The Vo: The soul of a being. A vran is born with it, it is the most important thing to any. It is also the only way they can become one with the Vran'Ti Vo, the Soul of Vran'Ti. Without it, one is but a beast. An intelligent one perhaps. A powerful one perhaps. But a beast nevertheless. To destroy one is to kill. Even if the body it once resided in remains living, they are soulless. The Vo is the perfect combination of the corporeal and the spiritual, and it is only in this perfection that something of such true importance can be made.
The Spirit: Most spirits are weak, too weak to do anything but be detected. But they are there. But there are those Vran who possess strong enough Spirits that they can act with the Vo, strengthen it and in turn themselves, and may then also act for the Vo. They can become the Vo Ni. The hand of the soul. The greatest of these may become the Vran'Ti Vo Ni. As powerful as they are important to the Vran, as they can survive long enough to bring a Vo to the Vran'ti Vo to be combined with the many before. A task that may prove deadly for others. The spirit is combined with a body to make a living being, they matter, but they are but mere beasts without a Vo. Some beasts have a strong enough Spirit that they can do some of what a Vo Ni can do, but they are still just Strong in Spirit.
The body: The body is a mere host, it serves the spirit and Vo and must be subservient to them. The Ven and Shi both are proof of this, as they change the body in accordance to the Vo. A Vo Ni may do this to even greater effect. A droid lacks spirit, and lacks Vo. It is not worth even what is attributed to slaves and animals. It has intelligence, but that is it.
