Wake Up

[member="Kira Talith"]

Well, that was at least a bit of good news.

Turning away from the war droids Soliael headed out the door and then quickly realized he had no idea where Kira actually was on the ship. He let out a slight sigh, shaking his head for a moment and then smiling as he pulled up his own comm-link. [Honey.]

Soliael said quite seriously.

[Where are you?] No doubt she would be somewhat embarrassed when she realized.

Soliael didn't mind too much of course, in fact he was rather happy that she finally found the probe droids. It seemed that all of his luck in finding things was tied up in some sort of diabolical scheme to conquer the galaxy and make it is own, at least that was what he was getting from the storage room filled with blasters, missiles, and war droids.

That question had Kira immediately freeze. Her eyes grew wide until they almost bulged, a flush coloring her cheeks in mild embarrassment.

[ Ahh.. yeah about that. ] she began, wincing a bit at the comm, her voice echoing throughout the Freya. One could picture the woman making silly faces sheepishly.

[ Maaa--ybe I'm testing to see if you can find me yourself! ] a total save right? Right?! Her lips twisted at the corner as she bit her lip. It was funny as much as it was silly.

For now, hovering egg-probe floated beside her.

[ Auxiliary cargo hold Besh. ]

[member="Kira Talith"]

That wasn't too far from where he was, and although he could have easily blinked there Soliael instead decided that he would walk. In truth it was mostly to think about what he would tell Kira about the Colicoid War droids, and also because he didn't really want to chance stumbling into something that he didn't know was already there. He moved quickly though, half jogging down the hall until eventually Auxiliary Cargo Hold Beth came into view.

"There you are." Soliael said as he stepped into the room, his eyes floating towards the odd probes.

"That'll be them then?" He said questioning the weird thing. "Never seen something like that before."

That wasn't really saying a lot, there was lots of technology in the galaxy that Soliael had never seen before. Companies were producing all sorts of new things all of the time, trying to keep up with all of it would have driven even the most observant person absolutely mad.

Still, it was intriguing. "Does it actually work?"

"Hey!" Kira shot her head up, smiling at her husband. So he had managed to find me! The smile turned into a full blown grin and she beckoned him over with a wave of her hand.

"Eh, I have it hovering so far." she told him, gesturing to the egg-like thing. "Never seen one like it." frowning, she mumbled to herself.

"I wonder if there is a manual for this..." she could be heard saying, bending back over the crate to search for anything of the sort. Moving the storage foam out of the way, the Lorrdian began her search. Not a few seconds later, her fingers caught on a flat tablet.

"Ah, hah!" came her victorious cry. Grabbing the tablet, her torso popped back up.

"Got this!" she shook it with a grin. "Hmm..." came a frown. This tablet did not look knew at ALL.

Actually, it had a sort of second-hand nature to it. Wait.. was that an etched 'N' on top.

"Wait.. isn't this Nohei's tablet?" Kira inquired to her husband, showing him the tablet. Indeed, were he to turn it on, he would see that it was [member="Kaili Talith"] 's tablet.

They would also find out that the probe was one of Kaili's own.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Ah." He said quietly. "That makes sense."

Soliael looked around for a moment. "How many of them do we have?"

That was really the important question. He had no doubt that if his daughter had been the one to create it then the thing would do it's job and then some, but it was a question of volume at this point. The Galaxy, well, the Satellite galaxy, was a big place after all. They needed to explore a dozen or so planets before they ever got there to make this trip worthwhile, and if they could only do one other planet aside from the one they were orbiting? This trip would still take forever.

Of course, this also meant that his own theory was confirmed.

Nohei had taken his tablet.

Once again everything was proven right in the galaxy and Soliael was innocent of all crimes.

"Uhh," Kira surveyed the area, getting a good glance at the rest of the crates around her.

"Not sure," she admitted, pushing away from the original box she had found the first probe. Turning left, the Lorrdian went walking over towards the next nearest container. A small grunt, a push of the lid, and then the removal of more packing foam. One more egg-like shaped probe.

"Here is another one." the blonde told her husband over her shoulder, reaching inside to grasp at the probe with both hands. There were at least ten of these cargo crates in the auxiliary cargo hold. So perhaps those ten were from Nohei? Could very well be.

Glancing up, Kira caught Soliael's eyes, and she gave a nod of her head towards the right. There were larger crates beside the ones that these particular probes were stored.

"What about those?" she inquired, motioning for him to find out.

"I wonder what Nohei made these out to be?" she mulled aloud, returning to search for the power switch again. A small depress, and again, that soft hum as it came online.

Kira's face split into the wide smile of a proud mother.

"She's so talented isn't she?" she spoke of Nohei of course, their youngest.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"She is." Soliael said simply. "They all are."

Each of their children had their own specific skills, and although some were more visible then others, they were all incredibly talented in their own right. They were a source of pride for Soliael, more so then any other achievement that he had. Even the Moross Crusade, all the good it had done was nothing compared to the pride he felt whenever he looked at his children. He doubted that would ever change, even if one of them were to do something...out of character.

"Alright." He said as he looked at the other boxes, assessing that they had more then enough probes.

"Let's figure out how to work these things." The former False god said as he opened another crate. "Start sending them out to nearby planets."

Hyperspace would make that easy enough, and while The Probes explored nearby systems Kira and Soliael could take a peek at the planet below. It would probably take some time for all of them to properly get a look at everything and they already new the planet below at least had breathable air.

It was best to line things up that way.

"Well what does the datapad say," Kira piped up. After all, he did claim it rather quickly. Likely because he lost his own datapad. Kira knew the truth!

"I wonder what their range is..." Not to mention the features. Nohei would have thought of everything, the blonde was sure. Her daughter had a brilliant mind.

"Oh," she noticed another small imprint. MaraTibx. "Oh, that would make sense. " she said aloud. While Nohei came from a well do family, she wasn't too keen on taking too much help on that quarter. While her little shop was booming with business, it made sense that the young entrepreneur would contract with another company for mass production and distribution.

"There's a small console here. Maybe input coordinates and it does the survey?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"We should tell Nohei to make the controls for her droids more intuitive." It would be constructive criticism.

In theory Soliael could probably just zap the droid and have it do whatever he wanted it to do, but that probably wouldn't help them down the line. If they never learned the proper way to do something then they would be at the end of their ropes if things came down to it. His lips thinned for a moment and he looked at his wife, letting his shoulders roll in a shrug. Soliael wasn't exactly the expert in geological survey drones, he'd never actually used them before.

"Try it." He suggested. "Not like it can kill us."

That was what the Colicoid droids were for.

He smiled slightly and gave her a wink. "I'll protect you."

“Well, maybe she was going for a more sleek look?” Kira countered, defending her youngest. It was the whole mother thing. She couldn’t help it, even if it was only constructive criticism her husband was giving. As it was, tapping in the coordinates would activate and prompt the survey probe droid to do as instructed.

“Well, we will need coordinates first,” she teased her husband, giving a small chuckle. “Unless you want to drop this one down to the planet below?’ Which would make sense. They did have to spend some time going over all of the other storages rooms to get a good grasp at what they had.

“I bet the data pad may have more information on the probes. Maybe even have the data it picks up transfered directly to it.” They could probably have it connected to the dataterminals on the bridge for easier access and power use.

“As for protecting me… I believe I was the one who saved our skins last go around!’
Or not, but still, it was fun to quip back!

[member="Kira Talith"]

He gave her a flat look. "I don't think your memory is working out so well anymore."

The last time anyone had needed rescuing had been Contruum of course, but...well they'd never really talked about it, at least not in detail. Soliael had come to rescue Kira, had nearly snapped a Sith Lord in half in his pajamas, and had almost broken the ring. Kira knew the first two bits of that, but she didn't know the third. The ring that Soliael wore on his finger was not just a symbol of the love and devotion that the former False God showed to his wife, but it was in it's own way a small prison.

The makings of the ring prevented Soliael from utilizing the force properly, or at least the Dark half of it.

The ring trapped away his ability to touch and use the Dark Side of the force, entrapping it.

Without the ring Soliael would be capable, and very likely in a state to fully bring back his potential as a Sith Sorcerer. The consequences of that would have been dramatically disastrous, not only for whomever was around him, but likely for the galaxy at large. It wasn't really a pleasant thought, but one that often came to mind when he touched the small piece of jewelry. "Come on miss smarts."

He waved the tablet at her.

"Lets try and send this thing down below." He said with a smile, going with her suggestion.

"I'm just saying.... Back on Rishi, I was the one doing some saving!" Kira piped up, flashing him a grin. Two different scenarios they were discussing. Granted, Kira didn't quite remember much at all of what occurred on Contruumn. Some might say it was for the best. One minute she was flopping over a mud puddle, nose broken, bitten by a Hydrastaff. The next, she awoke in her bed with an anxious and sleep deprived Devin at her side. He had never left it.

Plucking herself up, the tiny blonde padded over to her husband, giving a slight hop and a skip that made her ponytail bob. At the sassy endearment, Kira stuck out her tongue at Soliael.

"I'll show you a Miss Smarts!" poking his side with a finger.

"Alright," she said, reaching over to pluck the datapad from his hands. Kira was so very deft with her hands! Came with being a pickpocket for a while.

Granted, Soliael had the tendency to cheat and keep her from snatching things...

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Pfff." Soliael said. "You call that saving?"

It had been of course...though in theory Soliael could have gotten out of it on his own...his method just would have significantly bumped up the body count. "Try fighting thirteen Rancors and half a dozen Terentateks, that's what I had to go through on Contruum."

Not true at all.

"Those things are tough." Somewhat true, but Soliael could probably kill the beasts with a wave of his hand...okay that was an exaggeration, but something like that would have been easy enough. He shrugged slightly and turned away from his wife, smiling as he did so.

He slowly began to explore the rest of the storage bay, wondering if this one, like all the others, was filled with just the one kind of thing. He found it rather odd that the good people of KDY had chosen to organize things in such a way, though he was sure that if he had the original manifest things would have looked a little bit more put together.

Kira gave Soliael a flat look -- one that was hampered by the slight narrowing of his eyes.

Wait, was he being serious?? The man enjoyed teasing her so the Lorrdian wouldn't put it past him to try and exaggerate the tale. Granted, he hadn't really been that forthcoming on what actually had happened on Contruum. Him and Draith.

"Thirteen Rancors, eh?" her blonde brows high to hide under the fringe of her bangs. A click of her tongue followed, as did the cock of her hip to the right.

"My... look at you," she sang out, smiling over the white egglike probe at her husband. "The regular hero." her finger quickly tapped the coordinates for the planet below. A sudden flare of bright blue and the probe gave a small pulse.

"We'll need to drop this off then," Kira told him, only to add.

"So... are you ever going to tell me what really happened?" A bit more serious of a question, on that brought their eyes to lock upon each other.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Hm?" He said in regards to her question. He could have told her the truth of course, she wouldn't have judged him any for it, wouldn't have even batted her eyes. That simply wasn't the way that Kira worked. Yet there was something about the incident, about what he had nearly done...it was something he wanted to keep to himself. It wasn't really a detriment to do so, he had long known that losing his wife or any of his children would likely push him over the edge, that event had simply confirmed the theory.

"Nothing happened." Soliael said with a smile. "I fought a Sith Lord in my Pajama's and won."

His smile slowly expanded into a wide grin. "Didn't need my armor, a lightsaber, any special equipment, because I'm just that good."

He'd often that if he'd had any of his usual gear, his armor and gauntlets, the fight would have been a matter of seconds. For starters the damned Amphistaffs wouldn't have been such a problem and he could actually have gone toe to toe with the Sith without worrying about getting bitten. Of course, that was all just theory, but it was something he'd mused on after Kira had been saved.

A man had to preserve his ego after all.

There was little that Soliael could ever hide from his wife. More often than not, he never bothered. There was no need to. They were fairly open with their thoughts, concerns, and ideas.

It was just who they were.

On top of that, there was also the fact that Kira was a Lorrdian. Her ability to read body languages and glean intent from another sapient was rather extraordinary. Her natural empathy and ability to read people only heightened this quality.

Then there was the ring. The one that Soliael wore that connected the two as strongly as any Force bond. With it, Kira was an extended vessel that would pick up her husband's emotions as well, sometimes with the strength as if they were her own. Truth be told, there were times when she couldn't differentiate between the two. They were just that connected.

So while her husband may have given her a broad smile and joked about the matter, Kira knew there was more he wasn't telling her. It concerned her.

Kira was prone to worry. One fault perhaps that only increased with age and with their children. Soliael was no exception to that, for she cared about the well-being of her husband. He was keeping it from her, much like Micah.

It worried her.

"Just that good, eh?" she called out, keeping along with the light banter. However, the light furrowing of her brows would be a tell for the former false god.

"Guess we were lucky you decided to wear your pajamas for once," she managed to tease back, shaking her head. If there was anything Devin wanted to say to her, he would. However, Kira wasn't above asking him directly if she felt it necessary.

"Let's deploy this big guy," she gave the probe a pat.

"Then we can go through the rest of this."

[member="Kira Talith"]

He nodded.

"The torpedo tubes." Soliael said with a smile. "We'll launch the little guy out of the ship and then be on our merry way, documenting everything in this ship until the very last crumb is accounted for."

Soliael threw up a hand and twirled his finger.

"Should've been an accountant." Inventory was right up there with cleaning on his list of favorite tasks. Still, doing it with his wife at least wasn't the worst thing in the world. He bade Kira to move forward, pressing on the drone so that it began to hover alongside of them. He made sure that Kira still had the datapad so they could actually get readings and information from the drone once it was actually gone. Soliael didn't particularly know what they would find on the planet below, but he was most definitely curious.

A sentiment that was only growing as he thought about just how little they actually knew of the Rishi Maze.

"I wonder whats out there." Soliael said cheerfully.

Kira straightened, leaning back a bit to study her husband. She shot him a half smile.

"Anything." she began, "Everything!" came the cheery outburst later, arms outstretched wide as she went rocking up on her tippy toes.

It was just like her to be so giddy. So excited. It was some place new. Some world could very well be uncharted. Others perhaps barely so. Either way, it would be fun.

This wasn't a winter vacation after all!

Bringing her arms back down, Kira quickly reviewed the data pad.

"Everything looks well so far." another nod.

"Let's deploy." They'd have to move it towards the area by the hanger where they'd be able to eject it.

[member="Soliael Devin Talith"]

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael moved the thing forward, pressing slightly as he began to speak again. "The Rishi Maze hasn't really been explored since...well forever as far as I know."

That was what made it so interesting.

"Rather odd I think." Especially given that people had been able to travel to The Maze for several millenia now. Then again, perhaps the school of thought had always been more along the lines of letting sleeping dog lie. After all, the last time something had come from another galaxy it had very nearly devastated the entire structure of everything. The Yuuzhan Vong had been an...interesting wrench to throw into the workings of everything, and there was no doubt in Soliael's mind that most would likely think it best not to disturb anything that lay hidden within the Maze.

"You realize..." He began as he shoved the probe droid into place in the small tube. "That we may not find anything?"

Nothing except pirates that was.

Kira gave a soft, "hmm?" lifting her head from reviewing the datapad. The chance that they may not find anything? A snort and shake of her head were the blonde's reply to that.

"There is always something," she said cheerily. There was no disappointing the Lorrdian. Optimistic, regardless of come what may.

"Maybe we'll meet new people!" she quipped, using her fingers to tick off the many things they could find.

"Or a sunny place to relax in!" Kira was the poster child for the cheap souvenir tourist. She'd be happy with simply being able to travel and explore the new world with Soliael. If she only came out of it with a pretty rock, Kira was set.

"There is always a nice beach to relax in," that was said with a wag of her blonde brows, tongue in cheek with her knowing grin.
