We Are One (Dominion dom of Bimmiel and Gravlex Med)

Post 5/25
Location: Bimmiel

Very well, it was time to advance further into the city and several standard Urban Recon Walkers began to advance, their grenade launchers were perfect for getting in close and annihilating small positions or dropping entire builds under massed fire if needed. Bartic loaded into one of the B-configuration units, fit as a command unit due to it's upgraded sensors and comms in place of it's primary weapon and only a single repeating laser cannon for defence. A couple of twists of the joysticks and a presses of the pedals and he was ready to follow his new purchases into battle.

Jairdain followed [member="Grace Darkson"] out of the holding cell area as it collapsed almost as soon as [member="Cedric Grayson"] left the tunnel leading to the ground.

"I've only missed a couple meals, this bar will be fine for now."

As she said that, she went to take the bar out of its wrapper, but started shaking and was unable to open it. Sitting down on the ground before she fell down, Jairdain opened the bar and practically devoured it in just a few bites.

"It would be better if I stay here for a while and help as I can."

Dune was at [member="Jairdain"]'s side in a split-second. Without words he delved into her state through the Force. It was everything he'd suspected only deeper. Her body had begun to go into starvation and consume itself.

It was a wonder she could stand at all. The Bith knew that there was only so much his healing could do for her. What she needed was food and rest. He looked to [member="Cedric Grayson"].

"She needs to be evacuated," he appraised the Arch-Lord "I can help her somewhat but she truly needs food and sleep."

He eyed the nutrition bar and spoke to her directly.

"That barely constitutes sustenance, apprentice," he said with a smile "I can wash away some of your fatigue and heal any bruises but you'll still be just able to walk let alone fight."

With that he suited his words and began to Heal. Dune extended long fingers over her and poured the Light side's healing energies into her. Small bruises and contusions began to fade. Perhaps she would even feel like she'd just had a nap....

[member="Grace Darkson"]

"Stay as you will. I'm getting some rather odd reports from Gravlex Med."

Cedric was frowning, though his helmet his that rather well. Now was not the time to get into details about what he was hearing over the comms. Odds were that the men were simply confused and possibly falling into a trap, though the possibility of truth to their words was...disturbing. The Archlord held a hand to his helm and muttered something unintelligible in response to a message sent his way, before turning bodily toward both [member="Dune Rhur"] and @Jairdain.

"I'm going to Gravlex. She can get treated aboard one of the ships."

A shuttle came down to land near the group, its doors sliding open. Cedric wasted no time in stepping aboard.

"Come with me or don't, that's your decision. The battle here is won - it's just going to take time to calm down."

Jairdain nodded at the true words of [member="Dune Rhur"] but was unhappy to admit she was weak. A Jedi should be able to perform better than she had. Dune gave her a small amount of healing and that took care of her physical wounds and bruises, but not fact she had been starved for a few days. Realizing that she would be more help in a recovered state than a half starved one, Jairdain stood up and boarded the shuttle that picked up [member="Cedric Grayson"].

She sat down as soon as she could and drank more from the canteen [member="Grace Darkson"] had given her.

Dune offered an arm to lean on for [member="Jairdain"] as they followed [member="Cedric Grayson"] on to his shuttle. It was true that better treatment would await her. He knew that she must feel disappointed in herself. Everyone wanted to do the rescuing instead of being saved.

"You've done well to even stay alive," he told her "There's no shame in any of this."

With that it was up the boarding ramp and on to the shuttle. He sat across from her in the passenger compartment and strapped himself in. It wasn't that he didn't care about the young apprentice. Dune was also occupied with the Archlord.

With so much Dark side influence the Bith felt he must remind him of the Light.

War never changes.

As they were preparing to leave, Grace could tell that something was bothering the Archlord. Still, she was quiet, following him aboard the shuttle, making a point to keep an eye on him. Still, as she did, the form of a Bith in dirt-colored robes sat, strapping himself in across from the rescued Jedi. Always there were more Jedi. Good. Maybe then the galaxy's Sith problem could be dealt with.

Moving to take a seat herself, she turned to [member="Cedric Grayson"], a look of what might have been concern flashing across her face. "You said there were strange reports on Gravlex Med. Any idea what we're headed into?"

[member="Jairdain"] [member="Dune Rhur"]

The air within the shuttle was cold.

In a corner, Soeht appeared to stand on the shuttle that [member="Cedric Grayson"], [member="Dune Rhur"], [member="Jairdain"], and [member="Grace Darkson"] boarded. [acronym=Congratulations.]He did not speak[/acronym].

"They spoke of the world being naught but ash."

The Archlord's voice was a quiet one as he weighed the possibilities. It was quite likely the men had landed on a part of the world that had simply been baptized in the nuclear fires these tribals were so fond of, but then that simply did not seem to be the case.

"We'll see in a few moments, I suppose," he mused, shaking his head.

Silence followed as Cedric eyed [member="Soeht"]. There was the specter again, appearing at yet another turn in history.

He gave the Sith Lord a simple nod of agreement; an affirmation of their pact, and nothing more.

At the release of Jardain and the other prisnors, they had rescued me as well. I followed along as they boarded the shuttle.

When Teela's ship was being shot at she stuffed me into an escape pod launching me to the surface of Gravlex Med. I was feeling sad as her ship was getting blown up, she was like a second mother to me her and I had a bond together. When I got to the ground I was lost and I had no idea what to do. She once told me if this happened to meditate. I only came out of my meditate when I was captured.

It was on the Gravlex Med where I was captured by cultists to be used in a ritual. As the ritual was about to begin the Dominion came and saved me. In the back of the shuttle I feel the presence of [member="Soeht"] but couldn't see anything. Looking around at my companions [member="Grace Darkson"], and [member="Dune Rhur"] I wonder where my future is going to lead.

[member="Cedric Grayson"]

Dune observed the newcomers in the passenger. He was the healer here and it would not do for either rescued being to die. There was no great likelihood and yet it would not happen for lack of care. The Jedi was also there to listen if they so chose to talk.

Healing happened in the mind and soul. Deeper scars could run than the ones you saw. It was best to allow it to happen of the being's own accord. In their cases they'd already had much foisted on them.

Then the cabin's interior grew cold and there was an apparition. He turned his gaze upon the dark figure. Dark in both aspect and aura but the Jedi Master did nothing more than frown. Strange things were about in the galaxy since the events of the Netherworld.

"Do you know who this is?," he said ahead into the cockpit whilst gesturing to the back corner "Either of you?"

Jairdain sensed when [member="Soeht"] appeared, his aura there and the air in the shuttle chilled. Not knowing what to do, she remained seated, watching it with the Force. When [member="Dune Rhur"] spoke, she addressed her attention to him and shook her hear slightly. Though the question was not directed her, she felt the need to answer.

Her throat dry again, she took a drink from the canteen she was given earlier.

"There may not be shame in being wounded, but a Jedi should be more than I am. Stronger."

Though she was buckled in, she leaned forward slightly before speaking again to Dune.

"I should have been a beacon of light down there. Instead I was one of the herd, beaten and starved."

Peace is a lie.

Grace was quiet as she listened to [member="Cedric Grayson"]. A world covered in ash? A whole planet, reduced to nothing but dust? A shiver ran down her spine, and she wasn't sure if it was the idea of a desolated world, or the fact the temperature dropped suddenly. The darkness she could feel in the Force was nearly tangible, and [member="Soeht"]'s dark form lingered on the edge of her vision. The spirit seemed to focus on Cedric, and she could have sworn the Archlord nodded to it. Now that was interesting. The Archlord was taking council with a dead Sith Lord?

Her revelry and curiosity were interrupted by the Jedi's discussion. [member="Dune Rhur"]'s call to the front and [member="Jairdain"]'s complaints called her attention to the shuttle around her. "There is nothing to gain from dwelling on failure." Her words were quiet in the shuttle's bay. She sounded distant, as if remembering something. "You need to focus on what comes next." Her eyes focused, turning the yellow orbs on the young Jedi. "You're still young. There will come a day when your light will burn away what darkness opposes us."

The Sith leaned back, a small sigh escaping her. "And I look forward to seeing it."

[member="Blurose"] [member="Soeht"]

For once Dune found himself in agreement with [member="Grace Darkson"]. He caught her eye and gave her a short nod. Sometimes he wondered about this Sith. How had she come to the Dark Side and why did she linger.

He felt that there was so much more for her than it's corruption. Yet many Sith chose to stay within shadow out of fear and ignorance. The same things he knew that they accused Jedi of. The difference was that he'd faced pain and loss and temptation and some away stronger in his beliefs.

Perhaps one day she would understand all of this. He hoped so for her sake. For now he appreciated her words to @Jairdain. The young Jedi needed to be reminded they all stumbled from time to time.

"Grace is correct," he added quietly "Don't dwell on your mistakes, only learn from them. You did well to survive many days of deprivation and torture. Most of the captured ones died there but you didn't."

"Your faith in the Light kept you strong, Jairdain. You cannot always win every battle but you won the greater war."

[member="Soeht"] [member="Cedric Grayson"]

[member="Dune Rhur"] I turn my head and shake my head as I do not know the figure.

Listening closer as [member="Jairdain"] spoke softly I sit quietly and agree with her.

[member="Grace Darkson"] I turn my attention to Grace as she speaks I stood up "I agree with you, we all need to move on from our past whatever we went through will make us stronger." I sit back down quietly and think in my head of what she said.

[member="Cedric Grayson"]

Cedric did not give anything of note to the discussion. He simply listened in silence, a brow lofted as they went on about the Ashla and her varied aspects. Talk of theology and the nature of the force normally would have interested the youth, but he had other things on his mind.

Such things came to haunt him in the material realm as the shuttle tilted toward Gravlex Med. Something was most certainly wrong.

A large patch of the planet had been rendered a sickly gray color. Upon that area, Cedric felt nothing. There was no life that he could pick up. For a moment, he thought it might have been something simply blocking him, but there was nothing.

No blockers. No opposing force. Nothing.

""Take us in," he snapped, and the pilot did just that. Gray clouds met the vessel as it passed through the upper atmosphere.

"Do you all feel that? The lack of anything?"

"I sure hope you know what you're doing: after what happened on Quintas, I need no reminder that you may be getting into trouble for operating a toxic waste dump on Gravlex Med" the purser warned Dunames.

"My run-in with the FOEA, and especially with Tanomas Graf, and later with Robert Braunfel later, was far from pleasant, true, but the Dominion has a toxic waste problem. We are to deploy an orbital platform for the purposes of waste management and salvage"

"But the Dominion asked us to do it, boss" Merrily told the Polydroxol.

Dunames has no idea what the job on Gravlex Med entailed when one of the stakeholders in the Hijarna colony embarked in another joint venture for waste management over low-gravity Gravlex Med, but here she was with the Maersk of Lanteeb, ready to deploy more equipment to build an orbital waste processing station, where the Dominion could get the toxic waste out of the way. Sure, Star Tours was not a salvage company by any stretch, but the best salvage companies are associated with either the Primeval or the GA, entities that are impopular around these parts. So once the Maersk of Lanteeb reverted back to realspace, the deployment of the orbital toxic waste processing plant commenced in earnest, despite Star Tours having to call on the expertise of the other company to build and maintain the facility.

Dune turned his attention back to [member="Cedric Grayson"] and cocked his head. His lips turned down as he frowned in concentration. The Bith extended his concentration and felt outward. He noticed nothing.

"Yes, there's...," he looked back to the Arch-Lord and his frown deepend "There's...nothing."

He turned to look at [member="Grace Darkson"] to see if she concurred. Perhaps the Dark Side would reveal something to her. Then he shifted his eyes to [member="Jairdain"] and [member="Blurose"] to see if perhaps they noted something.

Now sitting in more a daze than fully paying attention to what was going on around her, Jairdain came out of it when [member="Cedric Grayson"] addressed the group. She looked forward with the Force to his location and reached out at what was before them. Her eyes got very round and her face went pale. Though the planet was there, nothing else was. It was as if everything had just been wiped away with an eraser.

"What happened?"

Trying to find something, anything, she kept searching.

Because it was about constructing an orbital facility, Dunames had to open the cargo hatch from the very moment she maneuvered into position so that the station could be built in geosynchronous orbit. Here it being geostationary wasn't as important as would otherwise be the case for communications satellites. But then the other ship was used by the other stakeholder, holding tugs and whatnot for constructing orbital equipment. Dunames wasted no time running through the inventory of what could actually be used for building the orbital station; to be frank, Star Tours had little expertise in orbital construction other than the outfitting of station rooms, which was at the late stages of construction. So the first few beams were unloaded for astromech droids supplied by the other stakeholder to start working on the orbital station. That was going to be a long day, she thought, while the low gravity of the planet made it possible for it to be in lower orbit.

"Now poodoo is getting real: the main advantage of low gravity is that it makes it that much more defensible using projectile weapons"

"Enough of that chatter, gunnery officer" Dunames told the gunnery officer, annoyed by the implications of low gravity.
