Welcome to the Jedi Academy - The Republic Dominion of Ossus

[member="Kian Karr"]

Somebody else watched the jedi master from a holovid feed. She moved quickly, hugging to the shadows and using the smallest amount of force to hide her presence. Of course, in this frakked up galaxy the use of the force to even do this could cause unknown ripples and side effects. Beskar coated staff slid open from the shadows.

She stepped into the light, jutting the top point of the staff upward to rest just before Kian Karr's exposed throat.

"Identify yourself."

Corvus spun an the spot. How many Mon-Cal Sith were there in the galaxy. "Did he have a name? I mean..." She seemed a little flustered and calmed herself. "I mean, can you tell me what he looked like?" As Uri gave a description she was sure this was Avreet.

Once she had the saber in her hands she knew she was right - she'd recognise the hilt anywhere. "He's...dead?" She said, somewhat extraneously - as Uri had already told her. "I mean, you're sure of it?"

She turned away. "He was a Sith but he had a good heart. I cannot and will not begin to defend his actions - most of which I'm sure I will never be aware of. But he had honour and he saved my life." She looked at the saber again. "I need to think what to do with this. Do you mind if I hold on to it for now?"

[member="Uri Aureleos"]

Uri was caught of guard at her reaction. He was overwhelmed in away by all of her questions. He never expected her to actually know the sith. Uri didn't understand how a sith could be honorable with all that he had read and been taught, but he believed his master. He remember the way he found the sith.

He shrugged, "I have no use for it." He then nodded and crossed his arms, "When I pulled the saber out of his hand, he had it up to his chest... He killed himself." If anything made the sith honorable it would be this. To take his own life rather than someone elses but Uri didn't wish this for himself. Yes, he still had yet to face the consequences of his recent action, but he was still in the galaxy. Still able to make a positive difference.

Kian eyed the girl before him suspiciously.

"I don't know how you got into this building." Kian said lifting his hand and pushing the tip away from his throat. "But your currently standing in the most secure building on Ossus and if you walk any further in without my presence, the droids ahead will kill you." Kian said, not meaning it as a threat but as a reality. They we're programmed to kill not detain.

"I am Jedi Master Kian Karr." Kian said crossing his hands over his chest. He and the girl hadn't met before, that he was sure of.

"Who might I be speaking with?" Kian asked and began to walk down the corridor, assuming the girl would follow him.

Axo wandered around the inside of the temple, This wasn't where he trained as a youngling, so he didn't have any real familiarity with it. He could only let the force guide him on his path. He walked softly and slowly through the halls, nodding at the random person he came across, but for the most part he was alone. He could see many statues of Jedi from the past. There were small names etched into the plaques under them. He felt the history embrace him, the statues almost felt like they were looking down at him, not in judgement, but watching, waiting for him to join him in the living force.

He hoped that one day he could live to be a Jedi worth remembering. One that does great things for the galaxy. For the moment he just walked.

As much as the kel dor eyed her suspiciously, she eyed him back the same. A single chestnut-brow lofted as he batted the high end of her staff away. The title in his name gave her pause but did not cause her to suddenly become shy.

"I entered this place the same way you did, Master Karr."

The healer scrutinized him a moment longer but she sensed no malevolence or trickery and in that moment she accepted him as an ally. She fell in step with the jedi master. "Taheera Sollo. Two e's and two l's." He may have heard of the jedi master that was her original, Tahira Solo. But that was neither here nor there.

"What are you doing in a place that has security to kill padawans, Master Karr?"

Jacen kept to a gentle jog as he approached the temple grounds. He knew it didn’t really make a distance, what would a few more minutes matter after the time it had taken him to get here from Voss?*

He slowed to a walk as he reached the entrance. As chaos now reigned across the Galaxy, it seemed foolish to run at a secure facility looking like a scruff with a bag slung over his back. Despite appearances, it was a good bag. Good, solid leather that had weathered the tests of time. Its cracked and scratched surface told many stories from the past years.

Voidstalker had only been back at the academy for a few months, trying to convince his dull brain to remember the basics from a lost childhood. He’d spoken to relatively few people beyond [member="Talon Vosra"] in his time there.

People were rushing to and fro, often carrying furniture or supplies. It seemed people were rearranging in the wake of the rapture. Jacen wasted no time in grabbing a lad by the shoulder and turning him about. He recognised the tweenager from the training ground, kid was making the brutal phys regime seem a cakewalk at the time.

“Anyone important around?” he asked succinctly. He needed to find someone to talk to, and he needed a map. He didn’t know how, or why, but he could now sense the location of every rift to the other side. There were several. He knew he was supposed to keep his emotions in check, but after the week he’d had…

Stepping off my jedi delta star fighter, and back onto Ossus' soil brought a peace I never though possible after the disappearances. It was a little bbit of normal in all this chaos. Though the force was in a state of chaos as well, it was nice to be able to just sense it on this planet. I knelt down, closing my eyes and picked up a little bit of soil in my hand. I felt the energy of the planet even in the hand full of dirt. Letting the dirt fall from my grass I stood and moved towards the inside of the temple. I wandered through the halls remembering all things that had happened here. I passed the training room, images of Makashi training with [member="Slice Spiralflame"], and Shien training with Gareth. I turned and entered the room quietly. As walked through the door I heard a feint wirring like something mechanical, just in time to roll to the side avoiding the saber strike to my head. AS I popped up in the center of the room, I realized I was surrounded by training droids.

"This place is the Shadow Enclave." Kian said stopping at the checkpoint. Three battledroids stepped forward, guns pointed at Taheera and Kian's chest. Kian waited for a tense moment, before the closest droid said.

"Authorization necessary. White wash protocol initiated." The Droid said and Kian smiled knowing that the security systems that were in place were still operational.

"Jedi Master Kian Karr." Kian said and punched his security codes into the datapad and transmitted them to the droid.

"Authorization approved." The droid said and turned its attention toward Taheera.

"Authorize guest status for Taheera Sollo." Kian said and turned to the girl. "You'll need to say something for them to get a voice print from you." Kian said to the young padawan.

White wash protocol had been activated, which meant that had Kian not passed the inspection not only would the droids have killed him, but they would have sent a signal to the droids in the bowels of the enclave who would have begun to wipe the information from all servers. It was a necessary precaution.

"White wash protocol?" Fingers tightened around the staff as the droid hovered near her. She was prepared to envelope them both in a protective bubble but it didn't come to that. Her voice sample seemed just fine. "What is the shadow enclave?" Curiosity piqued her interest. She was obviously new to the Academy.

"And Master Karr, weren't you at Kashyyyk?"

So many jedi were there, it would be more odd if he answered no. But she thought she remembered seeing him on a distant platform when she was fighting the sith chiss.

Finding what you were looking for was exceptionally difficult when you had no idea what you were searching for. Things got progressively harder when people kept attempting to talk to you. It got pretty distracting (and irritating) pretty quickly. At least a dozen souls had tried to talk to her so far. Some wanted to know if she found Stone while others noticed her distress. Every encounter went the same way: Greetings. Question. Two word answer. Farewell. Then she'd rush off before they could say another word. There were a couple times where someone came to approach her only to (likely) note her mood before rushing off. Those were her favorites. The others were incredibly aggravating. Was it not obvious she wasn't in the mood for this kind of thing? How hard was it to get people to leave you alone?!?

Drapeam Nyx felt her mood getting worse by the moment.

That started to change, slightly, when she realized she had wandered over to the shooting range... This had been one of her favorite places before things went to hell (literally). It had been where she went to unwind after treatments or to get away from the Jedi. Only a few others had ever used the makeshift training grounds. Most of the people there focused on using the force- not traditional weapons. Maybe they'd take that more seriously after all of this. Good, Nyx thought, some of them might actually learn something about combat. There were places where the force didn't work already. If it stayed the way it was now... Things would probably be better. Or not, considering the side effects trying to use it apparently had.

"I missed this place."

Corvus continued walking. Someone had been here recently. Quite a few someone's by the look of it. There was the faint aura of the Sith about the place. "I guess they didn't find what they were looking for," she mused and continued to walk though the tunnels.

"OK, Uri, we need to have these closed down. Not sealed off, completely filled in. Can you get a few Padawans and have them scour this place, top to bottom. Anything of note, they should put in one of the training rooms. And pick nothing up with your bare skin. There has been a lot of Sith magic used down here. And people work in twos OK? I'm going to continue to work through the tunnels to ensure any unwelcome guests have finally left." She bowed as Uri went to work.

Corvus carried on her exploration, her mind returning to the time with Elara, where they chased a Sith down these very tunnels and finally confronted Balaya and her minions. It was the day she'd gone to Rhen Var. The day she'd picked up that Sith ring that brought her as close to the Dark-side as she ever wanted to get. But that was then and this is now. Now, she had a job to do.

Kian coudn't suppress a chuckle at the rapid number of questions that had suddenly come from the padawan. She was certainly a student here or at least would be once they had secured the planet once more.

"White-wash protocol is a security measure to ensure no information leaves this building." Kian said answering the first question and walking past the droid checkpoint toward the central chamber. "The Jedi Shadows are a secretive branch of the Jedi.....we specialize in gathering information and destroying the Sith." Kian said, giving the basic information that could be gained in the Archives but not going any further.

"As for Kashyyyk," Kian said shaking his head regretfully, "I was there.....unsucessfully guarding the Northeastern Branch." Kian said as they finally made their way into the main chamber. It was a large room with a raised platform. Large basins held trees and from these trees waterfalls flowed down into the pool of water that ran beneath the platform.

"Where you there?" Kian asked, leading her into the center of the room.

Jacen's eyes rolled back up and his lids half closed. That small tingling sensation at the back of his mind was back. He was intrinsically aware that this was another rift opening, one that was bigger than any that had been created yet.

The sensation built and built, it wasn’t exactly painful, but it was far from pleasant. His vision lost focus, and he found himself struggling to process any coherent thoughts through the experience. It built and built and then…

As connected as he was to the rifts in some way, it tied him to Corellia through the Force at that moment. Across the expanse of space between Ossus and Corellia, he felt the sudden, intense fear and pain of billions of souls winking out of existence. Then there was nothing.

Jacen was on the ground, curled in a foetal position, the rift was gone and with it his connection. As he managed to get a grip on himself, he knew he had been shouting, could feel it in his throat and his hoarse voice as he tried to speak.

OOC: I’ve anchored this moment with Corellia being destroyed. If this is an issue (for example if it’s been mentioned in another dominion) let me know and I’ll edit!

Neck craned as she stared around the chambers, head tilted at all sorts of angles.

"I've never seen anything like this before," she marveled quietly. It was something unique. She wondered what types of measures were in place if the droids failed.

Myrtle-ellipses panned the room to reconnect with Kian. "I was. I was near the Northeastern branch. I too, failed." She had the scars to prove it.

"So what are you doing here, exactly? Are you retrieving information or testing out the security systems?"

I got a good look at the droids. They were the old training droids I had practiced with so long ago. It looks like they were back for a little revenge. They must have malfunctioned while we were gone. The other droids began to power up their lightsabers. No time to think. I went into a Form 2 stance. preparing for saber combat.

They opened attacked, and multiple strikes came at me. I blocked what I could, and what I couldn't, I dodged. I took 3 of what I had estimated to be eight droids out in a 2 move combo. I jabbed quickly at one's head, and ducking down to avoid a saber strike to the head, I spun left coming up, and slicing vertically in one fluid motion, separating two droid heads from their bodies. That left me with 5 remaining droids, and they were moving fast. they all attacked from their position around me. I blocked a shoulder strike left, a leg strike right, pivoted, sliced through a droid's leg, and kicked it down, cutting it's saber from it's hand. 4 left. They all attacked at once. With no other option i summoned the force, and jumped up and out over the 2 droids on my left, separating their heads. I was left with 2 droids, but paused to see if their were any side affects from using the force.

Something was wrong. There was a tension in the air, a thickness to the atmosphere. Breathing in took far more effort than it was supposed to. Even for someone with smoker's lungs like her. Things were off. But what?.... It doesn't matter. How could it matter? Oh, darling, how wrong you can be... Little do you know of what the future holds. Take a step back, look up at the sky, wonder what is happening. Stone is gone. Chite- she's... just gone. There are more important events unfolding at the moment! Shut up! Look around you for Hell's sake! Oh dear, you sad little woman-child... Are you still rambling on about her? You do realize you aren't getting her back, right? You don't get a happy ending! People like you never do! You'll never get one. Give up or suffer the rest of your miserable existence still clinging onto pointless hope. Keep on dreaming. Keep on believing that one day things will get better. Because they won't, Nyx. They're not going to take you back. The one who you dream of will not love you. Just fall back from your stupidity, move on to 'greener' pastures. You won't get a happy ending... But others will. Maybe if you stop whining and help them you'll get a moderately bad conclusion instead of a completely and utterly horrible one.

"Sometimes I really hate myself." Oh, don't worry Nyx! We hate you too! Most people do. What a shame, really... Or not! HA. HA. HA! Now, little one, I do believe there's an issue you need to address. Is there not? You're angry. Oh so very angry... Do something about it. Unleash your fury! Get it out of your system! "Screw you. I'm not doing that. Stone and Co- they, they'd be disappointed." Well I'm already disappointed, and I'm, you know, you, so... Can't exactly get any worse than this. Now get this over with and kick a bucket or something. Sound good? "I guess. Still don't like you though." The feeling is quite mutual. Having finished a conversation with herself the Zorren quietly moved towards the side of the shooting range. Somehow the area seemed even worse for the wear than the last time she had been here. Plenty of plants had already started taking back the unattended grounds. A few blasters lay abandoned in the grass. It... it reminded her of the times where she walked through old battlefields. Things had changed so much in so little time. GODS, it made her angry. Why was all of this happening?!? Why now? Why to people like the Doc and her and C- and the others! That's better, kid. Do yourself a favor and kick something or something. Oh, that was the plan...

Drapeam Nyx let out a howl as her foot collided with an old training droid.
That was going to hurt now, in the morning, and three days from now.

Destroying everything suddenly seemed like a wondrous idea. "They wouldn't mind me trashing a trash heap- right?" Oh, they probably would. But stop for a second! Listen in close. Pay attention. You're about to experience some real fun times! What did she- her inner voice, perhaps- mean by that? Was... was this some weird Space Wizard Prophet chite?... Oh dear. Please no. Not again... "The hell are you-" You say hell a lot for someone who's been there. No shut up. Reach out with the force... She started to do as she was told, taking a deep breath as she did. But something went wrong. Something felt... Everything felt wrong. It was similar to how things had been since the vanishings. Except this was far, far worse. As if someone was attempting to rip apart the universe itself. CHITE. Nyx grabbed her head with both hands before letting out a shrill scream. It's dying! I don't know what it is but crikey, it's going to-

Corellia was falling apart alongside Lashtu.

YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN NOW?!?
Everything you know is being eradicated while you waste your time here!
It hurt. Breathing. Thinking. Moving. Nyx was undeniably linked to the force (Stone and Raaf had made sure she knew that)... and now she felt it's pain. Reaching out to it right as the worst of the event unfolded had been a horrid idea. Jerk. queen. That was all the bantering she had time for. There was to much going on. Beneath her feet she could swear the earth was shaking, moving, crying out for it's fellow world. But of course it wasn't actually. No, this was just the woman breaking down, bit by bit, piece by piece. How much farther down could she go? Let's find out. Crush everything. GLADLY. The woman wasn't really in control of what she did next. With a poisonous rage she tried to latch onto the disabled training droids, trying to rip them into as many parts as she could, attempting to send the scraps flying. Where? Everywhere. Left, right, up, down. That wasn't enough. She was untrained, force potential untapped, but she wanted this range to feel her wrath. Or she wanted it to feel the anger that the Sith Lords who filled her with alchemized poison had felt. This was a combination of them and her. Who was more at fault?...

Nyx was to busy falling to the ground, pummeling her fists against it, to even consider the question.

Several hours had passed and Kayleigh's squad had cleared the surrounding areas nearest the Jedi temple of any potential threats. It was quiet here unlike most of the encounters thus far in the Republic's efforts to resecure its reach within the chaos of the galaxy. Returning to the perimeter of the temple the team began the process of placing remote surveilance systems that would be used in the event of potential future intrusion upon the Jedi by their enemies. Micro cameras would be placed strategically within the confines of the various trees nestled around the temple and charged via solar energy would run for 72 hours without an energy source to power them. The team then connected the cameras through a series of encryption channels, similar to those used to encrypt frequencies in radio transmission between Republic vessels into the Jedi temple where it could be monitored by their own personnel.

To add to the small defensive measures the team also enacted proximity sensors that would encircle the temple for 100 meters in all directions, while scrubbing the data from small beasts and creatures that typically roamed the woods on Ossus. The sensors would sound off a silent alarm within the same control room within the temple as the cameras. Hopefully this should give the Jedi a bit of pre-emptive warning in the future, should Ossus ever fall under attack.

Several hours later, once the work was complete, Kayleigh recalled her team and headed toward the dropship. There was little else she could do here, given that things seemed secure. She checked her comm and sent a message to the Jedi masters. "Jedi Masters Karr and Raaf, we've secured the outer perimeter of the temple, no signs of hostiles. We've installed cameras and proximity sensors that were routed to the inner temple. You'll have 100 meters of warning and visibility in a 360 degree view of the temple grounds should you have any unwelcome...guests. If you require nothing more of my team we will be returning to the Caledonia. Otherwise, we await your orders. Tyven out."

Kian looked around the room and certainly couldn't argue with Taheera's assessment of the place. The room was designed to provide the Jedi Shadows with a place that was relaxing and soothing. Their duties were dangerous and often took them into situations that tested their resolve as Jedi....it was important to have a place where they could reflect and center themselves.

"We've been off Ossus for too long. I'm here to ensure that the building and the information stored here is still secure." Kian said. "There are a lot of secrets stored in the basement of the building." Kian said and began to lead the way toward the turbolift that would take them down. Then he heard the message patch through the comm system.

"Thank you Admiral." Kian responded to the information that the Academy was secured. "I'm currently securing.....another building....and will be finished soon."

Having cleared the tunnels, Corvus exited them about half a kilometre from the main building and started to walk back. As she did so, she took in many of the sights, to ensure they were still intact. The site where the Muntuur Stones would be repositioned, the Meditation Pavillion - a favourite of the former GrandMaster Luke Skywalker. She nearly walked past it when she noticed something odd and walked over to it. Inside the open construction was a small hole that hadn't been there before.

She knelt down and examined it. Clearly it was previously a hiding place for something small - but what it might have been is now anyone's guess? She couldn't even tell - given the nature of the Force, if the hiding place had an aura. But she made a mental note to find out later - unless of course anyone came and told her what happened there!
