Invasion Welcome to the Jungle! [OS - Republic Invasion of Kashyyyk]

Long term Objective A: Capture the Tree | Short term: Bubble the graug forces against the fire yo. Secure the piers and the beach to the one sith.

NPC Troops: 6972 Graugs, 5000 Royal Guards, 2000 Vong, 1000 droids

Two thousand graug would to towards [member="Meric Nadun"]'s forces, flanking him from the front from where the other thousand would come at his back.

The other four would move towards finishing securing the piers and the beach. They would make their beachhead here.

What manner of ticks would fall would latch onto the crab armor, attempting to pierce through the thick shell.

It was then that a massive dragon ridden by [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] would fly over head, sending a billow of fire at their forces.

However, while there were some ill effects in cutting down the graug with fiery and rather nasty smelling burnt flesh, it was Nephthys, who had protected others from a Arkanian leviathan, that would summon the Force into a massive shield that would protect the bulk of the Graug Forces.

Dragon or no, the Valha lord had shielded others before and she would do so anew here.

Beskar Quarterstaff? Unconventional weapon for a Jedi, to say the least. The offering of surrender too? How noble. In reply Randial held out his arms to where they were perpendicular with his torso. The crimson lightsaber deactivated, before Randial dropped it to the ground.

He opened his hands towards Taheera. He was no expert of Telekinesis, so more powerful displays were beyond him, but he could do a couple things. Like, for instance, pull an opponent's blaster out of it's holster, or a lightsaber of of their belt. And thus Randial brought her lightsaber to his right hand and the blaster to his left, then fired a shot at her torso as he pressed the ignition button on her lightsaber. Presumably igniting it. But, he supposed, it could have been a trap.

Location: NARROW EASTERN BRIDGE of Yugwaaargh - in a not so hidden perch just before the bridge
Objective: B - Defend the stronghold!
Allies: Jedi
Enemies: [member="Randial"] - get ur paws off mah stuff

While her opponent didn't have a strong tendency for telekinesis, the clone had a genetic blue-print for the skill. The force brushed briefly against her hips as she felt his tug. Free-hand was already in-motion. She plucked invisible-tendrils around his fallen hilt and snapped it to her palm.

She caught his hilt and stepped to the side. Her blaster was set on stun. He may have been surprised to see a blue-bolt erupt from its nozzle. The stun bolt singed against the fabric just over her stomach as she twisted with a resulting numbing sensation that spread momentarily across that area - very similar to the sting of a maroon Nabooian beetle. Thumb flicked the switch, his red saber erupting like a volcano spitting up lava.

He would find a golden-blade illuminating the jungle around him from her hilt.

No traps yet.

"Rude."

There was no hesitation in action as she spoke. Her foot already lunged forward as she launched her beskar staff forward, like a spear for his hand that held her blaster. With a wave of the force, she would bring the staff back, like a boomerang but not before reaching out to nudge the top of his hood down with the force, just over his eyes.

Perhaps for the better, Qun was too drunk to really understand that he had just been insulted by Carach's other apprentice. Plus, she was probably right, and he couldn't fault a man, or woman as the case was, for being honest. So instead he leaned over and wiggled his nose a bit as he inhaled the air around him.

"You shmell liiiiiiiiiiike . . . . Buttershcotch." Qun said after taking a few moments to decide what it was. "Did you bring perfume into battle?" He said as he kept his eyes forward, still waiting for an attack. But there was no harm in getting one's comrads a little better while he waited. Unless he accidentally drunkenly said something offensive or stupid.

His heart had sunk when he'd looked down from the wall and seen the defensive position on the branch. Now that he'd joined the fight down here, his initial impression of the position turned out to be correct: Holding the line in front of the gate was untenable.

That impression compounded as the broken wood bucked under him...and the entire branch, wide enough to land a small capital ship, fell away. Death echoed in his mind, but less, far less than his sightline indicated: the bulk of the casualties were Yuuzhan Vong. He pinwheeled on the edge as the stump bucked hard.

The end of the stump was comprised of near-parallel horizontal splinters bigger than starfighters, a three-dimensional battlefield par excellence. A leaping Vong impaled himself on jagged wood, straight through the yorik coral. Shule struggled for balance, but the Force whispered-

He turned and spotted that massive Sith Lord in ornate armor, right at the edge of the remaining bark, only a short jagged slide from the place where singularity-wrecked wood turned into the long impaling spikes that formed the end of the stump. Balancing on one, perhaps ten metres below Vornskr and twenty farther out toward the end, Shule did his level best not to think about the two thousand Yuuzhan Vong soldiers he'd just killed. His sky-blue sabre gestured at the dark master, beckoning.

Rude? That is her response. That seemed . . . overly friendly. Interesting. The Quarterstaff went flying for his off-hand, and while he was able to stop himself from taking a powerful blow, the beskar-staff knocked the gun to the ground, out of his hand. It then bumped him on the head, more akin to a mother chastising a child than a Jedi attempting to best a Sith in mortal combat.

"You're right." Randial spoke, his stance halted as the quarter staff returned to her hand, untouched or prevented by Randial. "What say we cease our more rude tricks and bring this saber to saber? Or saber to quarterstaff? Or saber to saber-and-quarterstaff?" He asked, hist stance defensible but not aggressive.

After shakily getting to his feet and witnessing Dak's summary murder of the Yuuzhan-Vong that had opted to help him, Adekos was sorely tempted to simply brush the mercenary off the side of the branch and go on his way. Anyone who killed Vong for any reason was unworthy of a premature demise. Unfortunately, Adekos' obligation as a member of the One Sith dictated that he ensure resources- even the unpleasant ones that no one really liked -were not wasted. Canton would have to suffer a bit for killing those seven mooks. Then he could be brushed off the branch and be sent on his way. Adekos noted that Canton was quite the spry, energetic fellow. Quick on his feet and still good with his weapons.

Whatever stamina Dak had, Adekos decided he had greater need of. There was a battle to be won and now Adekos had to catch up on lost ground. He could not afford to be preoccupied with one mercenary any longer.

The Umbaran held his arm out, hand in a claw, and crimson tendrils shot forth rapidly towards the momentarily distracted Dak. No Lightning or other insidious Sith magic, but a manifestation of Drain Life. Adekos could imagine the pain would be roughly similar, if not greater. Rather than burns and muscle spasms, Adekos was now siphoning Dak's very life force out of him. He was no expert in the power, but he knew enough to make use of it and allow Dak to remain alive, if slightly comatose, by the end of this miserable affair. Hopefully it would do something for that scorching pain in his back, head, and chest, but Adekos knew better than to go around expecting miracles like that.

James had seen the speeder bike swoop down to the trees from the city in his direction but lost it behind the branches, until the Grey Jedi landed behind him and ordered James to stop. That wasn't part of the plan, unfortunately, so James would need to deal with him quickly to move on to his objective. Before he turned, he slipped a charge from his person to the floor, and drew a saber.

Rising to his feet. He turned around to face the Grey. "I must respectfully decline your offer Jedi. Forgive my rudeness but you're in my way. I must do what is necessary for this planet."

And with that, James Force Jumped into the trees, detonating the charge once he was clear. At the same time as he jumped away, he'd assault the mind of the Jedi however he could with thoughts of the death around him. All the lost souls here, Sith, Jedi, Wookie and trooper.

Hopefully the distraction would work enough for him to change his Force signature to Grey and slip away to the city.

"Angel-1 this is Echo-1. We are moving in on the Shield Generator. Watch for friendlies in your area."

The blackness was lighting up as fighters and ship guns dotted the void in laser fire. Thane took a quick swig from his flask and took a deep breath. Here we go.

"All wings, dive!!"

The four XJ-9's dove for the generator on the carrier, as they neared their target, Thane flicked the trigger to unleash Four torpedoes. As well did the other pilots with him. Sixteen proton torpedoes raced for the shield generator, hoping to take it out and open the carrier up to bombing runs to eliminate it.

Khan watched as [member="Darth Venefica"] and the Jedi Padawan battled for a moment, keeping tabs on the friendly fire-obssesed troopers nearby out of the corner of his eye at the same time. Which to intervene with? This was another delay... at this rate someone would take the city, and the glory associated to it, long before they ever reached it. He couldn't afford delays... Khan glanced around the battlefield for a moment, or the area that passed for it. The city sat in the treetops above, small footbridges leading up into it.* Troopers and Wookiees still fired upon eachother hear and their, though the Force Fear casted by Venefica wasn't as potent now that she was distracted... it would be fading. Khan glanced between towards the troopers in their group for a moment, before stepping back, and making his way around the edge of the battle. If he could get to the nearest bridges... He could get to the city himself. All the defenders, it seemed, were here... he could clear out any stragglers inside... Win the battle, even, while everyone else were distracted.... Khan moved quickly and quietly as possible towrds the bridges, taking care not to draw the attention of the battling Wookiees and troopers. Soon, he was headed up the nearest bridge...

(*99 percent sure we're still in the shadowlands, but I could be wrong. If I am, ignore the part about going up bridges and just say i'm going into the city.)

She had retired her blade for a moment, with the aid of Master Shule they were able to find a way to halt the advances of the One Sith on the Southwest bridge. Her figure could be seen with an injured trooper over her shoulder. The two of them narrowly escaped being overrun, and she wasn't going to leave him. Especially with them having a bit of breathing room. She helped him sit off to the side, and she herself rejoined the fray. She hadn't even known the communications to have been jammed, until she started to hear static on the other end. Voices fading in and out, she even tried herself to send out a transmission but she couldn't find the time as with the arrival of more vong had her focus entirely.

Though from what she could gather from the message was that their forces were being flanked on the Eastern side. From what she could recall, no one had infiltrated the stronghold from the entrances available. Then it occurred to her that they must have entered from the top. She experienced brief flashbacks of enemy forces scaling the walls of the massive trunk. Of course! With enemies on both sides, the Republic wouldn't be able to last that long, someone had to cover the flanks and keep things in control. She nodded her head before running her blade through the abdomen of the opposition.

"Master Shule, It seems the fortress has been infiltrated. I will go and cover our flanks, I will leave this section to you." she said yelling all most as the noise all around them could have drowned out a soft spoken person such as herself. As much as she didn't wanna leave what little forces they had it was important that they weren't in a position to be cornered. So with that she gathered a small group, trying to take what little she could to follow her back into the fortress.

She herself saw a katarn off to the side, she hopped on its back and used such as a mount. Wrapping her hands in the reigns and kicking her heels to get the lizard moving. Then she ascended into the stronghold.

Ru had entered on her Katarn mount with what little soldiers she could scavenge. Her lightsaber pointed straight ahead to signal an advance. It was good she grabbed this mount, how else was she to scale the walls? Pulling back on the reigns and using the mental link she established with her mount she initiated an attack from the Katarn beneath her. With speed and power it whipped around to use its tail in a sweeping attack against the Vong.

"Be weary of those mines, we don't want to bring the place down from the inside!

With that she promoted her mount to launch itself at the walls, using its claws it clung to the wall. She had to gather energy, she began to utilize Force channel to boost her connection to the force itself.

"I must respectfully decline your offer Jedi. Forgive my rudeness but you're in my way. I must do what is necessary for this planet."

Veino sighed. Of course. He'd actually have to work to stop this terrorist from blowing up the city. Why did they always do that? A flash of danger came to him through the Force and he threw up a Force barrier as the charge detonated in front of rain. Fire and shrapnel and dirt and splinters of wood thudded against the barrier and fell to the ground. He looked up into the trees where the man had disappeared to and reached out with the Force, where although the man's signature may have changed, it was still there.

Veino latched onto that signature and gave a mighty pull with the Force to drag the man back to the ground. It was not going to be that easy to escape.

He was dimly aware of an increase in a mental assault of thoughts about death, but he was an empath used to preventing the emotions of entire cities from flooding through his brain. This assault itself bounced uselessly against his mental barriers that were keeping the far more powerful emotions of the battle away.

Oh how fun, enemy reinforcements. Judging by the armor of the men charging towards their forces, and the Jedi leading them she had to guess these were members of that Ession Reformation group. How . . . interesting. One Jedi in particular was making a beeline for her specifically, she almost felt honored he was seeking her out, well she would repay the favor.

"Subaltern, Commander, engage the enemy reinforcements and wipe them off the beach like a rolling tide, leave the Jedi there to me and do not interfere," she ordered.

"Yes, my Lady," the commander of her standard Sith troopers said, moving off to command his troops.

"For the will of Yun-Yuuzhan!" the Yuuzhan Vong subaltern yelled, charging with the rest of his Vong soldiers right into the midst of the battle. Moving towards the Jedi, she cut down a Wookiee that tried to intercept her, then a soldier in heavy armor fell, his head and helmet rolling past as the battle erupted anew. A circle cleared out around the two ancient enemies, her forces obeying her orders out of loyalty to her and the Sith.

"I sense a bloodlust in you that seems out of place for most Jedi," she said, bringing her lightsaber up in a salute. "Might I have your name while we engage in this age old dance that our respective religions dictate we do?"

She was curious about this armored man, very curious indeed and she wondered how this fight would go.

With orders from the Sith Lady, the forces under Darth Arcanix's command began to push forward against the Republic lines, even as they were reinforced. The subaltern and his Sith counterpart began coordinating their attacks, the Yuuzhan Vong eviscerating their way forward with amphistaves, thud and razor bugs, and all manner of bio-enhancements they had subjected themselves to. The Sith troopers pulled back a bit to form up into new lines, and began advancing, volleys of blaster fire raging from their rifles. Grenades started to fly from some of their number, landing behind the writhing front line.

All the while, they steered clear of the area where their mistress and her opponent were about to fight, and the rakamats began to advance up the beach, firing away with their Yaret-Kors at both the Republic defensive line and the enemy reinforcements unimpeded so far.

For someone who was still having a hard time figuring out which eating utensil was appropriately used when, the somewhat newly minted clone started to question the normalcy of this encounter. Was this how sith usually acted? Was she doing it wrong?

She masked her confusion and pushed thoughts of forks, spoons, knives, and sporks from her chestnut-haired head. He certainly wouldn't be getting that gluten free option now.

With a click, the staff returned to its baton-form, which she tucked behind her back, hopefully making it more difficult to invisibly pilfer. She had a feeling she would need two hands, no matter which weapon she chose. Myrtle-ellipses met fiery-crimson as if in a nod of consent for unwritten etiquette of battle.

Keeping her weight centered as much as allowed, she stepped forward in a blur for a jab to his right hip with a follow up swing to diagonally cut from there up to his left shoulder. Time to test her speed against that armor.

"Affirmative, Angel Two," the rutian pilot replied, breaking off from her position under her leader's aft and dropping her fighter a good thirty meters beneath his. She would be in position for a gravity-aided maneuver that would slingshot her X-Wing around for another pass in quick succession, her imminent dive providing abundant momentum to swing into a loop underneath the capital ship after launching torpedoes.

"Getting a lock." Sressi grinned as the Blazing Angels broke out from the enemy fighter screen and ascended to an advantageous altitude, knowing that the Republic already had an upper hand in the skies and was about to land a devastating blow to the carrier below. The blue Angel looked to her port and starboard, noting pilots Audax, Drexel, and Miles, and giving them a cheeky wave. "Say when, Chatter!"

Now that was a sound she liked to hear!

The pained grunt her cut elicited from the Dreadguard was like music to Vrag's ears, and the usually subdued bloodthirst flared in her chest as if she could sense the smell of death in the air. She had a helmet to prevent such things, of course, but the woman had seen and felt enough wounds to supply the necessary stimuli from her memory with ease, driving herself forward in her rage.

The spray of bullets was mostly soaked up by her fellow troops, but the Sith hadn't pulled back quite fast enough to avoid the whole cone, and a bolt licked the padding beneath her plates, searing hungrily at the skin below. Lucky hit, the Knight growled to herself and melted even deeper into the waves of her soldiers as they roiled by. As a lone enemy combatant in the midst of the enemy force, the Dreadguard would be hard pressed to dodge the shots surely aimed at him by the passing squads.

Vrag used this to her advantage as she burst out of her ranks with the aid of Force speed, coming at the man from his wounded side in an effort to avoid a repeat performance of the previous scenario. With an injured knee, her opponent wouldn't be as quick to turn and void her attack, this one going for his still functioning joint. The beauty of her preferred style, Makashi, was that you only needed one hand to use it effectively, and her scorched upper arm would be as good as new before she would ever need to call upon it.

Upon completion of her slash, the Knight would let her momentum carry her forward and amid her own men again, where her blade would once more hiss back into darkness.

Much like their comrades before that, another massive wave of reinforcements joined the first, pouring out of the dropships and onto the bridge; though seeing the branch itself was rather hard at this point, and from afar the throng of Sith would seem like incessant ants, crawling over the bodies of their enemies in an effort to press their significant advantage.

The red streaks of their rifles filled what little space remained between the blurred front lines, and the troopers continued to shoot at the forces of [member="Kian Karr"] and [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"], doubtlessly felling many a wookiee and droid alike. Such concentrated fire would easily mow down even the toughest of bastards, and with the frequency and density of their bolts, it was only a matter of time before even the fastest of the Jedi would find themselves in the path of one such projectile. It was terribly hard — not to mention taxing — after all, being engaged in a duel while trying to deflect shots at the same time.

Darth Venefica's eyes never left the Jedi as she struggled to break the hold, even when the Jedi manged to sever the arm of the trooper, saving herself from being tapped in the back of the head. She held her lightsaber tight, the blade hovering closer to the body of the Jedi when the girl attempted to use the Force and push her away, a feeble attempt to break her concentration.

The Sith Knight hardly felt the energy being thrusted at her. The weakened surge of energy from a weak mind and body crashing harmlessly against the more motivated and stronger Sith Knight. Whatever distraction the Jedi had attempted, failed. What was meant as a distraction was merely fuel to the force choke as the grip tightened, the Sith knight wielding the power suddenly; and unwilling to relent in the face of refusal of offer for mercy. The pressure would degenerate consciousness as blood flow would withdraw from the victims brain, leading to blacking out.

Adding injury to insult, and showing her brutality, she touched the hot blade to the Jedi's arm returning the burn the girl gave to her right leg. Darth Venefica held the girl's life in her hands, but death would not be this Jedi's fate. It was no longer her goal to kill every Jedi, her motivation now rested with the corruption of the Jedi, turning them against one another. How glorious a victory for the Sith to watch the famed heroes of the galaxy betray, and murder one another.

And this poor girl, was one of many destined to drive their blades into the hearts of their former brethren. And now the group led by the Sith Knight could enter the city, unopposed.

It had been far too long since Rhaegos had tasted the flesh of another dragon. It didn't matter if its rider even had the beast's name in it - Mordecai was the real deal deal. The Arkanian Dragon beneath his saddle shuddered delightfully with the coming thrill of a new battle. Only moments before, the alchemized beast of a mount had been feasting upon the remains of poor Republic soldiers and turning Wookies into walking torches. So, so very flammable Wookies. Mordecai almost pitied them in their agony - so he gifted them a swift end by lightsaber blade.

But now the dynamic duo was ready for bigger game.

The fight raged on. Rusken cut his way through the Sith forces with great strength until suddenly they began to ignore him. Confused but keeping his guard up, the Vong and troopers brushed passed but still managed to give the Jedi looks of malice and disgust. The same was given back to them, if only they could see beneath a helmet.

It would seem his effort to be noticed had paid off, the commanding lady herself had taken interest in the old Jedi and acknowledged his plea to duke out their differences. Hopefully this Sith was a proper sport and wouldn't pull a cheap trick or two like others in the past, because let's face it, can you ever truly trust a Sith? Taking caution and lightsaber in hand, he braced himself in a Soresu stance while keeping an eye on his opponent.

But what's a bit strange was her query about his name and the claim of his violent streak. What did she care? Rusken hadn't once had the experience of being questioned during a full-scale battle, let alone by a Sith of all things. Talk was cheap, and she wouldn't gain the edge on the veteran. He'd simply take a step forward, staring her down behind the visor of his helmet. His armor and lower robes already stained and caked with gore from previous encounters with the enemy.

The icy blue of his Guardian's blade illuminated the side of his aforementioned helmet as he awaited her advance. But in the mean time, he'd at least humor her a quick few words.

"Name's Shaxx, Sith. And I'm gonna try to kill you. If I don't succeed? I'll make sure I see you in hell regardless."

He watched and waited.

Angling her blade down to her side in a traditional Makashi opening stance, she took inventory of everything she could bring to bear against the Jedi, and what he possible could unleash on her. She recognized the Soresu stance so he preferred defense to out-right assault, interesting. He wasn't as powerful as she was, and judging by his voice, he was older so he would have more combat experience she suspected. Oh . . . joy.

His armor would also be a problem, necessitating attacks to his rear and the joints where the plates couldn't protect him. The slight shimmer to cape told her it was most likely armorweave, oh these Ession types certainly weren't like other Jedi at all.

Taking carefully measured steps, she began to circle around the area the raging forces around them cleared. She would have to be smart, and utilize all her skill and cunning to defeat this Knight, even if he wasn't a Master.

"Well this is a conundrum," she said, tiliting her head as she continued to circle. "Your stance says self-defense, but your motives scream kill. Huh, that is indeed a strange irony."

As she spoke, she sent a small bolt of Force Lightning to test his reflexes more than anything else, she wanted to gauge them herself before going in with the blade.
