Invasion Welcome to the Jungle! [OS - Republic Invasion of Kashyyyk]

Flint Dexen

Wandering Lost Soul
Objective B - Protect Stronghold
Location: Wherever Kana and Reverance are
Allies: [member="Kana Truden"]
Enemies: @Reverance

The Sith's combined usage of the Force and both of his lightsabers to fend against the two Jedi were impressive to say the least. The flashes of cyan, emerald, and crimson was a dazzling display, and Flint had to focus to make sure he was keeping up with his own lightsaber movements.

Out of the corner of his eyes, Flint got to see Truden going onto her offense, which sadly did not involve a decapitating the Sith. Not that such a thing would've been easy or successful, however. Regardless, the Jedi Knight noted with satisfaction that both he and Kana seemed to agree upon the idea of trying to arrest this Sith rather than outright trying to kill him. That wouldn't be any easier than beheading the Sith, ofcourse.

Just as he planned to go on an aggressive move himself, Flint saw the Sith swing with his left arm at his hips. Instinct kicked in, and instead of parrying off the angular slash, Flint pushed himself off the ground, flipping once in mid-air just high enough to barely avoid the incoming low-strike that would've otherwise sliced through his lower body.

As he landed back on the ground, Flint saw the Sith planting a powerful kick towards the direction of his fellow Jedi combatant. Although he didn't have the time to stop the Sith from fully implementing the kick at the Jedi Master's chest, Flint decided he'd do what he could to lessen the brutality of their opponent's kick. Both feet firm on the ground, Flint aimed a Force Push at the Sith infront of him, hoping that it would somewhat disrupt the Sith's attack on the female Jedi.

Rusken softly shook his head. This farce had gone on far too long, but first, he would explain a few things in fine detail to the Sith and her bold claims.

"I'll me stop you there. Let it be known that those of us who follow the Ession way only seek to hunt down those who bear the moniker of Sith; that would be you and your kind, obviously. Personally I don't give a damn about who chooses what path, but be it for a loosely moral code, and I will raise my finger and point out the wrong doings that you condone. You can stand there and whine semantics to me all you like, but is it truly going gain you favors? No, Sith. It is still me who pities you in the end. You're still misguided, arrogant, and if you say you aren't like the rest of your people, then look around you. Tell me what exactly you believe you're accomplishing at this moment."

He exhaled, thinking that this would more than likely go in one ear and out the other. Trying to talk down a Sith never truly worked out. The power of words were not their strong-suit, physical angst was. It seemed to be the only reasoning skill they had. No wonder there was so much in-fighting between them.

"There's still time to reconsider your actions. Do not breed violence, help stop it. The galaxy needs no more bloodshed after this... will you lay down your arms and see through a different perspective for once? I will not attack you unless you enable me. The choice is yours, Sith."

Though he was giving the lady a fair chance, his guard was still raised. And he'd still be watching closely.

Location: Republic Stronghold
Objective: Initially to build energy and trap Vong, now to deal with Praeliors Chest...again!
Allies: [member="Kian Karr"] [member="Gherron Vael"] [member="Varus Shatterstar"] [member="Kana Truden"] [member="Flint Dexen"] [member="Rael sul B'an"] @Marakai O'reen [member="Shule Windspeaker"]
Enemies: [member="Reverance"] [member="Darth Praelior"]

From her stationary position, she witnessed everything in slow motion. The death of her comrades in front of her, trying their best to move the Vong into a position to be taken care of, and then the arrival of more enemies pushing back the Republic army...while she initially had a plan...it was clear that the battle was slipping far from their favor. They fought hard, extremely hard but it was a losing battle from the beginning. She wouldn't dare go through with her plan, especially if the risk was them all sacrificing themselves. Though not the intentions, how could one be so sure.

When she though it couldn't get any worst she saw the arrival of Praelior...it seems she survived the destruction of the bridge. For a Jedi Master, she surely underestimated the Sith Lords abilities. Her mistake. Her position had been compromised, when she saw her troopers running to cover her. Throwing their lives away...her heart simply began to hurt.

She ended the building of energy, and everything returned back to its normal speed for her. The sound quickly came back to her; war ravaging all around her.

She back up slowly against the wall when the last guard fell. Enemies were approaching her from all sides. She instead used that built up energy to project a barrier at the last minute to cover herself. It shattered immediately after, but at least she was safe for the moment.

Quickly after, she crouched down and performed a force aided acrobatic over the enemy. She had to get out of the tigt soace, but as she moved, trying to get to a better position. She found that Praelior was standing in her path.

"You just wouldn't allow yourself to meet your fate....would you?" she said gripping her saber handle tightly.

There had been a distinct lack of sabers clashing lately. At least on Kana’s part as the fighting had ventured beyond mere glow-stick poking and become a lot more physical than she was used to. As much as it would pain her that she lacked the same measure of physical strength when compared to Reverance she still found solace in that while he had reach, she had flexibility.

Though in this case it wouldn’t be as evident as a boot forcefully knocked the air out of her and she stumbled back in a coughing fit. Flint’s push would seem to have had enough of a dampening effect on it but for all it was worth a bruise would still grow on her. Of that she had no doubt.

The man was busy on two fronts. If she could get rid of just one saber the chances of victory would increase and as such Kana wasted no time to check herself before she wrecked herself.

A second flurry of attacks all aimed at Reverance’s left-hand side was set into play. She firmly held the saber in both hands as the first slash came from Kana’s right and aimed to bat away at her opponent’s plating. The second one was a slash from Kana’s left aimed to bat away at the armor on his kneecaps.

The final attack required her to step back for a second as to allow herself to build a form of momentum before taking a firm step forward. All her weight was shifted to her left foot, the one which she had very much exposed. Her saber held solely in her right hand she slid the left hand down to her forearm as she thrust it for her opponent’s waist looking to ‘at-least-not-completely-dead’ injure him.

That is of course if anything landed, you know how these things work.

Maria left the safe-seeming atmosphere over the planet of Kashyyyk and finally took the risk of landing on the planet. She knew the tree was in need of a bit help and that's where she headed, to aid her Padawan Caleb. Fighting with Sith, especially at an invasion at such a young age was too dangerous, and a young student needed somebody to protect him.

The ship landed a bit away from the main fights and Maria tried to hide it so that nobody would steal it -- or even worse -- destroy it.

And then she ran to the base of the tree, at first hiding in the shadows, but contacting Caleb with telepathy.

"How are things going and what do you think I should do right now?"

While clever, what Caleb was asking was a tall order for the Hapan padawan. He had not learned how to alter his environment beyond the Force barrier. But having a background in science, Armand had a pretty good grasp of physics. And Caleb was right they might as well use all of the sand, swamp mud, dirt and debris to their advantage. Cowardice or indecision would get them both killed right now. "Ready as I'll ever be!" Armand shouted.

NPC Slicers:
Location: Rogue unmarked space station in the skies over the Stronghold

NPCs: Red Raven organic slicers [5]
Objective: Going back to jamming secondary commlink channel
Opponents: ([member="Kian Karr"] and his slicing team)

After fumbling around with the ammo for a half second longer than a deftly trained combatant would, the Chiss slicer, still down on one knee, finally got his slugthrower loaded again. But it was a nanosecond too late. The Jedi had flung one of his lightsabers at Keira as she deftly sidestepped towards the man. Unfortunately, Ticon would be forced to dodge or else be eviscerated by the purple plasma blade, a sight that would normally break Cryax’s will if it weren’t controlled by the Sith.

In lieu of engaging with his bodyguard, the Jedi Knight [member="Varus Shatterstar"], moving in at an inhuman speed, advanced on the Chiss, and was finally within striking distance. The violet saber made a sinuous arc towards the Chiss’s lower torso in a severing strike. With only minimal time to react, Cryax crab walked backwards and the saber sliced through his right leg, mid-thigh, with a violent hiss. The lifelike replica of his leg rolled along on the stump, smoke pouring from its disembodied end.

Cryax’s leg exploded in sparks from the damaged synth-net neural interface that connected the cybernetic limb to the rest of the Chiss’s organic body. Wires, neural controlling rods, and skeletal reinforcments snaked out of his exposed stump and blue synthflesh hung in tatters around the cut. Contrary to popular thought, the attack on his limb did cause the Chiss quite a great deal of pain. All of the most cutting-edge cybernetics had a measure pain receptors built in, as pain was a natural warning sign to the body that it was under attack. Naturally, the gravely wounded Chiss let out a deafening howl. Once his body had processed the shock of losing his prosthetic limb, he continued to scramble back against dead turret, firing the slugthrower at the Jedi from a dangerously close range.

"I'm doing exactly what you're doing, Jedi," Taeli replied, not moving to attack at all. "Leading forces in a war I didn't start, but will certainly help my faction win so I don't get killed by someone like you. You call me arrogant and misguided, but take a look in the mirror yourself. You are exactly those things, but I doubt you'll listen to a Sith about character traits. You only see me in one light, and that's as apparently a monster that enjoys killing. If I had my choice, I'd be back on Coruscant reading, but I have my duty to the Sith to fight when I'm called upon, not unlike you Jedi. But, that's right. You abandoned the Jedi Order because they weren't war-like enough and couldn't stop us, so you joined your own oligarchic shadow of a Jedi Order."

"In that vain, I give you the same offer if you so desire to stop further bloodshed. Walk away, and my soldiers will allow you to retreat. Stay, and you prove my words even if you don't believe me. A true Jedi does not seek out a fight, and yet you charged straight towards me, doing exactly that, even if you regard it as your duty to take me down for being of a slightly different religion than yours."

She gripped her lightsaber slightly harder as she looked at the armored man.

"The choice is yours, Jedi, but I will continue doing my duty to the government I serve, one that I won't abandon just because I disagree with some of its actions or individuals. Loyalty, Jedi, loyalty is important and I'm sure that surprises you coming from a Sith."

NPCs:
Location: Beach and beginning to advance
Controller: Darth Arcanix
NPCs: 8,765 Sith troopers, 10,867 Vong warriors, 4 rakamats
Opponents: [member="Graxin Rade"]'s forces

The remaining Republic and Ession forces on the beach had been annihilated, the survivors falling back towards the gates of the last wall. Beyond lay the city that was already in the middle of fighting certain elements of the Sith forces. 300 Graug and 20 Wookiees were providing a rear-action as the Sith forces began to advance against them, the 4000 troops that had been affected by the waves of darkness beginning to filter back into battle. They were carrying heavier weapons, some of them keeping an eye on the sky with rocket launchers. The rest began opening fire, blaster fire and rockets smashing against the rear-guard.

The Yuuzhan Vong warriors had suffered losses from the Wookiees but were, if anything, more frenzied and war crazy than before. Thud and razor bugs were flying even faster as they joined the Sith troopers firing on the rear-guard. Several dozen remained behind to watch the fight between their lady and the Jedi, but most continued on with the advance, forming into new lines as the assault on the wall would begin soon.

The four rakamats, while moving slowly forward because of their dovin basals were focused on defense from enemy fire, were turning their full attention to the wall and its defenders. Molten coral began to smash even harder against the wall, with one or two attacks being launched over the wall as an artillery strike. They still were only able to attack long-range, but they would soon be within close range and be able to unleash their destructive force upon those that remained, along with the nearly 19,000 soldiers that were serving under Arcanix

Summary:
Took another 600 losses roughly
Forces focusing all fire on the remaining rear-guard and beginning the advance upon the wall.
Sith troopers are once again at full strength, with some carrying rocket launchers now to target any air attacks.
Vong warriors still frenzied and advancing with the Sith troopers.
Rakamats turning their full fire on the wall, with two attacks being lobbed over as an artillery attack on the AOL

She could still feel the energy and her hands were on the rifle, all the sights and sounds around her bringing their soldiers into the fray but she spoke. "The jedi is mine, leave her but kill the troopers." Then Sochi was moving again and jumping over the soldiers while Balaya moved to intercept her. Standing in the path with the rifle held at the ready before she smiled letting her eyes look at the jedi master. "Fate is a funny thing Sochi, how many times have we fought? A handful and each time we have gotten stronger." She was talking but there was still more purpose while her figure loomed over the girl. Hands gripping on the rifle while she prepared for the fight.

Her body was harder to telegraph the moves, her eyes purple instead of golden or blue like they had been once. Her muscles in control under the cloak and armor while she stepped forward once... twice.... a third time opening the cloak as the armor gleamed underneath where it wasn't crystasteel. Her eyes looking upon her now more while Balaya raised the rifle to aim at the jedi masters chest and fired. The paddlebeamer going forward to strike and try to numb the area. Her small advantage of the gun using both energy types and sabers only being able to be calibrated to one at a time the easy part as she fire a small three round burst from the rifle.

She didn't need to win... not really she needed to let the energy raise and power come from the destruction. Her game was to buy time and distract while @Reverances forces destroyed everything, the rings gathering energy. She was working to beat the jedi by stalling her long enough but let a smile form on her face now. "Come now Sochi."

With the energy gained in her bombing dive, Sressechka was able to pull her fighter up from underneath the ventral hull of the Sith carrier and loop off its opposite side and back over the dorsal like the X-Wing had been launched from a slingshot, its wide but intensely fast turnaround propelling her towards the afts of the retaliating enemy fighters. They seemed to be going all-out for a final sally at the Republic carrier, and Angel Five was not going to let that happen if she had anything to say about it. "I've disengaged the carrier. Chasing enemy attackers now."

Her instincts to kill were starting to develop. She had killed once before, but it was an impersonal experience--and those were Vong fighters, anyway. But this time, she was well aware of the lives piloting those starfighters before her. And she had every intention of shedding blood this time. Her lips quivered, her heart still not desiring to do this. But she had seen firsthand what had happened at Manaan, and this was not going to be the day she allowed them freedom to disintegrate the Republic any more.

Locking on to one of the Sith wingman, Sressi opened fire with all four laser cannons directly into the tail of the wide-and-slender Taral-class fighter.

So the Sith had decided her fate. Her mouth spewed fallacies of which only a Sith could construct with their forked tongues. She was wrong, basically, wrong in so many regards as to how she saw the Jedi and how she believed they worked. Who was a Sith to determine the way of the Republic? Her eyes had only been beset by the actions of her own people, not the opposite. In fact, she couldn't have been anymore blind and one-sided. Her accusations implied that the Ession and Republic were murderous, lying, and all-around scummy. But what's this? A shimmer of truth signals from within the rough of those lies? Why not make it shine more brightly.

The Sith were responsible for genocides and holocausts carried out on innocent worlds that couldn't so much lift a finger and tell them to stop, for if they had, they probably wouldn't exist. The Sith performed dirty tricks in the shadows and struck at the Republic with low blows just to stand taller in status and loom over everything once more. The Sith performed acts of said genocide on Courscant and mocked the Republic for not being strong enough.

Such was the nature of the Sith.

At this point, there were no more words to try and turn the Sith's life around. She had made it very clear that she had no clue what a Jedi was or what their true intentions were. The tenants of the Jedi Order were not lost upon Rusken, he had not forgotten them. He was simply a blade used to carve out the wicked, he was the retribution known as a Guardian.

There is no emotion, there is Peace. - The Sith used emotion to unleash their anger and hatred upon others.

There is no ignorance, there is Knowledge. - Ignorance is what the woman and her kind were showing at this very moment, and throughout history. The ignorance of failing to understand.

There is no passion, there is Serenity. - Too much passion was put into the wars and efforts of the Sith, it crippled their thinking and made them naive to balance. They were extremely troubled and therefore lacked serenity.

There is no chaos, there is Harmony. - The Sith here caused much chaos and bred violence spanning over years and decades that has brought nothing but more war, bloodshed, and disagreement. They refused harmony unless all was ruled under their fist.

There is no death, there is the Force. - Death was abundant here, and everywhere the Sith walked. They killed for sport, it was like a game for them just to assert themselves as high-and-mighty. They used the Force as a tool to sculpt monuments of their undoing of cities and species, they had sown seeds of evil wherever they conquered.

"I've given you ample opportunity, Sith. Yet you're as determined as I am to uphold a cause you feel is beneficial in the long-run. But know that your words make little sense and do not apply to me. I will not be twisted or persuaded by a liar who does not understand the reasons why the Jedi or Ession fight against you. Your personal intentions mean little when you stand here and command waves of forces to slaughter, to commit acts of genocide that are wrong by every moral definition. I come at you seeking to stop you, and notice how I've not attempted to smite you yet, because I believed you could still be worth saving.

If this is truly your desire, to commit acts of murder, to enslave others simply because they do not take a knee to your cause, then you are truly the misguided one. You have done nothing but further enable me to do what I must to protect the sanctity of the galaxy and the Jedi way. I'm sorry, Sith. But it is you and your kind alone that started this war."

Still felt like it had decent weight to it. He shouldn't have been hearing voices right now. He looked over at his glasses-toting ally and noticed she seemed a bit perturbed. For a moment he thought he had offended her.

"I- you're betar then okaay I guess . . ." He shrugged and slurred, before seeing a duo of droids change what they were doing. Spark's attack was a simple one, but he could just barely see some exertion on her face.

"Ohhhhhhhhhh." His realization was slow and long. "I'll . . . cover blue." Qun said and went to the front of Spark Finn, igniting his double sabers in front of her. Anyone that came to her would have to go through him first. If Qun wasn't Darth Carach's shiniest or most well-recognized pebble well, he'd fight to keep that pebble safe. Mostly because he was too drunk and jovial to consider perhaps he should try to be the shiniest pebble himself.

NPC ACTIONS:

[member="Cryax Bane"]: The slicers were all tired, they were all exhausted, but they knew the costs of failure. People would die. So they pushed themselves one, fighting the enemy slicers at every turn.

“Sir, we’ve gained back some control, but its limited.” One yelled over his shoulder.

“What do you mean?” The officer said stepping over to the young man.

“We’ve gotten a foothold in, but they aren’t out.” The man said looking over his shoulder. “The communications are up but they are spotty. They are going to be going in and out until we can get full control.” The man said, “And, quite frankly, I’m not sure we can!”

“You better.” The officer said straightening and running a hand through his greying hair.

[member="Vrag"]: The One Sith’s heavy fire meant heavy casualties on the Republic side. The pile of the Republic dead was disheartening, but also spurned the soldiers to fight on. They weren’t about to yield….not yet. Not until they knew there was no hope of rallying.

There were still small numbers of reinforcements coming in, but nothing that was aiding the fight in favor of the Republic. It was time for an alternative plan. One that the Republic officers had been considering but hadn’t yet come to.

“It’s time.” One officer said to the other as they watched the soldiers dying around them. “Jedi Karr, we need you to give the order!” One of them yelled out over the comm channels when they came too. There was a burst of static and they didn’t know if the request had been received or not.

PC ACTIONS:

Kian thrust his hand out sending a wave of force energy that pushed the first row of attacks back into the row behind them, but in doing so he let a blaster bolt catch him on the armor on his shoulder. It spun him about and he almost stumbled, but was able to bring his lightsaber up to intercept the next bolt that came his way from the Sith trooper rushing at him. The third bolt went back at the man, dropping him amongst the dead.

Kian felt the same pang of guilt he felt eveytime he took a life. So many dead. He felt guilt for those he killed....and for those who he lead here to the slaughter. But he knew what they fought for. He knew that their lives were given to save so many others, but it did little to quiet that regret.

"...di Karr....give the order?" Came a voice over the comm system mixed with bursts of static.

"Repeat that!" Kian said falling back behind the line for a moment while the troops continued to fight all around him. He ducked down so that he could give his attention to the communications.

"....shall we give the order?" Came the voice again. "Shall we.......contingency plan...." Contingency Plan? Had they reached that already? Kian rose up and his eyes scanned the battlefield. YVH-1 droids lay virtually inoperable along the line where they had fallen earlier in the fight and his own numbers were dwindling. It was time.

"YVH-1 protical 65A54D initiated." Kian said back over the comm system. As soon as the message went out, the YVH series droids dashed forward into the enemy ranks, spreading out amongst them. Many were taking hit after hit as they went, but their objective was no longer to survive.....it was to take as many of the enemy with them as they could.

"Take cover!" Kian heard yelled out over the ranks. The message had been heard, the soldiers knew what was coming. Men threw themselves behind whatever cover they could and Kian grabbed a nearby soldier and pulled him down to the ground with him. The YVH droids would try to destruct away from friendlies, but they wouldn't all have that choice as the Sith troopers would be trying to take them down as they advanced. There would be friendly casualties, but the droids were programmed to avoid this at all costs, so the friendly casualities would be minimal compared to the enemy. "Maximum efficiency" was what they called it.

Kian glanced up in time to see the first explosion, the fire and shockwave engulfing a large area and sending troops and Vong flying. Then another exploded, and another....there were quite a few YVH droids still function that were advancing forward with the abandon of men on a suicide mission. When the fourth YVH exploded and sent Sith flying, Kian heard the shout go up.

"OPEN FIRE!!!" Kian sprang back up to his feet, his lightsaber held out in front of him as the front ranks of the Republic forces maintained their assault on the One Sith. They hoped that the distraction and the devastation of the YVH droid sacrifice would be enough to buy them time, if nothing else.

Time to fight on.

Time to save Kashyyyk.

The rear guard broke within moments. They were vastly outnumbered and, while spirited, hopelessly outmatched. Their only goal was to buy time for the Peacekeepers to regroup with their brethren beyond the wall, and hold the Sith forces back long enough for air support to arrive, and it finally had.

"Pilots!" Shlurk boomed into his comm system as he fell back behind the wall.

"The Sith forces will breach the wall. Annihilate them and their organic machines!"

The older Graug grumbled his displeasure as another warriors was torn limb from limb with an amphistaff. Such a shame to die to these godless heathens. Shlurk would not suffer that dishonor.

"Burn them all!"

Meanwhile, the Peacekeepers came under fire as they arrived at the tree. The Wookies would hold back the Vong and their allies within the trees, to be sure. The Peacekeepers only needed to overwhelm the Vong defenders and join the fight.

One of the field commanders, a Colonel Malorn, ordered the force to come to a halt as they drew close to the Vong. The Vong warriors and their allies charged the Peacekeeper line. The soldiers split into groups of five, and just as before, one in those five carried Ravager cannons.

The powerful weapons gave a sharp whine as they charged, and the entire line boomed with explosive energy as red beam sailed toward the approaching Vong with enough force each to shatter a tank.

TLDR: Rear Guard decimated.

Peacekeepers have regrouped with their reinforcements at the tree, firing Ravager cannons in a line toward the Vong in the same manner as was done to Arcanix's forces earlier.

The building was all but deserted, minus the drooling Pub lying on the floor, praying for death to come and take away the pain. Several pieces of Republic equipment laid strewn about, a sign they had made attempts to collect only the valuable pieces as they abandoned the building. A door in the back was left ajar, probably where they had exited when reports came flying in that this structure was on the verge of being overrun. Darth Venefica looked about the room trying to imagine where a single chip could be found in all this mess.

After failed attempts to locate the chip, she decided to change tactics. Crouching down next to the soldier, she caressed his left cheek and whispered, "I can take away all this pain...if you help me." The soldier struggled to lift his head to meet her gaze and after a few seconds, he nodded his head. "I'm looking for something of great importance...a chip. Perhaps you have seen it?" The soldier laid his head back on the floor, staring up at the grassed covered ceiling. "We could do this the easy way or the hard way...but know this, my patience has reached its limitations," the Sith Knight commented, her voice filled with anger. He explained to her through bursts of pain that there is a makeshift safe built into the floor on the far side, but nobody except the Wookies new how to open it. Darth Venefica patted the soldier on his cheek, and moved to where the safe was located.

Brushing aside litter and debris, the safe had been revealed. It was ancient looking with intricate designs on it. A triangular keyhole was built into the face of the safe, with a couple of defense mechanisms installed along the keyhole. She laughed outloud. The wookies had created this safe out of wood, the fools. She removed her lightsaber and cut a circle around the keyhole, then used the Force to rip the cut piece away. At the bottom of the safe, resting on leaves was the lone chip. She grabbed the chip placing it inside a pocket in her cloak.

"The chip is in our possession," she said into the comlink notifying [member="Faye Terrik"], [member="Shuduc Macar"], and [member="Darth Valtryx"].

The block succeeded. The Vibroblades though looked like a Bantha stepped on it. He tossed it at the Jedi, calling back his orange bladed saber. This wasn't helping his cause. James needed to move on, he knew the fight would be good but the Jedi was using the defensive form of dueling. It was a stalemate. He decided to end the stall, the Vong and Graug forces had been pushing closer to their location, James looked at them then back to the Jedi and winked. James jumped into the horde. But, he did something the Jedi would not expect. He started killing the Vong and Graug and Sith troopers.

James cleared a spot, the Jedi could see him clearly now. James would have put away the white saber and replaced it with a charge. He attached it to the back of a passing Vong and let it continue on towards the city. Waving at the Jedi, where he jumped away again, off to another part of the horde to repeat the action. He'd spent a few moments with the Jedi and learned his signature and was able to send back a message to him telepathically, "It's for the good of the people."

A strange thing to say to an enemy.

Four dozen Katarn-mounted wookiees bulldozed through the Sith front lines. I tried to steady myself, clinging to the back of the Katarn mount. The Wookiee in front of me was busy using a heart-lance to shove Sith soldiers away from his Katarn. Most of the Sith were just trampled like weeds before the Katarn. I tried to be of use, then noticed a tall, armored figure near the back of the Sith lines, waving a lightsaber around. About ten or fifteen meters away. I leveled my assault rifle as best I could, then squeezed the secondary trigger.

Thunk.

A frag grenade sped out at about 70 meters per second, aimed to land just a bit behind the armor-clad Sith, who looked to be locked in combat with a Jedi.

They say life flashes before the eyes of those who meet the wall. That certain, black abyss known as the void. Empty and desolate. Consciousness fading as the physical vessel withers under the pressures of life, allowing one to succumb to the harsh embrace known as death. Was Meric merely recalling his loved ones as he felt that cold pull into the darkness?

Meric had fallen into his hatred and thought to draw Darth Ayra into it's inferno, to be burned and withered away as he had once suffered as a child. She felt her spleen break under the pressure of the Sith Lords attack. Blood fell from the corners of her lips. Indeed, the beast had satisfied itself with the congealed taste of blood.

And now it would gaze upon the fall of her opponent.

Ayra fell to her knees, as the Protection bubble formed around her. Meric's pull on the dark side was added to the bubble. Red specks, rising from massive hole on the side of her body where her abdomen had been and the giant gash on her leg rose in the bubble's encasing, protecting her from Meric Nadun and his hatred. She had not succumbed to her rage, like a beast. By surrendering herself to the dark side, Darth Ayra became it's property and subsequently it's guide. Guiding the beast inside her now, the Sith Lord remained on her knees as her eyes glared upon her enemy.

Distortion in the air surrounded Darth Ayra, as the Sith Lord swung her Lightsaber towards Meric. No, he was too far away from a physical slash. She was simply returning what he had given her in his assault. The electricity that had poured forth from his hand to her abdomen had been caught in her Lightsaber and now it would be used to fire back upon Meric. By draining his attack into her weapon, she had made the electricity her own and now it would be used to break it's casters resolve.
