In truth, she hadn't the time to worry about the sniper. She had left it to luck there, hoping maybe they might pick a more notable target. Surely a massive Vong warrior, or a Sith Lord would claim a higher reward? Unfortunately, she was not so lucky and whoever it was taking aim on her was persistent and well armed. When the shot came, something happened, something that Xenia probably didn't even notice. Her body moved on its own, a reflex more powerful than it should be, and a foresight given to her by something she was yet so unaware of. A glinting of metal from the tree-built architecture, and then a blast of energy, glowing colors. She only saw it for a second before it struck her, but she managed to raise her gun in defense, sacrificing it without fully deflecting the sniper's damage. A spray of imploded energy scattered across her face and she was sent backwards, reeling in pain.

Left hand over right eye, and a shaking, burnt right hand from where the had used her pistol as a shield. Both were injuries in need of medical care. Her hand, all along the inside palm, was red and beginning to swell ever so slightly; painful, but in the first degree. The left side of her face looked untouched, though the right was now burned in a similar fashion, her eye barely able to open. Red and hanging there. She couldn't remain here any longer. Withdrawing her second and last pistol, of the same nubian make, she let loose a volley of free-fire in the direction of [member="T-Eya Carn"].

<<Aaagk-- Szzcffft-- I'm hit, my eye-->>

<<A drop ship is coming – it’ll take you back up to the fleet if you want it.>>

<<How thoughtful, yeah, get me to my ship.>>

Varus had only been granted a few moments of peace behind the safety of the crates before the force burned in him again in warning. As it did, Varus hung his head, taking a deep breath before he reacted, and just in time. Throwing himself out from behind the crates as they fell, Varus landed hard on the bark of the branch and rolled over once before sitting up and glancing over his left shoulder towards where the Chiss and his protectors had been. When he did he then glanced over at the crates that come crashing down where he'd been standing, the boxes piling up on top of one another as he realized that whoever had done this would have only wanted him to present himself. Something he was honestly expecting before long, though not right away.

Most Sith preferred to hear themselves talk before they did practically anything at all, thinking much more of themselves than any of them rightfully should, but the woman that Varus's cobalt blue eyes fell upon seemed much different than the typical Sith. For one, this woman was far stronger than either of the other two female Sith he'd previously fought, and even more so than the few Knights he'd cut down before making it to the back of the enemy lines before his little adventure had lead him to the Chiss slicer.

He wasn't much worried, though, because he knew that his antics had come to an end, at least for now, and it was about time for him to leave if he were going to make it out alive. The possibility of his escape was thinning by the second, however, as his options all but dried up in the face of so many foes prepared to strike him down or capture him for whatever brutal torture they might have in mind for a Jedi. That was something he couldn't imagine he would enjoy either, considering how many of their kind he'd cut to pieces that day, killing most and maiming others.

So there he sat, waiting for something to be said or for someone to make a move as he thought about what options he might have...

It seemed that the Sith had a thing for trying to kill his opponent by impaling them through the chest. As Flint made his useless attack against the armored body of the Sith, he watched in anticipation as the Sith stepped forward towards Flint to stab him with the crimson lightsaber.

The Jedi Knight let out a frustrated grunt as his lighstaber attack was bashed away from its intended target, the swing having been successfully redirected by the Sith's elbow wedge. Where had Truden gone? Then, from the corner of his eye, he saw Kana sprinting towards to tackle their opponent. Such would have been a helpful move, if it hadn't been for the fact that the Sith had managed to redirect Flint's cyan blade off to his side, so that as Kana aimed to tackle the Sith combatant, there was the dangerous possibility of Flint's lightsaber ending up hitting the Jedi Master..

As his lightsaber blade veered off, Flint quickly switched off his weapon, not wanting to risk hitting his ally. Then, in the next moment, Flint found that the Sith was also successful in plunging his crimson blade into his chest. Flint opened his mouth to utter a silent groan of agony, as the tip of the enemy combatant's lightsaber emerged on the other side of him.

Then, his life having been violently extinguished, Flint crumpled, falling first onto his knees, before falling face-flat on the ground. The Jedi Knight's final thoughts were something along the lines of mixed feelings of sympathy and regret, as he left the female Jedi Master at the mercy of the brutal Sith Lord.

‘You held me down, but I got up
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear the sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ‘cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now.’

And a much better version - don't judge me...

Corvus felt little physically as the stone bounced off her hand – and the saber remained in her grip. Yet she felt immediately felt tremendous discomfort that quickly turned into pain. The saber in her palm was steady but the blade flickered, intermittently cutting out – the Solari crystal sensing something long before Corvus did.

It was a feeling she’d known before, when subject to Balaya’s Sith Magic. She felt the Dark-side of the Force radiating…from within her. Perhaps her experiences on Rhen Var and Corellia would be her saving grace? Or perhaps not…

As a studier of Jedi Lore that disapproved of destroying Sith Artefacts, she was an outlier. Someone who instead studied them for potential weaknesses. She even used some of Darth Bane’s training techniques and work on holocrons in her day to day activities. So she latched onto the term, ‘Taint.’ Yes…GrandMaster Skywalker and the Sith Lumiya. The symptoms fitted. She closed her eyes.

But as fast as her brain applied logic, another part of her wanted to close down the ‘durasteel wall’ in her brain that stopped emotions flowing in and out. It wanted her to access them, yes. A second voice appeared in her head, remonstrating with the logical one, wooing it with promises. ‘How powerful a Sith could we be with our natural gift of Empathy – able to draw emotions from anyone within visible distance. This one in front of us is clearly not worthy. Does she not realise what she’s awoken? Darth Bane was right. We know it to be true. The strong take what they want and the weak will suffer at their hands. This one will suffer. Her fate is inevitable. Only the strong survive because only the strong deserve to. We deserve to…’

The Force Light was still surrounding her left hand and the logical half of her brain told her the effects of the Taint would be to stun her – and until dispelled she would be susceptible to the Dark-side. So she shut her logical brain off – and trusted in the Force, as she always did. The Force Light disappeared from sight and instead entered her, quite literally purging the Dark-side within her living body.

Given free reign, the seductive voice grew louder. ‘There are those with power, those with strength and the will to lead. We are not an equal of anyone – certainly not this creature in front of us. Cut her down – prove to the Sith how you are a force to be reckoned with. Demonstrate to them your power. End her worthless life – she deserves nothing more for awakening us.’

Corvus’ blade cut out entirely and her eyes opened. Her violet eyes now red.

“Surrender? No, I don’t think so. Prepare to die. For you see, you have done us a huge favour. We can sense the emotions of every living creature nearby. We can draw on their fears and hopes and destroy you in a heart-beat. And no, this is no request for you to beg for mercy. Those that grovel for forgiveness don’t deserve it. We simply wished to thank you before we ended your pitiful life.”

At that instant, a familiar snap-hiss indicated one thing. Her saber had reactivated. Her irises morphed back into that familiar violet shade and she smiled, the Force Light having done its job - her total and utter faith in the Force vindicated again. “This can still be the part where you surrender, or the point where I dismantle you - and ship you back to Ossus in a cargo hopper. Sorry, Obi-Wan, but it was too good a line to waste.” She raised her right eyebrow and with her left hand beckoned her opponent to come forward.

Tired limbs and drained minds poured out of the first dropships, driven by the triumph they had contributed to at the stronghold. It was a powerful force, victory mixed with adrenaline, and the armored soldiers gave into it without restraint as they advanced towards the Great tree. Where help and support were required, they would be provided, arriving in the form of the trademark red streaks of blaster fire. The mass of troops still had some ground to cover before they could really start the push, but their presence alone would hopefully crush the fight out of the defenders. Or spurn them on. Who knew at this point?

Vrag sure didn't, and her focus was more on the short breather afforded to her by the shuttle ride, rather than on the combat that would greet her soon enough. She'd have ample time to experience the desperation of the enemy forces after she landed, and with that moment fast-approaching, the Knight opted to close her eyes and gather herself before moving into the thick of battle again.

Despite his injuries, despite his disappointment with the loss of the Stronghold and despite his concerns and fears for those that were still behind fighting there, Kian was having fun. He hadn't placed his helmet back on yet and he could feel the air rushing past him as his Katarn mount leapt from branch to branch. They were traveling along the higher levels of the trees, moving with speed and determination toward the Great Tree. Kian just hoped they could get there in time to be of some assistance.

As they went, more Dragon troopers joined them. It wasn't long until there was a century of soldiers moving through the tree tops.

How much further? Kian asked telepathically as his mount made the dangerous jump from one limb to another. His stomach leapt up into his chest as the Katarn's feet touched down on the branch. They truly were amazing animals, known for being silent, shadowy, and deadly. It was a quality that Kian respected.

<Not far. We'll have to descend down soon and go via the ground level> Grundyr communicated to Kian. He had become rather comfortable with communicating with Kian telepathically, likely due to their time together once before. No sooner had Grundyr spoken that the Katarn changed its direction and began to scale down the trunk of the tree. Kian held on tightly as gravity pulled at him, but he was held in place by the saddle.

Good, Kian said snapping his helmet back over his head and the display began to show various battle statistics and troop formations present at their destination. I fear we are arriving a bit late, but we can still aid them! Grundyr, your in command of your soldiers, I'll provide support. Kian said knowing that Grundyr had the trust and loyalty of his men. Besides, Kian didn't hold any military rank, he wasn't in charge, and he didn't know what he would face at the tree. The Kolto injection had eased the pain of his ribs, but they were still sore.

As the Katarn touched down on the ground and began its rapid movement toward the Great Tree, Kian closed his eyes for a moment in thought, centering himself for the fight to come. Then he pulled his lightsaber from his belt and ignited the blade, holding it out to the side as they moved forward.

AT THE BEACH AND PIERS
Graug
1245 - secured the beach and the piers
1750 Royal Guards - En route to the tree
854 droids - Secured Kachiro Bridge

More strafing fire would cut a volley through the beach and piers. Thankfully, the last run did not destroy the second pier. However, a healthy dose of Graug would give up their lives for the fight.

Orders were made to the Royal Guards -- Move to the Tree.

They would make headway towards the great majestic Wookiee city to aide in the claiming of it.

Meanwhile back to [member="Jack Sparrow"]....

The pirate shrugged, then adjusted his tricorn hat and clapped his hands together. "Well then. I suppose...take me to your leader!"

To their leader? Well then. So they would. For now they would detain the Senator of Kashyyyk. Comm would call [member="Vrag"] to take him into custody.

Just what did our scoundrel have up his sleeve?

-11,500 Blackblades - Arrived at Kachirho will make headway from the forest to the tree.

[member="Graxin Rade"] -- 9100 Peacekeepers ??? No reply in over 24 hours so continuing on

The Royal Guards and the Graug would continue the onslaught up the tree. Vuuzhan Vong bodies would hit the floor, but for every one that fell another would take its place up the chain.

They would crash against the Peacekeepers there, using blast bugs, razor bugs, and thud bugs along with borash jelly to hold them solid in place. That same jelly would slowly start to move across their victims, eating away at their armor as the screams would continue.

With the One Sith now at full force and focus at the tree in it of itself, the tidal wave of One Sith Forces would crash together to claim Kachiro's Tree once and for all!

Slicing and dicing at [member="Corvus Raaf"] from behind and [member="Darth Venefica"]

The blade would come flying at her to block her strike of the Wookiee -- but the Darth would not be deterred. The blade would ricochet from her own in a spark of kaleidoscope of colors, prompting her enlongated hilt to spin away and Zaren's to go flying back to crash against the tree, clattering to the ground before rolling away --- ohhh would it fall over the ledge?!

That is when she activated the second blade -- for her weapon of choice was a dual sided lightsaber. A twirl would see cleave the Wookiee from nose to navel like a hot knife through butter.

Thud. Twin large knees would fall before the Darth as the dead Wookiee's body would tumble.

Nephthys would pan her gaze towards the direction the blade came, but would only smile.

Nephthys had one target in mind all along. [member="Corvus Raaf"].

She was not going to lose it. She had carved a path to get to her.

With her intent blazing to [member="Darth Carach"], the tiny Vahla would rush to make another leap -- this time going flying straight towards the area that Corvus was at.

She would come from behind, landing right behind Corvus, dual violet blades at the ready. Such a tiny thing. Fast. Deadly.

Merciless as she would come to swipe at the Jedi from behind from shoulder to hip.

Darth Venefica had to admit to herself she was slightly impressed by the Jedi's action. But the Sith Knight was never one to stand down from a fight, she craved confrontation in all its forms. So she raised her blade, fell into to her Makashi form and took a step forward, well aware of [member="Darth Nephthys"] coming in with a deadly strike, with no apparent help for the Jedi in sight.

She unleashed a well calculated sweep of her own blade at the Jedi's midsection, while keeping her distance from the Jedi and her weapon; ready to step back from any counterattack that could be forthcoming or being duped into crashing into the Sith's oncoming blade. Balance was the key for Darth Venefica, and she had plenty of it. The attack by the Sith Knight was intended to keep the Jedi distracted and her eyes on the Sith, while the Sith behind could attempt to deliver a crippling blow. Of course, plans always changed. And this one just did.

From behind her she could sense, the Force still shaky inside her from the Force Light, the arrival of Sith military reinforcements that would soon aid in the capture of the Great Tree. The battle had intensified on both sides and the arrival of Republic soldiers on her right side had now caused this whole situation to be tricky. She growled when she had to turn from the Jedi and confront blaster fire or risk being cut down. She batted the shots away the best she could, catching a hot glancing blow from a shot on her right forearm, as she was forced to take several steps back away from the Jedi; losing all hope of capturing this legendary Jedi Master.

Her arm burned, her pain was raging, and yet, she managed to drop a few soldiers by returning their shots back to them. "One day Jedi...one day," she screamed as she was blanketed by the Sith soldiers who began firing on the enemy.

Veino ducked as scattered weapons fire started arcing towards him and he banked left away from the city, some blaster bolts peppering the side of his speeder, and it staggered in flight. He paled, and cut the engine to a more manageable speed until it was back in control. He darted away into the branches and settled into a steadier cruising speed to come back to the tree from the far side of the forest.

He had only the vaguest idea where his opponent had gone to. Into the city somewhere, which was, for the most part over-run by enemy forces while the defense seemed to center around the tree itself. Not only would he have to drop through the darkness again to find the man, he'd have to blaze his way through the entire city. Which was a possibility. If he tossed up a Force barrier, that would block their fire. No, it would be too exhausting. He needed his strength for the battle at the tree and then the liberation of the city.

He also needed an army. From here, he could lead an assault on the right flank and smash into the lines while they focused on approaching the tree. He sat and waited, seeing if one would materialize. None did. He wasn't entirely sure what he was expecting, since this was reality after all and armies don't magically materialize in reality.

So he was on his own and while he was a knight, he was not a one-person wrecking machine capable of bashing through an entire army on his own. There was something he could do though. He could simulate an army. He'd need a better position for that though. He hit the accelerator again and the speeder shot forward, arcing between trees until he was around the backside of the city in the military staging grounds and command post.

Soldiers and officers rushed to and for, ignoring him for the most part. Some gave him a salute, seeing his lightsaber, and he returned it. Blasterfire and explosions thundered in the distance. A grizzled old soldier with general's bars waved him over. Veino paused, and then headed towards him. Even as a Jedi affiliate, generals still outranked him.

"How can I assist, General?"

The general studied him for several moments and then shrugged, pointing out a map of the city.
"Lead a sortie out beyond the base of the tree," He pointed in several locations, "We can spare two squads. Bring them back alive. Try to divert their attention and lead them away. Keep the pressure off until we can pull in other troops."

Veino nodded slowly. There was his army. If army was the right term. But he could play with a few things to even out numerical inferiority until reinforcements arrived.

A woman dropped behind Corvus, short in stature but with an overshadowing hate. Gray eyes remembered her from the raid on Ossus. Their blades had clashed before.

He leapt, the Force a river flowing through him, strengthening legs so that he might slip the surly bonds of gravity. An atari air somersault, then he was there, boots firmly planted, lightsaber extended. His chest was pointed toward the short Sith’s side, with their shoulders forming a right angle.

The bar of blue intercepted that of purple. Violent sparks flashed at their embrace.

The Jedi Knight grit his teeth and cast out a hand, unleashing the coursing river in a rush of pressurized air, powerful push meant to send a small woman flying.

Forces:
Inside the City
5,000 Wookiee Irregulars - Armed with whatever they can grab. Bowcasters and pole arms, mainly.

Kachirho was a city of levels. As the Sith assaulted the base of the tree, the women and children fled toward the top. Every Wookiee male inside the city, and many females as well, took up arms. They ransacked the armory and joined the troops gathering on the upper levels. Their numbers swelled. This was a city of thousands and to defend it would be a force of equal size. Even still, their numbers paled compared to the Sith that began to swarm inside the Great Tree. They were like a hive of termites, devouring the tree. Those who’d lived here would die before they saw their way of life go extinct.

The Waves of Darkness were terrifying, but they rallied around Jedi like Talon Vosra. Beacons of light who pushed away the darkness.

At the higher levels the darkness was less. It was here the forces gathered.

The army of the Sith, terrifying in all its might, approached with a sound like thunder as its herald and darkness following in its wake. Yet the vast array of soldiers in all their armor were confined to using the larger pathways. Pathways that had originally been constructed to relieve congestion within the city. Those paths now served to bottleneck the Sith’s advance as the Vong warriors as well as Graug were mainly purposed toward melee engagement, though even their thud bugs required a closer range than that of a blaster.

The Irregulars armed with bowcasters took up positions inside and on top of houses, firing from windows and doorways. If the Sith wanted the city they would have to take it door by door. House by house. All the way to the top.

Emerging from the Tree Line -
10,000 Wookiee Regulars - Armed with long guns or bow casters. Each carries a ryyk blade.
1,000 Wookiee Rocketeers - Armed with Wookiee rocket launchers.
2,000 Wookiee Specialists - Armed with X1 Disruptor Carbines
2,000 Wookiees Berserkers - Dual wielding Ryyk blades or kerrathorrs

Thousands of tall figures emerged from the tree line to the left of Kachirho and swept across the sands of the beach toward those Sith who'd stationed themselves on the water front. Premium property like that didn't come cheap. Not in cash. Not in blood.

The Rocketeers opened fire first with their long ranged weapons, aiming to take out large creatures like the Silviths and the Rakamats.

The Specialists, Berserkers and Regulars gathered spread out in a wave of fur. Specialists stood at the front, Berserkers just behind them. And behind those came the regular forces in a wide U shape.

As they grew close to those forces established on the beach head, Vong, turned-Graug and Royal Guards were encountered. The noble nine thousand of Ession got the relief they had requested.

Specialists wielded their X1 carbines to horrifying effect. The disruptors vaporized Sith, Vong and Graug alike with no regard for armor or might. There were always more who took the place of the fallen, of course. An incessant tide of foes. Yet the immediate effect was to open up gaps in the Sith’s lines. Gaps into which the berserkers poured with a tidal roar and crimson fury, bearing down enemy soldiers with blade and body.

Behind them was the rush of the long gun regulars, though perhaps regulars was a misnomer. Many were those who had only moments before taken up arms in the defense of their city.

The long guns barked as the surge of fur washed down on the Sith. Each gun had a capacity of ten rounds, but each round was capable of knocking an enemy soldier flat, armor or no. They used them at close range, shooting or simply swinging the heavy, bronzium frames, cracking skulls and breaking bones.

The Regulars with bow casters were divided on the right and left flanks and rained a hailstorm of green bolts at the Sith forces, while the middle lines devolved into close combat.

The Sith had the Yuuzhan Vong, the Graug and the elite Royal Guards. They had a dizzying array of invincible armor such as the crab armor, unstoppable weapons like the thud bugs and the snake-spears, and other psychological terrors that preyed upon the hearts and minds of their enemies. What had the Wookiees? Two advantages. And two only. Their strength and the fervor with which they fought. For though many had but recently seized a weapon in defense of Kachirho, all Wookiees were trained in the way of the warrior. Well did they remember what happened if they lost today.

A Wookiee defeated was a Wookiee enslaved.

And so they would fight until their guns ran empty, until their blades broke, until their teeth could bite no more, until they died in a pile of slaughtered foes. They would fight until they had pushed the Sith into the sea, or until the last Wookiee fell. For if this was to be their end, then they would have it be such an end that their ancestors would weep and the very heavens tremble with the Fanged God’s approving roar.

There were many paths of Kashyyyk.

Many ways to get to a place. Hundreds of bridges, thousands of paths, millions of branches that one could climb. An almost limitless amount of places one could go, an almost limitless amount of ways that one could turn.

The Wookiees knew these paths well.

They explored them, learned them, trusted them to never change. They knew Kashyyyk and its forest as they should, as their home. It was said that one could not travel Kashyyyk without a Wookiee guide, for to do so was to invite death upon your doorstep. However, when one was already inches close, death was hardly a thing to worry about.

Surah wandered.

Her battle with the two before had ended. Evelynn had appeared and the other within her skull had come forth, the thing that was there, that made her not be alone. She shook her head, remembering the mans words, but not wanting to. Was it possible? Was she not alone? Was there something? Or was she simply going mad? Her mind broken by the brutality of the Queens of Rattatak and everything since.

Tears flowed down her scarred and broken face, orange eyes obscured by heavy lids. Her skin pulsed and glowed, fleshy pink regrowing and knitting together, spots of acid burns permanently etched into her abdomen and elsewhere, massive patches of her robes missing, showing hideously disfigured flesh.

Sobs carried her, shaking her entire body as she wandered Kashyyyk.

The Slave moved from branch to branch, interconnected like natural bridges until she came upon the Kel Dor and his Dragons.

The final moments of a mans life, the echoes of their achievement spiraling outward in entropy, towards the release of a single instance in time. As the saber bit into flesh and organs and bone and flesh once more, Gabriel's red eye studied the canvas beneath the brush. Agonal and silent, he breathed in that last sigh of breath, the capture of the jedi's soul pulled into his own lungs through violent and obsessive inhalation. Of course, such mannerisms were merely symbolic, the lord purely a beast of physical capability. The stroke of pain and surprise was wide upon Jedi's expression, intermingling to create something noteworthy and memorable. Gabriel made promises, silent, upon falling battle mate that someday, he would know the name of the man who had followed him all the way from Zeltros. What a cruel coincidence, those fleeting moments revealed, that such a rainy night would be truest shatterpoint for this Jedi.

For a moment, he felt the slightest sting of envy, to be so cruelly pulled from the field of battle. Upon rested knee and slumped corpse, Flint had gained his freedom from a world that was so quick to chain and so quick to punish. In his own final rebelliousness towards the Sith Lord, he had relieved him the chance to deliver misery and agony. And yet, Gabriel couldn't resist the notions that such things being far simpler then his own existence, something resembling a semblance of the badump-hiss at the end of a song, to signify the denouement. amidst deep thought, as he hovered upon such notions and questioned his own bodies purpose to move and conquer, when the mind often relented, he felt the sting of something against the small of his back. As it hit, his body whiplashed and recoiled to send the extinguished saber flinging into a tree nearby, as if to find resting nest upon branch. Upon the hit, he did what anyone would. He flew forward, though through the veil of pain streaking from spine to brain, he attempted to turn his body mid air in reference to the being now tackling him. As he landed upon back, she would suddenly find the advantage of being on top of him, though he would attempt to kick her away and over head. If she wanted to tussle, though, he would have no qualms. But beneath gambeson, he felt the cloth soak upon back, as phrik cut through cloth and lower left shoulder to wound the Sith Lord. Blood for blood, a tussle was a tussle, it seemed.

And should she not spring from mount, he would attempt to reach up and punch her in the head with the armored left hand, attempting to overthrow her and reverse position with his right. He had read somewhere that you should never grapple with someone larger than you. He wondered if such arrogance would get him into trouble this day.

The slightest hint of regret was suddenly replaced with blinding anger, petulant, yet sinister in intent. And suddenly...he felt like destroying something beautiful.

Hit! Solid hit at that. She'd have celebrated if she'd actually managed the kill, but she hadn't. That and the woman fired a bunch of shots in her direction, which forced T-Eya to crouch down behind the wall crenelations and hide from being blasted in the face. She was more than thankful that she didn't get blasted in the face. Not that it really mattered when everything quickly went to hell in a hand basket and sent everyone inside of the stronghold either tumbling or flying, depending on where you happened to be.

For T-Eya, was falling. One second she was secure, the next she was airborne, falling through the trees and holding onto her QuietSnipe. She quickly slung this over her back and spread her arms out as she fell. She hit some leaves and tried to grab on, but she was going to fast and slipped off.

Needless to say, nothing really stopped her fall, but she did manage to slow it a bit until she landed on the forest floor, otherwise known as the most dangerous part of Kashyyyk. She groaned as she lay there, and then rolled onto her back and tried to get her bearings. Debris was falling down from above though, and she knew she needed to move. Something definitely felt broken, and she was having trouble breathing, but she managed to at least crawl away from the tree enough not to get hammered by debris. Now she could at least catch her breath.

They had begun to slow their pace as they approached, not wanting to draw undue attention. There were not many of them after all. As Grundyr signaled for them to stop, Kian leaned down and patted the animal he road reassuringly. Kian had been touching the animals mind for a time now and had begun to form a bond with the Katarn. As he touched its mind once more he felt it stiffen and turn its head. Kian knew it was scenting....there was something or someone about.

Glancing up, Kian saw Grundyr turn back toward him and ride closer to him on his own Katarn.

<There is someone just ahead.> Grundyr said to Kian pointing toward an cluster of heavy brush. Kian couldn't see, but he could sense. He could sense an individual approaching.....and he could sense the darkside. But it was more then that. He could also sense pain, anguish maybe. Kian took one look at Grundyr, and felt the anger rolling off of him. They knew it was a Sith as well. They were going to kill the person, no questions asked.

"Let me investigate." Kian said and he saw Grundyr's eyes flash for a moment. Kian continued before he could speak. "If it is a single person, they could provide us with good intel." Kian said. He was aware that this was likely a hard decision for the Wookie, as all around them their world was ravished by the Sith. Revenge was a powerful motivator. But, as a Jedi, Kian couldn't allow that.....and, sensing the pain of the person ahead, Kian was doubtful they would fight.

<We'll provide cover. Anything goes down, and we will kill them.> Grundyr said pulling his mount aside and signalling for Kian to proceed. Kian deactivated his lightsaber, but kept it in his hand as he dismounted the Katarn. He moved silently and deliberately through the brush and pushed his way out into the open area.

"Stop." Kian said holding his hand out and he looked at the women before him. She was a mess. Her cloths were torn, showing exposed wounds. Her skin was marred with fresh, pink burns. Acid burns from the look of it.

"My name is Kian Karr," Kian said taking a few more steps and then stopping a safe distance away from her. He could sense the Dragon Riders moving into place around them and he was sure this Sith could as well, "And I'd like you to put any weapons you might have on the ground. If you come peacefully, I can get you to a medical center." Kian said, actual concern in his voice.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

Her heart once again resounded in her ears. It thudded within her skull, pounding in her chest, pumping chemically ravaged blood throughout her veins. Dull lidded eyes had opened into large orange suns, staring at the strange Alien that had approached her. Rimmed by bright red and pink scars Surah's eyes seemed to be accented, more focused and clear than a normal humans would be.

When the man approached with his hand outstretched Surah took a step back.

“M-medical Center?” She said the word almost as though it were painful to her lips. She stopped moving however, instead she began to shake, as though she were a kitten that had been sitting in the rain for too long.

The wounds at her side ached, rimmed with touches of red and purple bruising, though a careful observer would be able to see the slow progress of skin resuming over them. Healing millimeter by millimeter as she stood in place.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

“W-w-” She stumbled over her own words, panic rising within her heart again. “Why?”

There were no weapons on her person, nothing to drop. Though she was wearing a robe there was hardly anyplace that she could hide anything, not with the large patches missing from where Dak had shot her.

The vicious defense that the Wookiees gave was overwhelming. Their desire to keep their people free from the tyranny of the Sith was rivaled only by the Sith's own self interest. Consistently, the Wookiees post much larger a threat than the Republic forces, who were there less for Ideology, and more as orders. Surely, Faye would be in much more danger if the assistance of [member="Khan Ra"] had not eliminated some of the fuzzballs.

An explosion took more of her men, along with the encampment that she was so keen on taking. She focused herself on the Force, willing to risk the death of a couple of the men still engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the Wookiees. She sent her idle hand up and sent out a push in the general direction of the Wookiees, hoping for it to at least immobilize them temporarily. Certainly, they were heavy and would be difficult to throw off the bridge with a hasty, poorly focused push.

Kian stepped closer, but didn't let down his guard. He had been in too many fights with Sith in the past to allow himself to trust that easily. But, the state of the girl seemed to be sincere. She seemed to be in pain, and she certainly didn't seem to have any bearing on where she was. Kian considered having the Wookies stun her, but he wasn't sure if that was a good idea given her state.

"You are hurt." Kian said matter-of-factly and stretched out with his mind to see if he could reason with the girl that way, but to Kian's surprise, he could not sense the young women's mind. He would have to calm her down the old fashioned way.

"I am Jedi Master Kian Karr, and I am taking you into Republic custody. You will received treatment, you will not be harmed." Kian said and nodded toward Grundyr. Two of the riders came out on their Katarn's cautiously, not closing with the Sith but flanking her so that she could turn to flee.

"What is your name?" Kian asked, turning his head sideways as he examined her.

Slowly, the jagged helm emerged from the ocean. Her shoulders followed as she crawled up the beach and took great gulps of air. Water ran down the sleek curves of her Skerr Kyrric and formed drops along the sharp spines that protruded from her forearms and elbows.

Khallesh rolled onto her back, and allowed herself a few moment to gather her strength. Their Yorik-trema had been downed just off the beast, the damned creature had writhed and lashed out as it drowned with, nearly killing them all. If they’d landed just a touch further out they would have all drowned together, dragged down by their armour. Quite an indignant death that she was glad to have escaped.

Focus! she thought to herself. Several of her warriors were close by, keeping their heads down as the waves lapped around them. There was little time for thinking at a moment like this. What needed to be done had to be done, without deviation from the task or wavering in determination. To an extent the particular task didn't matter, only that they chose it quickly and got on with it.

She sighted a group of wookies gathered in a recess in the beach much further up and pointed at them. One hand pushed her form up from the soft, wet sand, the other uncoiled her arachnostaff. She dashed up onto the dry sand, kicking foam spray all about her as she ran. The dry sand was soft underfoot, sucking the energy out of her as she went.

Heavy weapon fire hit the ground not far ahead of her, launching plumes of sand skyward. The shockwave of the impact sent her stumbling, but she forced herself onwards. Sand rained down around her, the noise a constant hiss as it rolled down her armour.

The fighting was intense. Bowcaster bolts filled the air, along with the haunting sound of their great horns. Khallesh focussed on her goal, eyes constantly fixed on the group of wookies as they took turned firing and reloading. They weren’t near the front lines yet and several squads of Yuuzhan Vong warriors were falling as the initial charge faltered.

She pressed on, even as a bolt struck her square in the shoulder, nearly spinning her about. A warrior broke through the suppressing fire and charged her targets. A woookie fell away from his amphistaff, great gouts of blood erupting from its chest. Another took its place and grasped the warrior with both hands, pulling him down.

As Khallesh screamed her war cry and sprinted across the last of the ground, the wookie pulled the warrior’s arm clean out of his socket. Khallesh threw a blast bug on a high arc, it was wide of the mark but the explosion set fire to several of the hairy beasts.

The nearest wookie looked up from its victim. The great beast, covered in black and grey shaggy fur discarded the dismembered arm casually. It reached behind its back and unsheathed a great curved blade. The businesslike manner in which it did this simple act, suggested it knew what it was doing.

As that wicked blade came around, Khallesh planted her front foot and came to a halt. The blade whipped through the air between them with an audible hiss. She danced back as the wookie came on and struck for her again, but the creature had lost some of its balance, having expected her to carry on her furious charge. Her arachnostaff struck home, the stinger plunging straight through the beast’s sternum with a crack. Even with a clear mortal wound, as well as a powerful neurotoxin coursing through its veins, the wookie managed to grasp her staff with both hands and push forwards. Khallesh was pushed backwards, her feet gouging tracks in the sand as she held onto her end of the staff for dear life. It slowed and then slumped to the ground.

With barely a pause she closed on the beast. One hand grasped its shaggy mane, the other swung her staff around. The incredibly sharp edge of the arachnostaff’s midsection cutting through the wookie’s neck with ease. She held the head high and screamed her caste’s war cry at the top of her lungs. The cry was echoed behind her as the Yuuzhan Vong surged on. Chest rising and falling fast, already wounded and exhausted from just a few minutes of action, Khallesh grinned beneath her helm. These beasts were truly worthy opponents. She prayed the battle would last for weeks.

She shifted, noise puncturing her sensitive ears. Massive lizard like things came out of the woodwork, and upon them sat two huge Wookiees. Surah looked to them, she eyed them, panic showing in her eyes for a few moments, then oddly, calm.

Her posture relaxed, her body settled.

Though they should have made her feel more stressed, entrapped, encircled, the Wookiees seemed to have the opposite effect. They made her breath a great sigh of relief. Calm settled over her, and the powerful shakes that had taken over her body slowly began to stop.

Surah trusted the Wookiees.

They had taken her in. They had helped her, treated her, cared for her, and given her a home here. She trusted the Wookiees of Kachiro, and they trusted her.

It was likely that a few of the Dragons among Kian's band very likely knew her.

“S-s-Surah.” She said quietly, finally looking up at the Kel Dor with those bright glowing suns.

Khan's eyes went wide as he saw the gazebo beginning to fall ahead. A moment later the running form of [member="Surah"] came sprinting past him. It took an extra second for him to realize what had happened; the Sith in the hood had destroyed the platform's supports, in one way or another... Which meant both it and the bridge supported by it was going to fall. The bridge he was standing on . Needless to he quite literally turned tail and ran. Between luck and speed the Felactian managed to make it back on the main platform, where it seemed [member="Faye Terrik"] was fighting the remaining Wookiees with the momentary help of Khan's three remaining snipers. It was only as he heard the gazebo crashing through the branches below and into the shallow water that he realized that that bridge was the only way he would get to the center of the city in time; that his last chance at recognition, at glory, his last chance to do something significant to prove himself in this battle was gone. All these delays! If it wasn't for these delays... He could have been the hero of the battle! There was virtually no way he could get back to where the majority of significant battles where in time- by the time he did the battle would be over. He was sure by now that the Jedi and Republic forces were almost eliminated... Perhaps he was putting too much faith in his allies? Perhaps they were failing where he had a chance to suceed? If he could get to the other control points- halfway accross the city- in time, prehaps there was still a chance yet to do something glory-worthy... He had no chance to claim a victory over one of the city's control points; Venefica had stolen that oppurtunity from him; but there may still be something....

The Felactian waved his three remaining snipers, all as tired as Khan was getting as his adreniline began to fail, to follow him- abondoning giving @Faye Terikk cover fire. She would survive. Besides the longer she was occupied with Wookiees the less of a chance she could steal his opportunities. The Acolyte quickly moved teh oppsite direction from what was left of the rope bridges, hoping to take the long way around to the center of the city.

(Sorry for any rushed writing. In short; Khan's moving towards wherever the last of the fighting is.)
