Red nodded. People were making some good points, and many of them were agreeing with him. He seemed to have caused some tension between some of the people in the room. Some of them were obviously veterans, who understood Red's tactics. Others... didn't. But none of them would be able to tell why Red was the way he was.

Kyra outburst, and the other teacher, the old guy, said something in response. He was obviously a veteran. He knew what was up.

Then, suddenly, a strange feeling washed over him. It was a soothing feeling, but Red could tell it was unnatural. And distracting. Red looked around, for the source, and then focused on Nida. She appeared to be the source. Great, just great. Red concentrated, and pushed the feeling out of his mind, creating his own little bubble around him.

Then, the instructor, Romi Jade, activated her saber. He smiled. The color... was something many Jedi didn't have, and it was Red's favorite color. People always seemed to be so upset by colors and that certain colors were "evil", which was stupid. Why would a color dictate if someone was evil or good? It was stupid, normal people were idiots.

"Nice blade color." He said.

Hmm, maybe that question was a little to... harsh, for a class like this. It was for training the Padawans in some basic combat techniques, after all. They didn't need to be thinking about actually taking a life when they swung their sabers, only of the act itself. Unnecessary distractions and hesitation were almost as bad as naivety and sloppiness, when it came to fighting.

Upon Jade drawing her saber, Lex's hand instinctively went to his side for his own, only to to realize the source of the scarlet glow. His hand relaxed on it's grip, settling to his side. Old habits, he told himself. Useful ones, honestly. He glared at the blade as Jade flourished it, wondering what had convinced her to select that color, or really how she obtained it. Sith blades emanated the hate, pain, and malice that their wielder contained, the raw emotions themselves serving to corrupt the very crystals themselves. It was what gave them the crimson color. But he didn't sense any of that from her blade. He reminded himself that colors were as variable as the stars in the galaxy, and that red blades weren't exactly unheard of in the Order. His eyes softened as she explained the lesson to the students.

"Hmm? Alright." He responded. He removed his pistol from it's holster with a flair and a spin, before letting it settle in his grip. He clicked the selector on the weapon, switching it from full power to it's non-lethal stun setting. Better safer than sorry. "It has a splitter coupling, so it fires two shots at once. Might have a little extra kick." Aiming it's toward Romi, he fired three successive shots towards her.

Ostdern for the most part ignored the side chatter from his comrades. He was intently watching his instructor. She had this glow about her that relaxed the young Padawan. However, listening to a lecture wasn't something he was interested in. A practice fight was more up is alley. Romi mentioned how she liked Kresslyn's answer though the majority had the right idea. Red's answer was a bit peculiar but as Ostdern was a killing machine on his young days in Tatooine it didn't face him. But unlike the 'future sith' he noticed someone mouth Ostdern was here to reform himself and not be so angry. Lex was asked to shoot his blaster at Romi which was shocking albeit understandable in context of this lesson. His impulses got the better of him though and he raised his hand.

"Madam, I hate to interrupt this marvel of teaching but are we going to train against each other?"

What was with time? Kat had prepared herself for the training session today and she had her fresh new Lightsaber pike. However, after taking her niece for run around the park with her sister Rose, then looking after her mother for an hour or two while her sister did some shopping, she still ended up late for the training session taught by Master Jade. She had been super looking forward to a lesson with the Jedi Master, she was initially attracted to the Jedi Master but later realised that she just super admired the Jedi Master. Master Romi Jade was a skilled and powerful Jedi Master and did it all stylishly as well. It would be hard not to admire the Jedi Master, much like Kat admired Master Coci Heavenshield though she never met the woman, but there were so many other Jedi Masters, especially female ones who were skilled and very talented.

She walked into the classroom and saw that there was many students, some she recognised and others she did not. Bowing her head, "so sorry I am late Master Jade, I promise it won't happen in the future." Kat then shifted in and stood behind Kyra and Nida Perl, she noticed that the two sisters were talking or at least sharing looks, one not pleased at someone else. Kat leaned in and whispered "did I miss much?" She asked the pair as she looked around the room, curious to see what others were talking about as Kat brushed her fingers through her hair.

The responses to question [member="Romi Jade"] asked were varied. From not wanting to take a life, clear to no survivors. A small debate sparked from this as conflicting view points collided. When people started getting loud is when Milla started to get nervous. She shifted from side to side a little as her tail stopped its excited twitching.

Milla perked up a little when Romi gave her answer some praise. She was kinda surprised actually, considering she was the youngest one here and everyone probably had a lot more experience than her with these kinda things.

Luckily the discussion was short lived as Romi moved on with the lesson. Excitement began to return to Milla as their teacher drew her blade. The scarlet colored blade didn't phase Milla. To her it didn't matter what the color of the blade was, but how one used it.

The young girl watched with wide eyes as Romi flourished the blade through the air. Once she was done, she asked the padawans to draw their weapons. Milla quickly, but not to quickly, stood up and grabbed her tonfa's. The previous excitement had returned and the girl had to refrain from bouncing back and forth on the balls of her bare feet.

When Romi asked [member="Lex Del'Fino"] to draw his blaster and fire a few shots at her, Milla froze. That was dangerous, wasn't it? Shouldn't they be using training drones for that?

Slowly but surely Kyra had scooted closer to NIda, until their knees touched and Kyra's hand snaked out, holding her sister's own. She watched wide eyed as Lex pulled out a blaster and calibrated it. "Oh no," she breathed into the air around her, her voice so soft only the people right besides her might overhear. "She really shouldn't- not Master Lex." Her whispered protests hardly mattered, because he lifted his gun and took three shots. Kyra flinched and squeezed Nida's hand. Hard.

Silence rang out in the air. Of course Romi would be fine, but loud noises such as gunfire were unsettling to children that hopefully hadn't encountered them before. Kyra sat stiff on the floor, the world wobbling around her. She swallowed hard and forcing herself to breath as the lesson carried on. Blood would return to Nida’s hand as Kyra slowly let it go. She rubbed at her shoulder unconsciously and turned to witness Kat sliding in behind them. Kyra scooted a little to make space for Kat between their knees, the padawan patting the ground in a welcoming gesture.

"Oh, not much," Kyra whispered, her voice high and light "Just talk of homicide and what makes a sith, the usual." Her gaze fell on the newly crafted saber on Kat. Her expression grew pinched, and when she spoke again it was with a great amount of effort.

"Hey. Congrats."

As Master Jade activated her crimson saber and illuminated the room, the other padawans scowled at its color. Kresslyn, however, found nothing different. Everyone in the room knew that Master Jade's intentions were fine and she'd most likely never turn on the Silver Jedi, or on any Jedi overall. While she was speaking and demonstrating how to defend, Kresslyn followed her instruction and stepped forward, activating his own bright blue training saber.

While the Master did her movements and demonstrated how to deflect the blast bolt, he mimicked her motions. Just as he began to focus, someone else spoke up.

"Madam, I hate to interrupt this marvel of teaching but are we going to train against each other?" He said.

This wasn't someone he'd met before, but he had a point. He just voiced it at the wrong time. Kresslyn did want to spar against someone, but someone of his skill and size. He was adept in force combat abilities, but not much with saber combat.

Slowly, he moved his wrist back and forth, getting used to the weight of the saber and determining whether or not he could use one or two hands, an off hand to push and pull occasionally.

After the blaster was fired three times in rapid succession, he continued to mimic the movements, waiting for the next phase.

When the other Jedi Knight, [member="Lex Del'Fino"] , pulled out a blaster, Red nearly went into commando mode. His supersoldier instincts and reflexes nearly made him begin to... Do some hardcore stuff, to put it easily. Most likely injure, incapacitate, and maybe even kill any hostiles. He went into a ready stance, and his hand went to his utility belt, where he usually kept his blaster holstered, when he remembered he hadn't brought it, or any of his other weapons, save for a few. Even if it was there, he would have assessed the situation, but not having it there allowed him to be able to realize what he was doing and stop. He was about to do it again. He was about to grab his weapon, assess the situation, and act accordingly. He couldn't help it, all of the experiments were like that, always ready for battle and to react at a moment's notice. Most of the people in the room probably wouldn't have liked it if he pulled out a weapon and was ready for combat in just a training exercise.

Red relaxed a bit, but kept his hand on the hilt of the saber clipped onto his utility belt.

Then, someone asked about training against each other. Now, that was something more up Red's alley. He already knew the basics of using the blade, even some advanced techniques, and he wanted to assess the combat abilities of the others.

Pal'ru Vadarn

Palru just kinda stood there with hand hands in front of her. "I've got a pink one." She'd whisper to [member="Subject 73 Red"] since she heard his remark about blade color. Hers was giving off a stronger Force signature than most crystals, since hers was a Dantari. And if he didn't know what that meant, it just meant it was a super rare, super powerful crystal.

Ura looked shocked for a moment, not really surprised by the back and forth, but more by the fact that [member="Romi Jade"] asked to be shot! A Force Barrier formed around the Lervon out of reflex. She just really hated the idea of being shot. Of losing some of herself. Even with the calming energy she could see coming from [member="Nida Perl"] , it didn't help. This was a different kind of fear for Ura. A more... primal fear. One most Lervon had honestly. No. She had to try and calm herself. She was learning to be a Jedi. She couldn't be afraid of a dang blaster! The Padawan instead focused on [member="Kat Decoria"] and her new weapon. She smiled and leaned over.

"A saberpike, right?"

A cosmopolitan blonde poked her head into the room. Her curiously pursed and well decorated lips scanned the room for one towering Apprentice in particular. Hmm. ...Ah! Good. There he was. Training saber and all. Mm.

Diana McClaine pulled out a her pocket phone and checked off another box on her to-do list. "#3: Check to see if Kresslyn was skipping class." Check. And it appears the studious Apprentice wasn't. Good.

Now satisfied, Diana gave Romi and quick wink-wink and then disappeared from the doorway. She had probably-important Jedi Master business to attend to elsewhere.

Probably. :p

"Nice blade color." He said.

She nodded, "Thank you." Smirking after the fact, before glancing over to Ostdern "Oh, we will. That's a must--but that's afterward. As much as I like throwing everyone to the wolves...I can't do that without at least some instruction."

Lex Del'Fino said:

"Nice little display there." noting his trick, "Got it."

The two stood and stared for what might've seemed like a long while, neither blinking -- well she hadn't.

Her lightsaber streamed up to meet the attack just centimeters from her face -- flashing through a fan of red light that moved through an arc from right to left, she sheered through the descending bolt.

Her glowing blade kept working through a furious, humming blur. Without so much as moving her feet, she stayed centered, perfectly balanced, blade never moving a millimeter more than necessary; she preserved her energy. A subtle twist of her waist, allowed for her to add a bit of force to her flickering parry. She swept her elbows right, connecting with the next set barely a centimeter from her face.

She bent just at the knee, rotating her waist she angled her wrists downward -- her lightsaber flashing a bit above her form as she caught the next set of bolts on the blade tip, sending it zipping into the durasteel plating that made up the floor.

"Alright..." a well timed pivot had her angled out towards the group as she lowered her weapon. "If you noticed, I kept my motions tight, utilizing mostly my wrists and elbows to generate quick burst of energy. Same thing goes for saber to saber play. Mounting a successful defense isn't always about being flashy...its more so about lasting."

A beat.

"So let's take this up a notch huh?" She smirked, "Offense is a bit different, more varied...but leverage is a huge component across the board. Acknowledging and taking advantage of opportunities as they arise could mean life or death. Soo, for the sake of building on what we just went over..." She stopped and motioned for Lex to fire on her one more time.

"We have our blaster wielding opponent again," She pointed at Lex, "And here we are deflecting..." She lowered herself into a ready stance, with her blade in a balanced two-handed guard, vertically, on the right of her body. She bent just slightly at the knee, and at the flash of his blaster her scarlet blade swished about in a down-turn parry slicing across, picking the bolt out of the air.

In the second to follow she lunged forward, leaping towards Lex with her lightsaber above her head. As she closed the distance she brought the length of the weapon down but stopped short of connecting her blade with any of his personal gear. She stood up, "So, I transitioned from defense to offense...re-taking control of the situation and pushing for my own terms. Also, congrats you just got a crash course in form five of saber combat. There are two variations of the form...does anyone know what they are?"

"Anyone who answers correctly, gets a meal with a shake from McYoda's on me."

Milla didn't even flinch when [member="Lex Del'Fino"] fired his blaster. A life as an orphan on Nar Kreeta made her almost immune to the sound of blaster fire. Such a life also made her more aware of her surroundings, taking in every detail. Which is why her sharp blue eyes watched each movement Romi's hand and arms made. Even noting how their teacher never moved from her spot.

Switching from defense to offense brought about a whole new stance and way Romi used her blade. A far more active transition than before and probably a little more challenging to pull off. Then again standing still trying to bat back blaster bolts was also challenging to pull off especially the more times your opponent fired.

The young girl's eyes widened at Romis question. She knew this! She had read it somewhere while picking the library apart looking for anything on lightsaber training. Well, she hoped she knew it. Milla raised her hand in the air and waved it excitedly. "Oh oh! Is it Shien and Djem So?"

It made Kat chuckle hearing Kyra comment about the class going on so far. Seems that the class was starting off well with talks on homicide and Master Jade was getting shot at by another Jedi Master that she did not recognise, her eyes were focused on the skilful way that Master Romi defended herself the multiple shots fired. Listening to the instructions, Kat gazed at her staff, it seemed that Kyra who was clearly not happy not owning her own yet with the difficulty it took to congratulate Kat on getting her own. Ura also noted the new weapon that Kat owned, she smiled warmly to her friend and nodded her head to answer the question. "Yeah, a saberpike, uses my father's staff which I figured would be a nice way for him to always be with me. Kyra, sure you will get your own soon! Also think you probably be able to beat up most of the goons here." The final sentence she whispered to Kyra with a playful wink.

Leaning back, Kat watched as Master Romi went in for the offensive against the other Jedi Master, Kat smiled as she saw how amazing it was that Master Romi was so confident and skilful with a saber. Kat had a long way to be that skilled in Lightsaber combat, when posed the question, she had to take a moment to think of an answer, Kat was familiar with Echani forms not Lightsaber ones really. When the answer hit her, someone else had already answered but that didn't bother her too much.

Ostdern was impressed by the skill that Romi displayed. It must have taken her quite some time to get to this level of training he thought. However, he longed for physical learning as opposed to simply watching another Jedi use their lightsaber. He hadn't come all this way for nothing. Ostdern noticed his display of anger and irritation and attempted to quell it. The padawan succeeded, and watched on as the two Jedi put on a show. Upon finishing she asked the class the two types of Form V are. Ostdern raised his hand to answer but Kresslyn beat him to the punch. He would've passed on the prize but he nonetheless he still wished he could've answered. Speaking anyway, Ostdern added to Cantor's answer.

"There's also a reverse variant of Shien which is a common trait among Form V practitioners. I am one of those such people."

Kresslyn turned his had at about the perfect time to see his Master poking her head into the room and moving away almost immediately when she was spotted. Probably just checking to see whether or not he was in this class she told him to go to at the last minute. Hm. An interesting and energetic Master with a definite contrasting personality compared to that of his own, but it rubbed off on him and he started to open up to his peers more often. Before he came, he spoke very little and had an outer shell. After the two had ran into each other, he was much more of an extrovert.

When he regained his focus, he found himself watching Master Jade continue to deflect blaster shots with a certain ease to herself. The key focal points to the lesson she was teaching were as follows: stay calm and relaxed, and always ensure that proper form is used. The second was was more flexible than the first due to the amount of forms there were. The first was flexible as well because some people operated even better under stress and trauma. These people were hard to find in the Jedi order and were common amongst Dark Jedi and Sith, like he read in the numerous study books in the reading room.

Once again with ease, Master Jade had deflected two blaster shots and quickly flipped the scenario into her favor with a fast would-be overhead strike. In a real scenario, this strike would've killed any blaster wielding opponent that did not have some sort of force imbued object or strong material such as beskar. This is why Mandalorians could be a problem.

When she asked the question of what other forms there were, he didn't bother to answer and only listened as a curious [member="Milla Caranthyr"] had already answered. So, he sat back and waited for others to pipe up and thought about what form fit him the most. Perhaps he'd learn today. Time would tell.

Ura watched in amazement as [member="Romi Jade"] deflected the bolts sent her way. It was just... she moved so fast. She talked about using your wrist and elbow to move quickly. Not flashy, but useful. Of course the Lervon technically didn't have wrists. Or elbows. Or bones. She then watched and Romi went back in for [member="Lex Del'Fino"] , showing off a more offensive form, but then she confused the sandy Padawan. They just went over five forms of combat!? Ura's eyes went wide as she tried to understand it. How did they just watch five forms. Poodoo she was confused now. She didn't even remember the names of the Forms!

The Lervon slunk back a bit, clearly nervous now. Heck, she was probably glowing with nervousness. She was just confused now, trying to pick though what she just watched.

Red watched the demonstrations of the forms. They moved fast, but Red was also fast. He watched and studied every single movement, even the slightest and nearly imperceptible movements. Red studied the forms. Fast and swift, now they had reached something Red excelled in.

[member="Romi Jade"] asked a question to the class, and it was answered by multiple people quickly. Interesting, they named something that isn't living, which must mean that it is important emotionally to someone. How could a fighting style be emotionally important to someone, and how could they be emotionally attached to it? Red didn't understand it, normals were too weird to understand.

Kyra had no clue what the other forms were.

She sat frozen, staring up at Romi with her mouth slightly agape. A bout of self-consciousness grew inside her gut, clashing with the wide-eyed awe that was displayed across her features. She swallowed hard, life flickering back to her stiff body as she wrapped her arms around her mid drift.

Kat's reasurances echoed through her thoughts. 'You'll get it soon!' Soon...soon... soon...

She'd never get good enough for a saber, a vicious voice whispered inside of her head.

Never mind move like that. She abruptly hated herself for all the training she had wasted. She hated that she was sitting before her sister with no discernible skills to show. And she would have to be showing them soon. Kyra could practically hear the order to pair up fall from Romi's unfairly plump lips. Kyra squirmed on the floor, her attention to the lesson lost to a wave of anxious thoughts. Her gaze flickered towards the exit, calculating if she could slip out unnoticed.

Ditching was her MO after all.

Yuroic would be so disappointed.

Good Men Don't Need Rules
After the deliberation of tactics on lightsaber combat, and the aspect of "To kill or not." Romi, followed her own advice and took control of the situation as the mentor of this group, and moved onward. Specifically to give a crash course on lightsaber combat and its fine details that are normally overlooked. Small, tight, but fast and accurate movements are required for any defensive stance. Not only because it is easier to defend yourself when you are closer to your body, but also exerted less energy, and would allow you to block not just a blaster bolt, but also allow you to block even more.

Romi further pushing onward with pushing the advantage. After the blaster bolt was fired again, she pressed. Closing the distance with a speed I had seen and remembered before. Even after being her apprentice for a time, I still marveled at how fast and precise her movements were. To consider the feeble minded "boy" she saw kidnapped, and turned into a Jedi Padawan with enough skills to handle himself, is what she could make of me, with what limited, or almost no connection to the force I had, made me realize how good of a mentor she was.

While others seemed to talk to one another, ask other questions, Romi spoke up. Asking what forms she had used. While specifically she trained me in Djem-So because of its more wider range of skills, she did delve a little into Shien. The more aggressive side of Form Five. A couple of the other students spoke up about Djem-So, as well as Reverse Shien. Wielding the lightsaber blade in a reverse grip to be more aggressive and have a much "closer" style of fighting. Where at typical Shien style play, was all about blaster defense and advantage, where as Djem-So was all about the Lightsaber aspect. Pretty much the fighting style where you had to get right up into your enemy's face. Done by counter-attacking instead of waiting for a chance to strike. Yet, I felt like the students were leaving out one important factor of the fighting style.

"You used Fluid Riposte in order to change from defense, to offence. Its one of the specific forms that allows you to change stance. Typically it is used only in the Krayt Dragon Form, but can be used in conjunction with other lightsaber forms to change. Such as using a stance in Soresu, then using Djem-So to press the advantage. Its meant for you to overcome or 'Persevere' whatever is thrown your way."

I wanted to add more. The stupid amounts of time I had been cooped up in the Library here on Kashyyyk studding day in and day out to try and catch up on what was essentially years worth of study that other students had on me, I had a knack for remembering the small minute details. Second only physically seeing it performed time and time again from Romi, only accompanied her pushing me to my limit to learn this form in particular.

While the prospect of another student asking if we would be fighting one another, Part of me wanted to shake my head. If we created bad forms or bad habits while training with other padawans, it may be trained incorrectly. Leading to failure or even... worse. However, all of us attempting to fight against Romi one on one, would tire her out. I knew her to be a Master Saber duelist, however, having to not only fight, but correct the forms, stances, and teach all these students would be putting a lot of stress on her.

To be honest, I was fine with either proposition.

"So do you plan on buying multiple meals, or just whoever got it first?"

Speaking with a light smile on my face towards my mentor, I honestly didn't mind if she wanted to get this proposed meal, but I wouldn't push her on it. Plus, I honestly didn't like McYoda's food to begin with.
