What doesn't kill you...

Looking over to the Padawans, there seemed to be a few that were knowledgeable in the various Forms. Kat was surprised that Jedi could learn so much in combat and that they could retain the knowledge. Though, she figured in a Mandalorian could learn so many combat skills while having such thick skulls, then the Jedi could learn combat well too. Ura was nervous about the blasters, which was understandable so Kat leaned in and whispered, "stun bolts don't work the same as real blaster bolts. They tend to more paralysing than hot and ouchie." She was trying to reassure her friend so she didn't have to worry about getting shot.

The biggest worrier was Kyra in front of them, the girl was ready to jump out of her place to the door. Kat leaned in close and whispered to Kyra, "Hey, so if we were to leave now, first Master Jade would see us, secondly, we wouldn't be able to find out where she got such awesome combat boots. Have you seen her style, we really need to figure out where she goes shopping!" Kat smirked knowingly to Kyra then winked as she leaned back. Raising her hand, Kat posed a question, "Master Jade, would we be able to see a slower demonstrate of the Form V? Just, I have been practising Form IV recently and not seen this Form before." Kat was prepared to learn and ask questions, she was also understanding that others might be afraid to ask similar question.

Red watched the others the pipe in their answers. He watched their body language, reading them. [member="Ura Iolar"] seemed nervous by the blaster. Strange. [member="Kat Decoria"] told her something reassuring, at least, she was trying to be reassuring. [member="Kale Seleare"] went off on a long and well explained answer. Impressive, but he also seemed to admire and adore [member="Romi Jade"]. Great, another [member="Kyra Perl"] . And speaking of Kyra... Red knew that look that she had on her face, it was a look Red and the other experiments had way too often, she was planning an escape route. Great, Red was starting to rub off on the other Padawans. [member="Kat Decoria"] tried yet again to be reassuring to Kyra, most likely saying something about Romi, who Kyra was obsessed about. Still, Red was in between Kyra and the door. If she made a break for it, she would have to go through Red. He could take her, and stop her if it came to it. No one was flaking out on Red's watch.

A smirk crept across Lex's face as Jade effortlessly deflected the blaster bolts he'd fired. It wasn't due to him being surprised by her ability or out of some kind of underestimation, but from the instant recognition of her employment of Form V, the Perseverance Form. He wasn't one to brag or boast.... well, that was a half-truth, but in any case, he was an expert practitioner of the combat style. Particularly of the Shien variant, which was most useful in handling large amounts of opponents, or multiple blaster fire. His size and natural strength also made him adept at using it.

What did surprise him, though, was that amny of the Padawans could name it. It wasn't that he thought they were dumb.... well maybe it was a bit of that. But it was mostly due to him not knowing exactly where they were in their training. The fact that they still used practice sabers made him think that they were still learning to understand Shii-Cho, the most basic of the Forms. But maybe he should start giving them more credit than he was.

"Not bad, Padawans. Most of you seem to know your stuff." He finally said, holstering his blaster and stepping towards the center of the floor. "Form V is probably the most aggressive form, emphasizing strength and domination as core aspects. When using it, you want to control your opponents' movements." He removed his own lightsaber from his waist, and ignited it, producing a bright yellow blade and noticeably louder hum that seemed to engulf the room.

Lex dropped his stance, flipping his lightsaber into a reverse grip, and holding it horizontally behind him, while with his non-dominant had he held open in front of him. His legs were stretched shoulder length apart under him, his feet firmly planted. He then performed several basic movements, at a somewhat slowed pace. The first, he brought his dominant hand around to his front in a punching motion, dragging the blade of his saber behind it. The next, he performed the same motion, but added to it by positioning the point of the saber directly infront of him, and jabbing forward. The third and final movement, he flicked the saber from behind him in several rapid sweeps, before sidestepping, and stabbing it backwards.

When he was finished, he composed himself, and deactivated his lightsaber, ending it's loud echo. "Like some of you said, Form V is split into two variants, Djem So and Shien. Djem So is more geared towards one on one confrontations, while Shien is more so for multiple opponents. What Master Jade and I demonstrated for the most part was Shien, in deflecting blaster fire. I've found Djem-So is a little more difficult to fully show off in practice without a sparring partner-" He stroked his beard as if he were thinking, though most would see through it when a sly grin would appear on his face.

"-so, to that end, do any of you want to volunteer?"

Good Men Don't Need Rules
It was easy. So easy to watch this man, Lex as he was called briefly, to move in such a form. It was fluid and completely in control. Even if it was in slower motions, it clearly was something he had done for a while. But with the asking of such for a volunteer? I stepped forward easily. A smile proudly upon my face. Why?

I had to keep that smile. No mater the cost. And this was a test for me. One that I was more than willing to take on. Romi didn't teach me to be asked. She taught me to take control of my life. Even if it was all taught through combat itself.

"Call me headstrong, but I will take you on."

Ura seemed to calm down a bit when she heard [member="Kat Decoria"] say the bolts were stun bolts. It made her feel safer. She also realized she completely misunderstood what [member="Romi Jade"] said. Form V. Not Five forms. She closed her eyes, relieved after hearing the first part of what [member="Lex Del'Fino"] . Ok. So it was one form. A more aggressive one. Not quite her style, but she could try it. Ok. Add lightsaber forms to the list of things she needed to study, along with biology. Then Master Del'Fino wanted a volenteer. Ura didn't want to answer, but someone else did. [member="Kale Seleare"] . Ura didn't really know him, but she hoped he'd be ok none the less.

[member="Lex Del'Fino"] pulled off a couple of simple lightsaber maneuvers. They were still on the basic stuff, and Red could understand why. Some of them here were just starting to learn how to fight and use lightsabers. Still, Red was past that basic stuff. What they were currently doing was kind of boring, but Red understood the importance of learning, practicing, and even more practice. Besides, Red was a soldier, and his personal opinions and feelings were irrelevant and did not matter in the slightest. So, he kept his feelings and opinions to himself, as some of the others would probably voice their feelings and opinions.

Then, [member="Kale Seleare"] accepted the old man's challenge for volunteers. Red smiled. This was going to be fun to watch. Finally, things were starting to pick up. Things were just starting to get interesting.

As he watched the demonstrations by Master [member="Romi Jade"] and the teaching Knight, [member="Lex Del'Fino"], Kresslyn crossed his arms and held his own saber in hand. Almost brand new and crafted very recently, it was quite unique and Kresslyn would eventually have to find a lightsaber form that he was the most dominant in. His physical stature would most likely call for a more aggressive form that relied on size, and his mindset complimented aggressive forms as well. He wasn't one to quickly burst into sudden rage, but when in combat he became quite agitated. This would eventually be easily used against him some day, but he'd figure out what to do when that day came.

As he concluded his demonstration of the lighsaber Form V, the Knight called for a live Padawan volunteer to assist in demonstrating what combat utilizing the form was like. So far, so good. Kresslyn liked the design of holding the saber horizontally behind ones back and whipping it around, but this would only work if Kresslyn had his saber in its compact form with one side activated. Not necessarily a problem, but he would prefer using the pike or staff form more often instead.

Then, the familiar voice of [member="Kale Seleare"] stepped forward and volunteered almost immediately. He was a brave, young soul. Kresslyn could tell he'd be a great Guardian if recruited to that division.

"Oh oh! Is it Shien and Djem So?"

"Yes, you're right. Good one Milla." She was participating - contributing with good points and asking the right questions.

Ostdern Mastogar said:
"There's also a reverse variant of Shien which is a common trait among Form V practitioners. I am one of those such people."

"Correct. You're also right on point. Form five, is one of seven traditional lightsaber forms practiced by Jedi. It is, in fact, divided up into two variants. I --"

Kale Seleare said:
"You used Fluid Riposte in order to change from defense, to offence. Its one of the specific forms that allows you to change stance. Typically it is used only in the Krayt Dragon Form, but can be used in conjunction with other lightsaber forms to change. Such as using a stance in Soresu, then using Djem-So to press the advantage. Its meant for you to overcome or 'Persevere' whatever is thrown your way."

Kale Seleare said:
"So do you plan on buying multiple meals, or just whoever got it first?"

"Well...well" She started a slow clap, mostly sitting in pride at Kales interjection. Though, he's probably had more exposure to the inner workings of this specific form than the others did -- Romi had literally been drilling it's physicality in their training sessions. "Impressive, but unfortunately Milla beat you..." She teased, "She gets the meal."

Heh.

Smirk.

"A great idea...let's watch an in-depth demonstration. Then we'll break out into a sparring session." She paced past Kale as he joined Lex, "Don't embarrass me sir. Good luck." She teased.

"I also practice Form four as my main too Kat, we'll talk more after this."

Kyra squirmed in place, Kat's words doing something to help give the girl a reason to stay.

She did like Romi's shoes. How did Kat know that? Maybe they could go shopping for a pair together later... Kyra gave Kat a tentative smile, too distracted by Kat's tactful support to notice Red's steely-eyed glance her way.

And with a deep breath, Kyra was able to turn back towards the lesson. She watched with a silence that many would call uncharacteristic. But with it came a wave of attentiveness that most could never squeeze out of the ever-moving padawan.

Maybe if she watched closely enough now, she wouldn't make a fool out of herself in a moment... If such miracles were possible, she was surely giving it a try.

She deeply regretted not paying Master Yurioc's private lessons more heed.

Things were looking somewhat interesting. Master Lex seemed to be eager to demonstrate with a student. Master Romi rewarded Milla for her answer, Kat wasn't sure about the others adding so much detail since it could confuse others who were not as well verse with Jedi combat. It was good to see that Kyra was calmer and willing to stay around. Kat figured the girl was interested in Master Romi's style since she had shown interest in Master Romi, and it was hard to find anyone who didn't think she looked good. Something of a Romi Jade skill was to look stylish in everything!

Leaning back, Kat smiled as she heard Master Romi state that Ataru was her preferred style of fighting as well. It would be interesting to hear the words of wisdom from an expert on the style. Kat watched as the other events occurred, it would be interesting to see what Master Lex had in mind and if the Padawan would cope well.
