What would scare you more?

A sith that is all muscle and 6'8" coming at you with a single lightsaber.

Or

Same sith, but coming at you with a real sith sword that is enchanted with Sith Magic to light on fire when you say a certain word (and only the holder can ignite it.) and a hammer like Thor's hammer, but adapted to Star Wars Universe.

Neither are particularly scary, but of the two -- the first. Less is more.

What tends to be scariest to people is the foreign, the unknown. That's why Evil's generally associated with Darkness -- You can't see it, so it frightens you.

A thug with a weapon is just one more thing Superman stops off-panel.

So wouldn't lightsaber be less scary since it would be common in this universe while a powerful hammar spinning at you at high speeds from the hand of a sith?

Hammer and sword would be less scary.

With a lightsaber, your oppenant has the ability to move extremely fast and strike at you in a variety of ways.

If they're handling both a hammer and sword, they're greatly limited, plus that hammer is heavy, and would be easy to dodge around.m In order to properly use both weapons, the sith would have to move very slowly, and predictiably.

A lightsaber practitionor is almost never predictable.

A sword and lightsaber would be the same in terms of speed or only slight difference and the hammer is handheld so it wouldn't really be slow. Thor didn't have the force and he moved that hammer really fast.

Even handheld hammers are extremely slow, because they're extremely heavy. If they were light, they'd be pretyt much useless. 1.) Thor's hammer was made of Uru. 2.) He's a god... with supernatural strength... >_>

Plus, I assume you meant a sith sword. Alchemically enhanced metal is pretty heavy, while lightsabers are weightless. So there's a significant difference there. :p

With swords can weigh a good 2-5 it's depending on what metals you use. A lightsaber barely weighs 1, and all tue weight is in the hilt. Not balanced on a blade.

A hammer can weigh a good 3-6 kgs. Thors was said to weigh more then two neutron stars. And well, neutron stars have the heaviest gravity in the universe other than a black hole. As well, a hammer you need to use both hands for a precise hit. If you came at me with a sword and hammer, I would beat you many times over with my training saber even when I have only used that form of combat for a total of 7 threads. (I have a grand total somewhere around a hundred)

Lightsaber all the way.

Then use just a sword or hammer. Not both.

My character is based off of Peruses from Greek myth. And I use a beskad (short heavy sword made out of beskar) and an Echani dueling shield. Even then I rarely use a lightsaber simply because I started training with swords first. Going from a lightsaber to a physical weapon is hard to transition to because of having to exert more force to get a desired swing.

You guys are presenting some valid points. Indeed a lightsaber is weightless and would be the choice if you want to go lighting quick speed, but let's be honest here and besides mace Windu rarely do you see someone wielding a lightsaber at incredible speeds.

Also in your case, you are new to using a saber in general while Area isn't so I would seriously doubt you would get in a bunch of strikes.

Though all this feed back has left me with good insight and things to research.

Ooooohhhhh I wasn't meaning using them at the same time, more like alternating or such, but the sword would be main and the hammer used when in high scale combat or just wanting to blow things in a sense.

[member="Darth Ares"] - A hammer is more a norse weapon then greek.

I'd go for a short sword and shield, or prehaps a nice spear. :p

In Greek Myth Ares had an iconic sword that burst into flames. (possible with alchemy, they even sell them in the marketplace)

You may be surprised my friend. A sword form can easily transition to a lightsaber form. ;)

As well, there are many people who are fast lightsaber users. I own two in fact! [member="Dante Zankar"], and [member="Xander Carrick"], master in lightsaber and other melee forms. Both of them have trained for years of what you are hoping to accomplish.

For now, I would suggest that you stay with a saber and later on get a sword or hammer. And preferably a sword so you can protect yourself as well as attack. Hammers are built for attacking. Not defending.

Hands down. (Also, it doesn't need to be incantation-triggered. My old scythe conducted fire indefinitely. :3)

Unless this is your saber.

I use a sword and shield combo, and there have been little amount of people able to stand toe to toe with me. Stay with the lightsaber. If you add a sword to the mix, the. You complicate things. You WILL tire faster than any of your foes who do not use your weapons. As well, a sword is slower the larger it gets. No one, and I mean no one, will keep up with a saber with a sword. And that's why they were supposed to be extinct. About the best you could find during the clone wars was the occasional vibrosword or a beskad. Sith swords were thousands of years old before revan was even born.
