What's My Line

Ana was a Jedi or was she still a witch. The young woman wasn't exactly sure. It wasn't as if she had lost her spell knowledge. Could she use both? She believed that Matsu would know the answer to such a question. Ana would need to ask about that a little later.

Lightly closing her eyes Ana tried to remember the spell that she had been taught. She could remember the one with the mist which enhanced her senses.

Focusing on placing her energy in the waters nearby Ana could see a light mist form around her. She wasn't sure if Matsu could see it but that didn't matter. Glancing around she focused on moving one of the books on the shelves to her hand.

Matsu spoke as she looked on. "Yes you can be both." her eyes remaining on her but it was more because she knew the question having asked it herself many times. She had worked hard on her own to learn different sects and skills. Being a jedi and witch was easier it seemed as her head gave a small nod. "Very good, you remember most of what was shown but that is fine always good to have the basics first then move forward." She stood for a moment before moving off to the side while she pulled at a book of her own. "Telekinesis is one of the most basic and helpful skills to know. it can serve you well."

Ana nodded at her. She enjoyed her spells just as much as much as the things Jedi had such as her lightsaber. It was nice that she could have the best of both worlds.

The young woman had picked up on the basics but wished to learn more advanced abilities. Moving things was cool but she wanted to be able to protect herself and her family from the Sith whom seemed to always be at their throats.

"The basics are most important. They are the building blocks of everything. I have been able to use what you have taught me and I have been practicing. What is the next step? What else can I learn?"

"You can learn the full basics. Many jedi fail to learn the full extent of skills and then are surprised. Being able to warm yourself, being able to regulate the air around you to keep away harmful gas, hold your breath for several hours, how to shift their momentum to make longer jumps or dodge quickly. There are skills to create the foundation but then there are skills that can be very useful." Matsu held a small grin on her face while she was looking at Ana then moved to the side a little. "Shifting your momentum for instance can make your body have strong reflexes but if used the right way allow you to scale walls or shafts... for those who don't practice witch skills. It can also be used to slowly your descent in case of a dangerous fall since all the speed going towards the planet will suddenly be going up canceling it out."

She nodded slightly as she listened. "The basics are key to everything and you can build upon them. I found for example that I can also keep others warm including myself. How does it work being both a Jedi and a witch? Do you use spells anymore? I know they are similar but at the same time quite different as well."

Matsu looked at her and gave a small nod witha smile. "Yes I do use both and other things I have learned. There are many different force groups in the galaxy and many different ways to use it." It was her time while she moved her hands about taking a moment, the green mist from the waters coming as she let some sweat convert into spirit ichor and pushed it along her skin. She was pushing the rest around her body while letting the force flow to hold her in the air before snorting two small lines of flame. "There are many ways to utilize the force and the ones who know how to use the skills differently, the ones who know how to make them their own can switch between schools of thought in harmony."

"I saw you flying earlier, would you be able to teach me to do that?" She questioned still gazing about the temple. It was so beautiful and calm here and she loved every moment of it. She knew how the Jedi used the Force as well as the witches. She wasn't proud of it but Ana also knew how the Sith worked as well. She in no way knew everything but she knew much about a little of each culture.

"Learning how to fly is not an easy feat but yes I can teach you if you stick to it." Matsu was looking at her and she stood there for a moment before floating into the air as she sat there. A small misuse of energy but her padawan was talking about flight and Matsu could teach her the basic idea. "The floating meditation is one of the most basic meditations the jedi have."

Ana nodded in understanding. She didn't expect learning to be fly to be easy but Ana was ready for the challenge. Flying would be quite the skill to poses and useful too. Ana was no stranger to hard work nor did she shy away from it.

"Meditation. That's just centering yourself, right?" She did that often on the ground as it helped her calm herself when things were overwhelming. "Do you focus on floating?"

"Floating is a byproduct of it, you focus on the world around you and on everything within it. The weight of it and how the force can wrap around and move everything. Ebb and flow, push and pull until slowly you understand that size matters not it is only the limitations of your mind. The rules still exist, gravity still exists but you are able to with the force for a time bend them to fly, bend them to soar over mountains or lift ships into the air."

Ana nodded as she listened on how she would be able to float. It seemed ease but she knew that was just a myth. There was no way that it was as easy as focusing plus focusing itself was a task for Ana in of itself. She had issues with finding peace within herself which was why she had chosen this order out of the other ones.

Taking a deep breath Ana tried to focus her energies on the world around her and forgetting everything else. As she closed her eyes she pictured herself lifting off the ground. Her feet lifted off for a few seconds before coming crashing to the ground.

Matsu watched Anastasia as she was moving about in the air to taking in her form before she fell back to the ground. "That was a good start, you will need to practice." She gave a nod and touched her feet on the ground. "Once you know how to float you can learn how to safely move, how to cushion your falls from the higher distances. It isn't always easy but some jedi have gone a great length of time doing just that."

Ana nodded understanding that she needed to practice. She would because the idea of flying high in the sky sounded wonderful. She found flying around with a Jetpack on so she assumed this would be just as freeing. Ana would need to practice more. "I can use this with others, right? I could take others with me?"

"Yes with work, you have to be able to support your own weight first. Carrying one or two others usually lighter then yourself is possible." She was curious of what she had planned to carry but that was half the fun of practicing. "Down here though you won't be able to fly to high which is good the higher up you go the thinner the air, the colder it gets and you have to plan for that. The right equipment and training."

"Makes sense, I can practice with myself and work on that at first. Baby steps. I use a jet pack at times so ya preparation is important." She couldn't get too high up without needing an oxygen tank.

Concentration again Ana saw herself flying a little higher this time. She was able to hover a few minutes before slowly coming back down to the ground. This time it was more gracefully than crashing down.

Ah well that was always a good way to catch the flying bug as Matsu watched her and stood on the ground. Her hands merely working to guide and keep a cushion in case the padawan fell while she was moving and floating. Always good to have a cushion while Matsu pointed with her finger. "Alright try and reach the top shelf of the bookcase and hold your position."

She was getting better already and Ana couldn't help but be proud of her accomplishments here thus far. The young woman always did work hard for what she wanted. In the end it paid off sometimes but not always and Ana also understood that as well.

Simply nodding she focused on reaching the top of the bookshelf and hovering there. The first time that she flew up Ana was able to hold it for a few seconds but than ended up falling down. Determined to make it to the top Ana tried once again this time found that she was more easily able to hover.

Matsu looked at her and was hovering up near the top as she sat there with her legs crossed smirking. She silently clapped a little grabbing one of the tomes on the top shelf and opening it as she blew the dust from it before she was offering with a hand for Anastasia to take tome. "Now when you can hold yourself in the air take one and read it. We'll work from here for a moment then head back down and who knows you might learn how to use that lightsaber more."

Floating back up she grabbed a book off of the top shelf before coming back down. The book that she had grabbed was a history book. It wasn't the Lightsaber one she had been hoping for but Ana still planned on reading it anyway.

"I know a little about my Lightsaber but I'm not very good at using it. I'm much better with other weapons. Perhaps I need practice?" Ana was hopeful that Matsu would help her get better when it came to using it.

"One does not always have to use a lightsaber however it is something all jedi should know how to use and use properly. It is not a matter of being aggressive, the best jedi who use a blade can do so without aggression. It is simply another tool for keeping people safe. One that like everything gets misrepresented, gets a bad reputation as a sign of weakness and aggression for those who prefer to reach for it." Matsu slid her blade out, the hilt white gold while it pulsed with the lightside of the force and was slightly more ornate but gave it a semi regal look.
