What's My Line

Ana had no plans to use the saber to harm people. Even though she was angry at times Ana didn't want to lash out at others in anger. She wanted to learn to use the blade to protect those whom meant the most to her. There were no planned crusades in her future. "I only wish to defend myself and family from attackers. We may not be aggressive in nature but there are monsters out there coming for us. It's best in prepared for that future."

She had been helpless before to defend herself from attacks on all ends but no more. She didn't need to learn how to attack, just how to defend from one.

Matsu looked at the girl as she held the blade and spoke. "That is the plan, there is a fine line. Something that jedi are told and taught but never seem to understand, a blade is not a symbol of aggression because you can use it without aggression without anger and hatred or recklessness. To use the blade means to be ready to defend and to defend means many things to a person. I defend my children, I defend my allies and my home, I can do it with the blade and disable as well as sever a limb." She stepped back and focused on the blade as the ignition switch was force ignition for her hand... The snap hiss came as the blade activated coming to bare as the white light burned with pulses of the solari crystal sending the lightside of the force out.

Ana could protect herself, her home, and her family without the force. She had been taught by nonforce users as if she were one of them. The Force she found was a tool that the young woman was able to utilize in sticky situations. It wasn't something she used on a daily basis unless called upon. The light saber she reckoned was to be used in a similar fashion or at least that was how she planned to you it.

"My brother gave this to me, it was my mothers. She and my father died when I was very little. This is the only thing I have left of her and I want to do right by it. She was a peaceful woman from what I have read. I can swing a bit but my movements are hard and rough not graceful like I see during my time here. I thought since I knew how to use a sword it would be a piece of cake however it's rather difficult."

"A sword is a very different weapon, mostly. You can translate the skills but the lack of weight is what will trip most up. It will take practice to swing for a time but as I honor my mother hopefully you can learn to honor yours. The most powerful thing a jedi can do is the center of being, it is a stance from which they can react either offensively or defensively. Can move to dodge or stand steadfast to defend. It is how one feels the force in their bodies." Matsu was standing there while she moved a little keeping the blade up a little in front of her and to the side. Her hands gripping it lightly. "Hold the blade like this and let the force flow throughout your body."

Listening to the instructions Ana took out her saber and stood the way Matsu was with her saber out in front of her. "Like this?"

Ana was able to poke and prod animals with it but to be able to actually fight a Sith would be something. She needed this to be able to protect those whom she did care about.

Matsu looked at her and moved, her blade remaining in the air with the force while she moved to put Ana into position with her feet slightly apart, her hands and saber up as the blade tilted to the side, her hand on the end cupping it and then Matsu went back to her saber and touched it for a moment as she spoke. "This is the center of being, the force flows throughout your body, it engulfs you and controls your actions. You are both being controlled and in control, connected and disconnected from the pulse of the universe. Your body will tell you where to move and the movements around you may slow down."

"Say I'm under attack by a Sith. The Force will guide my actions to block attacks and push them back?" Ana wanted to be sure that she was hearing things correctly. If she had to get violent at someone whom was after her family she would do that.

The Force she knew would guide her however she knew that there were such things as styles and ways of saber combat. What she did on a daily basis was rather dangerous. Ana would need to know how to fight back. That was just as important to her as actually finding peace here. This place certainly gave her that.

"It can help you but it is not a crutch. You can let it guide your hand to work with your instincts and style. The forms of combat jedi learn are very different and some made for offense and some for defense. It comes down to what you can do and what helps you best. When you are attacked by a sith, attacking is not always the best method as they can play off that and your aggression but defending and countering, you can use their power against them to protect yourself, to protect others."

It seemed almost as if using a lightsaber was much like using any weapon. It wasn’t a crutch but a tool to help one in battle. Ana always relied on her other skills to help her in battle that were of her own. She had in her free time been learning hand to hand combat and sharpening her skills. It was important to her to keep up on those skills.

“There are situations in which there is no other option other than to be aggressive. If your outnumbered you have to be aggressive and wipe them out before they wipe you out. It happens all the time in war. I doubt we go to war much. I like this order because of that simple fact. It’s peaceful; I want a little peace in my life.”

"No... No aggression, one does not need aggression to fight. It is a lesson the jedi are taught usually some of them though not all. You can fight you can use your skills but aggression, wrecklessness those are dangerous and will twist what you need to do." She was there and moving keeping her saber still but her hands glowed shimmering with green light. "The spells of the witches can be used to maintain your grip and increase your speed, enhance your senses and sight or you can use it to alter the field by using your feet to run up the walls."
