Wheel of Time

Things were changing in the core, and not for the better.

Darius watched as the black-armored stormtroopers walked down the promenade of the business district. Just a week ago, and those men would have been detained for being so brazen. Things were not so clear cut anymore. With the New Republic's fall from its seat of power, the imperial powers had come together to pick apart the corpse before it had even the chance to go cold. Dozens of Jedi Knights and men and women of import had disappeared in a matter of days. The Republic's leaders had caught on after things had already fallen to darkness - the only option that remained was to retreat and regroup.

Live today, fight another day.

Such thoughts passed absently through the exile's mind as he strolled deeper into the darker corners of the city. Carida had always been a place of discipline, but even this military jewel had its seedy underbelly.

The robe-clad warriors was heading straight for his favorite cantina on the planet. It was there that he would meet with his contact, a meeting he was dreading, and hopefully find out what the next imperial move was. It was unfortunate that his heavy thoughts kept him distracted, and made him a rather easy target for anyone with a deft hand...

Larisa had been given very clear instructions by Lyn. Stay put. That's all he had asked of her so naturally she had ignored him and gotten herself stuck on another world with another underground that just so happened to be crawling with imperials.

She couldn't get a solid job, no one in their right mind hired a street urchin and she couldn't get a job in the underworld either, Tojua had contacts across the globe and if he got wind of his traitorous little tracker girl she'd be a dead girl. She sniffed, ducking out of sight as the stromtroopers passed, slipping out into the moving crowd once they had. Several purses and a few jewels found their way into her stachel as she slid between the people, thinking little about what she was taking.

Larisa didn't really think when she picked pockets, she felt her way through the day. Lyn told her she had the force and she had scoffed at him, but if she took a moment to think she'd realise it was what had kept her alive all these years. She bumped into robes, uttered apologies and moved on, with something cylindrical in her hands.

Larisa stared down at the lightsaber wide eyed, then stopped to look round for who she'd just swiped it from. If it was a jedi, she could tell the troopers, earn herself a little cash...or maybe they'd whisk her away from Carida. If it was the other kind…

Survival instincts kicked in and Larisa tucked the saber away and bolted.
