When Two Angels Meet

I smiled a little to help her keep her confidence up. I then stood and aided her in standing as well. She had called me master, and while that was true, I was going to be her master, I didn't want to think of this as purely a teacher and student relationship. For her to trust me, she would need to feel as though I am a friend to her. As well as I to her. It would help her and aid her in the fall to the dark side. "You may call me Master if you wish to do so, however, I rather do not like that title."

Indicating for us to walk somewhere, "Call me by the name I gave to you. It works all the same."

Ilanthria nodded, smiling a bit. "Darren then." She walked slowly beside him, playing with the small bronze ring on her finger. she and her padawan friend Elara had found a box filled with rings in the catacombs below the Ossus temple. The same day that her darker thoughts had begun to emerge. She suspected that something in the depths had changed her, but she wasn't certain what it could be. "I have been experiencing a subtle change in thought and mood for a month now. I cannot determine why it began. But it has, and I can no longer avoid what is happening in my mind."

As the two of us walked side by side, she confirmed by calling me Darren. It felt weird to say in the least. But it also felt good. Almost as though every time she said it, I was loosening the chains that held me down. When she spoke of about a month ago feeling different because of her mind changing, I looked to her. she was playing with a ring while she spoke. I looked at it for a second, however I let it go for now. Knowing that the ring within her grasp would help me in her conversion to the Dark side. I could almost feel it. Despite this, I smiled, "Really? Then why did you not go after those feelings?"

"I did not want to see where they would lead me. I have known many people in my lifetime, Darren. I joined the Jedi over fifty years ago. In that time, I have watched others around me descend. I have watched them turn on each other, and hurt anyone in their path. As I spoke before, I have greatly dreaded the final outcome of this path. I may always dread it, even if it is only a small percentage." Ilanthria explained. She couldn't always help this feeling, though she did her best to stay in a positive and optimistic state-of-mind.

Nodding my head, I spoke very calmly considering I was a Sith Lord. "Your friends and comrades all fell head first. Diving in to try and experience all the desires and pleasures of the Dark Side. Flooding their system in the dark side, forcing themselves to go insane or worse." Indicating myself with and open hand to my chest, "Others like myself have slowly integrated ourselves into the Dark side. Taking it one step at a time. Learning to control one aspect, before moving on to another." I turned my head to her as I spoke. Truly meaning the words I spoke, "I don't want you to become flooded. So we will slowly integrate you to the dark side to avoid this problem."

Ilanthria sighed. "Alright. I will trust in what you say. What must I do first?" She asked. Part of her mind was seriously questioning her logic, while the other half was telling her that this was the right thing to do. She didn't quite know which part to listen to. She'd been becoming more and more confused lately thanks to the constant conflict in her thoughts.

looking to her, she wanted to start now? Okay fine with me. But I mean on the first date?

Nodding my head to her, "Can you use your emotions to fuel you in battle?" I turned to look to her and stopped. If we were going to train here, then might as well stay in the park where nobody was here. "Using pain, anger, even sadness or sorrow to increase your capability to continue in the fight?" Drawing from my back, I pulled out the Echani VIbrosword. While yes it was long and unwieldy to some, for me it was normal. "That is if you want to do this here and now. "

Ilanthria held up a single hand and shook her head. "We do not need to begin now. This place is not an adequate location. There are too many Jedi to discover us." She did not like to be secretive, but if anyone of the Jedi order were to discover what she was doing or planning to do, the consequences would be grave. "No. I have never fought in such a manner before. I do my best to avoid conflict unless absolutely necessary."

Nodding my head, As she was right. I almost gave myself a face palm as I was so confident in myself as a swordsmen that I didn't think about the Jedi that were here. Putting my sword back where it belonged, I cocked my head to the side, "A Jedi Healer I suppose? As well, I have a place that might work. However it is at my actual home. That is the only place I can think of that can be adequate enough to have no one around us." I then opened my hand and continued, "I mean if you have another place in mind as we have just met.."

Ilanthria's smile grew. "Yes. I have basic skill in the art of Force Healing. How did you know?" She took his hand. "If you believe that it will suffice, then I will come with you." She knew that in normal society, it was questionable when a woman went to a man's house. But she had a strange sense of trust around Darren. She'd only just met him, but she felt that he wouldn't hurt her.

I smiled as she took my hand once more. This time we would be going to my home. Indicating behind me, "Well then let us be off." Once more we started to walk again when I decided to answer her question, "Oh, I knew you to be a Jedi healer by your actions. Making sure that you are not harming others, as well as you said you are not a fighter. There are few classes within the Jedi Order that pertain to those two. Jedi Healer is the most common." I smiled at her enough to possibly get a reaction from her,

"My place is on Kashyyyk. Its secluded and high in the mountains where it is hard to find, and harder to access without the right things." I decided to tell her where we were going just so maybe if she wanted to get otherthings first we could. "If you need to get clothes or anything else, we can stop buy and get those items for you." I didn't know how she lived her life. She was a Diathim. And for some reason we were still holding hands. But I wasn't complaining.

Ilanthria didn't have much in the way of personal belongings. Only four garments to wear, her lightsaber, and now the ring that was on her finger. They wouldn't be too troublesome to gather. "I only possess a few items. I shall gather them from the Temple and meet you back here. If you come with me, there will only be questions." She said. Though she spoke of leaving, for some reason, she lingered.
[member="Darren Shaw"]

I nodded my head as she mentioned how her items were within the area of the Jedi. Meaning that if I got too close, I could be caught, and questions I don't want answered will be asked. I nodded my head as Ilanthria spoke of going. Leaving me to go and gather her gear, but yet she was still with me. Holding onto my hand. Was there an attraction towards me? Reluctantly I slowly released her grasp within my own. and nudged my head in the direction of the temple. "Well um, Go and get your things. I'll be waiting here for you."

Something seemed different about the woman. When she grabbed my hand to trust me, she didn't let go this time. As well, she lingered when she should be going. I weighted the ideas and options of her actions. trying to figure out why the sudden change in attitude towards me.

Ilanthria blinked. "Oh. Yes." She said this in an almost bashful manner before walking swiftly back toward the temple. She would have to go inside and collect her things without being suspicious. As she exited the park, she slowed her pace, and appeared to be perfectly normal and leisurely. It wasn't difficult to navigate her way through the long corridors and open areas to reach her quarters. Within five minutes, she had everything packed. As she made her way back to the main entrance, a fellow padawan stopped her. "You're leaving already, Ilanthria?" They asked. She smiled. "I am afraid so. A dear friend of mine has asked me to accompany them on a journey. It will be long, and difficult. He suggested that I come and meet him now so that we can gain a head-start." The padawan nodded. "Okay, then. Good luck, and may the Force be with you." With a warm thank you, Ilanthria exited the temple. She didn't like lying to her fellows. But it had to be done. She walked back into the park and found Darren. "I am ready," She said.

I waited.

While Ilanthria walked off towards the temple, I moved to one of the benches in the park. Sitting down, I pulled out a datapad. Typing into the device, I made notes about who she was. Where she came from. as well as the actions she took. But most notably at the end, I marked down the word 'ring' with a question mark after it. Wondering why the ring was being fondled with almost constantly by the woman. Following that were the markings of her attitude changing. From one of kindness, to almost being attracted to myself. It took only a few minutes to write it down, but I put the datapad away as the Diathim was within my sight.

Once she reached up to me. Her voice spoke of being ready. I nodded my head as I indicated northward, towards the space port, is the direction that we needed to go. "Then we shall go." Deciding that because she was holding my hand last time, that maybe it was because of the physical contact that made her trust me. With this, I offered her my hand once more. Testing on what was happening. Wondering on her decision.

With a warm smile, Ilanthria accepted Darren's hand once more and began walking with him. Many people saw holding hands as some sort of taboo for friends or strangers, often assuming that there was something deeper between the two in question. But Ilanthria was a different being. She was known to greet everyone with a smile, or a hug. She could hold their hand and speak to them as if she'd grown up with them instead of just met them. Her kindness and empathy was quite well-known amongst the Jedi.

She took my hand once more. Willingly she smiled as well. Walking down the street as we held hands, It looked almost as though we were together. But that was not true. We had just met. Despite this, I smiled as well. It had been a long time, Very long time since I had held hands with someone. "Please tell me Ilanthria, how is it that no one has taken you on as an apprentice, yet you are a creature of beauty?"

[member="Ilanthria"]

"I suppose it is because I have spent so long with my studies. I have read and observed every piece of Jedi history and teachings, as well as research on the Force itself. The knowledge was so extensive. Yet it still left so many questions unanswered. When I finally did complete my studies, it was in the middle of a war. When one war ends, another begins. Many masters have been constantly busy in this regard, and I did not wish to be a burden to them." Ilanthria spoke. It was not in her nature to bother others when they already had many more pressing matters than her own.
[member="Darren Shaw"]

I smiled. Knowing that she was years older than myself. If she knew this much knowledge on the Jedi, Then her study was one that lasted a very long time. As well she didn't like to bother others. "You didn't want to bother them? As much knowledge that you have, you lack in wisdom to believe that." I turned to her. Trying not to sound rude or condescending. "The Jedi Master is trained and having the ability to teach you is something that they must learn. They will trust you as you will trust them."

as I spoke my arm moved to indicate the Diathim as she walked beside me. "Their purpose is to train you. So if you bothered them with training you, the worst that could happen would to be told no." My hand then shaped into a stop sign, "I mean no disrespect to you and your studies. It is good that you have done so. However, going to learn just from tomes and datapads is not the best way to do so."

[member="Ilanthria"],

Ilanthria nodded in agreement. "I understand this. I have only recently begun the search for a Master, you see. Research can only bring one so far. It seems that I am more... nervous, around the Masters." Though she could speak to strangers and lesser Jedi with ease, something about Masters always made her slightly on edge. Perhaps it was for fear that she would say or do something that would displease them. She was never quite certain.
