When Two Angels Meet

I chuckled as she said that there was a fear of talking to masters. Continuing to walk. I let a silence fall between us. Only for a second, and then I spoke. "You know, I am a Master." Looking to her, I gave her a quizzical face. "I am a Rogue Master of the Force." I turned trying to hide a smile on my face. Clearly I was failing. "You were talking to one and didn't even know it."

A look of innocent surprise covered Ilanthria's face, her jaw dropping slightly. She hadn't even felt his Force power. Of course not. He was probably hiding the bulk of his signature to draw less attention. She turned her gaze straight forward as her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. No words came from her mouth.

I smiled. looking back to her as she was silent. and yes, for once I could see a real emotion on her face. One that was of embarrassment. Stopping, I turned myself to her. "No, don't shy away from me. I am only Darren. The difference between you and I, is the power of the force in which I hold. You have a lesser amount at the moment. and that is nothing to be shy about." I reached to her face and pushed it up a little so I could see her eyes. Softly I did this. "Even masters are normal beings of the Galaxy. They are not gods or beings of divine right. They are mortal like you and I."

Ilanthria stayed quiet as Darren gently made her look at him. It was a bit strange, as he had to reach up slightly because of their difference in height. But it did make her feel less embarrassed, and she was grateful for that. "I know. But, you know so much more than I..." She said softly.

She felt that she was inadequate to me? Knowing more than her? maybe. Experience? then yes. I let my hand fall to my side as she spoke, and to this I returned. "Yes. And it is now my job to help you to learn." I smiled to her trying to lighten the mood. "Don't think of me as a Master. Think of me as Darren, or even as a friend." indicating with a nudge of my head to my left, "We are almost to my ship. We can either keep going, or we can stop here and figure this out now." Shaking my head, I wanted her to understand that we would only learn at her pace. "If you want to continue on we can. But being scared of a teacher, a friend, and an ally, is not going to help you on your path."

She sighed and smiled. "Yes. A friend. Darren." She would do her best to focus on him being her friend, and not on him being her master. She couldn't forget it but she didn't have to concentrate on it the whole time.

I smiled nodding my head as the woman called me a friend with a smile as well. Every time she spoke her soft yet sweet voice made me want to smile brighter, as well as her smile. Despite that. I still smiled and started to walk backwards, leading her to the ship, "You ain't never had a friend like me." I chuckled and started to pull on her just a little, "Come on, We have stuff do to, as well, I need to get home before Jax gets hungry."

[member="Ilanthria"],

"Jax? Is he a friend of yours?" Ilanthria asked Darren. Perhaps another padawan he had taken on? Or a son? Possibly a pet? She always liked to wonder who and/or what was behind a name.

I smiled brightly as she asked what Jax was. I slowed down and looked at her. "Jax is a pet of mine. A friend that happens to be force sensitive to a point. Mostly know as a Night hunter, or a Malaaraas." I shrugged my shoulders lightly. "Fairly large and they usually hunt in packs because when alone they are pretty weak."

[member="Ilanthria"]

"A Malaaraas. Deadly together, vulnerable alone." Ilanthria had never see one before. She'd read about them, and seen pictures, but never one that was living and breathing. She wondered about it as they neared the landing area. So many new things that she was to get used to. So many things...

I nodded my head as she spoke the words out loud of the Night hunter. I waved my hand as we were in front of the YT-1300. A very old ship, but was refitted to be faster and more reliable. If it could survive over four hundred years of punishment, then it was a worthy vessel in my book. I stood by the side of the ship as I led Ilanthria up the ramp into which I followed her up. With a second wave of my hand, the ship closed up. At first the place was pitch dark except for the glow that came from the angel's body.

In a second afterwords the lights came on illuminating the place. I slinked past her towards the cockpit. "Do you know how to fly a ship?"

[member="Ilanthria"],

It was a relatively small craft, but there was enough room for the both of them. Ilanthria shook her head. "Though self-aviation is one of my skills, I have never mastered the art of piloting a vessel." Flying with wings was much simpler, and much easier to maintain.

Nodding my head, I lead her towards the cockpit pointing to the co-pilot seat. "Well here is where you will sit." I then moved to the pilot seat and sat myself down. "And I will sit here." I turned to the console and pressing a few buttons to check the systems, it came in return with a beep to let me know that it was working properly. "Now, once we are in hyperspace, you can go anywhere in the ship. Make yourself at home."

I then began to lift the ship off the ground as the engines purred loudly.

Ilanthria sat down in the co-pilots seat and buckled herself in. She'd never actually rode in the front of a ship before. It had only ever been in the passenger compartment of transports, or the bed compartments. Her eyes watched in silent fascination as the ship flew into the planet's atmosphere. It was beautiful.

I turned to look at her face. Filled with amazement to see the stars ahead of us. I smiled. tapping her shoulder to look at me. "Hey, push this lever down." Pointing to a lever between the two of us, I wanted her to activate the hyperdrive and send us hurling into space many times faster than the speed of light. "When you do, look out the viewport."

[member="Ilanthria"],

Ilanthria obeyed, and pushed the lever down between them. A small gasp escaped the Diathim as the ship flew through hyperspace. It was blue, and in constant motion. She gently reached up and placed her hand on the cold glass of the viewport. She'd never seen something so breathtaking before, and she had seen many things.

I smiled as her face changed from that of questioning, to that of amazement and grandeur. I smiled as I leaned back in the seat. Watching her face and the reaching of her hand to the viewport. "Those are the the star systems we are passing. Hundreds of billions of them."

[member="Ilanthria"]

"There are so many. It is hard to believe!" Ilanthria exclaimed softly. How wondrous was it to know that there were millions of systems, filled with life, that they were passing in mere seconds? It boggled the very sense of reality!
[member="Darren Shaw"]

I smiled greatly as she was fascinated with the fact of how many people there were in the Galaxy. "Yes. There are many. I have been to a lot, but it would take eons to see every planet in existence." Smiling I reached out and grabbed her hand, "Out there, you can be anything you want. Just work towards it, and you can achieve anything."

[member="Ilanthria"]

Anything she wanted. "Want". A new sensation for Ilanthria entirely. It was a strange and wondrous feeling. Like the future was sprawled out at her feet, waiting for her to take a single step in any direction. "What a magical thought..."
