Who are you to change this world, silly girl? (Tarissa)

Galina caught the look Siobhan had given her and cringed internally. That would undoubtedly be a most unpleasant conversation when that occurred. It certainly was a conversation that she didn't look forward to in the least.

For the record, this writer knows all too well Galina would not only be unhappy working with Elanil, but there was also a real chance she'd punch her within the first hour together in the same room. The young redhead did not have the patience to deal with that level of arrogance and bitchiness. Much less the insults that no doubt would have passed between them. Those two would be a most unpleasant pairing, and there would be blood drawn in short order with them.

"Yeah, the rumors about Elanil make me want to slap the woman. So, I highly doubt that would end well." Who knew what would happen in the future? Right now Galina honestly didn't look forward to ever having to be present with that woman.

She gave a nod, "Logistics would work. I'd be all right with that." The idea of traveling with Siobhan and learning beside her also sounded like a good idea. "I'd rather like that, going with you and mum on business trips and the like." Though that would, unfortunately, mean that she was going to have to get over her fears with spaceflight. Sooner rather than later it was a must.

"I think that would work well, and I'd probably enjoy it too." Or so she hoped. "Judah?" She'd heard the name before from Siobhan but had yet to meet him and knew next to nothing about him or his company. "I don't know him. Though, I don't see why it couldn't be beneficial to learn from someone outside of the family."

At some point a solution would have to be found to the Elanil Saedaris issue. Direct intervention might be necessary. The scientist was over a hundred years old and still a virgin. This was most unhealthy. The Order would have to show her what she'd been missing.

"Excellent. Judah's a good guy. He runs Salacia. They do salvage work, undersea mining, build space stations and so on. They're also a pioneer in green energy. Tabaqui's practically their company planet." After all, someone had to protect the natives from Jedi Lords. Siobhan was happy that there was at least one person in this corner of space outside of Tygara who was sensible.

"I believe you're making a good start, Galina," Tarissa interjected and arose. She was naturally not going to say anything nice about human males because she was so misandrist she made Siobhan look like an equal rights advocate. "I shall be taking my leave. Duty calls. It was nice meeting you, dear. Perhaps I shall see you at Court or my estate soon. Siobhan has my number if you need anything." Such a nice auntie.

Yes, at some point they would have to no doubt, team up to finally get Elanil to let her guard down and allow anyone to get close enough to her to even dream of crossing that virgin line. Elanil had yet to see the point of such activities. But alas that's another woman and another thread to play out.

Galina nodded, "I see." She bit her lip a small bit thinking about it. She wasn't entirely sure she had enough knowledge about the galaxy to venture out and work along side someone that she barely knew. Someone that had no idea of her situation and how far she'd come, and why she didn't possess the common knowledge that most girls of her age in the galaxy knew inside and out. For the last thing, she wanted was to look the fool or to admit just how little she fully grasped some things. Nerves really and the usual teenaged doubts were all it was. "I don't know if I'd be particularly useful with Judah. Still, even observing, there's a lot to be learned. Especially when he has such a diverse company, covering so many fields." She sighed, "I've never been far from home without at least one person I know alongside me. I just worry."

She smiled as she was pulled away from her thoughts and doubts, "I truly appreciate the help today. Thank you, Tarissa." And the thoughts of hunting with Tarissa, or seeing her at her estate, Galina was looking forward to those moments. It would undoubtedly be incredibly exciting even if she weren't fully aware how to behave along side the Eldorai noble, in either situation. Sure she'd come far in a few hours, but there was still a lot for her to learn. "I look forward to seeing you again. Perhaps we can arrange a hunting trip soon." Now that would be quite the adventure.

"Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone, dear," Siobhan said bluntly, though not unkindly. "And I didn't say you should leave the nest right now. And I'd send someone you're familiar with along with you." She glanced over to Tarissa. There was a flicker of something on Sio's face. "Yes, do come by again, Tarissa."

"I'd love for us to hunt together. Perhaps Siobhan can come? I've never gotten her onto a horse," the Duchess spoke. Having exchanged pleasantries, she walked out. However, Siobhan followed her. "You have a well-mannered, good-hearted daughter. She needs to get over her shyness and see the real world, but it's a promising start."

"I see she's taking quite a shine to you," Siobhan remarked caustically.

"I've been helping her learn skills she'll need as a queen. Moreover, I treat her like an adult."

"Are you implying I'm coddling her?"

"No, but all birds spread their wings and leave the nest. There's a strong burden on her shoulders. The sooner she learns to carry it without help, the better." They were both standing very close now.

"And I guess you're the selfless counsellor who only has her own good in mind? I'm many things, Tarissa, but I'm no fool. She represents influence. Potential power. The sort of thing you always wanted. Sigma is not an Eldorai planet, and it's not gonna be a site for your next holy war just because Anya isn't giving you what you want."

"My, my, you're paranoid, dear, chasing phantoms. Perhaps you simply can't stand the thought of her looking to someone else for guidance. Do you think so little of me? Sigma is a planet in need of liberation and I desire to help."

"Spare me the bullchit, Tar. The innocence routine doesn't suit you. If you want to help, good, but I'm watching. And I won't let anyone hurt or manipulate my little angel. I don't care about what title they have. This is my family. Understood?"

"Implied threat noted. You're fortunate I'm not petty, stupid and cruel like my mother. Young Galina will be making her own decisions one day, even if neither of us like them. All we can do is prepare her for what's to come. May Ashira cast her light upon you, for the night is dark and full of terrors." The Duchess kissed Siobhan on the cheek and departed, her dress fluttering in the breeze.

Galina nodded to her mother's words. However much she might not like the idea of stepping out of what was comfortable, eventually she was going to have to do so to progress in her life.

She did giggle at the idea of Siobhan joining them on said hunting trip. She didn't imagine Siobhan having much of a good time doing so. "That might be easier said than done, my dear." She replied sweetly.

When Tarissa started to leave, and Siobhan followed after, Galina had the sense to stay put. After all, the tenseness in the air was still somewhat tangible. She figured this part of the conversation wasn't for her.

For the moment she got comfortable on the couch and waited for Siobhan's return. She had a feeling that little conversation about Tarissa was bound to happen right after the Eldorai left the Villa. And it was in her best interests to make herself easy to find because trying to slip away to avoid this was a rather bad idea. It was just prolonging the conversation, no doubt.

The conversation began without preamble. "Tarissa knows courtly life and royal politicking very well," Galina would probably hear Siobhan's voice even before she saw her mother step into the living room.

"She seems genuinely fond of you," that admission was rather reluctant when Siobhan limped inside and sat down on a couch. "She's also manipulative, cruel and a religious fundamentalist. She'd do anything to gain power." Why are you sleeping with her then?

Galina exhaled softly, and nodded to her mother. "Yes, I noticed. She seems to have a wealth of knowledge on the subject matter."

Only then did she look over to her mother. "I got small hints of that here and there in our conversations. She's a good deal more harsh and cruel than I think I could ever be." This was a good thing. Galina had planned to choose her own path, which lay somewhere between who she was now, and the kinder side of Tarissa, if it could be considered such.

"Which leads me to my next question." Galina sighed a little, "If you think such, why do you sleep with her, mum?" Oh, this was bound to lead down an interesting, uncomfortable and embarrassing situation for all involved.

"Aren't you supposed to be sweet, innocent and embarrassed by sex talk?" Siobhan exclaimed. Her daughter was not supposed to ask her about her sex life! Of course, it was totally different when Siobhan felt like bombarding the girl with too much information about her nocturnal activities.

"She does...excite me. She's good in bed, a passionate lover and, well, she does have a nicer side. And less smug when I tie her up and spank her." She would not admit that some of Tarissa's darker aspects did attract her. Or that she resembled Adril. "We've got history. Slightly awkward history. It was before I got together with your mother. If she tried to hurt you, I'd kill her without a second thought."

Galina smirked, taking some pleasure in making her mother possibly a touch uncomfortable. "Me? Innocent?" She was grinning at this point, "Of course I am." Galina then winked, "I do have to tease you from time to time though."

Galina shook her head, blushing as Siobhan explained why she kept Tarissa around. There were two ways this conversation could go. Galina could change the subject, or she could inquire further to push the boundaries with her mother. Galina was going with option two, "So you just like her tied up, and spanking her, but otherwise, don't like her? She'd have to be awfully good in bed to warrant putting up with that."

Galina then shrugged, "You forget, mum, she has me to contend with too if she dared try to cross me. And she'd be a fool even to dream of it." Her tone was fierce, confident; she clearly meant every word.

There was a wicked smirk on Siobhan's face. "Here's a hint: The more smug and arrogant an Eldorai matriarch is, the more she turns into the most submissive slave when a 'monkeigh' dominates her in every way. Tarissa is...very adventurous," she said knowingly. She pointedly left out the fact that sometimes Tarissa was on top.

However, her expression grew more serious when she absorbed Galina's last words. There was no joking around now, the normally shy, bookish girl was showing a hint of the leader she could be. "Good. Now you sound like a real Kerrigan. We don't bend, break or bow. Anyone who crosses us is destroyed."

Galina shook her head knowingly, "Mmhmm, that explains a few things around here. And a few of the nightly activities I hear going on. You guys aren't as quiet as you think." She said a bit playfully.

With her mother's change in expression, Galina's playfulness of knowing far more than she let on slipped away. "I've not broken after all I've been through, it'd take far more even to come close, and I feel sorry for the one being that dares attempt it. I may be all sweet and kind most of the time, but when push comes to shove, I'm not someone to be trifled with. People underestimate me because I am quiet. I seem shy. But it's not that at all. It's simply listening and observing. You learn far more about a person by the way they hold themselves; their expressions speak volumes more than their words." So the little redhead seemed to be far more calculating than one would expect at first glance. One had to get to know her, to know this about her, really know her to even have a clue of the depths of her knowledge and understandings of people.

It was easy - and foolish - to mistake someone who was quiet for shy or meek. Not that Siobhan had ever thought of her daughter as a weak damsel. Otherwise the girl would not have survived for years on a hellish island. However, she had probably underestimated her a bit.

This was only natural because Siobhan was a very extroverted woman with an ego that could fill a whole room. "Beware the quiet ones, huh?" Siobhan quipped, incidentally referencing a trope. Remember, kids, tropes are addictive.

"Many people will underestimate you. It's something you can use to your advantage. They see quiet and think it's weak or naive. It will cause people to let down their guard around you. Much like many looked at me and just saw an oversexed battering ram who can only solve problems by punching someone and spreads her legs for anything pretty and female," she chuckled at that.

"Between you and me, I deliberatey play it up sometimes. I'm quite happy to let pompous elves think they can wrap me around their finger by sleeping with me or giving me silks, gems and pretty girls."

Yes, it most definitely was a foolish mistake to ever assume that the quiet one in the room was the weak, shy or meek one. No, the quiet ones heard much, knew many secrets and knew just how to play people. Galina had been at first forced into a role of observing since she knew nothing of society, but now she'd had a few years of doing so and learned oh so much in that time.

"Exactly, mum." She replied, "It's already come to my advantage. And I intend to fully use it and peoples' assumptions of me to my advantage. It's easy to assume a lot of someone who says very little. It gives me a chance for more than a few surprises and to gather plenty of secrets. It also lets me hide my hand until the second I'm ready to play it." Nope, Galina certainly wasn't as quiet and innocent as she'd been letting on for a while now.

Galina giggled with her mother, "Yes, I've noticed that. They are making quiet the mistake to assume that about you. But it's useful. It all has its uses."

"These skills will serve you well as a leader, be it in business or politics, dear," Siobhan said approvingly. She still wasn't thrilled about the whole idea of Galina possibly becoming queen, but she felt more comfortable now that she had satisfied herself that Galina's heart was in the right place and she wanted to save her homeworld, instead of just wanting a crown.

Moreover, though inexperienced, the girl was not naive or foolish. Of course, Mummy just had to troll her. "So, Galina, since you're so grownup and terribly interested in my sex life, I have to ask: Have you ever been...intimate with anyone? Do you fancy any of my harem girls? Or perhaps an Angelii? I have it on good authority that they get very randy in the barracks."

Galina nodded, "I hope they will. I do worry about the future you know." She sighed as a grim expression crossed her features. "I just want to free my world from the war and tyranny that it's been under for so long. I just want to help my people. And the last thing I want to do is fail them when they so desperately need help."

Then the conversation turned a bit embarrassing, well embarrassing to Galina. She quickly flushed a bright red shade, nearly the color of her hair. She looked down fast, to avoid her mother's gaze, "I ... uh... I, I haven't mum. I've not been with .... anyone." She then shook her head, "I've not considered them, or anyone else for that matter mum. It hasn't been on my mind." She gave a shrug, "Not only that but virginity is ... It's something on my world that a great deal of importance is placed upon. So, I haven't looked for anyone, or given much thought to having sex myself. I'm not sure who I'd want, or desire, or what I'd like." She sighed, turning a brighter shade of red, even her chest now seemed red, contrasting so brightly against her purple gown. "I've not even kissed anyone. So, sex is a bit further than I've ever considered or given thought to."

"Oh, sweetie. You haven't been with anyone? I thought...," Siobhan trailed off, looking very surprised. She snorted when she heard about virginity being prized.

"Let me guess, since your homeworld is run by patriarchal pricks they preach nonsense about how a woman must keep herself 'pure' for 'her man', who's obviously allowed to do what the hell he wants. Typical primitive manlings who fear our strength. An emancipated woman takes charge of her own sexuality." There was a strong note of disdain in her tone.

"You're a smart, kind and, dare I say, very beautiful young woman. Actually, screw that, you're gorgeous. Besides, you're a badass with a bow and arrow. If there's a girl that hits your fancy, you know you can talk to me. It's...not healthy to deny yourself." Siobhan probably had some rather odd views. "To find pleasure and joy with the right woman is a beautiful thing."

Galina looked a bit ashamed to hear her mother's reaction. "No, I ... I haven't. Not with anyone." She whispered in reply with her eyes firmly glued to her feet, not wanting to look up and feeling a bit awkward and uncomfortable with the admission.

The redhead nodded, "That's pretty well it. It's more important among the royals. To ensure the purity of the line or some such like that. I don't know."

Hearing Siobhan's praise did bring a smile, making Galina feel a little better about the subject. "Thanks, mum."

She nervously bit at her lip, as she thought about the rest of what her mother had said. "I just don't know about this stuff. I'm not good around other girls or guys. I never know what to say or do. And I'm not sure if I'm even ready for going that far, to having a relationship much less sex. It all just scares me a little." She admitted ever so quietly.

"It can be scary, yes, but also very fufilling. There's nothing more beautiful than sharing another woman's love and bonding with her," Siobhan was evidently channelling her inner romantic.

"Or, you know, making her scream your name at the top of her lungs when she climaxes." And her inner perv. The fact that she only talked about women was not accidental. Post-mind meld Siobhan was bisexual, but she didn't see her male lovers as any bit equal to her. They were simply walking, talking vibrators.

"Believe it or not, I used to be shy and a bit awkward. Took me ages to muster up the courage to tell Adril how I felt about her, and even then it was kind of accidental. You know you can always talk to me about this stuff. I have a lot of experience! And there are many girls here who'd help you out." Probably in a more hands-on way than Galina would be comfortable with!

Galina nodded, she still wasn't looking up. At the mention of making a woman climax, Galina cringed. "Muuum..... That's a little too much information. I so didn't need to hear that. Though, that explains a few things." She said with a shake of her head.

Then she looked up, "You? Awkward? Shy? Nope. I don't even believe that for a minute." The redhead was still more than a bit red herself. "A lot of experience, this I don't doubt. And I'm sure there might be, but yeah ... I don't know that I'm ready for that kind of help, mum."

"It was a long time ago. I also used to be monogamous. Or tried to be. I must've been crazy then. Monogamy is monotony," Siobhan declared authoritatively. Sometimes having a sexually liberated, frankly oversexed mother could be rather embarrassing.

"So...you mean I shouldn't book you a session with Chesna or Harmony? They're very sweet and could teach you all about making love to a woman, dear. Or Elpsis. She likes animals as much as you do," Siobhan said with a completely straight face. Maybe now Galina would be lobster red. It did not occur to the matriarch that being intimate with your mother's harem girls might make your daughter a bit uncomfortable! Then she burst into laughter. "Kidding, dear. Well, mostly. It would do you some good to socialise more with girls your age though."
