Woo! Omega Prizes!

skin, bone, and arrogance
On further reflection, there will be no vote.

The flagship will be constructed using a silver reward as originally decided by the staff.

There are reasons for this that will become apparent if you'll be patient and trust me. If you aren't willing to do that, I don't know what to tell you.

I am willing to take suggestions and advice regarding what to do with the second silver reward. You may continue that discussion here.

For now, the gold reward will remain in the faction safe until a decision is reached how to spend it.

Thank you for your efforts on behalf of the faction. If you need something to do in the meantime, please feel free to assist with one of ongoing faction threads -- for instance, this development thread, this memorial, this dominion, or any open thread from this list of faction threads.

Just a question, but would it be possible to take the Omegium ore won from the event and refine it into a lightsaber crystal, perchance? I wouldn't know if a writer would have the permission to do that, changing the ore itself into something more refined and pure, a more powerful substance for a lightsaber. Or, do you think it could be just stuck in its metallic-looking form with its properties. Thoughts on this, anyone? Opinions would be greatly appreciated! :) Thank you!

We're doing this, right?

Seriously if we can wrest it away from the GA and Mando's then knock out ANOTHER 200 posts we can have two flagships.

Also a chance to settle some old scores with the GA.
Since we'd have to use one of our Omega prizes on a random wildcard ship, over whose stats we have no control or knowledge, I am not keen on participating in the treasure hunt. Then we'd still have to use a second Omega to get the second flagship.

Granted, though I'll note that any ship made by Ajira Cardei is more than likely to be well within standards. It'd also make for a good story.

If all the Omega rewards are already accounted for, then that's a moot point, of course.

They haven't been spent although they have been more or less planned out. I'm just extremely wary about spending one on a flagship about which we know nothing. Their tech may be reliably decent, but I can't be the only one who remembers the magnificent trolling that is the Sith Empire archive heist :p The risk of a quirky cool whatever turning into a giant 'fuck you' is just too high for my taste.

But what does everyone else think?

I concur with [member="Natasi Fortan"], I believe that the First Order should make a ship off of its own back, rather than relying on the development of others. We have the posters, and we could knock out 200 posts in a matter of days, (with a caveat being that it'd need to have a lot of action to make said thread short).

That being said, I think it'd be fun to get involved with our simpleminded well accomplished counterparts on the board. Plus, there may be violence, and I've been itching to burn something.

To clarify my point on the matter, I absolutely agree that we should sub our own flagship (especially given that I plan on drawing up a ship for that express purpose). I just think, assuming we have enough rewards to go around, that it's well worth jumping in that thread and going for two flagships.

One made for the First Order by the First Order, one acquired by fighting off a bunch of other folks. Would make for great contrast during a fleet review or some such. I will note again I have complete faith in Ajira to make what will probably be the most powerful ship on the board (until I get done with my design).

I have some vague ideas, but nothing drawn up yet. I won't really be able to get something more concrete until I have time to work on it with proper internet and on a proper computer.

That should be about two or three weeks from now.

I've been playing with two main ideas during downtime on watch. The first is of a large ridership, carrying 4-8 gun-heavy corvette-sized ships. I like the concept but it's not particularly Star Wars-y.

The second is a more traditional Executor-type vessel, just 5k of guns, armor, and shields. An all-rounder of sorts, taking all the best lessons from the Concordia, Darr Itah, and so on.

A different direction entirely could be possible. I'd like to give it something unique and First Order-esque, which right now makes me lean towards Quintessence, though what we could do with that I have no clear idea.
