You Got Something I Need II (Coryth)

Oh, how the mighty fall.....

That wasn't what she expected. Mirien had expected a momentary slip of Coryth's uptight and holier than thou ways. She did not in anyway expect a blood bath. The redhead hardly seemed capable of it. Then again this might be the first and last time where Miri underestimated red-head rage for the powerful force of nature that it was.

As the room started to shake and tremble, the roof threatening to give way. Mirien did the only thing she could do. She severed the connection between Coryth, Siobhan and herself. Instantly, she reached to Siobhan's mind, enveloping her in a blanket of love and affection with the force, sending her every loving thought she had in her svelte body. It seemed the natural thing to do, countering such powerful darkness and evil with love. It made sense, right? Well it did in her mind. And it was the most powerful emotion, and feeling she could counter it with. Somehow that just felt the most natural to her.

A hand reached out, physically gripping Sio's shoulder. "I'm here." She whispered quietly. "Just reach out, I'm here for you." She said a little more firmly feeling more confident in herself at that point. "Just hold to me and I'll pull you out of this hell."

This one really wanted to use a cool Dark Phoenix gif, but once again their computer is being a queen and not working anymore! So alas they will have to do without.

As Mirien reached out into Siobhan's mind, a connection was built. The raging Dark Jedi suddenly found herself covered in a warm, soothing blanket of love and caring. There was such gentle warmth that for a moment the chaos inside her mind was held at bay and the darkness receded. A moment passed, then Siobhan looked back at Mirien. Mentally they were inside the wrecked town that had fallen to Coryth's wrath.

There was a smile on Sio's face when she beheld Mirien. There was something deeply loving about it...but it was also cruel and predatory. "Why pull me out, my love? I don't need saving. None of us do. Look at what we can do together." Overhead storm clouds had formed and then there was the crack of lightning and the roar of thunder. A powerful storm was brewing.

"We don't have to be afraid anymore...of anything, especially not our power. Anyone who defies us will die. You said you love me, so join me and we can be queens. We can harness Xerexes' knowledge and be together forever," with every word she spoke her excitement seemed to grow. Moreover, the storm raging around her become more and more volatile, laying waste to what was left of the city. "Maybe we can even enlighten Coryth...Jedi, Sith...they'll all fall before us."

Mirien had hoped her love, and presence would be enough to pull Siobhan back from the brink. Alas it did not happen that way. There she stood at Sio's side in the middle of the wrecked town, with so much blood, and bodies littering the streets. "Because this is not you, Siobhan. I know you. This is not your path. You helped me find my way back once after such horrors. I'm not about to leave you now."

Mirien sighed, "Think about what you are saying Siobhan. Would you really want to push Coryth down such a path again. She's been here once, and loathes herself for this past. Impressing our will upon her, or anyone else is not what we do. You're better than that. And while I do love you Sio, this is a path I cannot walk should you go down it. I know what it leads to, and there are lines I will not cross. For I would be such a monster, cruel, and vile. You cannot give into these thoughts, love. You can't. Come back to me now. It's time to leave this place." The woman whispered softly as she started to give Siobhan a gentle tug in the force, trying to pull her back into reality.

Mirien's words seemed to give Siobhan pause, planting the seeds of doubt inside her mind. The storm continued to rage around them and grow in intensity. Buildings had not just been collapsed, but completely and utterly obliterated as the raging tempest swept across the land. Bodies caught in the maelstorm were ripped apart and turned to dust. Siobhan paid them no mind, for they were insignificant and beneath her notice. However, as the land was set ablaze and lightning cackled, Mirien would remain untouched by the violent storm.

Perhaps there was something inside Siobhan that made her hold back in her rage. Something that made it impossible for her to raise her hand against the woman. "Always wanting to protect me...huh? I could give you the world...I'd give everything to you...I'd make you a queen...and yet you dare defy me..." Siobhan hissed through gritted teeth, her eyes seemingly ablaze with fury. As she spoke there was the roar of thunder. An entire building was torn from the ground by the force of the wind and tossed through the air as if it weighed nothing, then broken into pieces when it smashed upon the ground. The howl of the wind was like the shout of a wrathful goddess.

She raised her flesh and blood hand. For a moment electricity cackled across her open palm, as if she were preparing to launch a blast of electrical judgement and burning wroth upon Mirien. Then...instead of striking her with the power of the Dark Side the hand touched Mirien's cheek. Shaking strongly Siobhan took a very deep breath. "I...I can't hurt you. You'll always catch me if I fall?"

Mirien stood steady in the middle of the storm that grew and raged around them. She had yet to really bat an eyelash at what was surrounding them both, for she trusted Siobhan not to harm her and trusted the love between them to keep her safe.

Feeling the rage rise within Siobhan, still Mirien held her ground her expression not changing in the slightest. "Of course I do, I love you. If I didn't I wouldn't dare stand in this storm to try and protect you.. And yes, I would defy you, to save you from yourself, when I know you are so much better, with a good heart and a good soul. You are better than this path. You have two daughters, a loving family. Would you really leave them behind? They would not follow you on this road, and you know it. Galina especially. You'd be the thing she fears most about the force. You'd break not only my heart but hers as well." Mirien said loud enough for Siobhan to hear her over the roar of the window and the building crumbling to the ground. Mirien's expression growing sadder by the moment as she spoke.

The Inquisitor's eyes moved to Sio's hand as the electricity moved across it. Still she did not move, once more standing her ground. If Siobhan did attack, Mirien was quite likely to just take the hit, then deal with what came after. But that wasn't what happened. The slightest hint of a smile formed upon her lips as Siobhan caressed her cheek. Reaching up, she laid her hand upon her lovers. She gave a tiny nod, still holding Sio's hand to her skin. "As long as I live, I will always be here to catch you, should you fall. I promise you." She said quietly. "Because I love you, I'll always be there."

It took time, but Mirien's words seemed to find resonance with an at first confused Siobhan. Gradually her rage melted away like snow before a supernova. "Mirien...I love you too. If you stumble...I'll always be there. Let's go," then she suddenly kissed Mirien with reckless abandon as if nothing else mattered, as if the raging storm did not exist.

Then again, right now nothing else did matter. Light would engulf them and then they would vanish from the ruined town, awakening once again in the basement with [member="Coryth Elaris"], who would now finally get to participate in the plot again!

There was little Coryth could do during the ordeal, except send all the warm, powerful lightsided energies she had flooding into her beloved friend. When Siobhan came to, the redhead grabbed Sio's wrist, and entangled her fingers among the Countess'. "I'm here, Sio. If there anything I can do to help?"

She only paused briefly, "Are you okay." All the features on the Firemane's face and body showed just how concerned and worried she was about Siobhan. Please be fine .. Please be fine... I'll never forgive myself is she turns to the darkside because of my memories.

No .. She shook off that line of thoughts as fast as she possibly could manage. Not going to think this way ... It's time to be positive. Coryth sighed as she then glanced to Mirien, "And you? Are you okay, as well?" Gods it was bad enough to share these memories, now ... Now I feel horrid that someone else had to experience that same pain. That isn't fair. Not only that, but gods that was my biggest mistake. Lives lost, that were wholly innocent, killed upon my blade. I .. I can't do that anymore. And I never wanted anyone ... ever to see that horror, my shame. Another sigh, "But I did it. It's a part of me like it or not. And I am so far from who what woman was and why she was the way she was.

Mirien breathed a sigh of relief when Siobhan spoke finally. The kiss took her by surprise but she quickly wrapped her arms around Siobhan, pulling herself closer to the Countess as she deepened the kiss. As she pulled away, she reached down and took Siobhan's hand, squeezing it gently. "Thank you, Sio. That means more to me than I have words to express." The ex-spook whispered, as the slightest hints of a smile tugged at the corners of her lips before fading as she turned back to focus on the task at hand. "It's time to go, love. Let us least this place behind." She said kindly as Mirien helped to guide Sio back to reality.

And then, there they were once more in the basement back at the Villa. Mirien in reality now reached out and took Siobhan's hand. Anything to show her, she was right there for her. As she fussed over Sio, she heard the healer's voice. Pursing her lips together, she glanced over her shoulder, "I'm fine, unharmed. Just ... exhausted. No biggie. Worry more on Sio, I'm sure she could use some assistance, more than I am able to offer here." She said with a final sigh.

"I'm...alright. My head hurts," Siobhan spoke with a deep groan when she finally realised that she was back in the real world and her girls were talking to her. She was grateful for Mirien's fussing and gave the brunette's hand a tight squeeze. "I was...stranded in the town, it was horrid, I wanted to keep on killing, but Mirien saved me and brought me back."

Presumably this would make Siobhan get even mushier about her dark angel. "Coryth, what you did was wrong, it was a horrible atrocity, but I don't hate you for it. We've all done our share of horrible things, felt the same temptation." Uncertain about what to do she leaned forward and planted a kiss on the redhead's forehead.

Coryth's stomach had been tangled in knots with the stress and nerves, wondering what Siobhan would think of the horrors. Still she only wanted to soothe away Siobhan's pain. "Okay, I'm sure we can find you something for that." The redhead said quietly as her dear friend went on. As she described the details of what happened, Coryth cringed, unable to help but feel responsible. "I'm so sorry, Sio. I'm just ... just glad Mirien was there to bring you back. You didn't deserve to go through that."

Truly Coryth had just been keeping up a brave face, and after Siobhan spoke, Coryth burst into tears. "I ... it ... It shouldn't .. have happened. None of them deserved that, none of them. They were innocents! I was ... Was supposed to be helping them, saving them and .. and I killed them." The tiny woman's cries grew, sobbing harder and harder as the moments went by. "I ... I ... I wasn't ... supposed, to make that kind of mistake. It's my life, my oath to do no harm. To help those who need it most, no matter what. .... I failed them, and ultimately failed myself and those I loved." She choked hard on her sobs, coughing and sputtering for a minute, "I'm not ... not supposed to do things like that.... So many innocent lives and .. and I didn't care. It never should have happened, never ... never would have if I hadn't ... if not for ..." Coryth couldn't say it, couldn't say it at all as she finally just broke down and buried her head into her hands. Nothing had she ever done in her life, had ever been so terrible. And there was nothing the small woman regretted more than that event. In a single moment everything she had held dear, seemed to snap as she went on that rampage, killing so many people. It was something she'd never forgive herself for and she knew it.

Mirien smile softly to Siobhan, still greatly worried about her if truth be told. She was her girl after all. The brunette squeezed Sio's hand tightly in return. Always will be there for you, Sio. She said brushing against Siobhan's mind.

Then focus shifted to Coryth and truth be told, Mirien had little clue what to say or do as the woman broke down. Sure she had done horrific things on her own, and Sio had as well. But it seemed deeper and more personal for Coryth. Mirien suspected with Coryth's beliefs that this was something that shook the very foundation of who she was. She sighed softly and reached out slowly, to try and take a hand of the redhead's. "Coryth, I know it hurts. And I know you deeply regret what happened. We're not judging you, not at all. Stars only know how much Sio cares about you. She's done her fair share of awful things, and so have I. We're here for you no matter what. And I realize that might not be much coming from me, considering my past, but I'm trying to make up for that too."

Thanks for helping. I...kind of love her, you know, Siobhan brushed against her lover's mind. This one would find it hilarious if Mirien was all 'duh, knew that all along'! The Countess did not really know how to deal with Coryth's breakdown. Both she and Mirien had done their share of reprehensible things, but it was far deeper with Coryth. After all, they were acclimated to killing, Coryth had based her entire persona on helping those in need and giving aid to them.

Wherever possible, she tried not to kill, even when dealing with evildoers who clearly deserved it because to her it had to be a last resort. Thus murdering hundreds of innocents, people she had sworn to protect, in an outburst of wrath had to shake her to the core. With a sigh Siobhan reached out to gently grasp Coryth's other hand. If her mind had not been elsewhere, she would have thought it sweet how she and Mirien worked in tandem. "Mirien's right. What you did was horrible...but we understand why you did it. Our own hands aren't clean. Not at all. I guess that might be not much comfort, if any, but I'm sticking by you. You've done so much to try and atone for your past. It doesn't change how I feel about you."

Coryth drew in a breath trying to compose herself as best she could. Still, she sniffled and sobbed, hardly able to help it. This single part of her past hurt so much, and cut so deeply. It was sheer luck and determination that really got her past that moment. That, and Andreas finally pulled her from the depths of her sorrow and anger. Even that moment had been horrible, simply because she'd almost killed him in the process, but that was it took for her to finally snap out of it and come back to who she was.

Her eyes moved as Mirien took her hand. It was an odd gesture. Given their past, a part of her wanted to pull away, but at the same time in that moment she really needed that simple gesture. She squeezed the woman's hand gently in return. "It took everything I had to get past this the first time, and nearly killing the man I loved more than anything else in the galaxy before I could come back to being who I am. I just ... I dont know how to deal with this. I really don't. Still hurts so much."

At Siobhan's touch, she was quick to squeeze the woman's hand in return. "I appreciate that. Sticking by me. Didn't expect it from either of you after all of that. I'm sorry I hurt you through that, Sio. I'm sorry." Tears still flowed so easily down her cheeks, but she seemed to somewhat be calming down.

At this point, Mirien was kind of at her limit for comforting and pep talks. She had little clue how to settle Coryth down and to get her to stop crying. Maybe hold her? I don't know what to do, Sio. Mirien softly brushed against Siobhan's mind to let her know her own issues with what was happening.

I mean, what do you say do that? Because honestly, Mirien had no idea.

So she sat there, still holding Coryth's hand, not pulling away. Though she did give a small shrug, "It's not the worst thing I've seen someone do, and still stood by them, Coryth. So, why woudn't I stand by you? The broken nose? One, you healed it and two I deserved so .... that's just water under the bridge, and we are two people starting at zero. Least I can do is offer what comfort I can. Even if it isn't much at this point."

This is...super awkward, Siobhan thought to herself. She needed a day off or two after this. "You two really aren't that dissimilar, you know," she commented. "And Coryth, stop torturing yourself over this. Self-flagellation doesn't make what happened go away. Or bring those who died back to life or even make you feel better. Trust me on this. I betrayed people to the Sith and got my sister killed back on my homeworld, was a common thug on Nar Shaddaa, murdered two Jedi whilst being misled by Shadow and got thousands of soldiers killed on Gehenna."Perhaps not the most inspiring pep talk, but she was trying. On the bright side it gave her two girlfriends something to bond about!

"All you can do is move on, make sure you never make any innocents suffer like that again, try to make things right. You're still pretty amazing in my book. You both are."

Super awkward was a mild understatement. Coryth shook her head and sighed heavily, still crying. "It's not what I'm supposed to do. It goes against everything I am, Sio. I just can't let it go so easily. It's not that simple." Nothing ever was, "And it's not that I don't feel for your circumstances, I do. I just, it still haunts me. So, moving on isn't as easy as you'd think and it took so long to put it aside the first time, took so much." Once more she shook her head, "It's just going to take some time to put it back aside now. I never expected to relive it again. It's just going to take a while."

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Mirien lifted a brow, looking to Sio. A part of her wanting to protest that not too dissimilar claim. Because she in no way was a goody two shoe, jedi. Not now, not ever. She's kinda stubborn. Mirien had to comment to Siobhan.

The former Inquisitor sighed heavily. "Coryth, if you knew half the things I've done. The things I remember, are horrendous. The things I don't, even worse as I keep discovering tidbits of my past. If I can get past that level off hell, you can too. At least it's just one incident, not hundreds. That and you got past it once, you'll get past it again. I also get the feeling that you had few people to support you besides Andreas, between what I know of you, and your memories I just get that from you. You have far more people who care and support you now. You'll be alright. In time, I have no doubt of that."

She is. So are you, darling, Siobhan remarked. They were not at all like an old married couple. And I know, you're totally not a goody two shoe Jedi. You're dark and lovely. Presumably once the holocron was finally finished Siobhan would be coming at Mirien with all her lovey-dovey guns blazing. After all, she had to reward her somehow!

"Miren's right. Coryth, no one's expecting you to 'get over it' from one day to the next. But think of all the people you've helped since then, me included. Mirien can get past the hell she unleashed, so can you. The past haunts us, it doesn't have to define us. And you have plenty of people who care for you now," she said, taking a sip from her glass of water. Damn, this was a lot of talking! "We can get on with finishing the holocron if you two like."

Coryth gave a shrug brushing away a few tears. She certainly was being rather stubborn about it. "I guess." She finally said. Then another shrug, "Might as well get on with it. Then I can go home for a while, and sleep. So, let's get it over with." Clearly the redhead was not happy, and that wasn't going to change, at least not for a little while.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

I'm not that stubborn. Mirien had to protest a little bit. Oh boy, this just keeps getting more awkward. Is she always like this? If truth be told this was starting to become the last place she wanted to be. But without further protest, Mirien just waited for Coryth to drop her defences once more, before diving back in. After all, there was a job to be finished and she was hardly done.
