Ysalamir Bubble Negation

[member="Trenchcoat Man"]
I'd argue more that it prevents midichlorians from doing jack all. The can't communicate or function whatsoever. Think of it like a radio jamming signal. You can try and use the radio all you want - turn the knobs, boost the signal, switch frequencies - but until that jamming signal is gone, you're SOL.

The page is here. The specific passage that explains the ability is as follows:

Ysalamiri did not actually negate the Force; since all existence was infused with Force energy,[2] this would not be possible. Rather, they projected a bubble inside which users were unable to exert any influence over the Force. A single bubble measured up to 10 meters in diameter; large groups of ysalamiri could extend their collective bubble by kilometers, but only in great numbers.

Oh, no. I meant specifically the "frequency" and "midichlorians" bits. Apparently, these little jerks have been around since at least 1992, which predates the midichlorinal and the Yuuzhan-Vong "Force frequency" developments to the Star Wars mythos.

So, I guess, it really is just a handwave power, huh?

I really think you're misreading my tone.

In fact, I'm going to have to insist you read over my posts again, and this time, keep in mind we're not at That Guy's Craftshop. :p

Edit: Or, y'know, if you're unsure by what I meant about something, just ask?

I either read or heard somewhere that the nexus-ey Sith Swords still retain their properties beyond the bubble. Is that true?

That was my terminology. That's the only way I can think of explaining how they work, is all.

I'm not sure, but I guarantee that you can't use the ability while in the bubble or while the nexus is in the bubble whatsoever.

I used to "go here", but then I lost interest when I realized people were more likely to just be interested in trolling, insulting, or godmoding how super awesomely cool their character is, and how their character is sooooo much cooler than everybody else.

So now once in a while I swing by to remind people to be polite, considerate, and caring towards their fellow players. Because I inevitably end up just trolling myself. Because lets face it, you guys don't want to change. :)

If someone can be goaded into an argument in relation to being told to play nice, who do you really think is itching for a confrontation?

I'll give you a hint. It isn't me. :)

Was gonna quote a picture on here to reprimand, but I'm likely to shove my foot in my mouth and wind up in trouble...soo...no.

See all? I am learning! Lmfao

And alright, heres a better counter, a homing projectile that tracks Ysalimiri genetics, therefore negating the bubble in its entirety.

*All rights belong to [member="Arrbi Betna"] [member="Trenchcoat Man"] Fabs (whose name is far to difficult to type) and everyone else!*

Lmao.

Honestly though, I'm gonna make that.

But no other cool ideas I can attempt to work out/make?

If someone starts throwing around buzzwords in an attempt to get a reaction from people who are having a productive conversation, who do you think is really the troll?

I'll give you a hint. It isn't Tsavong.

That... won't work. I'm not sure, but I doubt there's a homing missile that can do this. Virus? Bacteria? Chemical Bioweapon? Maybe. A missile would literally need to be able to take a sample, analyze it, and THEN have the necessary ability to track and kill the target. It would need to be able to approach a possible target, take the samples, and then analyze them. There's not enough fuel and there's no way a processor designed to blow apart on a missile module is going to be able to do all of that in split seconds, much less sit there for a few minutes in midair to do all of that first. This is Star Wars, not Loony Toons.

A droid designed to home in on it would have the same issues. You'd have better luck with a viral agent. Also, the Mandos have beskar plated and sealed harnesses. You're gonna have one hell of a time getting through that. Best throw rocks instead.

You could create a pathogen that affects them and spread it, thus killing all of the species who aren't currently in sealed harnesses. Thus, they wouldn't be able to breed and would eventually become extinct. But that's kind of radical

Kind of
