J.Reaper

leave no one behind
reaper did not feel anything towards hurting the girl, it was regrettably that he had to but he felt nothing and did not think much about it, he jumped back quickly as his blade shined from the light, he dashed a second time not caring for anyone ells, the man was a target, nothing ells, if people got in the way they would have to go the same way as the target, he did a couple of quick stabs towards his stomach as he spinned quickly and pulled out his dagger that was still resting on the hip and aimed it towards his throat.

Dûvain

[member="J.Reaper"] had to get close to the place where the kid had fallen in order to take that swing at @Dûvain. The Jedi Masters had run like cowards, and Mara would remember that. She'd remember the feel of the hybrid's mind dominating hers, too. But some of her newfound grudges wouldn't have to be remembered.

A small vibroblade hissed to life in her hand, and she slashed at Reaper's ankle, right where mobility demanded a gap.

he saw the girl aiming towards his ankle so he quickly jumped back and stopped his attack otherwise he would be inches from losing his ankle, he looked at the girl then at the man, he noticed that they did not attack back except the girl, he grinned as he walked back, and slashed his blade quickly towards the ground inches from touching before he sheltered it with his dagger, he clapt before taking of his helmet and sat down on a chair behind him and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lighted one as he looked at them both "hmmm you dont like a sith do you?" he said with a calm and collected voice while taking a drag from the cigarette, he looked at the girl then back to the man, reaper still grinning towards them.

Mara D'Lessio Merrill

It took a good deal these days to get Sarge out of Protectorate space; for obvious reasons. Running a government that had been hemorrhaging money into a military industrial complex took a toll on man-hours and certainly kept you from having free time in any meaningful sense of the phrase. But if one thing was going to get him to move, it was going to be the word that Mara had made an appearance in the galaxy at large.

No, not the ex he'd left to be with @Cira.

His goddaugher.

The one that had been born out of Sarge's desire to impress upon Jorus that karking with Sarge was probably the last thing you wanted to do. An immature means of handling the situation, with hindsight, but it had made its point.

And allowed Jorus to have a child whom, from what Sarge could tell, had only improved his life. So... maybe the message hadn't turned out as intended. Semantics. He had been about to show up without his armor, but once he'd translated in system on the small frigate word had come up that perhaps things might be a little dicey down below.

So that's how it came to be that the massive, power-armored form of the Lord Protector came to be in a Zeltron nightclub with a glowing halberd in hand. His attention immediately alighted upon [member="Mara D'Lessio Merrill"] and [member="Alna Merrill"].

Everyone else could get the kark out so far as he cared. There was a faint wash of static before the narrowed blue lenses of his helmet regarded [member="J. Reaper"] and then [member="dûvain"]. "Step away from my goddaughter." The mechanical voice booms, immediately arresting the attention of the room with sheer volume. "And put the knife down, Mara."

Apathy did not adequately describe the mixture of callous disinterest and derisive disregard that had collected in these short moments upon Dûvain's soot-hued features. The hybrid's previous step back in order to give the mother a clear line of fire on the imbecilic commando positioned him away from the girl and the new entree.

The towering creation's eyes glowed like maleficent coals, the only true emblems on his person of the arbitrary animosity he harbored for all present. "Nice job breaking it, Hero." How often had that role been played out by the Jedi throughout history? There truly was nothing new under the sun.

The proximity of the sirens meant the security forces were almost here. Meanwhile, [member="Jek Floggerty"] was approached by a very irate manager, who began describing the situation to him.

[member="Sarge Potteiger"].

His plan had failed, the assassin had not left the area in pursuit of him, or even his original target in Karen like DragonsFlame had hoped. It hadn't taken long for DragonsFlame to realize he wasn't being tailed. A peculiar assassin that one was... But perhaps there was a method to it. Perhaps it was a trap, and he had planned for the Jedi to return when they would realize that there were people in danger. As much as he hated to say it, he was willingly walking into that trap if so. But he didn't care. He could still have a hold of the little girl, as far as he knew.

Of course, DragonsFlame had left just before someone had kicked the girl out of the grip of the assassin, and thus didn't know. But that didn't stop him from stepping back into the club, lightsaber ignited. If he was a man that could get angry, Joshua DragonsFlame would be enraged. But he seemed calm, yet determined as his eyes fixed upon [member="Dûvain"], noting that [member="J.Reaper"], [member="Mara D'Lessio Merrill"] and who he assumed was her mother, were still there. He also noted the presence of [member="Sarge Potteiger"], who had referred to the girl as his goddaughter. Oh boy.

As he stepped in, he would stop beside Sarge, not saying a word to him, but turning to him and nodding with an apologetic look. His plan to lure the assassin out had failed, and thus chaos had been wrecked that had brought the girl's godfather into the equation. It was something he wouldn't forget, but he wouldn't forgive himself if he didn't do something about it.

"Assassin" The Jedi Master would suddenly speak, calmly, yet with a tone that hinted at the fact he was looking for a fight. "These people have done you no harm. The other Jedi may be gone, but I'm still here. Leave them be, step outside and leave them out of this... If it's a Jedi you want, I'm right here. If you want me dead, then step outside and face me man to man instead of involving innocents" He would speak, now with a firm, commanding tone. He didn't care at that moment what others in the room did. This situation was started by a man hunting Jedi... And a Jedi would be the one to end it.

He didn't keep his eyes off the assassin as he awaited an answer, only motioned toward the door. He was dead serious. As opposed as he was to violence being the answer to things, sometimes... It was necessary.

"Over three hundred years I've existed mortal, yet in all of them I have never met a single being who truly compares to you and your bloated sense of self-importance. Congratulations," Dûvain's lips twitched, "You've successfully entertained me."

Idle hands hung at his sides.

"It pains me to dispel your illusory assumptions, but I am neither an assassin nor Sith... and I care as little for whether you live or die as I care about the life of a black fly on a window sill."

The blonde would smirk faintly, cracking his neck at his response. It bothered him none.

"Then tell me this, if you are neither Sith nor Assassin, why target the Jedi? Or perhaps I am mistaken, and you simply targeted the girl that was with me, and I got pulled in, in which case we can end this here and now without bloodshed as there no longer exists a reason for conflict. And if you will not tell me this, why stay and harm innocents after your apparent target has left? The man to my side, the mother and her child. They did nothing to you, and do not deserve to be harmed in this instance"

"Admittedly, I can understand the one over there" He would add, motioning toward [member="J.Reaper"]. "Without offense to you, sir" He would speak toward Reaper, before turning back to @Dûvain. "He did attack you first, I can respect that, even if I do also respect his apparent reasons for doing so. I only drew my blade as by what was said to me by my associate, and I say that loosely, it was safe to assume you were here to bring harm. But... I do not wish for bloodshed. Only information. If you wish to attack and bring bloodshed, so be it, I will do as my duty states and fight to protect myself and the people in here. If there is no reason for us to fight... Then I will respectfully request we both leave this establishment this evening and prevent any further trouble" He would offer calmly.

"Up to you"

"I merely came over to say hello. The girl simply sat on my knee. The vandalization of private property, the terrorizing of the people of this establishment with displays of the Force, the physical assault of a child... those are all you, your ally, and the headstrong footsoldier. What notion exists within your skull that so bends your mortal mind to function on the assumption that somehow I am here as the aggressor? I believe you have an interesting case of victimization, unless some facet of your culture precedes duels with customary greetings. Perhaps some other time you would allow me to... pick your brain. A fascinating endeavor no doubt."

Dûvain remained standing.

"Thank you for breaking my monotony, but unless you are wishing to force a fight, you're excused. As for me, I believe I ordered coffee."

And with that Dûvain sat down in a chair at a separate table.

The Jedi Master would again smirk at his words. Mind games. People like this sort played them well... But he wasn't phased. He claimed he wasn't an aggressor... But a Jedi Master like Karen wouldn't have jumped to attack like that without a reason. He knew of her background, at the very least, from when he had taken the time to search the records of individual Jedi as a pastime during his time on the Jedi Council. Some may call it odd, but it was his way of knowing every Jedi by name, hoping to give them a friendly experience whenever they may approach him for help, and allowing him to be mindful of any issues they might have that he would be best to tread away from. Karen did not strike him as one who would just... Rashly attack like that. Admittedly, he had acted only due to her reaction. But... Part of him told him that this man was lying, simple as that. He had seen him put a hand on the girl's throat... He intended harm. He wasn't stupid. But he would play the game for now.

He would nod, but watch him warily. His gaze would turn to [member="Sarge Potteiger"] and he would nod once again. "It was your family he touched. I will let you do as you will, and I will not interfere unless necessary. But I refuse to leave again until he's gone, now that I know his M.O... If you need me, don't hesitate to ask" He would speak softly. He didn't know the man, but he knew he was the girl's godfather.. His gaze would turn to the girl herself, and his own gaze softened. He had almost made a serious mistake... Almost caused this little one to get hurt. He didn't know that one of the people in here had kicked her, of course. But all he could wonder was... What if he hadn't returned and tried to settle this peacefully? He didn't want to think about it. He would look down afterword, not being able to meet her eyes for the moment. It was obvious this whole thing, with her especially, had effected him dearly. This was someone's daughter. He knew this. Josh had always harbored a dream of settling down, getting married, becoming a father himself... It was a pipe dream even now. To see someone have to go through their own child being harmed, possibly losing them... He couldn't imagine the pain they would feel. He didn't want to. His gaze then turned to the mother, if she was still there. What was she thinking, seeing her daughter in that predicament? What pain was she going through? Somehow... He sympathized with her the most.

He would walk to the counter, still wary, his guard up with the dangerous man still there, as he would order another coffee, slipping extra credits to pay for the chair he had broken. It was a spur of the moment thing, he had to admit. One he regretted.

Even as a Master... He knew he still had lots to learn. But that's what Jedi continue to do.... Always learn. No matter what.

he grinned as he looked towards them including the jedi, he had put his helmet just under him as his cloak covered most of his face except his smile "i only wanted to see if you were a fighter since i could feel a bloodthirst from you and you proved me right" then his grin disseapeared and said with a very cold voice as he looked towards the man "but dont call me a footsoldier, im not close to them, and i dont follow orders from the jedi" he looked over to the jedi as he said with a cold voice "i dont trust them since they did offer so many of my brothers in combat and got them killed, and that child over there" pointing towards the girl "she was in the way, if anyone try to kill me just for that you can try since i will happy to fight the person" his grinn came back as he pulled out his sword that started shining brightly when he stabbed it on the floor as he held the tip of the grip with both of his hands while looking around the people that gathered and still having his cigarette in his mouth.
