“You know, that little droid is going to cause me a lot of trouble.” [Protectorate Dominion of Kris

I turned a corner, and almost crashed into a man. Barely dodged him, snatching the hat from his head. I turned right, and left my jacket in a trash bin.

Then I eased the tempo, and started walking casually, new hat on my shining bald head.

Hopefully who ever was chasing me, would be thrown off from my scent.

Not sure how she had caught me, but no time to think about that now. Gotta escape the bloodhound first.

Things were starting to move a lot smoother now. ODF forces had come en masse to the planet surface, and now were securing the area.

The main building would be all that was left, but it appeared that the Protectorate forces had things under control. For now, Aeron gave a nod at Zero.

It was time to enter the main senate building and secure it.

He might have gotten away had she'd not been chasing from above. He was good. Real good. It took all that Mirax had to keep up.

Quick. Efficent.

Ahh, but with this many Omega Protectorate Defense forces walking around waiting to secure the area. He wouldn't be able to get away so easily.

Or would he?

Where did he go? Came her muse as she came to a sudden stop, bearing down to glance at the crowds, looking for a bald head. Her eyes went narrowing under the visor of her helmet.

She pressed on.

Vindart rose from practically nothing behind Cira and trotted behind quietly. His canine natural form nearly a meter high at the shoulder. He sniffed the air. The hunt was on and he loved a good hunt.

"Ssssso can you sssensse him?"

@Vindart @Cira

The trick in getting away ain’t about running as hard as you can, trying to lose them. It is all about becoming inconspicuous, blending in the crowd and waiting until the time is right to slip out.

So I didn’t run, or cause any suspicion. Instead I casually strolled through the streets, took time to check out the sights. Bartered with a shopkeeper for some glasses, and put them on.

Then I started walking casually to the general direction of my ship.

@Vindart @Caden Cadell

Mirax turned her fully helmeted visage at the Gurlain's gritty voice. The canine was a new recruit to the Protectorate. But he would have keen senses that would aide in this hunt.

"No she admitted," however, she glanced over to him, "Did you get a good whiff of his scent from the scene?" he would be far more likely to hone in on the blood hound abilities of tracing a prey with a heightened olfactory sense.

Vin smiled a toothy predatory grin and licked his snout.

"Oh yesss." He said his fangs giving him a typical lisp. Where the lisp could be almost comical. The fangs were not.

"He'thsss clossse." Vin said sniffing the air, "and wary."

@Vindart @Caden Cadell

"Then let's hunt," came her modulized voice from the voice receptor. Without further ado, Mirax let the Gurlain take the lead. He would be far more capable at tracking down their illusive target.

Feet would pound on the ground as they continued to give chase. It was just a matter of time.

The Gurlanin trotted ahead as his clawed feet clacked gently. He sniffed the ground briefly and turned toward a nearby shop. He was on the trail but the bodies of the crowd took time to mentally sort through. He sneezed to cleanse his nose and sniffed the air.

"Thithsss way." He said causing the shop owner to start.

"Sssorry." He said, "I meant woof."

I stepped by a different vendor, and bought some cologne. Without a doubt on my mind, I sprinkled it royally over myself and then continued to walk. Whistling to the tune of an old pop song, with a grin on my face.

Somewhere deep inside me, I had a bad feeling. As if something was wrong, they were close. But I still had a chance.

There was an apologetic smile at the shop vendor, but Mirax did not dawdle.

"How close?" she asked, striding alongside the canine. "Any sign of him?" she glanced around, trying to look through the crowds.

Up in space, the Defiance Task Force had finally managed to secure all exit points. Interdictor fields had prevented the pirates from escaping, and now boarding teams were bringing to heel the warlording pirates.

The space within the system was slowly coming under control.

Shhnnnk.

The vibroblade retracted from a gruesome corpse. Calico grimaced down at the ruined body, and wheeled his head around .He found himself in a dark building. The lights were out, and rubble was everywhere one would look. Above, dust fell as the building shook slightly; then stopped all together. The Chieftain took in a deep breath and began to crawl through a small crack in the wall that light seeped through.

He emerged covered in dust and rubble, but alive as he pushed himself up to his feet. "Lovely."

"He crossssed here." Vin said quickly and bolted forward. He raced to the next shop and the scent blended with cologne and then was consumed by it.

'No. No no.' He thought as he sniffed. 'Wait! Oh clever clever boy.'

It would have worked on a dog but dogs don't reason, they don't deduce, but Gurlanin's do.

Vin followed the fresh cologne. He was ambling toward the starport.

"The starport." He said "he's going for a ship and he stinks like a zeltros hooker"

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Well there seemed to be a sniper nearby his unit, and [member="Cira"] and [member="Vindart"] were not the only one who went on a hunt for the marksman. When the first shot of the hidden gunner went off, HK fluttered his grey chameleon cloak about himself, pulling up its hood he disappeared from sight, engaging his sound dampeners he was silent.

And then not much happened with him.

And now it seemed that the battle was over, Protectorate forces were starting to reign in control of the planet and civillians were starting to hurry about, going to return to their lives, assess any damage that happened to their properties, find their loved ones, etc.
HK's shape appeared once more, on the streets this time, his cloak deactivating and fluttering back among people, few turned their heads at the sudden appearance of the shape, few thought they just didn't notice him, many actually didn't notice him or his silent appearance.
And surprisingly, he chose to drop his cloak nearby [member="Caden Cadell"]'s position, whether he was still hunting the man, or whether he dropped it and he was just relaxing after the battle was unknown.
Except to writers, he actually dropped the hunt and chosen to just relax in the streets by watching the stands and busy people.

And then, something caught his eye, took his attention.
A hat, but not any hat. A hat made on Abregado-Rae, a Somb'rae'ro. Which was covering Caden's shiny bald head.

"Now, the history of the Abregado-Rae Somb'rae'ro hats is a fascinating one."
Caden would hear an electronic monotone voice of Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World behind his back, maybe he knew it was the voice of Abregado-Rae's Observer, maybe not, if he would turn about he would clearly see the emblems of Barony of Abregado-Rae, the Iron Company, and Omega Pyre on the chestplate the being wore as part of its additional armor. His face-plate was hidden behind the mask of his helmet, and under the cowl of his hood.
"Initially these wide-brim head-coverings were made by Gados farmers, twined out of dried grasses and reeds, however during the Industrial Revolution of the planet-"
The being continued as he raised his hands towards the hat Caden wore,
"May I?"
HK asked looking at Caden,
"Anyway, as I was saying, during the Industrial Revolution it was hardened material, such as the leather from Magru that replaced the woven reads, providing more protecting, the feathers of Leovi has also been used to decorate these hats, becoming a symbol of working status, as well as used during festivities as decoration, which transferred them over to musical groups of the native Gados."
The droid just kept talking.
Just.
Kept.
Talking.

Of course the sentient dog... thingie brought up a good point, but he forgot one little detail. The fact that such a vendor sold many different colognes and eau de toilettes, so disconcerting which one was used by the assassin... well that ain't gonna be easy. John never raised me a fool, ain't that the truth.

I kept my pace, and took a pamphlet from a street crier. The more genuine my disguise was, the better.

Thump!

Calico leaned all his weight against the aged brick building. His armors hissed as it scratched along the miniscule bumps and divots of the red material, all the way down until Calico was sitting. He reached up, and popped off his helmet. The faint breeze pulled at his short beard, and the familiar smell of ozone and smoke filled his nostrils. The old clone leaned his head back, and stared up at the smokey sky with narrowed brown eyes.

"Well, we did it." He mused to himself; a wheezing chuckle fighting its way past his lips. His chestplate creaked as it rose and fell, and the thin trickle of blood flowing from his midriff was beginning to spill out unto the ground. The warrior set a hand over it to stem the flow, and only succeeded in staining his armored gauntlet red.

"Suppose I should find a Medivac. Or not. Dunno." He continued mumbling to himself. He exhaled deeply, and settled his gaze down on the wound. It was all up to time now, he surmised.

A smirk came to her then. A Zeltros hooker? Oh this will be good.

She pulled her stun blaster. "Let's go." She said. They would need to catch him before he fled the planet.

The walker stood in the center of the hanger, swiveling its square head left and right to scan for targets. Occasionally it would let loose a barage of laser cannon fire, but it could not hit anyone. A moment later and Leon bolted from behind cover. Each footstep cracked like thunder against the durasteel floor. Diving forward, he activated the suit's jetpack and thrusters. Normally they were designed to orient and move in space. Here they launched him forward with tremendous speed, allowing him to avoid the walker's attempts to blast him to ash. Skidding on his stomach, the half-Zeltron raised his arms and brought them down on the deck at the same time as he kicked off the ground, sending him into a flip right underneath the walker.

Landing on his feet, Leon ran straight to another set of boxes for cover, just as a loud beeping rang out. A concussion grenade had been lobbed upwards and caught in the drive shaft of the walker. It couldn't even tell that something was wrong before it exploded and fell to the ground in a crumpled heap. The few pirates left in the hanger were left stunned, wondering what the hell had happened to their armored support. When Leon came up with his rifle leveled, the pirates all dropped their weapons and surrendered on the spot. Grinning inside his helmet, Leon turned to his crew.
"That's what we're gonna do."

I kept walking, but instead of going for the starport, I turned a left and then a right. Again as I said, good luck figuring out which perfume was mine, and which was attached to the ugly woman that had left the shop right after me with the same cologne.

Yeah, I wear women’s eau de toilette, sue me. With a smile on my lips, I finally entered a building. Some sort of library it seemed, the pamphlet was thrown into the bin and I explored the hallways for a good book to read.

Syd knew the drill, by now he was probably holed up somewhere safe. I’d find him when this was all over.

Eventually, I found a romantic novel about vampires. I couldn’t help but shudder, who would read that stuff? Took it anyway, nobody would suspect a Vampire Holodiary reader of being an assassin.

Only sissies read Vampire HoloDiary.
