"I won't, but..." she frowned and pulled back from the hug to give it some more thought. "What if I don't figure it out fast enough? What if this happens when you're not around, or Mom or Aris?" She worried that a sudden vision at the wrong time could endanger her. So maybe she just shouldn't be out on missions alone?

She was going to be a Jedi Seer, so maybe that was just her future now?

"I'm sorry to bother you with this now. We should be focusing on the golems."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"I can't say when you'll figure it out. The Force is alive, it has it's own agenda, desires. It shows you these things because it wants to help you. That's what your visions are, a way to help yourself. But how, that is up to you."

The last thing he wanted was her to suffer from the various visions she had and end up like this. But at the same time, Vera had had these visions for years. Kahlil kept a calm smile, patted her shoulder caringly.

"But that's why you'll have a Master. As a padawan, your master is there to help you learn how to control these visions, how to be a Jedi, and to help keep you safe while you do. You won't be a burden. Never think of yourself as a burden."

Then he stood up. Nodded once. "But now, Golems. We'll head to the Ossus temple and find a spot to set up there. Sound good?"

Vera listened to her father with a lot of tension in her chest, but the more he spoke, the more relief she felt. She needed to accept that she'd soon have a Master to help her out with all these things, and for her age, she was already doing pretty good. Mom and Dad had told her that much, and she wasn't about to let them down.

She would never be a burden - he was right about that, and Vera smiled again as a result. "Thanks, Dad. I also have Aris to help me, luckily. Last time I got overwhelmed, he was there to protect me." She was sure that he always would if he could.

"Yeah, Golems!" She then exclaimed with a grin before she got up and moved ahead a little. She had read that the Sith attacked Ossus not long ago, but the Temple was still very much there. She looked forward to seeing it for the first time.

"Where do we even begin with everything? It's going to be so big!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"That's what it means to be family. We'll always protect one another." But being a Jedi meant more than just protecting their own family. All the Galaxy was their family, for a Jedi. But that was something Vera's master would have to talk to her about, not him. Right now, Golems. He chuckled as they walked into the temple, his gaze lifting up towards the walls. It was a large place here. Which, for the Epicanthix that Kahlil was, was a welcome height relief.

"We're starting small, Vera. Not large. We need to make sure they work as intended."

"So... we make a mini-golem?"
Vera grinned. "Maybe I can bring it home! Although... I think Fuzzy would get jealous if I brought it home." Vera chuckled at the thought and followed her father to the Temple — a much larger structure than most. Ossus had once been a proper Jedi world, so much of its architecture revolved around the Jedi. From an amazing library, to a city with Jedi roots, and of course, the Temple.

The Jedi Praxeum.

"We also need to make a bunch of them, huh? To protect the Temples and have replacements ready. Maybe once we figured out how to do it, we can make several each year! So we never run out."

She looked up at her Dad and grinned, "We need to make them strong."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Not mini. I meant more like.. Your size."

Something practical, but nothing too small. He wanted to make sure it was capable of moving under it's own weight and such. Then, he smiled. Nodded in agreement. "They will be strong. And we'll make sure they're something we can make a lot of. Not just us, but other Jedi. Guardians that can protect us and people would always be welcome. Especially considering the nature of droids these days."

He motioned for them to keep moving. He'd already had a space for them set up. A small lab, almost. But far more mystical technically.

"We'll start with the runes. Have the sequences ready?"

"My size, huh?"
Vera giggled at the thought but she could already imagine it. An army of Vera-sized golems marching around the Temple to beat up anything and anybody threatening the Jedi. That did make her think though — beyond size and presence, how were they going to even fight or guard something?

They were still Jedi creations, too.

"Dad? Do you think we should have them focus on defense? Give them ways to defend themselves and others, but make them unlikely to be aggressive?" She blinked and then quickly removed her little backpack. This time, Fuzzy wasn't inside, and she pulled out a little notebook instead.

"I've been practicing. I can do the whole sequence now!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Just the first. I don't want them too small."

Not that Vera was actually that small, but for an Epicanthix it would be good to have them taller. Possibly taller than the normal height of an Epicanthix, now that he was thinking about it. "Defense would be ideal, but programing that is it's own problem. If we make them too defensive, they might activate when they shouldn't or when there's something that with context makes a reaction out of line. That's the advantage of a droid, they can be programed to have some independent thought for situations."

These wouldn't. They couldn't be the normal guards, at least not without the crystals within them. Perhaps that was the answer.

"We can ask the Kyber who do help to control more. Act as their minds so they activate and defend when they should, so no accidents."

"Woah... I think I understand, Dad!"
Vera nodded and looked down at the scribbles in her notebook. Just like her Mom, her handwriting was kind of terrible, but she could read it and that's all that mattered. These runes would only help with the early phases of their plans, but she was going to need to figure out sequences for their defensive capabilities, as well as their way of thinking.

The integration of Kyber would help a lot with that.

"I like that idea. We let the Kyber think, and we build the body around it to make things work. Hmmm, maybe we should give it some good protective runes?" She opened her notebook and showed her Dad some patterns she came up with. Protection, Shield, and a lot of it centered around the heart.

Where the crystal would be. Vera had drawn an entire golem even to show where it could be.

"I worry that if the Kyber is exposed, someone could corrupt our golems. Turn them against us." When it came to runes and this kind of stuff, Vera was just as big of a nerd as her father.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"The runes themselves can be corrupted by someone who understands enough of how to. There's no real way to stop that, not easily at least." His own runes, the ones they were currently using, were made specifically to counter act the runes of the Sith after all. It was only because of his knowledge of the Sith runes that he could make these even work to begin with. Which meant that, some day, the Sith would likely be able to counteract them.

"We can do both. Have the Kyber keep the runes from being altered, and the runes to help the Kyber from being exposed and corrupted."

"That's a good idea!"
Vera bounced excitedly and held her little notebook close. "Runes to protect the Kyber, the Kyber shielding the runes. If we make some good and clever sequences, our golems will be very strong! Hopefully strong enough to keep trouble away, so they don't even have to fight." A very Jedi way of thinking about it, she hoped. Deter the enemy and deescalate, so there wasn't a reason for anybody to get harmed.

But if trouble did persist, their golems would kick butt.

"Are we going to give them weapons? Maybe a big spear or sword?" She was tempted to say laser eyes again, and her little grin showed it, but she kept that to herself this time.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Either or would be good, I imagine." Lightsabers seemed out of place, given that the Kyber itself would be in charge of controlling the Golems. Making them control the golems and also be a lightsaber would be weird, to say the least.

"But still no laser eyes. That won't really protect anyone, you know."

Vera blinked, "H-how did you... I didn't even say anything!" She narrowed her eyes and focused on her mind for a moment. She was part Epicanthix, so her mind was strong. Had she not noticed her own father reading her mind despite it? Or did he have some other way of knowing?

Vera was squinting at him for answers.

"But a spear or sword would be cool! Or we just make them big enough to stomp on people if they're bad." She smiled innocently but she had that Noble sparkle in her eyes again.

"Are we getting the Kybers here on Ossus too? Would that be hard? Usually only one really connects with us, right?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Because I'm you're father, and I've known you since you were born."

Kahlil chuckled openly at her response before taking to the actual subject. She wasn't going to get her laser eyes, but at least she wasn't trying to argue about it.

"Spears and swords will be fine. As for the Kyber, we can just ask them. they're able to answer, you know. You just need the patience to wait for it's reply."

Vera still squinted, "I will be talking to Mom." She didn't explain why, but she figured that Mom would be the only one with ways to get to her Dad. Maybe she could help her navigate the warzone of teasing and understanding.

Maybe one day, it'd help her get her laser eyes.

"We can just...ask them?" Vera blinked and looked at her Dad like he was crazy. "You'll have to show me how to do that! I want to talk to the crystals." She grinned and seemed rather excited at the idea.

"But first...we set up our workshop, hm? Did you bring a lot? Also...what are we doing for food?" Vera them blinked again.

Had they brought enough snackies?

Kahlil_Div2.png

"You already know how to speak with people with just your mind, don't you? It's just that, after all." Kahlil chuckled. Sometimes it was simpler than it seemed. Grant it, Kyber didn't speak with words as she'd find out soon enough, but he wasn't going to bring that up yet. She'd have to learn it on her own for it to make sense. Instead, he reached towards one of the packs to lift it up and tossed it her way.

Snackies.

"We've some equipment and such. But mostly materials to make what we need. Remember what I said you needed to do before I'd teach you how to make the chaulk?"

"Oh."
Vera blinked and smiled awkwardly, "So, just telepathy, then..." It had been an ability that came easy to her, as all mental abilities did. From visions to telepathy, her mind was meant to connect with the world around her in ways very few other people ever could. But there was still a lot to learn.

Vera then caught the pack with snacks, and opened up a small bag to enjoy a well-earned snack. The question Dad asked drew her gaze back up, and she hadn't forgotten.

"I remember! I have to be able to do a big sequence!" Once more, she pulled out her little notebook and flipped it open, "I started working on a sequence to get the material to form together and be able to listen," Vera tried to explain. "It's different from the snow Yoda we made. If we give the golems a heart, then it needs to listen to the heart."

At leas, that was her theory.

"I also came up with a sequence of runes to protect it. But I dunno if it's any good..."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"We won't know until we try it, right?"

Kahlil smiled warmly as he looked over the notes she'd flipped open, more curious to the actual sequence than anything else. With the runes he'd taught her, there was a lot that seemed to work together. Some in a way he hadn't expected, though. That had him smile more. She was creative as always.

"Let's try it now. Serenity?"

The little fox popped into existence, bobbing their head a little in the most they've ever shown in excitement.

"Is it time?"

"Almost. Vera will be making your body."

"Hi serenity!"
Vera said with a warm smile. She had seen the familiar a few times, and always loved their company. Though she did start looking around, expecting Chaos to appear as well. Those two were hard to separate usually, but maybe Chaos couldn't because Mom was home.

Unless the Dyad allowed it anyway, but Vera wasn't quite sure.

"Really? We're going to give Serenity a body?" She perked up and grinned wide. "I'm ready to do it! Will we give one to Chaos, too? I don't want them to be lonely
."

Kahlil_Div2.png

"It's not a permanent body, nor do they need one. But they are Kyber you know. So it's a good starting point to see if the runes work as intended."

Serenity nodded. Unless Kahlil was going to give up his lightsaber and get a new one, Serenity would always be with Kahlil and not within the golem. And neither of the two wanted that. They were bonded for a reason, after all.

"Think of me like a trial run. I don't have physical form to hurt while I'm in the golem, so if there's something wrong that would hurt a crystal, it won't."
