A padawan to be pampered

Sanya Val Lerium

Sanya would watch as he stood up and gave his reply. "Well I'll sort you one out after we have got your crystals. I should have parts for you to make your sabers. Duel phase switches, bifurcation cycle ignition, pressure grip's and more. So you will be spoiled for choice." Sitting back into her seat as she waited for Maxumus Sanya sent a message ahead to Maria her Droid.

//Maria

I need all the saber parts I have in my office. I have to run a small errand up in kura then I'll be there with a special guest. Also please make sure there is a inicatio jet pack and the fusion cells on my desk too.

//sent

As her padawan came back into the cockpit she could see the stuff was a little baggy on him. But it fitted better on him than it did her. "It will do for now. Ill have to get the enclave order some tailored to you for next time. Anyway we are almost there so you might want to strap in." Her smile this time was bigger. Especially since she was going to do the usual combat drop. She once had a passenger that passed out during one and she couldn't help but laughter hysterically.

Maxumus jumped back into his seat, strapping himself into the chair. "What kinda landing is this going to be?" He asked, slightly worried that it could end with a crash or a likewise awkward event. He gripped the arms of the chair, tight enough to give him comfort but loose enough so that he could use the controls if needed.

The ship would flash out of hyperspace. Keeping the acceleration at full they would speed past the orbital ring that went around the entire world just missing several ship. "A fun one. They are called combat drops. They are done to rapidly get troops to the ground or avoid AA's and hostile ships. Or in my case for fun." As they hit the edges of the atmosphere the g force would grow pushing them against the seats. There was then the burning glow as the ship kept up it's speed at full. In a quick set of motions Sanya would quickly half its speed and pull up as the where almost close to the ground. Still the momentum still dragged them down. Pushing the acceleration at full again the ship began to move vertical slowly losing the downwards momentum till they flew straight. White powdered mountains and blue ice was all that could be seen around them as the ship was now flying normal but close to the ground. Once more she'd bring the speed down to the minimum for them to keep in the air.

She had locations on some caves mainly ones she had probe droids scout for. Not only that but the few times she had been here she could feel something through the force. Sanya knew shards where in the world and that's what she put them down too. In fact Sanya really wanted to meet one. With a smirk on her face she would look at maxumus. "You might want to get used to that. Besides I did ask you back on manaan if you wanted to fly your own ship here." Shed say with a giggle. "I was taught by someone who used to be a fighter pilot. Now he flys big ships but yeah I adapted all is bad habits with flying. Anyway we are here. Welcome to sekalus." She said bringing the ship in for a landing. The gear would lower from the bottom and the ship would stop and sink onto them.

(Ooc: let me know on Skype what crystals you want and component's for your sabers.)

Maxumus is thrown against his seat by the g force, thinking how glad he was to be strapped in and holding on. He looked back at his teacher, shaking a bit. "I'll have to get used to it I guess." He said, before looking out of the window. "Looks nicer than I though." He said, scanning left to right.

She powered the engines down letting them Humm quieter then stood up. She guetured with her hand for maxumus to follow as she walked into the back of the ship to the garage room. moving over to the speeders she'd turn the ignitions on for both of them letting the repulsor warm up lifting it from the supports to keep it stable in flight. "Now be careful with this. The throttle is sensitive and it is fast. If you hit top speeds you'll see the particle shield begin to go and cone. So crash it, it will hurt. Anyway press the green button on the wall there." She said going over a few things.

Maxumus follows Sanya to the garage, looking over the speeders quickly before moving to the button. "Does everything your company makes have to be life threatening in some way?" He asked sarcastically, pushing the button firmly.

Sanya would laughed as the floor began to lower with her and the speeders on. Snow would begin coming into the ship from underneath where it became a wind trap. "Not everything but it is why you make it. Besides that data pad isn't life threatening and a few series of droids on production." She said as she began to pull the speeders from off the lowered platform onto the snow. Reaching up she'd upen up a little panel and put her finger over a close button. "Alright get down here ready up." She would wait for maxumus to get down before she pressed it and closed it up. Turning around she would get into the speeder and check the systems.

Maxumus nodded as he jumped down onto the platform, landing next to the unoccupied speeder. He got onto it and did a quick look over the controls, before checking the systems. Once he was satisfied with it, he looked to his master. "Let's get to it."

Pushing on the accelerator the speeder began to move fast across the almost flat white tarrain. The cave wasn't so far but it was on a lip that overlooked a casum. Looking back on her padawan she could see a trail of white mist been kicked up from their speeders and the sheilds beggining to cone from the friction. It was the reason she nicknamed them the bullets. After a certain speed they would look like a large bullet traveling across the ground. Really it wasn't a design feature but happened by accident. "Just be wary of wampas. They see us they'll try follow. Food chain and all. When I spend a few weeks up here they often tried to get into the ship. I try to avoid returning them to the force but they are strong and can cause a lot of damage. Anyway where about five minuets away." She said over the com. It was unlikely he'd be able to hear her voice through other means.

((It's fine, I'm dealing with exams so my replies won't be any quicker than yours.))

Maxumus hadn't been expecting such speed, but it made him think of his starfighter. It was quite fun really, as dust was kicked up behind the two and the shield kicked in. Hearing his masters voice on his comm, he listened closely over the noise of the two speeders. "Understood master, I won't want to come face to face with a wampa anyway." He replied, before having a quick glance to his left and right, just to be sure.

In fairness these where not the fastest of the speeders she'd made. The voi was better in many aspects because of it's ability to leave the atmosphere. Really she could have just brought that along but the agora was simple. She'd watch as they almost got close to the nav point and soon they'd have to dissmount and venture the rest on foot. The snow would bite against her cheeks and her hands starting to feel numb, even her tail and ears where cold. As they came up to the peak Sanya slowed down pretty fast. "Okay well this is where we walk. I'll give you a minute if you need it." She said as the speeder powered down. Looking to the left there was a small ledge they'd have to shuffle across. The drop was maybe 90ft maybe further. If it wasn't for the thick layers of snow below it the drop would be fatal.

Maxumus drifted his speeder into a stationary position next to his master's. Powering it down, he'd dismount and walk over to his master. It was on planet's like this that his mask came in handy, shielding his face from the elements. "I'm fine, let's get to work." Maxumus replied, following his master's gaze, looking at the ledge, but more importantly it's drop. "Great, won't be a proper Jedi mission without death nearby." He commented.

She was glad he had enthusiasm to get the crystals. Although the same time it worried her. "Remember confidence can be a good ally and your enemy. It's always wise to assess before acting. To take caution in the unknown. I don't know what trial you will face. Maybe you won't face one yet. The end of the day it's an unknown so be mindful of your thoughts." She said. The more and more she spent time with this padawan, the more she felt like she was finally slotting back into the order on a personal level. She still expected ridicule and tension from others. No matter where she was in the long run her priority was to help people. Even if eyes looked at her to judge.

Moving to the ledge she placed her back against the wall of the icy rock and began to shuffle across. "The chances of you dying on my watch are slim. I made a vow to protect and train you. As such I will do. Still doesn't hurt to be careful." She said slightly sarcasticly at the end and with a bit of a giggle. "The entrance isn't far along this, just up here a little."

Maxumus followed his master to the ledge, waiting for her to asses it before following himself. Back pressed against the cold rock face behind him, he looked down at the drop. Just don't fall He thought to himself, before turning his head so he was looking ahead. A couple of stones shuffled off the ledge to the snow below. "Why does that happen every time someone walks across a narrow ledge?" He asked sarcastically.

As she continued to shuffle across Sanya couldn't help but smile and shake her head at the sarcasm. "If I had to narrow it down I'd say rocks just fall for gravity. They can't help it I guess." After a bit more shuffling Sanya had reached the small opening. The lip of the ledge was wider there enough for her to sit down and shuffle through the small hole. As she shuffled through on her bum the wind would become less. The hole didn't stay small for long and opened up to a large chamber. The room was made up of ice blue walls and floor with a small rocky footpath. It was naturally made by the looks or had been here for a very long time. She was no archaeologist. "Well this is it. We'll meet back here if you survive what's ahead. I cannot help you or intervene, the path you walk here has to be alone. Let the force be your eyes and ears and it will guide you." She never really got this talk when she'd gone for her first crystals. She knew what had to be done. But the order was stronger then more people, more knowledge passed around. But her padawan wasn't the only here in search of something. There is a shard here she can feel screaming out to be saved from the daunting echos of a life in solitude.

Maxumus followed his master as best he could, entering through the small gap into a large chamber. He looked around, fascinated by the place. "I'll do my best master, the force shall guide my way." He answered, before walking deeper into the chamber. As he went further into the area, it seemed to get darker and darker. Not a normal darkness however, this seemed to be made by the dark side itself.

Switching on the torch attached to his belt did little but create a small circle of light that just about covered his figure. He gripped the hilts of his training sabers, giving him little comfort. "Why would you leave?" A female voice seemed to say through the darkness. "What?" Maxumus responded, stopping in place. "We needed you, and you abandoned us." The voice replied, however now accompanied by a male voice. "It wasn't safe for me to stay, I had to leave. I had no choice!" Maxumus yelled back, nerves gripping him. Then, two figures emerged through the darkness. A man and woman. A father and mother. They glared at Maxumus, their son, in disappointment, and when Maxumus tried to approach them, they disappeared.

Maxumus continued on, although emotionally worse for ware. Soon, what looked like a temple appeared before him. Three figures, clad in brown robes, stood watching him. "He is far too old for training."One remarked. "His anger is great, there is no saving him." Said the second. The third looked at Maxumus in disgust, and it was a face he knew. His master, Sanya. "I will take him, perhaps he can be of use to me." Maxumus dropped to his knees, before looking up at the three. "You're wrong!" He yelled, activating his blades, the yellow and orange light piercing through the darkness.

The three figures disappeared, their brown robes replaced with black ones. "Foolish boy." A thundering voice said, before the three ignited their sabers. Crimson light surrounded Maxumus as they closed in. He tried to lift his blades to defend himself, but his arms felt as if they were weigh down by rocks. The dark side users all struck at once, causing a flash of light that left him blind and deafened. The force will guide you He thought to himself, before walking forwards, towards what he'd seen as a temple.

There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is The Force. The Jedi Code went through his mind, calming him and keeping him on track. Eventually he reached the end of the chamber, where two crystals called to him. Collecting them quickly, he ran back the way he came, the darkness leaving the room and his mind going back to normal. It must have been several hours since he'd left, and when he reached his master, he dropped to his knees, exhausted.

With her padawn now off on his trials it was time for her to do what she came here for. She began to push out her presence to narrow down this shard. They weren't like normal silicon based life forms. They couldn't move and looked like a crystal that glowed when in thought. Normally they'd grow as a collective but this one felt alone, Isolated. No other signatures like it was around it. Maybe people before had taken them as a fancy gem or something. But really Sanya was saving this one from a life of loneliness. Give it a body to experience freedom.

She closed her eyes still pushing out in the force. It's sadness echoed giving it away. Her face would turn in the direction making out a faint aura. Was that it? Maybe. She didn't need her eyes open to navigate as the force was her guide. Each step she took sounded silent to her and so was her breaths. Her face was no longer cold either in fact she was warm and getting warmer the further she went in.

Some time had passed by and the shard was no longer the only one displaying such strong emotions. Anger, fear and remorse. She knew what it went. His trials had gone into full effect. Now only time would tell if he is strong enough to survive this place. Even with the distraction of her padawans emotions she remained moving closer to the shard. Her eyes would open to look upon a large crystal by the wall. She could just make out the small rock resting against it. Crouching down towards it she would move the rock and carefully cradle the shard in her hands.

With care Sanya would put the shard on a soft cloth in her pouch. She left it open but clipped a small mesh cover over it. After all it was probably frightened from some stranger taking it from it's home for as long as it's known. With the shard safe with her she began to make her way back now focusing in on her padawan. More anger had drawn across him and calm, just like that. A small smile ran across her face knowing he was a step closer.

It took less time getting back to the entrance than it did getting to where she was. Although Sanya was aware it would take some time for her padawan to make it back to her. Without little effort she fell back letting the force set her down gently and began to meditate. Not much more time had passed when she herd the crunching of snow under the feet of her padawan. As her eyes opened Sanya would watch him falling to his knees. The emotional toll was higher than a lot of padawans, but they where not exposed to the level of dark side he had been subjected to.

"You did well maxumus." She said softly. "Did you get what you came here for?" Asking him. Although she knew he'd have them. She just wanted it to sink in there was reason for this. That in life sacrifices and challenges await some worse than others. "You can relax when we get to the speeders don't worry. Ill tow you back so just take it easy okay. We still need to cross the ledge back so you just need to focus a little longer." She was proud of him. These trials where not easy and plenty of people had broken from them or worse. The one she faced where several trials before she laid her hand upon the crystals she never got to use. It was for the simplest fact that she slided close to the line of the dark side. Solari crystals only work for the those on the light side fully. They now are in the sabers for her's and her wife's droid.

Standing up Sanya would walk up to her padawan and help him up. "I'll let you go first and I'll spot you. That way if you're going to fall I can catch you." She said still in a soft comforting voice. Exhaustion wasn't good for handling the way out especially with risks been involved. "When we get to the spire I'll make sure you get a nice hot meal and a drink. Your under my care so I will look after you."

Maxumus could here the voice of his master, telling him he'd done well and reminding him that there was method to the madness he'd endured. Being helped to his feet, he nods his head in response to the question about the crystals, steadying himself. "Thank you." He said quietly, before moving slowly towards the ledge. Upon reaching the edge, he stuck as close as he could to the wall, moving carefully across, however much slower than the last time they'd crossed.

Reaching the other side, he'd stumble as the true effect of the exhaustion took hold. His arms and legs felt heavy, and his breathing was slow. He tried to regain his posture, but feel to the ground as he attempted to stand. "This isn't great." He muttered, not trying to stand again in case he should fall.

Sanya followed him out spotting him and making sure maxumus didn't fall into the powdered sheet below. It had been a long day from nerves to a far unknown. But they both achieved something, maxumus more than her. As they made it off the ledge she'd watch as he collapsed once more. "You okay?" She asked out of consern. With the force she'd gentaly lift him up and into the speeder he rode here. Then Sanya would strap him in and power the speeders engine up. "Don't worry about driving. I'll tow you back." Her words still carried the cosern but a level of comfort in her soft spoken words.

The night would soon be upon them meaning it would get colder fast. As she climbed onto her own speeder powering it up, Sanya would reverse up to maxumus and use the small tractor beam to tow him back to the ship. It took a while getting back especially having to move at a slower pace. The cold didn't help either.

Maxumus was placed onto the speeder, and he lay there, in a odd state of semi consciousness, knowing things were happening but unable to react. After what seemed like and age, they arrived at the ship, and Maxumus was back to full awareness. Slowly, he lifted his right hand to his mask, detaching the seals and removing it. Beneath it was the face of a 19 year old human male, tanned skin and dark green eyes. Short black hair and beard completed the look, which was one of tiredness. He gripped the mask tightly, breathing heavily as he sat up, looking at his master.
