A singular trial of Competency.

Erebos sat on a crate as he listened to the head engineer of his ship voice his complaints, needs and reports of the operation of the ship in the past few months. His body language showed he was bored out of his mind until the engineer came to an interesting topic pertaining to the sith spawn he had created not two day's earlier and had simply put them into the hold until he found a site to place them on. This was when his secret Apprentice [member="Dar Moraal"] arrived and anything he might have heard was drowned out by the bustling machines and engineers that hurried along to meet his ship as it came in for a landing.
All the while Erebos's body posture raised a little from the slump it had taken on as he then turned his head towards Dar's ship and gestured a dismissal to the head engineer who saluted and left him.

Dar didn't waste a second as soon as his ship landed he walked briskly toward [member="Darth Erebos"]. "Greetings master." He gripped his sabers hilt out of habit as he took the time to observe the hangar. Efficient. Turning back to his master he awaited his words.
(Sorry it's so short I'm using mobile)

Erebos nodded to [member="Dar Moraal"] in greeting. "Glad you could make it." He said as he got off the crate he was sitting on and gestured for Dar to follow him as he headed deeper into his ship. "Given how much of a fiasco Korriban turned out to be I've decided to test you on your own this time and it will be quite a simple task." He said as he stopped in front of a Alusteel blast door leading to a cargo hold and opened it. "Survive." He then stated in a cold voice as a sudden crescendo of hisses and gurgled growls began to emanate from the cargo hold and suddenly a hoard of Skeletal looking humanoids came rushing out all aiming their razor sharp claws towards Dar.

(It's all right)

To buy himself time he force pushed them then leaped back "Sorry for the inconvenience master" He said as he hurled several cargo crates at the abominations. As he landed he whipped out his saber and took a neutral stance. Not familiar with his opponents he simply observed them. Fighting an unknown enemy is disadvantageous. History is filled with empires being caught off guard and falling into anarchy. He didn't want that to happen. After all the goal of this trial is to "survive".

Erebos didn't seem fazed when several of the sith spawn came flying towards him, they seemed to half bounce of an invisible wall as they closed in on him. "Not at all." He replied as he walked out of the way like he was taking a casual stroll through the hoard of sithspawn that came towards [member="Dar Moraal"].

None of them had eyes but they all seemed quite fixated on Dar as the charged towards him, two coming towards him with their claws raised in front of them as they attempted to grab hold of him.

Extending the force lightening from his fist to one of the oncoming beasts he twisted out of the reach of the other one. Trading out his saber for his saberstaff he prepared for the inevitable retaliation. Then proceeded to ignore that and lunges at one of the monsters slashing and extending the lightening to where ever his saber landed. Still concentrating on the one in front of him he used his free hand to force push anything he felt get too close. Battle is the predator's version of a test. One he will pass with flying colors.

[member="Dar Moraal"] would find that these things weren't any tougher than normal humans but they didn't fight like that at all. When the first was struck by force lightning it set out a shriek of pain as it grumbled down to the floor and shook a little before it got up, dazed but not out. The others began simply throwing themselves at Dar with reckless abandon, currently there were around twenty headed towards Dar all trying to grab at him and surround him, to them he was a meal and their open slobbering mouths was a testament to that.

Erebos however kept most of them in reserve, this was a test after all and he wasn't trying to outright kill Dar right then and there, if he was going to kill him, he'd do it himself. Taking out twenty, ten males and ten females, from the group behind he sent them back into the hold as those were the one's he'd keep while sending the rest against Dar to be killed.

Dar thought he was doing well until one came around and clawed a nasty rend in his suit. Roaring with rage he whips around and decapitates the perpetrator. Sensing he was surrounded he whirled his saber staff around him hopefully killing some as he planned his next move. He didn't want to but he thought he might as well. The pain will be excruciating. Growling he let loose a a torrent of lightening out of his entire body wrapped and licking around his suit and surroundings. Falling to his knees the pain was overwhelming. Which brought a sick grin to his face as he remembered something [member="Darth Erebos"] taught him about pain. Gritting his teeth his used the pain to feed the power going into the lightening. As it intensified so did his pain. Quite a vicious cycle.

Erebos shot his own lighting towards a stray lightning bolt that came towards him but he was impressed with how many of the spawn [member="Dar Moraal"] had managed to get with his first spinning attack, not to mention the force lightning that followed. After the lightning subsided he could see a circle of smoking bodies around Dar but there were still around twenty of the buggers left that came charging towards Dar.
It was then that Erebos remembered what Dar had said to him about his suit, it kept him alive and if he used lightning something might be damaged, with that thought in his mind he acted. The spawn were met with a large firey serpent that was coiled protectively around Dar but not close enough to burn him and it killed every single one of the spawn that were left in a fiery cyclone. Walking to his secret apprentice Erebos reached out with his hand towards him. "You've passed. I think I'll further your training in force lightning up to the point you can use it outside your own body as well as the art of fire shaping." He said as the doors to the cargo hold, holding the last twenty of the spawn, closed behind him. This man was a worthy apprentice to have.

Grabbing his hand he lefted himself up. Without the suit working it felt like he was wearing a lead coffin. But he refused not to enjoy his victory. With his now raspy baritone voice he said "I cannot wait master." After seeing that spectacle he couldn't help but crave it for himself. He was sith after all. It was now apparent that he could use some medical attention. "May I excuse myself master I must attend to my... suit." He wanted to say prison. One day. Reattaching his saber he stood straighter waiting to be excused. A thought occurred to him. "Unless we can learn those techniques now?" He asked with a hint of anticipation. Truly he couldn't wait till he yielded such power.
(Sorry if it's so short it's really late here I'll post tomorrow)
[member="Darth Erebos"]

Erebos smiled under his mask. "Yes [member="Dar Moraal"], I will teach you but you must first attend to your suit. I can't have you dying on me now can I." He chuckled at the end as he then told Dar of were the medical bay was as well as tell him he could have the medical officer prepare anything he needed. "Once that is over I shall teach you the next steps, however if you can could you leave one of your hands exposed? I believe it would make sure your suit isn't compromised when you learn more of force lightning."

Nodding respectfully he walked briskly in the direction of the med bay. He didn't tell his master that the gloves technically were his hands. This only emphasized the need for either a new and better suit or a ritual of some sort. Dar has heard the sith lord Vader used meditative techniques to survive without his helmet but that wouldn't help his lightening situation. Of course he wouldn't stop till he could do it without repercussion. Arriving at the med bay he told the officer there the specs of his suit and what was wrong with it. This handicap needed to be removed.

As Erebos waited for [member="Dar Moraal"] to repair his suit he observed the nervous techs carry the bodies of the spawn into an airlock to be jettisoned out into space. A very fortuitous thing that they were passing a star which could destroy the bodies quite effectively. He seemed a little like a child as he sat on a crate and watched with his head resting on one hand while watching but in reality he was contemplating what to do, his apprentice had such promise but the suit was so limiting that he felt he'd never reach his full potential in the future. With a sigh he resigned to not knowing what to do and he'd have to consult someone far older and more experienced than himself.

With a fully prepared suit he wasted no time on getting back. However soon he will have to look for a solution to his problem. Be it by ritualistic means it does not matter. However the prospect of learning to do whatever it was he did with the fire. Sadly he has never heard of any such technique. Quite an exciting idea. Grabbing his saber hilt out of habit he had made his way to his master. "Thank you for allowing me access to the med bay." He wished he didn't need to. This was what the sith strive to get rid of wasn't it?! Weakness.

Erebos looked towards [member="Dar Moraal"] before he even spoke and nodded to him before he got of the crate, behind him the last of the spawn was being placed inside the airlock and jettisoned out. "Come I'm going to teach you something that I've just cooked up." He said, a little excited himself actually as he lead Dar into the almost abandoned hangar with Dar's ship magnetically locked to the ceiling for protection. They were met with the head engineer coming from his duties, seeming a little pleased that the spawn problem had been resolved so fast. "Tell the bridge to make for Illum." Erebos said and got a deferential bow of the head from the engineer as he walked passed them.
Turning on his grossguard saber he made a simple hand gesture and the blade's were suddenly on fire that left a trail as it followed the blade. "I'm going to teach you how to create and manipulate fire and then bind it to your saber." Erebos said as he then turned the saber off and the fire slowly disappeared along with it.

Eagerly he gripped his saber hilt. The thought that one day he could do what [member="Darth Erebos"] did with the force was exciting. Dar couldn't wait. That and it wouldn't damage his suit. "May we begin master?" He didn't want to waste any time. (Sorry for the delay and short post)

"We shall, Reach into the force and feel the air around you, manipulate it, taste it and know it." Erebos began as he reached out with his hand and in front of it the air seemed to begin to obscure his hand with the heat in front of it. "Then speed up the molecules and you will have a fire in front of your hand." At that a bright flame appeared in front of his hand and created a halo around Erebos, snakes and all manner of beasts made of fire began to pear out of the halo of fire and their hissing and snarls were the snarls and crackle of fire the fire itself. Then as he closed his hand and tightened it into a fist the fire dissipated as easily as it had formed. "At first you will only be able to create and move the fire, later we will work on controlling it's temperature and then I will teach you how to shape it into a creature under your thrall. Lastly I will teach you this."
As he finished a lightsaber blade extended from his enclosed fist, or rather a plasma beam made to look like a lightsaber. "You will never be without a weapon as long as you have the force."

(It's all right) [member="Dar Moraal"]

With that last word he eagerly set to work. He has never used the force in such a manner before. The concept excited him to no end. The added thought that he may no longer need to even carry around a saber was also pleasing. With what would describe as religious fervor he did as his master instructed. It took a few minutes but soon he had a small spark. Soon it grew to a small flame covering his hand. Concentrating he made it circle his hand. Pleased with his work he made it dance. Well...being a amorphous line of flame it didn't dance very well. It tried its best. More than pleased he turned to [member="Darth Erebos"]. "Thank you master, for this gift of knowledge." Fire was a great tool. Without it Dar doubts the republic would ever have risen. Nor the sith.

Erebos was proud of his apprentice [member="Dar Moraal"], he took to his lessons well and eagerly. "Now remember to practice every so often with this skill so that you can manipulate it and conjure it faster." He said as he moved a step closer to his apprentice and turned on his lightsaber. "Now I think you are ready to learn a new lightsaber form or several even." He said as he took a Shien style stance. "First I belive you could benefit from shien, then we can move onto Djem-so and from there over to shii-cho. What do you think?" He asked, his tone giving away the smile under his mask.

The flames dying down he nodded to his master and whipped out his curved saber. It's speed and accuracy would be better against his more experienced opponent. Limiting himself to his basic knowledge of the first form he took a stance. Seeing his master take a Shien stance he attempted to copy the same stance. After all that was what he was learning. He knew this form was used to turn a man's offense into defense or some such but other than that he knew nothing. Of course if he already knew then he wouldn't need training would he?
