A Taste of Freedom

Technology was amazing. She had never seen anything quite like the contraption before though that wasn't really saying much given her past and everything. Anastasia was a little scared on using it but not so scared that she didn't press that button to send her rocketing up in the sky.

The view from up here was something else and she felt free. In order to keep herself from going higher she tilled her body so that she went over the waterfall. She could from up here see everything. Nothing could touch her while she was flying high in the sky.

Michael took a seat on the ground and just watched the girl zoom through the sky he laughed at her antics he remembered the same way when he first flew in a jet pack , maybe next he would teach her to fly starfighter or something. This was the easiest pay day he ever had but something was bugging him still he couldn't tell what.

The view was breathtaking, she could see everything from way up here. It was very calm and peaceful as well with the wind blowing her hair back Anastasia felt as if nothing could touch her. A feeling that she never had had before in her life. It was a false sense of security as she knew full well that she didn't really know him nor did she know the area around her very well. She didn't want to think about that right now. The young woman just wanted to have fun for once in her life.

"I'm flying," she giggled. As she spread her hands out in the air pretending that she was flying on her own. As she did so she wasn't watching what she was doing and thus didn't see that she needed to turn so ran into the nearby tree stuck. Luckily before falling she grabbed onto a branch to hold on.

Michael jumped to his feet when he saw [member="Anastasia Rade"] crash into a tree"Just my fraking luck" It didn't take him long to reach the tree she landed in but in his haste he forgot his helmet again it had been developing a bad habbit of leaving it behind everywhere he went he yelled up to her "You can let go I will catch you"Michael was more than confident in his own strength he would be able to catch from such a fall eaisly.

"I got it," she grinned as she looked down at him. Anastasia had always been a survivor and she wasn't going to allow herself to fall. She could take care of herself and she was about to show him that. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful that he would catch her but more like she enjoyed being independent and not having to rely on others for anything. She wanted for once in her life to be her own person and go things herself. She was a strong independent woman or at least that was what she liked to think.

Slowly she pulled herself up onto the branch that she had been hanging onto. She didn't know how she would get herself down however at the moment she wasn't exactly worried about it. It was beautiful up here as well.

Michael chuckled the girl is like a cat doing things by her whims alone, he mused the notion to try climb up the tree but thought better or it he easn't that nimble not since he was a child where he served as sniper for his clan during early days of the nine year war "You going to come down sometime soon the sun is starting to set" it was one hell of a sun set but still.

"I know, it's beautiful. You should come up here and watch it. The view is perfect," she stated as she slightly looked down to where he was waiting to catch her. Instead of coming down though she scooted herself a little closer back so she could lean against it as she watched and not worry about falling down.

She loved being able to go where she wished and do what she wanted. Anastasia was seriously happy up here in the trees. If he didn't make her, she would be happy staying up here the rest of the evening.

As a slave she didn't have the luxury to just do as she pleased. She had been told what to do and how it ought to be done. There had been one master whom had allowed her freedom just as long as she read to him. The young lady honestly missed him and there was a part of her that wished he was here with her today. She wondered how he was. Sighing she shook her head as she looked back up to the sky.

Michael shurgged "Alright" he climbed up as best he could granted he wasn't as nimble as he used to be he managed to reach her perch looking up he caught a glimps of her as the sunlight carresed her skin she was undeniably beautiful, after pulling himself up to her branch he sat down next to her"You wanted me up here so I am" looking out to the sunset it was even better from up here he chuckled to himself this all seemed like a cheap romance holovid that women seem to love so much but men never understood. He turned to her he smiled his signature crooked smile "So what now do you want to do now?"

She was happy up here in the trees away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It could sometimes get overwhelming for the young oracle. It was a lot of new all at once and it made her feel that trying to catch up with everything that she had missed was hopeless. Running away and being a hermit was a better plan than trying to assimilate into the galaxy. This was why she needed places like this which were calm and relaxing. They allowed her a chance to take a step back and refocus herself before she did spiral out of control.

"I wanted you to see this view," she grinned at him for a second before turning back to him. "It's breathtaking, I have never seen anything like it. Than again I have spent my life in a cell so I have not seen much. Still, it's worth stopping to take a second to enjoy." If she had learned anything during her time locked up it was not to take anything for granted.

"I don't know, I was just going to explore the planet. I think there is a cave or at least I heard there is an opening underneath the waterfall. I read that in a book. We could go?"

Michael chuckled and smiled "Sure sounds like fun if you think this is something I will show you the Aura nebula sometime it's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, you and I aren't so different you spent most of your life in a cell and I spent most of it in a body strewn wasteland of a warzone fighting a war we could never win but would make sure niether did our enemy" Michael may not well trained in the force but he could sense it in her "so that's why someone keep such a beautiful girl like you locked up your a force sensitive"

She couldn't see how war was anything like what she had been though. She had been taken from her family at three and forced into a cell. The young witch hadn't even been given the chance to be a slave as they hadn't wanted that from her. The only thing her captors had ever wanted from her was her gifts. She understood now that the gift of sight was rare and that was the one they had most desired from her.

"Did you chose to go fight that war or did they make you fight. Why were you there?" The only war that she had ever been apart of happened to be the day she was rescued. Other than that, she didn't understand them or the need for them. Perhaps, she just didn't understand the reason behind this one.

"My powerful gifts make me dangerous in the eyes of some. They were scared what I could do, what I could become. I understand that now which is why they tried hard to turn me and if they couldn't do that they wished to take my gifts." It had taken her time to see her powers as gifts. She understood now that they were gifts and not curses.

"I was fighting for survival, the right to keep breathing it was expected for every member of my clan it was either fight or die pretty simple choice , like I said we are not so different your cage was made of iron bars mine was made of barbed wire,battle and bodies as for your powers well the way I see it ,forgive the metaphor but the force is like a sickness and emotion is the medicine too much and you remain weak , too little and you stay sick it all becomes about balance" Michael offered her a hand "So are we going to see this cave or not"

She nodded as now she could understood. The young oracle had also been fighting for her life her whole life. She wanted for once in her life to just stop and smell the roses to lay on the grass and just look up at the stars without being afraid someone may hurt her. It was a silly dream however she really hoped that one day she would be able to not be so worried. "Are any members of your clan still alive?" It would be worse if his family was also dead and she hoped that was not the case.

"This is far too depressing, we should go check out that cave now." She nodded at him before carefully climbing her way down the tree. She didn't want to think about the past or her Force abilities. She would get a handle on her gifts in time.

Michael smiled " I agree well you lead the way" he climbed down the tree as best he could without looking like an idiot. This planet was starting to grow on him at least the company was more pleasant than most of his jobs he gave an exagerated gesture for [member="Anastasia Rade"] to lead the way."So why Dantooine of all planets did you choose to visit?

"I don't know, I wanted to get out and see the galaxy. The next place I go will have snow. I have heard about snow but I have never seen it before. I want to experience it which I know it sounds silly but I have missed so much. I want to see it all!" She smiled spinning in a circle as she continued to walk along to the waterfall.

Now that she was free she wished to take in everything that she had been missing all this galaxy. She was glad to have a friend to come along with her on this crazy ride. The cave would be much more fun with someone than alone.

Michael couldn't help but grin "Sure I can take you to a planet with snow but we will need to get you some winter clothing before we go" he was entranced by the girl's innocence and open mindedness despite his better judgement he was starting to have feelings for this girl "I see the waterfall I will race you to it" he offered the little challenge it seemed that all was right with the world in this brief momment in time a momment he wanted to hold on to for the rest of eternity , he admitted to himself he hadn't been this happy in what seemed like a lifetime.

She didn't have much in the way of clothing as it was but that wasn't something he needed to know. Anastasia was happy with the little she had and didn't really need much of anything else just her freedom. "Deal,"'she grinned before sprinting off towards the waterfall. Anastasia dare not look behind her to see if he was behind her or not. She was going to win against him!

Running into the water she did her best to paddle her way to the waterfall. He would probably beat her on this as she had yet learned how to swim. The young oracle was really having fun and letting herself lighten up a little to have more fun.

Michael sprinted after her she was most certainly faster than him when it came to running but he was certainly the stronger swimer but being the good sport he was he slowed down enough to make it a close race his armor eventually slowed him down enough that she over took him she won the race at the end of the day "[member="Anastasia Rade"] well looks like you beat me" he smiled broadly.

"You better have not let me win!" She grinned spinning around in the water to face him. Anastasia had tried her best and she hoped that he had put his best foot forward as well as the young seer did not want to win by default. It was fun either way and she very much was enjoy hanging out with him and being a kid if even for a little while.

"Ready to go inside? I think there are crystals inside. I have never seen a crystal before so this should be really interesting." She hadn't seen most things and exploring not alone would be a lot of fun. She was looking forward to exploring more with him.
