Private An Interesting Encounter

Ardon blinked for a moment as he heard her admit to not knowing the difference between poaching or scrambling. He would have chuckled slightly at the 'Master' reference, if he could. Laughing, still not a thing that translated well. Instead his mix of amusement and awkwardness at even remotely being seen as a master/teacher of anything was quite visible.

He stroked his chin trying to think, "Ardon = Can show you scrambling. You = Can copy." he said finally thinking he could make it work. He set up four bowls, two by two, one bigger and one smaller each, more dishes, but that was ok. He also got out two forks, setting one in each of the sets of bowls. Got out the eggs, cracked one over one of the bowls, "Ardon = usually checks for shells first this way. Shells = Much harder to remove after put into group. Ardon = Takes eggs from little bowl to bigger bowl. Ardon = Will mix or scramble after."

He was certainly trying to help teach. Knowing how to make food was pretty important for anyone to know, at least that's what he thought.

So he was amused, good. Her joke didn’t fall flat on its face.

Okay, so now she needed to copy as instructed. She followed his instructions carefully. She cracked the eggs, checked for shells, whisked when directed, added milk as directed and followed his instructions in putting it on the stove. She wasn’t terrible but there was much room for improvement. She watched him cook, and committed it to memory.

It was also about this time that the other two began waking up and moving about.

Ardon was, honestly, enjoying himself. Really it was odd how such a simple thing could be so enjoyable for a person who spent so much time in an active lifestyle. But maybe the more commonality and low toned nature of it was what helped here, or, perhaps more specifically that it was being done with Mila.

It wasn't a particularly complicated thing, but when he thought about it, doing anything for the first time was likely hard. Regardless, he was enjoying it. Soon though, the other two came in, and he actually felt moment of wishing they hadn't. But they were here now. There was nothing he could do about that. He smiled again at Mila.

"Ardon + Mila = Made eggs." He told them, "You = Hungry?"

Mila was learning. She loved learning! And she was spending time with a new friend of hers. She had been so focused on her studies and work that she hadn't made time to make friends, and she didn't know what she was missing until now. So she learned and got closer to Ardon as she did. Honestly, at that moment she didn't want to be anywhere else.

Then the other two came in just as the eggs were finishing up. And Ardon informed them that they had been cooking. She said, "I'll get the table set."

She did just that, setting plates down and forks for the eggs plus cups for water. Then she helped Ardon serve the breakfast.

Ardon had family, he didn't have as bad of a time with getting to spend at least some time around friends as a result. But, that was family. Sometimes you needed someone outside of your relatives. She got closer, he certainly didn't do anything to stop that. This was nice, he didn't get to do stuff like this specifically. For all the situation they were in, at least right now, it wasn't so bad.

It was a shame it couldn't go on right now. Mila went to set up the tables. And her and him served the meal itself. As he sat down he rubbed his forehead in thought, the stress of the situation was somewhat returning. He could handle stress fairly well, but this was a very bad situation to be in. Strange as it was, it was during the action that he was usually less stressed. The preparation for it was usually the concern. And what reprieve he got from cooking with Mila was fast deteriorating.

She sat with Ardon once the food had been served. And she asked the other two, "so how did all of you sleep?"

"I slept pretty well," Kark informed them.

Taros spoke up next. "I did too. What about you guys? Sleep well?"

Mila nodded, her smile refusing to leave. "How do you like the eggs? I hope I didn't have too bad of an affect on them."

Ardon listened to their responses, nodding and smiling to each of them as they gave positive answers. And then asked in return if they slept well. Mila nodded and asked about the eggs, which he smiled to again before responding as well.

"Ardon = Slept well. Eggs = Good. Ardon = Maybe biased." He said.

He began to eat while thinking, looking at those at the table, maybe a little more often at Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa then the others. He didn't want her to get hurt, but he doubted they could really accomplish this with any less people. It was risky already with the numbers they had. He'd probably have to start doing more thorough communications in the future maybe. Or find more remote landing points first, scout, then leave.

Maybe biased? What did he mean by that? She had no idea what he meant by that, so she didn’t think too hard on it. She could tell that hi she gaze landed on her more frequently than it did on the others. This forced to bring a blush to her cheeks, but she had a lot of practice forcing those away from her face. So she hid her embarrassment fairly well.

“I’m glad you like it.”

Ardon continued to eat, he was somewhat fast but that had to do with the situation. He'd love to savor food but he didn't quite feel today was the day for that. He smiled slightly when he realized that Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa had blushed and then looked down to hide it. She gave a short response.

Now what. He suddenly felt at a loss on what to do. Talk? Just eat? Even the only things he could think of were pretty short. He thought a little bit more as he ate. Finally he figured, maybe they should figure out what to do, "We = Are going to need to be careful. We = Do not know of any backup. We = May have to move fast when we start or: They = May be able to grow defenses faster than we can get past them."

"not if I can get into their system. You said you had a computer onboard, and we still have that communicator. I can use that to get into their security, which means we only need to worry about the actual pirates themselves."

She scratched her chin in thought. "I don't think we'll actually need to go there unless the location of their cannon isn't kept on the computer."

Ardon listened as she explained, right, she was good with tech. And they did still have the communicator. He hoped they wouldn't find a way to cut out it's connection. Though, if they needed to, maybe they could get another one. Ok, so this was more a matter of getting her what she needed. He tapped his fingers in thought.

"This = Sounds good. You = Will need: What?" He asked, willing to just try and accomplish what she needed them to.

“I’ll just need a computer with an antenna that can pick up and send radio waves.” She said simply. “I have a computer with me, so really I’ll just need to hook up the communicator to this here and then all I’ll need is time.”

She gestured to the curved screen on her forearm when she mentioned her computer. “So the real question is how soon do we want it done.”

Ardon nodded to her answer, his ship definitely had the ability to fit those part, so they had the first goal already taken care of really. She asked how soon they wanted it done also. He held out his hands, "Done = As soon as possible. Angel = Ready to fly." he responded. Far as he was concerned it was perfectly fine to get a move on, if that was currently an option. Only issue was probably if it would actually work or not.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa

“Alright, but we need to find out where it is first, so I’ll likely work on my own and once we have the location, I’ll be able to tell what exactly we need to do afterwards. The worst case scenario is that we need to find the cannon manually, and shut it down manually. In which case I will need to disable their security on the fly. So give me a few hours and I will be able to tell us more about what exactly we need.”

Ardon nodded as she spoke. She needed a few hours to figure things out, they still could end up having to go there, but it would be wonderful if it as possible to not have that need. That meant that while she might end up being the busy one, they might have time. Not that he could think of much to do with it.

"Droid = Could help. Ardon = Good with electronics but: Ardom = Too slow." He said. Given the way he often communicated with them, it was a bit harder to make things move fast when it came to longer and more complex matters. Overlapping variables being some of the more difficult things to deal with.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa

“Thanks. Help me get set up?” She asked.

She would begin her work, first it was to use a few retractable cords to connect her computer to the communicator and to the antenna system of Ardon’s ship. She set to work soon after, checking systems and databases and files of various kinds. She hummed, and decided to download the lot of it for easy access and later referencing.

But she still had quite a lot of work ahead of her.

He nodded smiling again as she asked if he'd help her get set up.

The process would not prove difficult, or even initially all that time consuming at least. It seemed they had what they needed to get it all done, however, his aid would likely not prove extremely useful at the moment. Yes he could 'speak' to code, but that was not always as effective as it sounded. And there was still the risk he could trip alarms were he to attempt to aid at the same time as Mila. It was best to let her and the droid figure it all out, rather than adding in another part.

That meant that he had time to think, and put to use what his cybernetics could do. He sat down nearby, using his own set up to avoid interfering with hers. And started running calculations, evasive techniques, hyperspace lanes and routes, ship functions, and attempting to truly maximize their resources they had at the moment, for when they finally got the chane to get out of there.

So he didn't want to work directly with her, that's fine, he helped in his own way. He helped her get set up, making sure the right wires were connected and in the right places, then went and started to get them prepared for their escape. Oh well, this was a bit more of a solo job than a team effort anyway, there were only so many ways one could utilize a computer, and usually it only required one person. So she got straight to work whilst he did his own.

If he were to look over he'd see her laser focused on the job, expertly typing in numbers and commands into her computer, bypassing network security and getting into places that they didn't want her getting into. There was a slight, eh... mishap when she came across some rather lewd files and squeaked in surprise before getting the heck out of that particular corner of their network. Finally she got what they needed, "Bad news, the cannon is an isolated system, nothing connected to it save the main command panel and that isn't connected to anything else. If we want that thing disabled we need to be onsite."

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa (Dang I thought I responded already)

There was only so much he could really help with. Better to keep busy in some way that would be useful. She was busy, that was clear. It had a focus that reminded him of what it was like when he flew his ship on a difficult job. Of course he had the advantage of cybernetics in that endeavor. It was funny how focus could change something so much. It wasn't necessarily that there were no distractions, just that the way distractions impacted the work changed. Even the mind itself seemed to fit perfectly for the task at hand.

He popped his head up when he heard a squeak but she seemed to be fine so he simply smiled and continued his own tests until she gave him the news. So, onsite it was. He furrowed his brow thinking it over, "If: We = All go at once: They = could respond too well. Ardon = Suggests a distraction. Ardon = Could find another site + Attack an arms bunker. Ardon = Well armed + good in a fight. Ardon = could make a lot of noise. Then you = target cannons? If: Ardon = Succeeds. We = could be better equipped. If: Ardon = has to retreat: You = should be able to disable guns. You = Have thoughts on this?"
