Private An Interesting Encounter

So he didn't pursue the knowledge of why she squeaked, lucky. And also lucky was that he had an idea of how to handle the situation. Splitting up wasn't the best idea in her mind but he explained his intentions, and yes, that did sound useful. But most likely, at least to her, they wouldn't lower the security of the guns, that being the mainstream security for the whole planet. Actually now that she was thinking about it this was more of a violent, rogue planet with it's own government, not pirates. But even so, that meant that they had enough people to man the defenses for the entirety of the planet, which also meant that they had enough people to subdue one guy without leaving their biggest defenses unmanned.

"I don't think that's the best idea." She said simply. "They clearly have enough people to keep the entire planet secure, and since that's their goal they won't sacrifice too many people from any one of the guns just to go hunt down one guy. No, I think it's best if we stay as one unit and try to take out their gun together. Besides, if you cause a ruckus elsewhere, that would just make them more alert that someone causing trouble is around and they'd be more ready for us. Even if we do the two thing simultaneously, it's not as if the gun will have the time to react and get there in time to stop you, or otherwise sacrifice that many people to go hunt you down anyway. A distraction could work though, maybe you could attack one side of the facility, or maybe something nearby enough to be considered an immediate threat so that they need all hands on deck while me and one of the other two go and sneak in from the rear. Maybe that could succeed?"

She could come up with other ideas, but really the only thing she knew for certain was where on the planet the cannon was, not the layout, how big the surrounding defenses were, whether it was hidden or not, heck even if it had security, but it would be dumb not to put security on that thing so it was safe to assume that much.

Wasn't much he could do, so he did what he could. But not to waste time. At least, not right now. Then they got the matter of planning, that was something participate-able for him. She disagreed on his suggestion, made a good point. More than one good point actually. However, some level of the plan might work. A distraction seemed still viable to her. He nodded his head as he listened, trying to figure out the best course of action from what they knew.

"Ardon = could work with that + would be nearer in order to help. Ardon = may need time to make it seem legitimate. Ardon = could attempt a fake entrance + intentionally get seen. Ardon = Then to force inside. You = get gun offline. Ardon = gives up attack. This = what you suggest?" he asked to be sure he understood what she meant. This was not the type of thing he usually did. Smuggling yes, but this wasn't smuggling, this had turned into some kind of covert operation.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa

"That's the basic idea yes. But if you attack the facility itself it might not work that well since they might put it in lockdown or throw up security everywhere to cover their flanks. I'm no strategist but I've escaped enough slavers and bounty hunters to know when and where a group will put up guards. And to attack the facility when such a place is vital to the security of the entire planet will just put their entire guard up, and they might even bring in some help from other, less important places. I'm thinking more along the lines of causing mass havoc everywhere around the facility, blowing up their black markets, weapons dealers, weapons caches and other such things. It will take longer to plan, prepare and execute such an action but I think it might be our safest bet in getting their facility low on manpower, since if they have enough immediate trouble everywhere else, it's more likely that they will deem dispatching some security to help deal with the problem, which leaves them a little more vulnerable to little ol me and my sabotaging fingers."

Ardon listened, his brow furrowed, this was so very much not his area of expertise. If this was a space fight, or a civilian area, piece of cake. But it was not. This was an operation. And he was still wrapping his head around that. "Ardon = believes that is possible. Ardon = could also flood communicators with noise once started. Communicators = become too busy to be used. Confusion = could delay good reactions." he explained. That way, while an alert of somekind would be out there, they wouldn't be able to coordinate what exactly was going on. And would have to rely on purely verbal tactics such as shouting, which meant the loudest person might get the most attention. What they needed though was to make sure the people were away from where Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa would be. That was a little more difficult. Ardon didn't really carry many kinds of explosives, and what little he might have somewhere, would likely not be quite enough to cause some havoc. But, maybe if they had some speeders, or even better, tanks, he could make an alternative way of causing issues. "You = have any data on machinery or vehicles? Ardon = could hijack easily + use for destruction or: distract."

He wasn't sure how much his suggestions could help. He just wanted to give her the information she might need to make things move.

Confusion = could delay good reactions." he explained.

She nodded in response to his explanation. "That could definitely work. I doubt we'll completely remove their security but you doing all of that would certainly help us along. Inability to communicate would certainly deal quite the blow. So yes, that's a good plan to put into motion. Do you have something to do that with or do you need me to construct one?"

That was a little more difficult. Ardon didn't really carry many kinds of explosives, and what little he might have somewhere, would likely not be quite enough to cause some havoc. "I didn't find any vehicle data, but that shouldn't be hard to get my hands on. Besides I can probably craft a few chemical explosives on the way there or when we get there. I imagine an operation like this might take a few weeks of preparation, reconnaissance and plan adjustment. So really we can only get the overview completed here and now, we'll need to smooth out the kinks once we're onsite. It is a town after all, it shouldn't be too hard to blend in." She told him, putting her thoughts out there. "Do you have an inventory of what sorts of chemicals you have on board the ship? Also what sort of equipment do you have that I might be able to use for making those explosives?"

It was not the perfect solution, but it was at least a solution. She agreed with the possibility of flooding the comms and him making a mess of things. For him, it was the equivalent of just screaming "AAAAA" in his head for an extended period of time. A background thought perhaps, irritating a little, but more so for anyone trying to actually use the comms. She asked if he had something he needed for that and he shook his head. "Ardon = just needs the communicator. Ardon = talks well with electronics. Ardon = can just scream silently into it + transmit signal to connected channels."

While the injury he had sustained was certainly a common hinderance, it did come with that slight advantage. He rubbed his forehead as she mentioned the amount of time it could take. His ship definitely had the consumables space for that time. Over 2 months worth usually, but still, any further mess ups could be disastrous. She also mentioned an inventory of possible chemicals or equipment to use. He'd lost a good batch of the supplies brought for the village they were meant for. But he should still have plenty of stuff on board. And definitely a manifold. "Ardon = should have list. Ardon = unsure about chemical options. If: required: Ship = mostly full on fuel. Fuel = could be partially siphoned. Ardon = does have weapons. Weapons = could be taken apart for components?" he wasn't sure about this chemical stuff. While he did have extra weapons. They weren't many. About enough for standard armament for a regular crew to have a rifle and a blaster pistol each. Certainly with extra ammunition, but normally it'd be just him dealing with that so not an incredible amount for a whole crew.

She asked if he had something he needed for that and he shook his head. "Ardon = just needs the communicator. Ardon = talks well with electronics. Ardon = can just scream silently into it + transmit signal to connected channels."

"Okay. Does that mean that we won't be able to communicate with each other either or will this only flood their communicators? I'd assume the former, so prior planning is necessary but since we're a small group, it might not be too difficult."

And definitely a manifold. "Ardon = should have list. Ardon = unsure about chemical options. If: required: Ship = mostly full on fuel. Fuel = could be partially siphoned. Ardon = does have weapons. Weapons = could be taken apart for components?"

"Okay. I could make some explosives or specialized weapons given time, if stealing a tank isn't an option." She told him. "That and we can always liberate some chemicals and components from smugglers sheltering on the planet. Or we could rig existing machines and equipment to explode. Say if we steal a tank we can rig the others to explode when activated."

(Sorry, Life is kicking my ass right now.)

He bobbed his head side to side making a face, "Ardon = could avoid flooding all. Ardon = May still have difficulty hearing. Ardon = communicates to device + communicates to people the same. Screaming + communicating = Somewhat difficult." he tried to explain. Agreeing that future planning would be the best choice of action.

She explained the use of a list so they'd have another option outside of a tank. She also brought up some other alternatives which he nodded to in thought, they all seemed feasible to him. The possibility of taking from others nearby to make this work did seem viable, though he could see one potential flaw.
"Those = good. But if: we are detected stealing items for explosives: our plan = could be partially understood?"

She nodded, "Makes sense. Could there be a way where we could set up a noise loop that runs on it's own from some other source while you control one channel that we use?"

"Potentially. But also this is a planet of criminals it could easily be an everyday occurrence, something passed off as normal. But you aren't wrong, if unfamiliar people are seen attacking very specific places and taking very specific things they might get nervous and be on their guard." She said thinking to herself. What could the solution be?

"Any thoughts?"

(IRL happens to everyone. I had to get my visa renewed and I had to leave the country for a day or two. I got to see Istanbul! C=)

Ardon listened to her suggestion and smiled slightly wandering why he didn't think of that idea on the loop. "It = Possible. Ardon = will bring use two comms." he responded. The topic then moved on to his other concern, their plan being uncovered by attempts to get the materials they need. That was true, with criminals, theft might be less noticed. On the other hand, precision might be more noticed.

He leaned against one of the walls in thought, there were a lot of things he would like to have access to in order to accomplish this. He was really missing having the ability to get help from his family or the company at the moment. But, it is what it is, wouldn't be the first time he was on his own but it still was a far less ideal situation.
"We = could use alternating disguises + targets?" he prompted. "We = spread out attacks over different materials that do not match. We = would take longer + more time at risk. We = would be less likely to reveal plans?"

"Alrighty then. That's perfect." She said with a happy smile. She was glad they had a solution to this particular problem, it was refreshing to have problems that could be solved quickly.

He leaned against one of the walls in thought, there were a lot of things he would like to have access to in order to accomplish this. He was really missing having the ability to get help from his family or the company at the moment. "We = spread out attacks over different materials that do not match. We = would take longer + more time at risk. We = would be less likely to reveal plans?"

She thought on this with an audible "hmmm". She looked at him, "Well, I doubt that people will look too closely, it isn't a bad idea though. So it could certainly work. It might prove to be a little unnecessary but I suppose it's always better to be safe than sorry. Besides, making bombs isn't that hard, it doesn't even take that many chemicals. Mix thermite and gunpowder and you have a big, incendiary bomb, the gunpowder for the explosion, the thermite for the incendiary factor, or if we get our hands on some nitrogen and toluene, then we could have ourselves quite the show."

What could she say, she made weapons for the Confederacy, she loved bombs in particular. Actually, now that she thought about it... "Hey, speaking of bombs, what if we just blew up the cannon, instead of bothering with sneaking in, hacking it's mainframe and causing damage that could be repaired, why not just sneak in, set up a bomb, get out, get in the ship, set it off and get offworld before they can do anything?"

So that was one problem solved. It was a shame they weren't all done so easily. At least, in theory, in practice this might be a little more difficult than it sounded but he believed he could still manage.

She did seem to think the additional effort he suggested could be unnecessary but still might prove useful, though apparently the necessary process of the bomb was supposedly not too difficult. And they might even have multiple possibilities depending on what they could get to their disposal. She certainly knew what she was doing in that regard. Though only now apparently did the thought of blowing up the cannon itself become a possible solution.

He tilted his head in thought trying to consider the possibilities. Mainly explosive power compared to what defenses they might have. That could certainly provide a great aid as opposed to longer sabotaging methods. And possibly more lasting solution. "That = could work. We = would need to know: cannon durability + explosive strength."

After the explosion, it was plausible he could summon his ship to him. Or just leave his droid behind to pilot it to them, and they could rush out to meet it or something. Then they could finally get off this mess.

Mila Uhlesifa Mila Uhlesifa

"That = could work. We = would need to know: cannon durability + explosive strength."

"Not necessarily." She explained. "All we need to do is make sure the cannon can't soot at us. So damaging the targeting system would be a bare minimum solution but it would still work. What would be even better is if we disabled it's ability to shoot, which means all we need to damage is the firing mechanism and we should be home free. We don't need to destroy the gun itself. Or if we end up wanting to, we just go overboard with the explosives,, when it comes to this kind of thing, if you have to choose between too little and too much, I recommend too much."

"But there's also the issue of detonation." She said putting a finger to her chin in thought, "A gun like that is huge, which means we'll need a bigger bomb to disable it, which means we need to be further away in order to be safe from the explosion, which means they have more time to find and disable the bomb, which would have to be fairly big to begin with since the gun is as big as it is. So our options are either remote detonation or a timed detonation. Which means even more components, luckily for us, a time bomb is fairly easy to make since basically anything that tells time can be used as the timer. But then we'll be on a time schedule. So we'll have to plan accordingly."

All right, another easier solution. He was still thinking too much about long lasting results. It didn't need to last long, just long enough for them to get out. If they couldn't target or just couldn't shoot, that's all they needed to fix. Even if it only lasted long enough for him to get a good distance away that'd be enough. He nodded as she explained. Then, came the new problem. Detonation.

A timer, or a remote. Time bomb was easy, but a remote bomb was safer. He stroked his chin thinking. "We = could use comms system for detonation?" he asked, "Ardon = could stop jamming comms + contact detonation comm when ready." he wasn't sure if it was safer or not, she seemed to know a lot more about this than he did. But it was a suggestion at least.

"Yes that could work, only risk is that any stray signal on the Comms could set them off. Which could prove even more dangerous than a timer. Especially if there's so much activity." Mila told him. "It's viable but risky. There are safeguards we can put in place, but that would take more time."

She continued to think. Then she got an idea. "you know what, let's do that. I'll put in a timed safety to give me time to get out, and after that the signal will be let through and the bomb will detonate."

Progress, progress, yet never done. It had only been a day and it felt like that too him. Yet they still felt ever so much closer than they were before. He just hoped there wouldn't be another challenge that had to take this much time, once they got rid of the cannon. Mila made a good point, a stray signal could pose a risk. Especially with as much comm traffic as there could be once the action started.

A timer to prevent it from getting the signal might be good though, then they should have time to get out, but would also still control the actual detonation. It was feasible, and wouldn't require an excess of work to make it so that only a special signal, or set of signals, would set it off. Ardon nodded, "Ardon = Agrees with this plan."

"Alright then. We're off to the outlaw city of Karkazan." She said with a smile. "I'll get to work on making a list of components for the bomb, and I'll make sure we have alternatives just in case."

She gave him the coordinates so that they could travel to the city. Maybe they should retrieve the foodstuffs from the shelter, or leave it there in case things went very badly? She'd say that the latter was better, contingencies contingencies.

"This is likely going to take the better part of a month to plan and prepare for, so be ready to hunker down."

He nodded as she said they were off now, and that she'd get a list of things they would need. So they could get ready to head out soon. he'd leave the astromech here, and bring all his armor with him naturally. Never know how much that might be needed. She explained this might take a month to complete. So it was a very good thing his ship had plenty of consumables for that time.

Ardon held out his arms in a shrug, "Month of this = better than in cell or dead." he admitted ready to get on the move. Could be worse he guessed, though, it could also be a lot better.
