Anaxes Assemblage

Location: Imperial Marine Base outside of Pols Anaxes, Anaxes

Commander Temi had been summoned to the Imperial Marine Base just outside of Pols Anaxis by a higher ranking officer by the name of General Vior. She really didn’t think that much of the meeting to be honest, and with her normal bravado, just assumed he would be showering her with accolades for her recent activities, especially the high recruitment numbers in her platoons. The Morpho Center was also coming along quite nicely and while the laboratory wasn’t finished, she thought that perhaps the shining facility had also caught the eye of the General.

After landing, Tmoxin met him near the entrance to the base. Anaxes, even as an ecumenopolisas, was a well-landscaped planet, and the area surrounding the Marine Base was lush and green with winding paths and groves of maple and oak trees. A small farm lay beside the base and a field was dotted with colorful grazing Keffis.

The two officers both had a few stormtroopers among them as security detail, so they weren’t alone but the weather was nice and as Tmoxin strode up to the entrance General Vior was waiting for her.

“Let’s take a walk outside, Commander,” he said after she gave him an Imperial salute in greeting.

Funny though he wasn’t smiling. And although this wasn’t too unusual for stuffy, older, battle-scarred military leaders, something seemed off. She got the distinct idea he was angry with her. Her palms began to sweat but she gracefully sidestepped so he could join her on the path and they began to slowly walk together, taking in the fresh air.

She shook her head and smiled slightly at his response. He only wanted it for a DNA test which made sense as any girl could walk in here and state that they were his only daughter. The fact that she was a Mandalorian made her whole story doubtful but still he had met with her. Perhaps he had just wanted to amuse a pretty girl and now she was being paranoid. No, of course not. That makes perfect sense and I'm happy to provide proof. I have a few questions first."

If they wanted to keep daddy dearest's affairs secrets a secret from anyone but family it had to be big. The thought of such made her cringe but even at that she still wanted to know. He had been her father after all. Ana now was left wondering just how many planets had he destroyed. She cringed a little at the thought. Still she wanted to know and close that chapter for good. "How would this process work? I don't like the idea of waltzing into an Imperial lab for blood work. I'm sure you can understand that." The Empire probably already had her blood on file and there wasn't much they could do with it. She was no fool either and was not going to let anybody just poke at her.

Ali wandered about the purple-leafed trees of the forest casually, garbed in a pair of short khakis and a light gray dress with sleeves that ended at her elbows and lacework designs sewn over in silver. She wore a brown leather sunhat as well and tan, twine-wrapped wedge sandals. Her hair was left wild in long chocolate brown locks that tumbled down over her shoulders. Ali's eyes were accented by a thick circle of eyeliner and her lips were colored in a shade of red that almost matched the trees of the forest. She carried on her a small clutch that contained her falsified credentials and some extra funds, as well as a hidden pouch where a secure commlink, handheld tablet, and slicer were housed. The only weapon she carried was a small durasteel push dagger that was hidden at the small of her back, behind the lacy strap that wrapped around her waist.

Ali enjoyed her time in the forest, wandering and breathing fresh air. It was dark beneath the canopy, the understory being more filled with shadow than sunlight in the late morning. A fog hung about as well, filling the forest like a cloud too lazy to meet with its friends in the sky. Ali walked amongst the leaves and roots and dirt that coated her path, passively searching out the individuals she was tasked with tracking down. Tmoxin Temi was an Imperial Commander with ties to others that had access to information the Republic wanted on certain weapons technologies. The base nearby was supposedly conducting training exercises and part of Ali's task was to obtain the planning and AAR data on each of the events.
At the moment, Temi was meeting with Imperial General Vior, a name well known to Republic high command. Ali remained out of sight and sound for the time being, knowing she would miss nothing more than pleasantries.

Third Moon of Phlors Regina

Nyms_Stronghold_cantina_interior.jpg

Orick sat in the cantina and leaned back in the chair, his drink was slowly getting warm on the table in front of him. He wasn't in the mood for a drink, but he knew that he had to order something to keep the bouncers from punting out of the cantina. He had dropped off [member="Anastasia Rade"] a few hours ago on Anaxes and he had decided that staying close was a prudent idea, it was a Sith held world after all and they were both officially enemies of the Sith.

Phlors Regina was a gas giant that had a booming gas mining operation being run from the planet's moons. The third moon, the second closest to the planet was a miners dream world, and it was always so busy with traffic, that he had little trouble convincing anyone that he was just a simple freighter captain on a gas run. He knew that Ana didn't really need his help, but she had decided against going in her armor, and she had only brought one of his small hold out pistols with her.

He wasn't going to let her go to a Sith world, in Sith space without him being close enough to respond if there was trouble. It was times like this that he wished he still commanded that heavy cruiser, that would be the kind of backup that would likely start a war, but it was worth it to keep her safe. So here he sat, nursing a watered down, over priced drink in Sith territory. He wasn't all that impressed with the cantina, the music was good, but everything else about the place stunk. He wondered if that was because the Imperials controlled pretty much everything.

He had seen a rather large presence of stormtroopers on the small moon in the short time he had been here, and not or the first time was happy that he had a second set of ID codes for the Ranger and himself. Today he was using the name Sinjin Smiley and he was captain of the Unlucky Lady. He had spent more than a few creds to make that ID stick and he knew it would hold up to anything that port security checked. He wondered who it was that Ana was meeting, he probably should have done a thorough check on this officer before letting her get anywhere near him. He hoped that the fact that her father was an Imperial would hold weight

The leafy forest just outside of the base held a majestic view, but Tmoxin couldn’t enjoy it as she was fearful over what the General needed to discuss with her. And sure enough, he didn’t waste any time with getting right down to business.

“While your reputation precedes you in the halls of Imperial Headquarters, I have to ask you about some of your activities lately. Do you happen to know what I’m talking about?”

Tmoxin tested her most innocent look out on the General, flashing her sultry brown eyes in his direction and said, “I really don’t have the slightest idea. But I do think there are those out there who want to slander my good…”

“Commander,” he said sternly cutting her off. “It’s been brought to my attention that you are turning slaves into stormtrooper recruits. And not only that, but using unorthodox tactics with which to train them including mind control drugs and other overly coercive methods. I sincerely hope this isn’t true. And if so, I will allow you to explain yourself.” His voice was disciplinary and authoritative.

The two high ranking officials walked side by side, with the security detail behind them. Tmoxin stalled for a minute, the wheels turning in her head to try and formulate a story that didn’t make her unsavory activity sound… well, so barbaric and very much prohibited under the Imperial recruitment policy. While capturing prisoners of war was a necessarily evil in warfare, enslaving able-bodied men and conscripting them into the Imperial Army or Marines was very much forbidden. With anxiety coursing swiftly through her, the Hapan officer decided a quick apology was her best bet rather than trying to justify her actions.

“I admit my wrong doings, General. I will cease all of that activity at once.” It wasn’t quite an apology but still.

He sighed and said, “I am extremely disappointed in you, Commander Temi. I want a full report from and I want it on my desk by the morning. It’s going in your file you can be sure of that.” She flushed with anger and shame, not quite remorseful at what she had done with the slaves, but more guilty that she had gotten caught.

“General, please allow me to share some other information that may be of use to you and which will hopefully erase this blemish from my record.”

The snap of a twig could be heard behind them and a jumpy stormtrooper fired his blaster out into the forest. All of them ducked down momentarily, until the troopers trotted around, but no one appeared to be there.

“It’s nothing, sir… just heard a noise,” said the stormtrooper.

Of course there was never much to the things Hans did. He was as he referred to himself: a simple man who merely did his job. It was, in his opinion, that things moved a lot more smoothly, peacefully, and orderly when the general inhabitants of Sith territory did as they were told. Tourists and visitors were an entirely different matter, however, but the Captain wasn't one for catering to a group of people just because they wanted to come here. All citizens, residents, and beings were subject to Imperial customs and laws the moment they stepped foot into that blip of dark red on the Galactic map.

When Anastasia voiced her concern, the officer was all ears with an easygoing smile upon his features. "Well, Miss Rade, this entire thing is to be done entirely safely and your confidentiality will remain a secret. No, I'm not going to have you enter an Imperial base for simple bloodwork, but I would appreciate it if you accompanied me to my headquarters." The man cocked his head towards the beast of burden he had outside. "My men are under orders to keep you away from harm and you have my word on those matters. Besides, it would be a shame if you caught an infection out in the open like this rather than in a sterilized operating room."

Hans lifted his cup and finished off the rest of the bittersweet tea with a single gulp. "Now," he set it down and tucked a few Credits under it, "Shall we?"

The enemy never got to just walk into HQ. It was a chance at picking up intel which honestly was the reason she was here. Dear old dad's memory just got her in the door. As much as she was interested in learning about his deeds the current ongoings of the Imperials intrigued her much more. It was a huge risk walking in there and allowing him to take her anywhere much less some operating room. She knew that he was up to something, they all were. Ana was no idiot when it came to the dealings of Imperials. Her father had been in charge of the Graug slave camp when he was alive after all.

She had plenty of backup that she could call if no when things went South. Ana had no doubt [member="Orick T'ane"] was still around Sith space. He would never just dump her off into Sith space and run. There was also her brother but that was guaranteed to start a war so no Ana wouldn't do that. War would come when it came.

Glancing outside to his men whom were here to "protect" her Ana sighed before drinking the rest of her tea. She would fight him if there was any funny business she was a warrior even without the force. Ana could make anything into a weapon, even her heel. "I suppose that will work. Taking blood out here would probably raise a few eyebrows and disrupt the peace. I wouldn't want to do that." She half smiled pulling out a few of her own credits to set on the table.

"If you don't mind, I would like to use refresher before we go. Fresh up a bit."

“General, please allow me to share some other information that may be of use to you and which will hopefully erase this blemish from my record.”

Ali's ears pricked as she heard these words whisper through the trees and shrubs around her. Holding still where she was, Ali focused on everything she could see via the periphery of her vision, scanning around her silently, slowly. There.
A stormtrooper, she could tell by the way the white shoulder plate was curving downward, though most of the soldier's body was hidden from view. Might be an elbow plate. Ali thought. Semantics, shut up, she told the rest of her brain, careful to keep the individual within her periphery. Looking straight at someone who was bound to find you suspicious was the fastest way to get caught. Looking like an innocent bystander took practice, and it also meant not gazing directly at anything that might want to hunt you down. Ali stepped forward a few paces, putting a large, smooth-barked tree between her and the soldier. The voices she continued to hear, and listened carefully, hoping to pick up on something, anything that might lead her to the local military archives.
Her second objective was to observe the tactics and training of the local Imperial legions. Tmoxin Temi's soldiers had a reputation in certain circles of soldiers, especially in the parts of the Galaxy where they operated most potently. She hoped to tail Tmoxin using her cover as a civilian attaché, which meant she could secure access to casually observe the training scenes Temi was scheduled to run. Ali had already obtained her training schedule from a clerk who worked on the base's civilian administration team. There were several field events scheduled that Ali was keen to get an eye on.

After the stormtrooper dismissed the noise behind them as nothing, Tmoxin turned to the security detail and said, “I would like a word alone with the General. If you please." The Commander then motioned for them to move out of earshot.

The Hapan officer and the General then walked up a few paces on the wooded path to put further distance in between them and the soldiers, presumably to protect all of them – officers and troopers alike – from the sensitive information that was about to be shared.

“I have recently come upon intelligence reports that the Republic has contracted clones, thousands of them," she said in a low voice. "This has been done in secret with no public knowledge, but I don’t have information beyond that. I will have the Sgt. Major share the number of the Cipher Agent who tracked this information down."

The General frowned and pondered this new development. He nodded, acknowledging the information but said nothing. Speculation was not something the General did or took lightly especially in the presence of a lower-ranking officer.

“Thank you for sharing that with me, Commander. I’ll be sure to check into it.” He looked ahead as rays of sunshine peeked through the trees on the path, bathing it in a freckled, pastoral light. “It’s such a lovely day, I think I’ll continue on. Would you care to join me?” he asked offering his arm like a kindly grandfather.

“You know what General,” she said, motioning for her troops to follow her back to the garrison. “I think I’ll get started on that report as you requested. Good day.” She saluted him and walked quickly back up the path. Tmoxin’s mind was spinning and now she realized that before she wrote the report about purchasing slaves and training them into basic soldiers – which quite honestly she planned to have Sgt. Major Ulysses finish for her – there was one more slave she needed to get rid of before the General or even Captain Vaiden found out.

Around the time, Tmoxin had a huge bounty on her head, she had purchased a female slave, a red-haired decoy – quite a beautiful if provincial and shy woman - who resembled her and she had been keeping the woman aboard The Sovereign Butterfly II, disguised as the yacht’s First Mate. Her goal was to use the decoy to throw a bounty hunter off the trail or even pass the slave off as herself. But now she quickly needed to jettison the young woman so that she didn't risk ruining her reputation even further.

The only safe option appeared to be if she granted the girl her freedom. But what happened if the girl immediately went to the Anaxes authorities over the crime? As reluctant as she was, Tmoxin needed to talk to Hans Vaiden about this. He was one of the only people she trusted in the entire Imperial organization and she needed his council more than ever on what to do with the slave.

“Contact Captain Vaiden and find out where he will be,” she ordered the Sgt. Major. “I need to speak with him at once.”

[member="Hans Vaiden"] [member="Ali Hadrix"] [member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

"Of course not, Miss Rade." Hans reassured politely, "Take your time."

The Captain watched as the Grand Moff's daughter gracefully rose from her seat before turning and making her way towards the refreshers. The entire time this happened, Hans was simply seated at the wooden table as if he had no ulterior motives awaiting the young woman for when she returned. In actuality, he had a few being enacted this moment. Several squads of Storm Commandos had the entire building surrounded from various angles, with a pair of sniper teams covering both major exits and even more of their comrades ready to enter on a moment's notice.

Hans didn't want to utilize any force and he would rather not even mention anything to this woman about his men stationed outside. Rather, he would give her the benefit of a doubt to come peacefully. He harbored no ill-intent towards the woman, after all, and he really did intend on granting her access to whatever documents of her father she desired. Captain Vaiden just wanted something in return.

Nonchalantly, he lifted his wrist comlink to his lips. "Jam all outgoing frequencies, Sergeant. Ensure no transmissions leave this shop. The Princess may or may not be calling her friends for help, but I don't want her calling anyone at all." Hans received a simple confirmation of orders and they were carried out immediately. The officer switched channels and called in someone else, "Sigmund, be a dear and have some tea with me. I'm sure the Princess would like to meet you once she's finished as well."

A pause. "Confirmation: I'm sure she would, master. However, I doubt I am her type. I've been told I have child-bearing hips, but this diet of plain oil is killing me."

Hans scoffed at the crude joke, "Remind me to tone your humor module down by 20% when I get back."

"Answer: No promises, master." The droid gave another pause before continuing. "Report: Master, Commander Tmoxin Temi had requested your presence. She seems very excited to see you. Since you are so busy here, shall I disguise myself and attend this date as you?"

"Never mind, make that 30%. As for Commander Temi, let her know that I'll be right on my way once Miss Rade is finished. That will be all, Sigmund."

"Confirmation: Yes, master."

Orick had ordered three more drinks since he had been in the cantina. He was hoping that there would be something coming his way soon. He had already won a game of Sabacc and he was having trouble finding more people to get a second game going. The cantina was beginning to die down with the shift change still hours away he was one of only a few patrons still gracing the robotic bartender with his presence. Out of the corner of his eye he saw three white armored stormtroopers and an imperial officer enter the cantina. He sighed and leaned back in the chair, his demeanor was one of a relaxing patron that may have had a bit too much to drink. He only hoped that it worked long enough for the small group of Imperials to wander away. He saw one of them stop another parton and he knew that his luck was up, ti looked like they were doing a random ident check at the cantina.

He tilted his head back and closed his eyes, hoping that if they saw him sleeping they would leave him be. He felt the chair he was sitting in jump slightly to what he could only figure was a kick by one of the stormtroopers. He gave a toothy grin as he opened his eyes and looked up. " Evening fellas, how can I help ya?" He said, making sure to slur the right words to look a drunk without coming across as someone that needed time to think it over in the brig.

" Identification and purpose." The stormtrooper said with little emotion.

" Sure, I got it right here." Orick pulled out his falsified paperwork and identification card and handed it over to the stormtrooper who snatched it out of his hand. The trooper looked at the papers and the the holo ID picture of him and he glanced down at the slightly drunk transport captain.

" Says here you're Sinjin Smiley. You're captain of a ship called the Unlucky Lady. you were supposed to leave 4 standard hours ago." The stormtrooper looked like a robot in all of the armor and Orick could faintly hear the annoyance in his voice at finding something out of order.

" I am. Ship's got a hyperdrive leak, if I try to jump out of system I'll take out myself and any ship within 50 kilometers. Repairs are being made by the port techs, I was hoping to be gone by now but it seems like they're taking their time." He knew that the leak was a fake, as well as the techs not being finished, even in imperial space credits could get you what you needed, and he needed time. the stormtrooper went silent for a moment and Orick knew by watching his body language that he had called someone on his comm to verify the story of a broken hyperdrive.

It was only a few moments, but it was long enough for the officer to take notice and wander over. He stood off to the side and watched the conversation with a constant glare at Orick. The stormtrooper looked back down and dropped the papers on the table. " Your story check out, your presence has been logged and if you're here when the next patrol comes through you'll be taken in." He said as he walked off.

The officer stood where he was for a few more moments and frowned, " No more drinks for you either. You will sober up before you take off, if not I will personally see your license is revoked and you're sent to Anaxes for a stint of hard labour."

Orick nodded and looked very worried, " Yes sir... Thank you, sir." He watched the patrol leave and sighed, the entire conversation had only taken a couple of minutes, but it could have cost him hours had it fallen through. He needed to be gone before the next patrol came through, regardless of what happened on Anaxes.

Ali moved with Tmoxin and Vior, dipping behind a shrub to avoid the gaze of one stormtrooper as her turned her way. She padded off quietly in the dirty, moving as casually and swiftly as she could. She needed only travel a few dozen meters before Temi's voice wandered into her ears once more.
"...the Republic has contracted clones, thousands of them. This has been done in secret with no public knowledge, but I don’t have information beyond that. I will have the Sgt. Major share the number of the Cipher Agent who tracked this information down."
Ali frowned, They're not supposed to know that. Then again, Ali hadn't even been sure if the news were true. Last she'd known before rumor starting spreading through the ranks, clone armies had been heavily discouraged by the Republic, and to think of them fielding one made her skin crawl. Breeding people to die, there's nothing right about it. Ali thought bitterly as she listened in on the rest of the conversation. It was relatively short, ending with a few pleasantries and Temi requesting contact with a certain Hans Vaiden. Ali wrinkled her nose in thought, she didn't recall the name at first, though the dosseirs she had loaded on her datatablet told her everything she needed to know. Why would she need him, right now? Ali asked herself before slipping away into the forest once more but staying as close as possible in case Tmoxin let slip anything about her plans.

Slightly smiling Ana excused herself to go to the refresher. She didn't really need to go for any other reason than just to compose herself. Getting the chance to waltz into HQ was not something most people go to do so she needed to put on her game face. Glancing up at the mirror she took a deep breath as she turned on the sink. After taking a second deep breath she splashed some water on her face. Grabbing her commlink Ana found she had no signal which shouldn't have surprised her. He would of course do that just incase she tried to contact her friends.

Sighing she turned the sink and leaned up against the wall. The only thing that she really wanted to do was contact Orick and keep him informed on what was happening. She knew if she didn't check in he would get nervous after awhile about her but mostly Ana just wanted to tell him that she loved him. She didn't know what may happen once she got to Imperial headquarters. Placing the commlink back Ana closed her eyes for a moment as she took a deep breath. If she had any hopes of going back home she would need to play the game. She had always been good at playing the game.

Exiting the refresher she went back to the table where Hans was waiting for her patiently. "Shall we go?" She smiled shifting her purse on her shoulder.

[member="Ali Hadrix"][member="Tmoxin Temi"][member="Hans Vaiden"][member="Orick T'ane"]

Tmoxin waited impatiently outside of the garrison for the Sgt. Major to return. Once he did, he gave her the whereabouts of Commodore Vaiden:

“I’ve been in touch with Sigmund,” said the Sgt. Major. “And the Commodore will be in arriving at FleetCom shortly.”

“Great,” she said. "I'll be off now." Tmoxin waved her hand at him dismissively.

“You’re going alone?”

“Yes, please stay here and begin preparing a disciplinary report.”

“Yes, Commander.”

If still in the vicinity [member="Ali Hadrix"] would see the Sgt. Major returning to the garrison to file the report and then see Tmoxin walking to one of the landing pads were her private yacht was stationed. She went inside the Sovereign Butterfly II and retrieved her “First Mate,” a woman who looked uncannily like Tmoxin herself, with red hair, pale skin... she was even nearly the same height. The Hapan officer led this young human along gently and while the red-head was dressed as a First Mate would be there was something unusual about her. She was not as confident as all of the other soliders and officers who moved swiftly around the base.

They both entered an awaiting military speeder and Tmoxin, with her decoy, would make her way to FleetCom. Commander Temi and only the Sgt. Major knew of the female slave’s existence. As she rode in the back of the speeder with the slave, whose name she only knew as Martina - no last name - she wondered just what Hans was going to think when she showed up at his headquarters with this strange doppelganger. Her mind was spinning now as she couldn’t think of how she was going to talk her way out of this one. Someone she respected, trusted, and well frankly was falling in love with, was going to see that she was tangled up in slave trafficking of all unsavory things. It gave her a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, not at her actions, but of the potential disappointment on the Commodore's face.

Once the pair arrived at headquarters, after showing both credentials (for she had a fake ID for her decoy as well), Tmoxin stowed herself and Martina inside an office and waited for Commodore Vaiden to return.

Well who are you? Ali asked herself silently as she looked over the rims of her sunglasses. She was standing across a busy courtyard, the sun beating down against her leather limp-brimmed hat, leaning against one of the small supply connexes that dotted the Imperial grounds. Her speeder was just around the corner, parked in one of the few spots assigned to the small construct, the repulsors still running quietly. Between the faces of the many Imperial soldiers, otherwise personnel and civilians who all ignored Ali completely, she was able to watch Tmoxin exit her private yacht from where it rested on one of the larger landing pads. "The Sovereign Butterfly Two," Ali muttered, sipping at a fruity smoothie drink she'd purchased from the refreshment shop on the base. "What a silly name. Way to long. Makes me wonder what happened to the first butterfly that fought for freedom. I guess it's kinda cute." Ali smirked to herself and pressed herself away from the building's side as she watched Tmoxin leave the vessel with a companion dressed as her...Yeoman? Ali guessed, narrowing her eyes. She'd never bothered to remember the naval ranks of even the Republic, much less the Empire. Regardless, Ali questioned the other woman's role. Her shoulders were slightly slouched and she kept looking about the place like a scared rat. The woman either had rampant PTSI or she wasn't...whatever rank her uniform reflected.
Well who are you, then? Ali asked herself a second time as the two women made their way toward a sitting speeder. Ali turned to keyed open the door of her own vehicle, a nondescript gray plated speeder with a hard top and proper registration, and sat inside. She closed the door behind her and took the controls, setting her drink down in the center console and pulling away from the conex. Giving Tmoxin plenty of time to pull ahead, Ali came in line behind her some ways down the hard paneled streets of the Imperial compound. Sipping at her drink now and again, Ali made sure to remove her hat in order to appear different-looking to anyone who'd seen her once already.

The cantina was still dead and Orick was running out of time, He was hoping that [member="Anastasia Rade"] was ok, but he didn't expect a call from her at all. Her meeting was just an informal one that she wanted to have with some Imperial or another about her father. He was just being paranoid at the entire thing, she was probably fine and would probably contact him when she was back in Republic space.

He knew that the next patrol would be by shortly and he wouldn't get another free pass for the hyperdrive. He left a small stack of cred chips on the table s he made his way to the docking bay where his ship was parked. He saw the tech standing inside the open cargo hold of his ship and he nodded to the man as he moved to meet him. " How's the ship doing?" ORick asked a bit louder than he needed to. He wanted to make sure that anyone around would be able to hear his question.

" You're all fixed up. We had to replace the entire hose section, it was rotted through." The Man said as his team of men left the ship. Orick had ended up having to pay off the entire team to keep them quiet.

Orick nodded and gave the man's hand a quick shake. " Thanks again, I would have taken out half a sector of space if this this had gone up." His words again were loud and he wasted little tip slapping the control to close the cargo doors. The quicker he was off the small moon the better.

He wouldn't need his hyperspace engines to move from Phlors Regina to Anaxes, so he fired up the engines and rocketed out and away from the moon as fast as he was capable of going. He got about halfway to the jump point and he turned on the ECHO DED-3 system, effectively making the ship a sensor ghost and dropping it off of the station's systems. Anyone that was paying attention would assume that he had made the jump to hyperspace and that he was now gone. He switched the Caecius drive system over to the chemical system, making the heat signature from his engines drop to zero as the supercooled gas replaced the regular engines for propulsion.

He turned the ship toward Anaxes, hoping that he could find a reason to land there without getting into too much trouble. He was thinking of a way to get past the landing security as the planet got closer in his viewport.

Greta was in the reception area of Commodore Hans Vaiden's office. She had been waiting for quite some time now, for her arranged appointment with him. She was told to report on some of the new battle strategies that she had devised for the further cooperation between the Imperial army and the navy. Before arriving to the location of the meeting, she had gone over and over again, about what she would present to the higher-ranking officer, but her enthusiasm was slowly draining, as the wait dragged on and on. She had waited for nearly two hours, but had yet been called to see him.

Her heart rose when the door to his office opened, but quickly sank when a rather hurried officer who she assumed to be the Commodore rushed out of his office with nary a word. He babbled some words to his aide, and he ran out, followed by a rather weird-looking droid.

Darn it all!

She approached his aide and asked if he would be returning anytime soon. The aide simply shrugged and said "Not a clue. He can be gone for ages when he takes off like that." With oodles of time already wasted, she was preparing to leave, when she saw a rather eye-boggling sight.

At first glance, she thought she was seeing double. She recognised the figure of course. It was Commander Tmoxin Temi, an esteemed legend in the military and the Stormtrooper corps. She just didn't know there were two of them. The Temi twins? Puzzling. Her earlier disappointment forgotten, she walked up to the idol, ready to greet and introduce herself. Greta was extra glad that she had put on a freshly pressed set of black officer's uniform today. Standing in front of the commander, she did a crisp salute and said proudly. "Commander Temi, it's an honour to meet you!"

Of course Commodore Vaiden was not thrilled by Tmoxin's actions over purchasing a slave as a decoy, but he was suddenly called away on assignment. After promises to finish the conversation later, he hurriedly left. The Hapan stormtrooper commander sat in his office chair and pondered what to do with the red-haired Marta who sat silently in the corner. The slave-girl was rapidly becoming a burden and Tmoxin began engineering more contemptible actions to get rid of her.

Suddenly a young blonde officer came through the office door of the Commodore. Her black Imperial uniform signified she was associated with the Stormtrooper Command like Tmoxin herself. The Commander appraised her with her with a tilt of her head, her brown eyes searching any obvious clues as to who she was. The female's rosy cheeks, heart-shaped face and trim figure alone would take her far in the male-dominated military structure of Imperial Command, Tmoxin thought. But the proof would be in her actions and conduct obviously. And she appeared to know Tmoxin. Even more promising. And intriguing.

"Officer, I don't believe we've met before," she said, smirking at the young woman's flattery.

That was quite endearing already.

"What is your name and rank and why are you here to see the Commodore?" Well, that question needed to be asked as well. It wasn't often a beautiful officer showed up seeking Hans Vaiden's attention. And if they did, Tmoxin hadn't been around to witness it.

As Tmoxin waited for her reply, she remembered that Hans Vaiden had brought his "subject" here to extract her blood for DNA or something like that... she wasn't quite familiar with the details. But only knew that to obtain this blood sample was of the utmost importance to some experiment he had contracted out to Crynic. Perhaps this young, willing officer wouldn't mind jumping to help oversee the lab work while Tmoxin dealt with disposing of Marta. Once her admirer revealed who she was, Tmoxin would ask her.

Fighting the Imperials would not have gotten Ana anywhere so she went along with the soldiers whom escorted her to the headquarters. There was no tour with milk and cookies like she was hoping for but instead a trip straight to some sterile white room full of lab equipment. After being told to sit on the examination table and that the nurse to be right with her the soldiers left her. A sigh escaped Ana’s lips as she heard the door lock behind her. Honestly it didn’t surprise her as she figured they were not silly enough to allow a Mandalorian run around loose in their facility.

Crossing her legs Ana continued sitting on the table as she surveyed the room as she waited for what would come next. She wasn’t going to be stupid and go through the cabinets as she had a feeling that they were watching her somewhere on camera. One false move and she would be thrown in jail with no hopes of getting any information personal or otherwise. Ana hated waiting especially when she had a feeling it was for impending doom however she had no other option.

After what seemed like forever an older looking brunette dressed in a perfectly pressed Imperial uniform entered the room holding a datapad and sat down in the chair in front of Ana. “I apologize for the wait Miss. Rade. I wasn’t expected any visitors today. I’m Dr. Cesternino, I’ll be taking care of you today.” She smiled before glancing down to the datapad. “It says you’re here for some bloodwork in order to confirm your identity. Is this correct?”

“Yes, I am very interested in learning more about my family. This is where my father, Cedric Rade, would have wanted me. I want to make him proud and come home.” She smiled at the woman as she uncrossed her legs. Ana was half telling the truth about her plan here. Hopefully the good Doctor would buy it for now at least.

“I knew Grand Moff Rade and you do have a striking rebalance to him. It would be something to not only find his long lost daughter but have her back on base with us. Once I prepare the test I’ll be back and we can get started. I promise I wouldn’t be long. Here is something to read while you wait,” the elder woman stated as she pulled out a magazine, Empire weekly, and handed it to Ana. Getting up from the chair she turned to leave Ana once again alone.

Ali sat outside the headquarters building wondering what to do. If she waited for Temi's meeting with whomever to end, she'd have to approach her in the motor pool outside. Too unofficial. Ali needed to appear as if she belonged, because if she didn't, her cover could very well end up being picked apart to tiny pieces. Ali swallowed down the rest of her fruity drink and dropped it into the cup holder, then left the speeder with a playful leather briefcase in one hand. Locking the speeder, Ali tipped her hat back somewhat and crossed the motor pool to the headquarters entrance, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
"Oh my," Ali muttered to herself as she removed her hat. The building was pristine, all hard edges and metal-themes; the precision and passion of the entire Empire seemed to have been soaked up in a rag and used to wash this place. Ali whistled softly as she continued inside, stopping at the reception desk to ask after Tmoxin.
"Howdy miss," Ali said with a smile, slapping her briefcase down on the counter. The receptionist looked up at her sharply, clearly surprised. "Oh, uh, hello, ma'am, what can I help you with?" Ali smiled again, squinting her eyes somewhat as she did so, and opened her bag. Tmoxin and her escort, the not-so-Yeoman, were talking with another uniformed sprite off to the side. Of course, Ali ignored them for the moment, because she "had no idea who Tmoxin was."
"I need help finding someone, miss," Ali said pleasantly, handing the receptionist her fraudulent orders that had her civilian authority transferred to this particular military base. "See, my name is Ginny Sorten and I was recently assigned here, to help run and coordinate the fire and maneuvers operations. I need to speak with Commodore...Vayden, I think his name is." Ali folded her hands together over her briefcase and let the woman inspect her flimsi orders. Flimsy is right, for sure. Ali thought humorously to herself, admiring the irony of the paper's fraudulent nature. The real civilian Ginny Sorten was...somewhere else and Ali's profile had been inserted in her place by one of the crack shots in the Intelligence Ministry.
