Anaxes Assemblage

Greta looked towards the blonde woman as she answered, stating her name and station. Now that she knew the woman's name, she didn't have to refer to her as Goldilocks or Blondie no more. Anastasia Rade.

That name seems to ring a bell in her head. Familiar yet distant. Where had she heard the name before? Try as she might, she could not recall a thing. Assistant to Deputy Moff Diaz she was.

While the doctor was still busy with the woman, she snapped her fingers, summoning one of the stormtroopers at guard near by. "Inform Deputy Moff Diaz that his assistant will be able to leave as soon as she is done with the experiment, no earlier." The trooper saluted the officer, and went off to carry out the task assigned to him.

Anastasia then went on stating the reason she needed to be back as soon as possible. Apparently, the deputy moff needed someone to organise his things for him. Why did she had to be the one to do it? Shouldn't a figure as high up as he have more than one assistant? "Not to worry, Ms. Rade, I've sent word to the moff, he should have word soon. You'll be able to leave as soon as you done with the experiment here."

The young officer then turned her gaze towards the doctor as she removed the hypo-syringe from the woman, carefully placing the filled syringe tube into a sealed vacuum container.

When Orick T'ane awoke, he was bound to a cold, metal table, but despite a grogginess from the stun bolt, would be fairly comfortable and free of pain. Of course he wasn't going anywhere as the bindings were especially designed to keep a torture subject from breaking out, harming an Imperial interrogator or even harming themselves in a bid to escape whatever excruciating pain they were in from drugs, needles, poison and the like.

He would notice that Tmoxin was the only one in the vicinity. There were no stormtroopers or other assistants in the small, clinical room. An IT-3 Interrogator droid stood in the corner but appeared to be disabled.

Noticing he was waking up, the Commander approached and visually inspected his bindings. She then went over to a counter and pulled a syringe out of that square, metal box she had been carrying in the earlier prison enclosure. "You are very lucky to be alive, Gunner Staygo. Or is it, Sinjin Smiley?" she asked. Smirking she said, "Don't answer that. I will find out soon enough."

Walking over to him, her boots echoing in the near-empty room, she positioned herself by his side and gingerly rolled up his sleeve. Once she found a swath of bare skin, she stuck him with the syringe, quite crudely as she wasn't a physician after all.

"Skirtopanol," she said, disposing of the syringe. It made a hollow sound in the waste basket as it landed. "It's a truth serum."

While she waited for the effects to take hold, the Hapan officer pulled a metal chair up besides the smuggler and she began with two questions to see if the drug was in his blood system already.

"First of all, what is your real name? And why exactly are you here?"

[member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Greta Kohler"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

Orick blinked a few times as consciousness returned to him. He was cold and as he looked around he could see why. He was in a Sterile looking room filled with only Tmoxin and a deactivated droid. He tried to stand and found that his arms and legs were strapped tightly to the metal table he was laying on. She stood in one corner of the room and watched him trying to move. She stepped forward and inspected his bonds before she went to the small metal box. He didn't know what was in the box but he knew it wouldn't be good. As she stuck him in the arm with the needle she began asking about his aliases

As he lay there he could feel the drug in his arm, it was cold and he knew that it was only a matter of time before he would have to fight the drug in his system. He knew what it would do to him and he was trained on how to deal with it. It would make him tell the truth, but he could still decide what truths to tell.

He frowned as she sat next to him and began her interrogation. " Commander, the drugs aren't affecting me yet. Had you used the droid it might have hit a vein, which would have made this a much faster process for you. I also notice the lack of a second officer, which makes me think that you're not following the rules, afraid I might expose your secrets under duress?" He took a deep breath and tried to word his next response carefully. "I'll give you this one for free though, since we are such good friends."

"You already know my real name and I really am here for the girl. Her name is Anastasia Rade and she's here to find out about her father or some such nonsense. None of those things were a lie." He needed to convince her quickly before it became harder to omit things. "This makes me not trust you, commander. How can we work together if I don't trust you. I mean this isn't the first time I've woken up tied to a bed with a beautiful woman in the room with me, however this is the first time I've still had my clothes on." He grinned slightly, he had no intention of letting her get the best of him.

He knew how this would end, she wasn't following doctrine and that meant that what little time he had left was borrowed. " I'm not telling you anything else, you might as well just put that blaster bolt in my head now. We can save each other all of this wasted time." He smiled and looked down at the pistol on her belt.

Ana could only hope that this test would be completed soon so that she could get out of here. If they tried to contact this Deputy Moff they would find that he didn't exist. Ana would than really be in trouble if that happened. She wouldn't be able to worm her way out of this one. Thank you, he would be happy to know that I'm alright. He does worry about me so." Ana smiled before she turned to watch the doctor. She had hopes that the test was over now. That was all I needed Miss. Rade. If we do need anything more from you I'll make sure to contact you."

Taking the container she turned to leave the room. Her job was over but it was possible the commander had another need for this woman still. It really wasn't of her concern as the woman had gotten what she needed.

"So, can I go?" Ana questioned after the doctor left the room. She still felt that she could get out of here without a fight. She didn't exactly have to fight someone to get out of a stick situation. Swinging her legs a little she smiled as she awaited an answer.

The woman known as Anastasia reassured her that her commanding officer would be delighted to hear that she was alright. They must be close, she thought. Officers that high up didn't usually care that much for just a mere assistant. Giving her the woman the benefit of the doubt, she trusted with she said, but only just that little bit. Greta still had the nagging feeling within her, that things with this Anastasia was not as simple as it looked.

And with that, the doctor was done carrying out the procedures as she packed up her equipment, and got ready to leave, case in hand. Anastasia then questioned if she could leave. Greta was about to reply, when the soldier she had sent to deliver the message appeared at the door, asking for her attention. "Ma'am, I have something urgent to report" before turning to glance at the other woman, then hastily adding in "In private, Ma'am."

Greta then replied, "Roger that, get two troopers in here. Guard this woman here until she gets clearance to leave." The trooper went out briefly, before returning with two others. The two new troopers stood by the door as the the Lieutenant and the other trooper left the room. "Ma'am, I've tried to contact Deputy Moff Diaz in Balmorra, but no one know who he is. There is no Deputy Moff stationed on Balmorra."

Greta's eyes and ears instantly turned alive as she processed the information. Activating the emergency communications channel to Commander Temi, she left her an urgent voice message "Commander, this is Lieutenant Kohler here. We have bad news. The woman known as Anastasia's identity didn't check out. The commanding officer she gave does not exist. I believe we may have a spy." It seems like the nagging feeling she had been feeling all this while wasn't for nothing. This Anastasia, if that was really her name, was no common girl. She was most likely a spy. But for whom she wondered.

She knew that Commander Temi was busy with the interrogation of the prisoner, but desperate situations called for desperate measures.

She had to be informed.

Tmoxin listened quietly, and at the smuggler’s bawdy joke about waking up tied to a table, her lip curled up in a smile. She opened her mouth to speak but there was a sudden knock on the door.

“Second officer,” muttered Tmoxin as she answered the door. He was right about policy, but it wasn’t as if many of the Commander’s peers felt the need to follow procedure to a T, especially when interrogation was involved. Perhaps Hans Vaiden would but he was not here.

At the door was a stormtrooper who relayed the news from Lieutenant Kohler. The Commander was impressed by the young officer keeping her apprised of the situation with the blood test. Again, the girl had such moxie!

When he was done, the Hapan officer said, “Release the blonde test subject after she has been searched. Of course, have the Lieutenant escort her until she is back to whatever spaceport she came from.” She turned to go but over her shoulder added loud enough for the smuggler to hear: “And then have Lieutenant Kohler come here. She can be the second officer that has been requested.”

Tmoxin came back into the room and sat back down on the metal chair next to T’ane.

“What would you do in my position?” she asked him. “I haven’t harmed you. I’ve only given you truth serum. Why do you not have a reason to trust me?”

She smiled at him, knowing the truth serum would hopefully be in full effect by now unless he had some sort of biological anomaly that would null or lessen its properties. “I’m just doing my job, of course. When my organization tells me there is one, possibly two, spies in my midst… well, would you ignore that, Mr. T’ane?”

[member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Greta Kohler"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

Orick watches her intently as she stood there a few feet from him. She looked at him like he was prey and while her face was dispassionate, her eyes were lethal. He saw the slight smile on her face from his joke, and he wondered what the reply would have been, but she had been interrupted. She left the room for just a short period of time, and it gave him the few moments to try to figure out how to mask his answers and keep things he didn't want to answer from coming up.

He saw her turn and before the door closed she asked for the second officer to be sent in, that confused him. On one hand if she was going to do a full and on the level interrogation, he was royally kriffed. on the other, this officer could be involved with her whole smuggling operation, so it could all be a ruse, in which case he was royally kriffed. She moved back towards the chair and she down, she look as casual as most people do when they sit down for supper with the family. He listened to her question and frowned, he didn't want to answer any more questions and while he could still omit some things, the drug flowed freely through his system and he was going to have a hard time stopping himself from saying something incriminating.

" Well I thought the rational thing was going to happen when you first entered the small cell earlier. We have a history that I have proved discreet about, and yet here I am, strapped to a table and drugged." He sighed heavily and stopped even trying to lift his head to look at her. " Is that reason enough for me not to trust you? Or do you need me to go into details about your reputation as the 'Blood Monarch' ". Even as he said it she could hear the mocking tone he used with referring to her title. " I know what you've done, I looked it up. you're rather ruthless when you need to be. So I harbor no illusions of getting out of here alive, I'm regretting not getting to my contact sooner to inform them of your little station on Lok." the last part fell out before he could stop it.

His training only took him so far, there were some things that even training couldn't protect against, and the powerful drugs that the imperials were prone to use were one of the things that there was no real defense for. " Do you expect me to applaud you for doing your job, and seeing about the possibility of spies in your midst? You never had a single Republic spy in this planet, at least none that I'm aware of. I don't spy for the Republic, I smuggle and occasionally sell information, that's all. Ana's just a girl out to find some stupid truth that won't help her one bit." He managed to shut his mouth before he could say any more. The fact that he had said as much as he did made his situation worse, it was too late to worry about it, he wasn't much against the drugs, but he was going to try to tell he as many true things as he could, it just wasn't going to be what she wanted to hear

[member="Tmoxin Temi"] | [member="Greta Kohler"] | [member="Anastasia Rade"]

Tmoxin listened carefully to his admission of who the smuggler was and why he was on Annaxes. She could do without the veiled insults, but for the most part, nothing that he said sounded truly alarming. In fact, the Commander felt like his story had checked out. She was increasingly more annoyed at the Commodore who seemed to have engineered the whole ruse to gain the blonde test subject. Something was certainly fishy there but she would deal with her superior officer later.

Tmoxin did key on one detail of his story. She rose again and pulled out a small recording device from one of the nearby cabinets. After she sat back down, balanced the small electronic box on her knee and turned it on.

“Who is your contact, Mr. T’ane? The one to which you would have sold the Lok information to?”

[member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Anastasia Rade"] [member="Greta Kohler"]

Orick watched her stand up and move to one of the cabinets, he was surprised to see that she came back with a recording device. Her question didn't surprise him at all, he couldn't help from rambling as he spoke and he knew that he had dropped that he had a contact that he worked with. He Sighed and lay there, his lips pressed together as he tried to not say anything again.

"The forest has purple leaves. A hyperdrive can explode from a multitude of things that affect it. My ship is completely empty." He was trying to think of everything he could think of that was a true statement that he could say that wasn't the answer to her question. He knew that the longer it went the more likely he would be able to resist the question. He was at the point that he was almost biting his tongue to keep from answering, but he couldn't fight the drugs in his system, the imperials did seem to know their drugs.

" I never met the contact, it was a dead drop system. I would call a number and leave a message for my aunt on Corellia, who died during the craziness of the rapture thing, funny enough. They would then leave me a message from an encrypted system and give me a location to go to. It was always a public place and i never actually saw or spoke to anyone. The only thing I did know is that it's Republic Intelligence." He frowned at the fact that he had said as much but she knew what she was doing. "The person I did meet is a ghost, his name was fake and he doesn't exist at all. I've looked him up, just like I did with you, and you did with me. Even if I did scrub my data clean of things that could be too interesting, like my past with the Republic military and my commando training."

When her question wasn't answered Ana found herself to be a little jittery. She had been hoping to be peaceful for once but there was no way she was going to be going back in a cell again. Ana had on some pointy high heels and knew how to use them if she had to along with the force. Wrinkling her nose slightly she watched with great interest as Greta left to talk to another solider about something. Ana had a bad feeling it was about her but she was doing to best to stay composed and in character.

"Is there something wrong? Is the sample not enough?" She questioned looking at the two troopers guarding her. Ana felt herself a little lucky that both of them were male. Ana could probably persuade them to let her go if it came to that but she honestly rather not. A frown crossed her face as she got no response from either of them nor even a look in her direction. She had to give the Empire credit, they had done a good job brain washing them. "Please?" She stated looking at them again hoping that second time was the charm.

Sighing she looked to her feet which were still swinging back and forth as she sat on the table. Ana had no idea the Orick was the prisoner they had found. If she knew that he was here, Ana would currently be fighting tooth and nail to rescue him. As it was however Ana had no idea what they had.

Tmoxin impatiently tapped her hand on her other knee while she listened to the smuggler give his confession as it were. Once she was convinced he was telling her the truth, she said:

"If you give me the rest of the information, the numbers you called, physical descriptions of anyone related to the Republic... I will let you go. Of course, with an armed escort off of Annaxes."

On some level Tmoxin thought releasing him was a bad idea. At some point during his capture that day she considered using the mind control serum on him as she did her stormtroopers on Lok. But he had completed his job with loyalty and at the end of the day, appeared to be looking for work from the highest bidder with no real allegiance to any one organization.

It almost reminded her of herself. The Commander knew that her days with the One Sith were numbered and once she either left or was forced out, she may need someone like the smuggler to transport items or drum up information for her. That is if he wasn't too gun-shy after interrogating him.

"This may seem like an odd question, given your... circumstances," she said, motioning to the table. "But are you looking for work?" she asked him. "We've had our differences but at the end of the day a job is a job."

[member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Anastasia Rade"] [member="Greta Kohler"]

Orick laughed loudly as she finished her offer, did she forget that she had given a truth drug. " Why are you even asking me? I can't lie to you right now, and you know this drug makes me chatty, so I can't not tell you this. You offer me a deal that I'm not even able to resist, perhaps you'd like to shake on it." He jerked his right wrist a bit, flexing his hand, a smug look on his face. " I'm sorry, I appear to be strapped to this table and unable to shake your hand, well I'm sure your word is good enough. The number is easy enough, Tela Wingham is the name you use this number 4453333968343-35. But it's voice tracked, so any attempt to get information will be a waste, they only respond if I leave a message. The contact I met was the most boring looking humans I have ever seen. there's no bother to tell you anymore, he was obviously wearing a disguise, it's a waste of your time and mine."

He shook his head and laughed again. " You have to know that as soon a I leave I'll contact them and let them know I'm compromised, so anything you get from this is a wash."

He wanted to be mad at himself for the fact that he couldn't stop himself from spewing all of these secrets, he was more mad at himself for getting himself in this situation. He should have been more careful, should have had a better prepared for this. Hell he should have known she was going to be here. He sighed and shook his head again.

Once again he laughed, this time the sound echoed off of the walls, "Did you really just offer me a job while I'm still strapped to a table and under the influence of interrogation drugs. Honestly if you let me loose right now, I'd punch you in the face. You betray my trust, give me drugs to reveal all of my secrets and now you're asking me to keep your secrets?" She had a bigger set on her that most of the guys that he knew in his time with the Republic. " How would you answer if our situations were reversed? Could you trust someone that did this to you?"

[member="Tmoxin Temi"] | [member="Anastasia Rade"] | [member="Greta Kohler"]

Tmoxin’s eyes widened at T’ane’s outburst. Given that he was still under the effects of the truth serum, she would have to take it at face value when he said, he would "punch her" if she released him. She sighed and turned off the recorder. The Commander stood up from her chair and put the recorder back on the counter, then dug back into the metal box and pulled out a different syringe.

“This is the antidote to the truth serum,” she said. “It will reverse the effects… it’s slow but will eventually work. And you can go back to lying if you need to," she said in an amused voice.

The Hapan officer came back over to him and stuck him in the arm, quite clumsily again. Tossing the needle aside, she picked up the metal chair and moved it much, much closer to him this time so that her voice would be hovering near his ear.

What he wouldn’t know was that Tmoxin was lying about the antidote and she had pulled out the syringe of IX Serum, the drug which she had used before successfully in mind control experiments on Lok. Given his threat of violence – whether it was a natural response to being a captive or whether he truly felt a deep animosity towards her – was such that she couldn’t take any changes that he may come back for revenge somehow. This particular strain of X1 Serum was modified, so instead of the three to twenty days it took to work, it worked immediately and Tmoxin was ready to imprint a code word onto T’ane.

She looked at him and said, “Black Moth.” He would be fully aware of this and would probably wonder why she was saying such inexplicable things. For a second time, what he didn’t know was that if she uttered the word Black Moth again to him, he would be powerless to resist obeying her command. This particular strain of X1-Serum had been shown to instill a deep sense of loyalty at the code word and to whom had imprinted the code word on the subject. They would not know why but they would be powerless to resist the orders associated with whoever had uttered the words Black Moth.

“Thank you for the information. I am going to let you go now,” Tmoxin said, rising and calling in the stormtroopers. As they filed through the door to unstrap him and escort him out and to his ship, she said, “But I will be contacting you. Just be aware of that.” She kept the details purposefully vague. The troopers with blasters trained on the smuggler, began to unstrap him and help him up off of the table. Tmoxin merely smirked.

She knew for a fact that she would see him again.

[member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Greta Kohler"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

Orick watched as she put the recorder down and went back to the box, she said it was the antidote, but he couldn't help but wonder if this was the needle that killed him. He wasn't sure that trust was something that they could ever build again and the fact that she didn't knee jerk her reaction to his threat kind of bothered him. she was cold and calculating in a way that chilled him to the bones and he didn't like the needle one bit.

He closed his eyes as the needle entered his arm, he could feel the cool flow of the liquid as it entered his system. He didn't feel any different, but the room seemed to get a bit far away for a few seconds, like he was pulled back into a tunnel. He thought he heard her droning on about something, probably another chance to say yes to her offer of work, but he couldn't find the strength to reply. It could have been a few seconds or it could have been hours, but the room faded back in and he glanced around, she was closer than he remembered her being, so close he could feel her breath on his ear and neck.

He heard her loud and clear this time about her releasing him and he almost didn't believe it, especially with the stormtroopers filing into the room with weapons drawn; but good to her word they released him. "You think this makes us even a little bit square, you keeping your word to let me go? The girl? you cost me a job and my contact, you're a great partner." He heard her say she would contact him again and he laughed, " Like hell," was all he said as the white armored guards pushed him from the room.

the trip back to the spaceport was as exciting as it was when he was going the opposite way, with the exception that he wasn't handcuffed. They dropped him at the ramp to his ship and he was greeted by all of the stuff on the ship piled into the cargo bay and thoroughly rummaged through. He wasn't even in the mood to argue, he just wanted to get off this planet and away from the Imperials again. He wasn't any worse for wear but he had this lingering tickle in the back of his mind, everything , for as dangerous as it was, seemed a little too easy. He had a bad feeling that the next time he met the commander, he would end up on the losing side again. He made a mental note to keep tabs on her, if for no other reason than to avoid her until he felt that tickle disappear.

After the call from the commander, a very displeased Greta went back into the room and caught the blonde girl, Anastasia Rade trying to fish information out of the troopers she had sent to guard her. Fortunately, her wiles did not seem to work on them, and they gave her nothing. If they had given out any information, she wouldn't have been so desperate, trying to figure out what was going on.

Greta was puzzled by the order of the commander to release the girl despite her background information not checking out. That was not standard protocol, and the Commander seemed to be veering of it.

Clearing her throat, to get back the attention of the room, she then looked at Anastasia indignantly. Despite her background information not checking out, the commander had cleared her to leave. She was not pleased about it one bit. "You are free to go, It seems like you have friends in high places. However, you will be escorted back to the spaceport in which you arrived in, by myself and several other Stormtroopers. I'd advice you not to do anything foolish."

Despite not liking how the situation was developing one bit, she proceeded on to follow the orders that had been relayed to her, and she opened the door, with her arms pointing towards the door. For now, she'd go according to what orders said.
