Level 66, finally stopped building my mansion long enough to go catch a dinosaur.
Tamed like.. 4 Parasaurs, every single time as soon as I did they got jumped and died. Once because I killed it trying to save it. Seriously, I'd scout the area, make sure it was clear, tame, nothing attacks while it's unconscious, then suddenly a pack of raptors, or a carno or a sabertooth. On one memorable occasion as soon as it was tamed it hopped up and attacked a bronto before I could change it's aggression settings. I killed all the things except the bronto (noped right out of there thank you), but I still didn't have a damned dinosaur.
Who was going to be Dracos buddy when I was offline? Or carry the stupid amounts of stone and wood I need to eventually graduate from mansion to castle?
Anywho, got annoyed with that, decided to climb a mountain to see if I could find some crystals so we could make our fabricator, turrets etc. No crystals, so many birds. A bird genocide went down. Me and my pike, teaching them what was what.
Then I saw it. A stegosaurus. Pretty low leveled as these things go, I had three tranq arrows left. I could probably punch it out if necessary right? Sure. Why not. No way that could end badly. Three arrows were apparently enough however! It took a damned long time to walk him back home, but we have our first dino, and with how boss he is at gathering berries, I can make about a billion more tranq arrows..
Let the dinosaur hoarding begin...
