PRE GULAG PLAGUE

Corellia was the capital planet of the Corellian system, which included Selonia, Drall, Tralus, and Talus. Collectively, the planets of the system were known as the Five Brothers. As the largest planet and the closest to Corell, Corellia was often called the "Eldest Brother" or the "Eldest." Historians believed the Celestials assembled the system artificially, the worlds brought from other parts ofthe galaxy for unknown reasons. Some believed that these Celestials populated Corellia with Humans from Coruscant.

THE GULAG PLAGUE

The Gulag Plague heavily devastated Corellia. However, as a die-herd stubborn race, Corellians joined together as they often did during times of dire need. The system was closed off to the rest of the 'Verse, and Corellians did their best to simply survive. The end result was a united system throughout the Five Brothers as they recuperated throughout the 400 years of Darkness.

At the end of those four centuries, Ayden Cater would lead the system into once again rejoining the rest of the Universe through negotiations with the Private Military Contractor, Omega Pyre. This company would grow to such extremes to eventually become the Omega Protectorate with Ayden Cater as Exarch.

Omega Protectorate

Under the Omega Protectorate, Corellia was largely left to its own devices. As it was the site of FLEETCOM HQ, CoreSec had some liaisons with Protectorate officers to coordinate system security. But primarily the population was left to their own devices.

A significant portion of the Protectorate ships was CEC made, so the orbital ring was never not busy. As a result, there was never a shortage of jobs to do and unemployment virtually nonexistent. There was always something for someone to do if they wanted the credits. Ayden wanted to ensure that, contrary to the popular stereotype, that no one had to turn to smuggling or a life of crime to make ends meet.

The overwatch of the Omega Protectorate came to an end at the start of the Netherworld Crisis. Billions had disappeared, and in the wake the One Sith came in to subjugate her under their control. The final result ended with the self-destruction protocols of the CEC shipyard ring after the evacuation of civilians and their employees. However, this did not hinder the damage Corellia suffered under the subsequent rainfall of debris.

Netherworld | Akala's Wrath

The Netherworld event saw a mass disappearance of trillions across the 'verse. Nothing would compare, however, to the destruction that was wrought upon Corellia in the aftermath. In Akala's desperation to be reunited with her lover, her selfish experiment resulted in the sundering of planets, releasing the energy she had collected to be the conduit of energy on the planet.

The results were that the netherworld rifts sundered the two worlds, separating sections of Corellia and Lashtu only to mash them together. The cities crumbled under the weight of the burst of the Force, incinerating in a violent wave of light, resulting in the millions of deaths as the worlds crumbled apart.

Corellian Netherworld Rift

A rift is a portal between the Netherworld and the Galaxy. In the wake of Akala's manipulation to fuse and meld different planetary planes, two rifts remain open - one on Csilla and one on Corellia. However, only the latter is capable of allowing any to move back and forth. This fractures go both ways, so you can enter the Netherworld from the Galaxy, and enter the Galaxy from the Netherworld.

The Corellian Netherworld rift leads to the Field of Blades. From there, one is able to journey to Serenity's Redoubt, Behelian Canyon, and the River of the Dead & The Paths of Choices.

While the majority of the Rifts are closed, the Rift of War on Corellia would remain open. It seemed other energies in the world were powering them, and the way forward into the Netherworld would remain open. Here, along with Csilla, are the only two known locations where those who dare brave the Netherworld can find access to the Field of Blades and beyond.

The field of battle, a canvas for some, a home to others. What they meant to these spirits is irrelevant. Their legacies are what brought them to this place. The desert sands and cracked, rocky surface insufferably hot, the ground littered with legendary blades and weapons of Chaos' own creation. The air is thick with the smell of blood and embers dance across the sky. The heat of the battle fuels this place, its gears and cogs constantly turning churning new blades for new battles. A Dark Side miasma hangs over head compelling all but the strongest of will to fight for an eternity. Spirits of the deceased roam this place in a constant search for battle. Powerful Sith Lords and Dark Jedi renowned for their fighting ability call this plane of Chaos home.

This Field of Blades has no beginning and no end. Battles rage for eternity. It is their fate to fight and die, to kill and be killed.

For as above, so below.

After math and Reconstruction of Corellia

In the wake of the Netherworld Event, Corellia is a broken amalgam of what once was Corellia and the former Yuuzhan Vong world of Lashtu. The broken halves tore against each other, the result producing a cracked remnant and a large asteroid belt, called Soccoro, Olys Corellisi for 'Scortched Earth'.The resulting surveys showed small pockets of biological life was still active in Corellia's remains, providing a foundation for terraforming.

Alric Kuhn, then CEO of Titan Industries, negotiated with the Wrath of the Dark Lord for control over the Corellian Sector. The agreement was made that it would be left under the purview of Titan Industries and no Yuuzhan Vong Technology would be brought over to it.

What that, Arceneau Trade Company along with Titan Industries have done a wealth of work and fundraising with Brightstar Industries to rebuild Corellia and bring it back to a fragment of its former glory. New terraforming technologies have been utilized to bring together slowly the broken halves. Former Employees of Titan, ( the Corellian Natives), came to work with Arceneau Trade in the wake of Alric Kuhn's original disappearance. Negotiations with former owner Tzavong Kraal have transfered former Titan properties under Arceneau Trade, with their former Corellian employees now employees into the Queen of Trade's company.

| Socorro's Belt |

Socorro’s Belt is the leftover asteroid remnants of the broken halves of Corellia and Lashtu after its near destruction by Akala. As this is an amalgam asteroid belt of not only Corellia, but Lashtu, There are several remnants of Lashtu’s Massiive Shipyards here, some known to even have rivaled Mon Calamari shipyards. Here, there yet may be a few remnants of the long lost Lashtan space faring technology.

Native Corellians see Socorro’s Belt as a sacred graveyard for those who were killed during the breaking of Corellia. It has become apilgrimage site for those who come to pay homage to their dead, deliver gifts, and a few taking a bit of material to make personal tokens of remembrance for themselves during a private ceremony called the Doaba ol'val tru ( Peace and Farewell in a Funeral) . Some Corellians, who called themselves the Guardians, took to patrolling Socorro’s Belt to prevent pirates from stealing the capsules. These Corellians were held in rather high regard among the exiles.

MINERALS AND ORES

In the aftermath of Corellia's breaking, rescue crews in the deepest fissures discovered deposits of an odd red metal. Chemical tests confirmed that the substance was a variant of havod, with minor differences that defied analysis. Speculation as to the source of those differences ran the gamut from ancient Celestial intervention to the heat and stress of planet-breaking to the leftover effects of Akala's Nethermancy.

Whatever the reason, once refined the metal was stronger than usual havod alloy, which does not occur in nature. The new metal was dubbed Corellian bloodsteel. It has become a symbol of Corellians' lost homeworld and a desirable choice for weapons or starships owned by Corellians -- but it has also attracted the wrong kind of attention to Corellia.

There are also other ore resources on Socoro’s Astroid belt that are now accessible in the wake of Corellia’s near destruction. These include gold, iridium, silver, osmium, palladium, platinum, rhenium, rhodium, ruthenium and tungsten during initial survey's; iron, cobalt, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, aluminium, and titanium for construction; water and oxygen in geological survys after. Among subsequent research has found hydrogen, ammonia, and oxygen for potential use as rocket propellant. Also found were small deposits of Diamonds, Gold, Agrocite, Doonium, Ostrine, Rubindum, and Ethromite.

NATURAL RESOURCES MINING

Arceneau Trade has commited to not mining the resources of Socorro's Belt. As it is, mining here is not recommended, as the native Corellians see Socorro’s Belt as a sacred graveyard for those who were killed during the breaking of Corellia. It has become a pilgrimage site for those who come to pay homage to their dead, with a few taking a bit of material to make personal tokens of remembrance for themselves.

Many Corellian survivors and exiles performed a private ceremony called the Doaba ol'val tru, and would shoot capsules filled with gifts for their friends and family. Some Corellians, who called themselves the Guardians, took to patrolling Socorro’s Belt to prevent pirates from stealing the capsules. These Corellians were held in rather high regard among the exiles.

Any corporate action to mine Socorro’s belt may well be seen as an aggressive attack on not only the Corellians, but as a desecration to the final resting place of billions of Corellians. This, however, does not halt the foolishly brave few who attempt to smuggle mining activities from under the Corellians or ATC’s radar.

THE GOLD BEACHES OF CORELLIA

The Gold Beaches of Corellia were considered to be one of the Wonders of the Galaxy. Eons of exposure to the breaking waves of the surf and wind manipulated the sand crystals into a soft almost flour like powder. This made the sand exhibit a highly reflective quality about them created by the gold mica-like particles of the shells of a vast number of aquatic arthropod species as well as microscopic organisms, primarily the douradea species of algae, mixed in with the pearlescent particulate of offshore coral reefs. The combination of these particles had initially given the Gold beaches their namesake as they resembled a gold powder.

The rarest of the golden beaches were originally the black gold beaches of the equatorial regions. The sand had a massive load of ancient volcanic silica. These were considered to be some of the most ancient exposed sands of the planet from a time long before the power of wind, and the elements smoothed ancient mountains and volcanoes down to the former soft slopes, mesas, and hills of the pre-Netherworld geology.

Preliminary reports on the condition of Corellia still being assessed. Currently our Hegemonic Search and Rescue teams are still out in the field rescuing any potential survivors. Current grid efforts are at the Western point of Coronet, focusing efforts in the area that used to be between Coronet and Tyrena. Many refugees have been brought to Talus, with Perma Crete mobile manufactured homes for emergency domicile.

Geological fissures are still erupting, and reports have come in that the ocean is literally boiling. Tectonic plate activity is off the charts, and there is some holovideo accounts that there are now dark spires literally bursting out from the sea and along the Black Gold Beaches. Truth be told, I do no believe there will be much left or any more survivors within this hostile environment. I will continue to update you as reports come in.

Three months have passed since the 'Event', and our current geological surveys are on their way to survey the Section Xesh Aurek Nine. This location was colloquially known as the "Gold Beaches," once considered to be one of the wonders of the Galaxy.

Our objective is to properly scout and map the terrain to ascertain Section Xesh Aurek Nine's potential in terraforming. The successful construction of an Eden Project Biodome at New Coronet has given us hope that with the aid of the Ithorian's and our research in Yuuzhan Vong terraforming, new advances in increasing the sphere of our efforts may reach beyond the Biodome.

This is Ta Vei, Geologist for PharmaTech under the purview of The Eden Project. I am sending this message to disclose a most peculiar anomaly. We have expected that the meld of the two different planets along with the near post-cataclysmic aftermath would potentially have a significant impact on the gravitational force of Corellia.

Our survey has confirmed that this is the case.

Where the Gold Beaches of Corellia once lay, there is a vast network of dunes. Some of which is still smoldering from the tectonic plate movement. It is still very unstable, but our sensors have confirmed enormous distortions.

With the TYPE IV atmosphere and the harsh conditions, it is not advisable for our team to scan for more readings. E.V.E. drones have been dispatched, but the environment is still too hostile to get proper readings.

Will update as necessary.

This is Ta Vei, Geologist for PharmaTech under the purview of The Eden Project. Our field researchers have informed us that the geographical landscape has seemed to have settled down.

The temperatures have somewhat stabilized, but we are still unsure of the status of Section Xesh Aurek Nine. Such planetary wide disturbance is bound to have some ill effects. While I still retain hope, my fellow research Doctor Vie Mo suggests that the possibility of finding any surviving fauna or flora is low.

We will be sending preliminary environmental scouting droids to gather samples. Perhaps we can learn more about the gravitational anomalies.

Oh, can't blame him. Few people got what it takes...
Point taken. What do you want?
I will be sticking around a bit, monitor his progress and I will need resources.
This again?
The last 'again' got you the InterGalactic Banking Clan, I am not sure you got a reason to complain.
Fine.
Good, I also know you were planning on visiting Corellia. I am planning on catching up with an old... friend there, so I will go in your stead.

It was about a decade since they last saw each other.

But if there was one thing that Ovmar learned from his old age, it was to cherish the old memories. The ancient ones. The ones that threatened to fade away if you didn't pay attention to it every once in a while. To this day, after women like Andra and Anaya and others in his life, there was one name that sometimes popped up in his head.

Just like that.

He'd be doing this or that, and then there she was.

Saffron.

Fresh and fun. That deep red smile tugging at her lips, while taking care of him in the aftermath. Just spending the days watching chick flicks and... relaxing. There wasn't a repeat of that after that- he wanted to get in touch, but there was always something keeping him away.

"You know... that looks very complicated." A voice suddenly popped up a few inches away from the woman's head, as she was reading the reports coming in from Corellia.

There was a man standing there, leaning against the table. He still looked the same, still those blue eyes, still that mischief being displayed.

He hadn't been there a moment ago, had he?

PHARMATECH - BIODOME
New Coronet

The low tenor of a particular voice elicited a slight pause of Saffron's hand. She had been quietly reviewing the Arceneau Trade Codex entries on Corellia. There was still much to be done, but reviewing the updates allowed the young Companion to keep up to date.

Well, then again, she was more than just a Companion nowadays.

As Danger took a step back in the daily run of the conglomerate, Saffron, Aeri and Alisha'ven took one forward. Each was now in charge of oversight in various sectors. Saffron's own had her focus within Silver Sanctum Territory and outlying sectors in the Wild and Unknown Regions. Noire took stock within Alliance territory, with Alisha'ven aiding Tanieth near the Mandalorian Clans.

The curtains of her lids rose over hazel eyes, and the barest glimmer of a growing smile began to curve upon her lips.

Quietly, the blonde crown of her head rose, and Saffron let the pale copper of her eyes latch upon those of one Lord Ovmar. The expression that radiated from her face said that his appearance was no surprise.

More like a desired outcome of hope had come to fruition.

"Only as complicated as one makes it..." she began, the honeyed drawl of her voice pouring over the older gentleman with gentle affection.

"Lord Ovmar..." she began, her smile broadening. With that subtle, charming aura unique to Saffron, the woman gracefully drifted over to him. Once she stood before him, she let her gaze drift over him, as if matching his features to that of memory. Finally, she gently rose on tippy toes. A small press of her lips would touch his bristled cheek.

"It is wonderful to see you."

A contract with Vanir Technologies and their survey department have allowed us to expand our search. We have some preliminary results on the drones. Some holo recording feed, but it is still too staticky and distorted to really make much of anything. Also, we have our first gravitational readings from the origin point. The numbers... they do not make any sense. Certainly nothing on Corellia before. My only assumption is that the fracture along with perhaps this planet Lashtu is the root cause.

The steam vents are too thick for a good visual, but we are still doing our best. Collection samples are next. Perhaps, we can find something to explain the anomalies. For now, it is clear that Section Xesh Aurek Nine is beyond our original estimates in stability for terraforming.

[member="Saffron"]

The back of his hand brushed her cheek gently, but no more than that. In a life filled with bad decisions and worse women… Saffron had always been a refreshing person to be around. So charming, warm and ready to help, always a smile on hand and words of comfort to share.

“You do not seem all that surprised though.” Ovmar responded finally, eternal grin tugging at his mouth. “The surprise is half the fun, you know.”

The joke aside it did make Jared wonder.

Usually they were more surprised, astonished even, few knew he was still around here and there.

______

There was a portion of Corellia that wasn't yet terraformed. It was a place of sudden tectonic shifts, volcanic activity and with little to no stabilized areas. But where most saw sunken cost, those like them saw opportunity.

The One Sith was dying, this much was clear. So it was time for investments to start arriving.

In cooperation with ATC a new plan was formulated.

Around the unstable continent an orbital network of shipyards, factories, docking bays and such would be constructed. A staging ground for the terraform efforts to restore this portion of the world to a habitable state.

ATC would supply the raw material necessary, the products that would make it green and ecological, the corellian workers who trusted the name Arceneau. ICE and Saiba provided the expertise necessary to construct something like this - through the brands the conglomerate owned and operated some of the largest shipyards in the Galaxy, and through Saiba they had terraformed Dromund Kaas to a liveable state.

Saffron's hand lightly came to set over Jared's own. There she cupped it, giving it a slight caress as the Companion gently beamed up at the man.

"Surprise? No." she began to explain, her voice a sweet melody meant to give the ambiance of tranquility.

"More of a knowin' really." the young woman was touched by the Force, but only enough to provide a modicum of enhanced senses, empathy, and of course, far-sight in the form of cartomancy.

"You had The Wheel, Lord Ovmar." she explained plainly, detailing a card that she had selected for him a while back. The Wheel implied luck, both good and bad. The beginning and ending of things, and random chance.

There had been no death in his future. At least, in the ordinary sense of the word.

"A beginning and ending of things. Luck, both good and bad..." her smile broadened.

"Random chance." a hand came to rest against his chest, feeling the thrumming beat of his heart.

"You can say I had hope."

Our E.V.E. exploration droids have brought in some rather startling data. I have run it through various simulations but it appears that the anomaly only occurs on the Black Gold Beaches. We are in the process of charting how wide the gravitational anomaly is.

Samples from E.V.E. have provided a first look at what remains. There are a few sand samples that give us hope. There is a large amount of volcanic silica along with remnants of aquatic arthropod species as well as microscopic organisms, primarily the douradea species of algae, mixed in with the pearlescent particulate of the surviving offshore coral reefs.

We will try to gain a water sample from the sea, as it appears to have in some extent, weathered the vast amount of tectonic shifts. Theories include that perhaps there may have been an underwater sea...

His other hand found hers on his chest.

Now Ovmar could sense it - the connection she shared with the Force had grown stronger since the last time they were together.

Much stronger than before. It amused him slightly that even with all his affinity with the Force and his abilities to stay unseen and unnoticed... that it was as easily as seeing him coming through prophecy that would give him away.

"You never told anyone." As far as he knew, but considering none of his old associates had been hunting for him... it was a fair assumption to make.

"Thank you, my dear."

The old lord of the Fringe released her hand then, gently pushing her back towards the table and the information being displayed there.

"So what are you doing here, uncomplicate the situation for me maybe?" Those blues soaked up the holographs projecting information.

A new update had just popped up while they were reminiscing.

__________________________
It was important to keep the trust of the Corellian people.

They had been through much this past decade and the last thing Iron Crown wished was for them to think they were being abused once again. But this time by a corporate entity, instead of a psuedo-religious one in the form of the Sith. So the orbital network would be staffed by those same Corellians with most of the profit being reinvested back into the economy of the Corellian Sector.

Sure, it was the morally right thing to do.

But ICE/Saiba understood one thing and understood it well. People worked harder when they felt like they were working for the betterment of their own future. They had seen that in the Dac system and the shipyards there, they had pumped funds back into the economy and as a result the productivity had increased exponentially.

Hopefully that same experiment would bear fruit here as well.
