Well, it seemed people were being impudent about their bids over a single item. Which didn't lend any consideration to merely let it go. If they were so desperate for it for themselves then the Rendili woman didn't particularly want to let them have it. Still, part of her wondered if she needed to even lift a finger. After all, the auctioneer could clearly determine for themselves whether the bidders competing for the items on the block had any chance of paying their debt. Very few individuals could handle paying for a starship themselves, let alone a frigate. And how many people actually could realistically claim an organization would back a personal purchase if it cost them so much, to give so much of their private resources. The
head of a group like the Techno Union or Banking Clan or KDY, who she all had met, could certainly back such a personal expense, but could just a normal member or employee? She doubted it, she expected such would find themselves out in the cold when they were discovered being so frivolous with their resources. They likely wouldn't pay for their personal purchase either so the auctioneer could risk losing their profit if they allowed someone to make outrageous claims who didn't have a background to support it.
Still, at least one person seemed to have actual pull with a company given the latest bid. Yet, Camellia wondered if they really could keep up without risking overstepping their profit margins. She knew what was a reasonable limit for herself. The cost of a cruiser wasn't easily scoffed at. However, there was still a bit to go before then, and she intended to shut down the bid once and for all.
