The Padawan sat quietly, sipping her tea as she always did, watching the comings and goings of others from the patio of a restaurant that perhaps one day, she could retire from public life once again and purchase. Maybe. But then again, public life seems to call her out from hiding and bring her right into the thick of things. Trouble always found her, without her even being the cause of it outside of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Bakura was recent proof of that.
It was rather odd that powerful individuals or those in power always seemed to cross her path. Some of those people were terrifying, including the man that killed her husband and tarnished their reputations. But that was over five years ago. Such an increment of time might be small for some, but for Kay it was almost a lifetime. Constantly moving about from planet to planet with no work or goal in life, no family or friends can make time crawl to an almost standstill.
As she sipped her tea once more, she thought she caught a glimpse of a familiar face. Some other passerbys were getting in the way, so Kay got to her feet and looked. Almost instantly she spotted who can only be her smuggler friend and partner in trouble. But was it really him? He looked a bit older and with some fine lines appearing on his face. Could they be laugh lines? The Padawan waved one of her hands frantically to catch his attention as she called out to him, "HAWK!!"
