Kay tried to protest a bit as Hawk pulled her through the crowds, past crumpled buildings where he had said people were already dying. "But-but we could try and--"
It was too late. He had already taken her towards the school. Kay had rarely used her Force powers since Shaw died. She didn't want to attract unwanted attention. But now she had to. She was born and raised to be a healer. Diplomacy was just something to fall back on and do in the meantime. And it was still rather strange, being in the presence of another Jedi, helping him with his mission and everything. But she had to keep reminding herself that it was Hawk.
The building looked like it was on the verge of collapsing, a house of cards just waiting to fall. Carefully she entered inside and spotted a few children hiding under their desks, the classroom wall facing the hallway had already broken apart. Good thing it wasn't a retaining wall. Kay beckoned them to her, quietly, believing that the vibrations caused by a single yell could cause the building to collapse further. After the children left the room and school safely, the real work began.
