With her shoulder next to the wall of the corridor, Roona kept lining up the arachnids in her sights. Each time her finger pulled the trigger, a spider corpse rolled over onto the floor. But, it wasn’t always easy. The cramped quarters of the hallway didn’t help, nor did the speed of the eight-legged creatures. Roona felt fortunate that she could call upon her Ysannan roots this day. The next shot fired was touched by her subtle use of the force, altering the path of her projectile quickly and carefully to hit a spider that had slipped past the line of fire put down by her comrades.

Roona’s head turned towards her shoulder ever slightly, and she nodded to Colonel Calderon as he stepped away to reload. Along with Clark, she continued to fire to keep the enemy at bay. But it seemed that spiders were not the only hostiles to venture into the corridors of Nickel One. Red blaster bolts were fired towards them, and the source quickly became apparent. The presence of Sith troopers would be felt in the hallway, and they were keen to press forward.

The third infantry men and the Verpine had joined the fray as well.

Then, she became aware that Valkren was pushing towards the enemy. Roona’s weapon remained poised to fire past the Colonel’s shoulder, but her finger was forced to move away from the trigger as the form of a Sith trooper pummeled into Valkren’s armored form.

And before she could reposition herself, a red bolt hit the wall next to her helmet, leaving a charred mark in its place. Roona cursed and ducked down, but took the opportunity to quickly reload her weapon. Taking to a knee, she watched as Colonel Calderon attempted to push his Sith opponent away. If she could get a clean shot, she’d take it…

Aura-one’s Perspective:

“Uhh…sir?” Aura-one keyed his comlink as he back-pedalled away from the advancing Sith troopers. Looking down at the grate through which Mister Rarr and Mister Endo had escaped, he’d found that his superior had blocked it off from him. Even as he spoke, the operative had already deduced what was happening.

Mister Rarr had decided that the team getting away was more important than his survival. A sudden burst of rage filled him as he switched his “Reaper” to full automatic and began sending dozens of blaster bolts down the hallway toward his enemy.
Or, more accurately, one of his enemies.

Unlike many in his line of work, he hadn’t come from a career in the military and as such he’d never seen this level of combat before. But he’d thought he’d proven himself to his superiors. He’d survived the slaughter-fest that had occurred on Denon when Mister Rarr had engineered the takeover of Obsidian Star. That had been a three-way firefight between The Outfit, Rarr and that damned unnerving clown he’d brought with him, and his men.

Just coming away without taking a bolt to the face, or worse, he’d thought he shown that he was useful. Or perhaps that was why Mister
Rarr was removing him now, maybe he’d shown that he was too useful. At this point, it really didn’t matter. The rest of his life, he knew, now measured in only the span of seconds.

Soon he would be dead.

There was no way that he could hold this corridor on his own. In a few more shots, his weapon would be fully depleted and he wouldn’t have enough time to reload. So he resigned himself to his fate, settling into the numb calmness of a man with no more options.

And then his HUD cut out. It was sudden and complete. One second it was transmitted telemetry and then it wasn’t. In his ear, Aura-one started to hear a whine. The whine then turned into a hum, which seemed to be increasing in intensity.

“You’ve got to be fething kidding!” He growled as he tore the device from his face and threw it down the hall at his enemy. It was one thing to leave him here to die, but to activate the device’s self-destruct while it was still on his face?

That was low.

So caught up was the operative in these events that he’d completely missed the fact that someone had been cutting a hole in the ceiling just in front of him. When [member="Audren Sykes"], plunged down-riding the piece of ceiling he’d cut out two things happened. Aura-one’s personal HUD device flew into the Sith and exploded with a power he hadn’t thought the device had, and two he very nearly fouled his pants.

As the operative stood, gaping slack-jawed, the elfin Jedi proceeded to carve a swath through the oncoming Sith. When asked, very politely the operative might add, to try not to hit the Jedi Aura-one simply nodded slowly.

It took a few more breaths before he realized that he wasn’t even shooting.

Quickly-far quicker than he’d have thought-his training kicked in once more and he leveled his weapon at the enemy. It was difficult to aim around the Jedi, so the operative took his time and lined up his shots. Switching the pistol to semi-automatic, he fired one round at a time as he advanced behind the Jedi.

While the vast majority of the kills made were the Jedi’s, Aura-one was gratified to be able to take out another three or so troopers on his own.

Then, with the lull that this newcomer had created, the operative listened to the man’s next statement. “Uhh…yes, sir!” He said, his face set with determination. He took a few moments to reload his weapon and then took off after the elfin Jedi, weapon in hand and a new sense of purpose in his heart. It seemed he’d been recruited.

Beltran Rarr’s perspective:

“Keep moving,” The Lorrdian ordered the two men ahead of him. Through the walls, he could hear the muffled sounds of fighting. As they’d crawled, the ventilation shaft had led them several meters deeper into the rock before settling on a parallel course with the corridor.
Brisk air flooded through the system as they travelled. The life support systems were still engaged, that was good. He didn’t know the Sith’s objective here, but if it were him he would have made taking control of the colony’s life support systems first priority.

After all, your enemy can’t fight you if they can’t breathe.

Through his HUD device, he heard the voice of Aura-two-the operative leading the three-man group.

“Where’s Aura-one?” The man asked.

“He didn’t make it.” Beltran replied tersely. “We need to keep moving.”

“Don’t you get it?” This was the voice of Debbis Endo, sounding aloud in the shaft since he hadn’t a com device to transmit his words. “We left him to die.”

“Be quiet.” Beltran ordered. The Lorrdian was in no mood to deal with this non-sense. Of course he’d left Aura-one to die. Any idiot could have seen there was no way all four of them were going to get away. He’d left the best shot in the unit-after Beltran, of course-behind in order to give them all the best chance at making it to the hangar.

Endo, apparently deciding to heed Beltran’s words, made no more noise and after a moment of silence Aura-two began to move again.

Once they were back on Denon, Beltran would ensure that Aura-two met with some-completely plausible-accident. He didn’t need things like team loyalty, or morality, gumming up his operations.

They travelled along the shaft for what felt like several minutes, but given all the adrenaline pumping through his veins he figured it had barely been three. The shaft began to angle back toward the corridor and he could hear the sounds of fighting growing clearer as they neared another grate.

“Sir,” Said Aura-two. “I think this is the last grate that adjoins the corridor. After this I think we’re basically crawling all the way down into the main vent system. Good chance we’ll end up being cut to pieces by a fan or something.”

“Alright.” Beltran responded. He had hoped to come out well behind the Antarian Rangers’ defensive line, but doing so right in the middle of their advance was better than climbing out into a chamber of just Sith. They would have to manage. “Flatten yourselves against the side of the shaft. I will go first.”

Even from behind, and with Endo in the middle, Beltran could read the surprise in Aura-two’s body language. No, Beltran thought as he crawled over each man in succession, he wasn’t playing the hero. Only he had the answer to the challenge call used by the third infantry.

If Aura-two just bumbled down into the fire fight, it was likely that they’d all end up dead from Ranger fire.

Upon reaching the grate, Beltran holstered his “Reaper” and pulled out a small handheld multi-tool- similar to what Aura-two had used to undo the grate that led them into this shaft in the first place. He took care to be as quiet as possible, as he didn’t need some trigger happy trooper noticing the grate moving and firing on them without verifying his target first.

Once the grate had been loosened, he turned on his rear so the his feet was facing it and kicked out-sending the piece of metal flying down to the ground in front of them. The Lorrdian disguised his voice, giving it a lighter more innocent tone as he shouted out the challenge phrase. He hadn’t been gone from Kashyyyk more than a couple of days, so he doubted it had been changed.

He then stuck his feet through the hole and jumped down to the ground below. A dozen weapon barrels came to face him as he got to his feet. The walls were lined with both Verpine defenders and Antarian Rangers. With his hands raised, Beltran repeated the challenge call so that everyone in the immediate vicinity could hear.

He then flattened himself against the corridor wall and proceeded to help Aura-two lower Debbis Endo down onto the ground before following himself. They had, apparently, come out about ten meters from the front line. The soldiers lining the wall were the relief forces for those who were currently engaging the Sith.

As he looked around, he noticed several bodies lying on the ground. No Rangers, as they would have been pulled to the back of the line as soon as they’d fallen. But several of the spider creatures and a number of Sith troopers lay ruined on the deck. Beltran knew he’d been lucky, had they arrived a few moments earlier he figured that this part of the corridor would have still been under Sith control.

Once on the ground, Endo and Aura-two took to his example and flattened themselves against the wall as well. Aura-two still had his weapon drawn, but it seemed for the moment that none of the Verpine or Rangers were planning on challenging that.

Beltran continued his scanning of the area, looking for whoever was in charge. He’d need a situation report before he risked taking Endo through any of the passageways that led back to the hangar. It was at that moment that a figure rounded the corner, backing off the line-ostensibly so that he could reload.

Beltran saw the insignia before he saw the man. Colonel. Feth. Of all corridors on all the asteroid colonies in all the insect infested star systems in the galaxy and he had to pop up in the one occupied by [member="Valkren Calderon"].

Dex took cover. At 50 meters he didn't want to risk shrapnel. It was a well aimed throw from his partner, fanatical spiders screeching everywhere and falling down as they were blown apart.

He got a wave of garbage and muck blasting him. "Like uncle Tuk’s home cooking." He rumbled at the mess. One of the spiders moved, "Hold on." Grenade Barrel rotated, Braced, sights aimed, breathing in and... "Cover." Dex rumbled loudly. The spider picking itself up to find a grenade launched towards its torso, its eyes went wide about to say some famous last words.

BOOM. That one wasn’t pretty.

Another fine spray of garbage. Letting the smoke clear first. “Who is gonna wash the armor after this.” One of the Houks rumbled a grumble, getting a couple of looks, he'd just volunteered. The hallway was clear of any movement Dex could see, just leaving bodies in their wake. Another successful day in the rangers.

“Hey Caphey. Think we won the bet?” [member="Tyrell Caphey"].

Valkren's HUD flashed red with warning signs as a second Sith trooper brought the stock of his weapon down onto the colonel's shoulder from behind, the plating on his upper torso absorbed most of the blow, but he still knew it was there. Taking his focus away from the first hostile that attacked him to turn on the second. The soldier had realized his mistake at striking the colonel, and was now fumbling with his weapon to attack the colonel again. In one fluid motion, Valkren withdrew and extended a vibro-blade from a latch on his right leg, igniting the weapon and bringing it up towards the enemy soldier. The blade cut deep through his chest plate, causing the black armored troop to go limp and fall back into the corridor and back into the firefight.

He'd glance down at the blade he held in his left hand, finding a brief moment of peace to admire the weapon after using it for the first time. His time admiring the object that had just saved his life was cut short, as the enemy that had originally attacked him had regrouped and launched himself at the colonel, shoving him back into the hallway and over the body he had just slain. He'd turn just in time to come witness to the same trooper exiting the stalls into the hallway, blaster leveled at Valkren's face in preparation to destroy the colonel. For an instant, Valkren believed that this was his last firefight.

This is how he'd be remembered, falling to the hands of the Sith at Roche.

The thought was erased immediately as a round found it's way expertly to the side of the Sith trooper's helmet, the other side exploding out before the body crumpled to the pile on the floor under its own weight.

Shocked at the sudden situation, Valkren looked to his savior while Lieutenant Harris and Specialist Lowder went to his rescue, covering one another as they helped the colonel up and to the back of the line.

The source of the shot came from Osmari, their teams sharpshooter. At one point in this fight, he had worry in the back of his mind for her, yet now he was looking up at her like she was some sort of guardian angel. Clambering to his feet, he'd get behind the line of combat as more rangers from the third infantry pushed back against the Sith soldiers.

"Pretending to be a Jedi I see!" Konrad yelled out in reference to the vibro blade he was gripping tightly, handing him a spare assault ripper from one of their fallen comrades. Valkren collapsed the blade and reattached it to his side, taking up the rifle and checking it's ammunition before offering the Lieutenant a nod.

"Echo is one hell of a shot." Lowder piped up, slapping the colonel on the shoulder plate. Valkren could practically hear the smiles behind the two operators' visors.

She sure is..

"Thought we almost lost you there for a second."

Valkren only looked to the lieutenant again, giving another nod before speaking up to the pair. "The third's going to need help cleaning those Sith up. Give them some leadership, I just need a breather."

The pair heard his orders, and went through with them, returning to the front and leaving Valkren to his thoughts for the moment. He knew he'd have to move back up soon. Simply seeing a colonel insignia would surely boost the morale at the front line, and with these rangers in the fight being infantry and not marines they'd need all the support to finish this fight they could.

"Echo, regroup. Going to need your help making a final push." He'd walk further back, sending his transmission to Roona as he moved. His eyes would travel from behind the visor to the vermin and rangers that were preparing to move forward for a last push. He stopped in place, cocking a brow as his gaze rested at a group of what seemed to be civilians in the midst of the fighting. None were familiar to him, so they obviously were not Silver Jedi or ranger personnel.

Although, one had something about him that Valkren just couldn't put his finger on. Was it someone from Kashyyyk? Perhaps a contractor from their time building housing units for ranger families?

No..Too familiar, Rarr?

BOOM! The last of the spiders got a taste of the Dex's weapon of choice from before the battle, the weapon he had announced his ''love'' too. The two of them couldn't be a better match, to be frank!

Corporal Caphey scanned the area ahead as everything went quiet again and the smoke cleared.

''I think you got him, big guy!'' he exclaimed to Dex and gave him a thumbs up. He guessed that the meaning of overkill was not known to the three Houk's. ''Yeah... I'm looking forward to those drinks!''

He glanced back at the squad after checking that everything was clear up ahead, sensors not picking up any more movement or sound of more incoming forces as of now.

''Clear up ahead! Casuality and ammunition report?'' Everyone in the squad seemed to be alright as they regrouped in on him awaiting orders.

Knowing his orders from the colonel before he continued. ''We move on and try to find where the hell they came from. Secondary objective is to make sure there ain't any more of those critters down here, alright? Let's move out!''

And with that the ''dumpster diving'' squad moved out, reassembling their staggered column formation from before, walking through the mess of spider parts and goey they had made...

Roona watched as the struggle unfolded between the Colonel and the Sith soldiers. However, she was momentarily forced to divert her attention as an enemy advanced swiftly towards her position. A slug fired by Clark grazed the side of the trooper’s helmet, causing only a brief stumble on the part of the enemy. Throwing his body forward at the two, he attempted to bring a large knife down upon Clark. Roona’s hand went down to reach for her shatter gun. But Clark was able to discharge his weapon into the trooper’s chest, just in time, too.

With the immediate threat neutralized, she returned her attention to the Colonel’s position. Green eyes went wide behind her visor as Valkren was knocked to the ground. The assailant drew his weapon and pointed it right at the Colonel’s helmet, ready to end the man right then and there.

It happened in the space of a heartbeat, but Roona felt as if time began to slow.

The marksman drew in a deep breath and held it. Lining up the trooper in her sights, she knew that she would need to call heavily upon her Ysannan skills. An imaginary path drawn in her mind, she would manipulate the slug’s trajectory to curve slightly and hit the side of his head. She only hoped that she was able to pull her trigger before the enemy had a chance.

And so, she did.

Releasing her breath, she watched as the trooper’s body fell to the floor. Harris and Lowder were quick to get the Colonel out of harm’s way, and Roona turned back to the fight. Her expression was cold; her job of dealing death was done without emotion. But as she continued to fire, her finger hit the trigger just a little harder than before.

When the Colonel’s voice came over her comm link, she began to fall back to his position behind the line of fire. It wasn’t until that moment did she allow herself to acknowledge that he’d almost been lost. This thought wasn’t something she wanted to dwell on – it was frightening. Coming to stand next to him, she realized just how tightly she’d been gritting her teeth and relaxed her jaw. A woman of few words, she made no reply to the Colonel, but she did raise her visor for a moment to fix him in a relieved glance.

Her gaze was then drawn towards a rather curious group, there was something about them that seemed to say they didn’t belong here in the midst of battle… but she might have been wrong.

While the One Sith gathered the data they needed. Paareth was as usual the distraction. Centax's apprentice knew his role, to be the thing that stood in the way of the One Sith's leadership, to stop others reaching them. It gave him purpose and more importantly chance to kill. Which he relished. The more he killed the stronger he became, the more he tested himself in battle and hunted, the greater the reward from his goddess the scorekeeper. Simple Trandoshan logic.Although trying to keep their distance, for a fighter they were not as fast as you'd expect and so Gi Gregain caught up to them eventually.

“Break ofsssss” he hissed a growl as the four fighters broke at the arrival of [member="Gi Gregain"], who seemed to be trying to come in behind them. Veering off in different directions. Being the distraction their corvette needed to gather the information required meant engaging anything headed their way. Their weapons powered up as the enemy fighter engaged them, Paareth himself dived low and put himself out of the fight, getting some distance as the others buzzed around her. Looking for the right time to come back up across [member="Gi Gregain"] and let her know he was there, firing at her underside. Others would come across her on their own vectors and another try to get behind. It was a furball now.

The Stardestroyer however sat exactly where it was, content to let its fightercraft do the talking. There was no need for Centax to commit himself here, that wasn’t the plan. So he sat a great distance from the battle and watched.

She felt it before it was coming, the ships going around as the sensation within the force had her breaking away from the rea. They were still and concealed within a ship made to not be seen or felt. Still something had happened and she would have to make a mental note of that as well as report it to the engineers while seeing the ships. Excitement from the other pilots within the combat meld came, they were all focused to the point they could barely stop vibrating with the controls. Gi was moving as she spoke to herself. 'Engage.' The stealthx broke to the side, sp[inning into a barrel roll and the thrusters activated for a brief moment flaring before burning invisible.

Her eyes follow what they had going on and the she looked out of the canopy at the ships coming to them, a splash across the shielding as the blastscreen darkened to protect them and Gi was picking up speed to bank around. Her wingmate controlled by the droid veering off in a different direction to draw them in when she activated the booster and lurched forward with the speed to loop and swing back around an asteroid. The stealthx's were not wasting shots, firing blindly and giving away the position of a stealth ship wouldn't do any good before she narrowed her gaze and let loose a small blast. Sending the impression to two fo the others where to fire and watched as a fighter barrel rolled into the second blast after dodging her own.

The disguised Lorrdian met [member="Valkren Calderon"]’s eyes, and in that instant he knew that he’d miscalculated. While the slight cosmetic modifications he’d made to his facial features would have likely been enough to fool most Silver Jedi personnel. But the Colonel knew him, probably about as well as anyone did these days. As he took in the other man’s body language, he could see the man’s sense of suspicion rising.

Calderon wasn’t sure yet, otherwise he would have called Beltran out immediately. But a few more seconds and he would figure it out.
Moving forward, Beltran decided to give the Ranger’s commander something else to think about. “Colonel!” He called out, his voice and mannerisms different in a dozen or more imperceptible ways from the mercenary and soldier Valkren knew. “I’m with Aura Red Close Protection Services,” He lied. “I have a VIP here and we’re in need of passage to the hangar deck. Can you tell me if the way it clear?”

As he spoke, Beltran allowed his gaze to move behind Valkren, where it came to the green eyes of [member="Roona Osmari"]. In keeping with his disguise, the now red-haired, blue-eyed and slightly bearded Lorrdian gave the Sergeant a half-shy smile. He hoped that such a gesture would be enough of departure from Beltran Rarr’s usual affect that it would keep him safely ensconced in his assumed identity.

With his imidiate danger out of the way Tana turned his fighter around to help the others, sensing miss hotel girl in danger and under fire, the swarms of Sith attacks being to much to handle, even for a Jedi. "Roger that hotelier, I think I have a plan, I am going to position my fighter on one of the asteroids, hidden from sight, I want you to fly past that asteroid and try to disperse the enemy fighters around the object, then I'll blast the from my position and give you a break". "Though until back up arrives I suggest that we stick to the planetary rings, the huge amount of enemy fighters wont do them any good in this tight place", such a fact even more true since regular humans where did not have the reaction time of Jedi, Tana could not be surprised if a third of the enemy fighter strength would be lost to debris strikes.

Still they needed to make sure an actual Sith did not get the drop on them, even a small amount of those force sensitive pilots could change the tide of the battle, all Tana could do was hope the stealth ships made it to their position or took care of one of the enemy carrier ships. He had yet to know that currently the Jedi knight and her squadron where already in combat with an opposing star destroyer.

Getting the enemy interceptor pilots to avoid the asteroids was risky business, with Tana being on an asteroid, laying in wait. Varindar herself was making very erratic maneuvers in an attempt to close in on Tana but, at the same time, she was exposing herself to near-misses and potentially dangerous collision courses. And a few explosions on her behind, caused by either mobility kills caused by stray asteroids messing up with the enemy engines or just plain old collisions, forcing more of the survivors to disperse among the asteroid field. Especially since the few enemy pilots brave enough to fire at her at point-blank range caused near-misses tearing bits off some asteroids, hitting various systems, such as viewports, weapons and sometimes vernier thrusters as well. So she had to do a looping around an asteroid to fire at one of those pesky interceptors and then swiftly retreat back in the asteroids and forming up to Tana. Meanwhile, the others were being dispersed after a few untimely deaths thanks to the hazards of the asteroid field that prevented tight formations from even flying in this dangerous area. Each hostile blip disappearing only gave way to limited comfort, especially with her particle shields being drained and her ray shields being only slowly recharging.

Paareth might have caught sight of one ship, a blip or sensor glitch but he hadn’t seen two of them, and the second caught a wingman by surprise nailing him square in the back, almost taking him out there and then. In fact the AA fighters were badly outclassed fighting stealth fighters, they were getting the worst of it well and true. He could feel his alchemized veins bulging, he could feel the anger swelling with him,the very sith heritage in his blood demanding that he even the odds. Rage was only so useful, it could only take you so far. A trandoshan’s hyperage states went beyond the redmist which could pull you forward to smash, rip and rend your opponents, it instead put you in the zone. Where there was only action, no reaction, demanding attention and giving no quarter.

The Trandoshan couldn’t see his target. Even as one of his wingmen was blown apart. It made no difference to the Sith Acolyte. Keth had instructed Centax, and Centax had instructed Paareth. That conquering rage was the first Sith emotion and awakening in any acolyte of worth. “Weak’ssssss” The trandoshan hissed infuriated at how easily they were picked apart. He used it. Feeding on the rage. Lining himself up where he thought an enemy fighter would be, and bringing his vector again across her to turn and offer his back for an easy strike. Reaching out in the force to find them, he put himself into a zero-g version of the immelmann, letting his prey get behind him. “Come on’sssssss” then he slammed on his reverse thrust and span his fighter around, a half roll/half loop firing at where he thought she was. The thrust was already slowing him, so they’d have a free shot, but it was soon pushing him right at them.

Thrusters on full. “Weakness’ssss” he said loathingly again feeling them about to flinch rather than face their enemy, continuing to fire directly at where he felt they'd be. He had learned well and learn quickly to hate any sign of it, intending to fire straight through them…. More to dead to bring before the scorekeeper.

A flick of the Sephi's blade separated most of the blood and gore from the metal, and he sheathed it. It would have to be cleaned later, but the Force-imbued blade was razor sharp...simply wiping it on his pants leg was not much of an option. As he walked, his eyes cast around, looking for a very specific item. Finally he found what he was seeking: frag grenades. He bent over to pick them up, hooking them to his utility belt then pulling the blaster pistol from the body as well. Blades were well and good, but they could only do so much at a distance.

The Jedi hadn't walked away from the firefight unscathed. He'd heard of others who were able to do so, but it very rarely happened to him. In this particular case he'd taken two glancing hits to the legs and a ricochet to the arm. The hidden chain links had absorbed much of the energy and the thermal gel had taken some of the impact, leaving the injuries much more minor than they otherwise would have been. Behind him, he could sense the man's determination grow and could hear him begin to follow.

Not much further down the hall they came to a right-angle turn. Sharp, not at all graduated. There Audren stopped, sending his senses down the next area. As expected, guards had been posted, four of them. Beyond them, the door was closed and other soldiers were gathering. The guards were spread out and alert, as befitted a battlezone. That was unfortunate: it would have been far simpler to deal with them had it been otherwise. He'd heard of Jedi being able to freeze people at will, to prevent them from moving or even making a sound. To date, he hadn't been able to figure out how to do that universally. Stopping signals from traveling along a particular nerve could make that person collapse...if they were human, if the nerve was in the same place as other humans, and if the interference didn't flat out kill them. There was no such thing as a 'baseline human', and when non-humans came into play the difficulty increased exponentially.

However, he wasn't above cheating.

With the same threads of Force power used to sense, he knocked the guards' heads against the walls. Even with the helmets they wore the impact scrambled things up quite nicely, allowing the Master to turn and walk down the hallway unopposed. No panicked comm calls to compatriots for backup, no alerting blasterfire, and no deaths. A mental sweep of the hangar on the other side of the door indicated that the situation would not be quite so easy though. He could sense soldiers debarking from two ships, joining a third and larger group. There was the sense of unknown beings, logic followed that these were the spider-things they'd encountered earlier. Even better, there were two Sith, and they sensed the probe. The only good thing was that this was the only passage into the asteroid from this hangar.

"Soldiers and spiders, and two Sith. The goal here is simple: close the external blast doors so more can't get in and stop those who are already here. If you want to go back and join with friendly forces, do so. Let them know the situation here. If you want to fight here, stay hidden until five seconds after the shooting starts."

Audren wouldn't obligate the man to stay, this was far more than he had expected the two of them to encounter. There were options for him if he did though. The doorway was a good choke point to hold the soldiers, and Verpine defenders would eventually make their way here. Or there was a good chance of cover inside. The delay would hopefully take some of the pressure off the man.

The Sephi stood before the door with eyes closed for three seconds, allowing his emotions to steady and events to come to a point. Curiously, it was the grenades and blaster that were held: offensive weapons. His eyes and the door opened in the same instant, and he blurred into motion. First forward through the door, then off to the right to avoid the wall of blasterfire centered on the opening. The two grenades were thrown simultaneously, the lightest threads of Force power tweaking them to where he wanted them to go. To keep their attention, the blaster he carried spat bolts at the two Sith. As expected, they batted the plasma away, but completely missed the grenades as a result.

The explosives went off simultaneously. Rather than blowing clumps of soldiers into the air in bloody pieces however, they detonated at the drop ships. One shredded an engine, throwing the whole thing around to skid along the surface and mow down many of the very soldiers it had dropped off. The other was fortunate enough to carome into the open troop bay of the other transport. While the damage done wasn't nearly as spectacular, the enclosed walls helped focus it. Everyone still inside was killed, including the door gunner, and power was simply cut to the forward half. Of course the blaster's power pack ran out about the same time...four seconds into the skirmish.

Taking the drop ships out first had been a tactical decision rather than a spur-of-the-moment one. Not only could those ships deliver more soldiers personally, their departure would allow other transports to arrive. On top of that, the heavier weapons they carried would have chewed through cover and decimated initial defenders - it was what they were designed for. And of course there was the chance that taking them out would have taken out some of the soldiers, which had worked. There was the possibility of the reactor of one or both of the vessels overloading, which would have vaporized the hangar and everyone in it at a minimum. Had he used thermal detonators that would have been more likely; anti-personnel frag grenades mitigated the risk. Just as he had planned and foreseen.

Now he just had two Sith and their soldiers to contend with. The empty blaster was dropped as he skidded behind some crates, and out came the blades.

[SIZE=10.5pt]Tana lay in wait like a ninja, another thing he seemed to be doing of late, patients being a tool that one could use to extreme effect, often made him wonder why Sith where so dismissive of it. Seemed odd since they were all for power and anything to get the edge over others, guess actually earning something properly through just means was just not an option for them. For the time being all was quiet, his ships radar constantly indicating enemy signatures being terminated, 'Asyt is sure doing one hell of a job, seems flying just like swimming comes naturally to her'.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10.5pt]Suddenly the hotelier's ship came rocketing over the asteroid he was resting on, the quick decisive message over her com line being all he needed to start blasting away, the waning number of Sith fighters being child's play, but with surprise on his side Tana would be able to decimate them. Powering up the ships engines the small nimble fighter raced after the remaining enemies, his craft most likely coming up on their radars, but too little too late, volleys of green laser fire remaining upon those still managing to tail Asyt. Explosions echoing through the debris field, in but a few seconds the overwhelming force of Sith fighters being culled to a very manageable number, easy for the Two Jedi to pick off[/SIZE]

The shields flared, splashing with blue-white energy that went over it allowing the canopy to darken as she moved quickly. Rolling to the side and firing off an ion tag towards the ship. She saw it connect with one of the ships. These one were being pulled up in the database and they were older one sith ships made for assaulting Dac and Manaan.... Someting specialized when she saw it and Gi pushed the throttle full forward to swing around as the tag continued to bleep. The missile launcher fired off a pair of nano missiles that were set to go after the tracker and with an ion burst designed to disable the shields just before the point of impact.

Then she could almost feel it... there was anger from the sith while the stealthx's were moving around quickly. The others in the battlemeld were coming in when she saw the shields flare on her slaved fighter. Once they were hit they lit up alerting to where it was and she could see the shield drop on the sensors before one of the engines took a hit causing it to limp. It fired off several of the ion tags towards the sith fighters to mark them for missiles before the astromech droid with her was sending it off towards the distance to lure the others out and away to let them come back behind it. Gi fired off an energy bomb watching it head towards the engines with the twin balls of energy.
