Brain tails and fox tails (Saryana)

Another street, another planet. Once again, I found myself roaming through yet another entertainment district, a pouch of credits jingling at my side. Wonderful life being a street rat. No job to be late too. No one to tell me what to do, and the entire world before me. Now time to look for a little f- "HEY, THIEF! GET OVER HERE!" Shelter. That's right, I need shelter from the crazy man waving a knife in the air as he chases me. Perhaps its worth mentioning that pouch of jingling credits, wasn't mine... well it was at the moment, but not the moment before that.

In a moment my legs popped into their second joints and... I was off. That's the amazing thing about being zorren. Stronger then humans and a hell of a lot faster. As I dashed through the crowds, I of course kept my main focus forward but my pursuer was never far from my mind as well. The reason for this was simple. I had to wait for him to loo away, at least for a moment. Wait for it... wait for it... A rather rude teenager pushed him back as he was shoved into. NOW! My legs juked me into the nearest building and a small roll later, I accidentally tripped one man and bumped lightly into the legs of a young togrutan. Looking up, I just couldn't help myself. I flashed her a smile from the ground. "Hey, how you doin?"

Saryana blushed as she stared down at the boy smiling up at her. "H-hi," she stuttered back. She was wearing her dancer's uniform as she was just getting done with her shift at the cantina the boy was now laying on the ground in. She looked away, trying to hide the blush on her face. Being in her stupid dancer's uniform was embarrassing enough, having a boy laying on the ground where the view was a bit 'better' according to some people was even more so. She wanted to turn around and run, but she was to embarrassed to move. [member="William Seraven"]

It took me a moment to figure out why she was turning so red (almost as much for me to realize that she was in fact turning red), but once it clicked I quickly rolled to my feet. "Sorry about that." I turned to the man I tripped. He looked rather angry, like he was about to punch me. "And that." I tossed him a couple of credits. Deciding not to address my earlier mistake with the young lady, I asked a different question that was on my mind. "Now... where am I?"

"You're in a cantina," Saryana replied quietly, embarrassed at the fact that she worked there. "I'm just finishing up my shift." She looked back at the guy now that he was standing and smiled a bit. He seemed nice enough, not like all the other cantina patrons who she had the misfortune of dealing with on a daily basis. She groaned internally when she thought about the usual men that came through. She dreaded walking home after each shift. Being dressed as a dancer tended to give people the wrong idea. My eyes narrowed as she explained not just the place(I could live with that), and her occupation(not so much). "And what drove you to this?" Without even thinking, I took my jacket off and wrapped it around her. It wasn't that I liked her anymore than a stranger, but my parents did raise me with a shred of decency. "By the way, thanks for not freaking out about the kid who just tumbled through the door."

"It wasn't my choice... I was taken from my family eight years ago and trained to be the perfect dancer. They want to send me to a hutt soon. I don't want to go, but it I don't find a better option I'll have too," she replied bitterly, accepting the jacket and tugging it tighter around her small form. "Thanks... It's a little cold in here," she thanked him, blushing a bit again. He was definitely kind, she wondered how old he was. [member="William Seraven"]

I felt my tail lash out behind me. This wasn't right, hell she looked younger than I was, only a bit so BUT STILL! "Well, there's always the option to run. Its actually not that bad a life once you get used to it. Good for cardio and there's nothing like those wonderful moments on the streets, when everything isn't trying to catch or kill you."

"It might not be the best job, but it puts food on the table and a roof over my head. I'm not gonna do it forever..." she tried to sound angry as she defended herself against his gentle criticism, but she just sounded sad and forced. She sighed and looked around."I need to get home.. You can walk with me if you want," She told him, pausing for a minute before adding, "My name is Saryana by the way." She exited the cantina, looking over her shoulder to see if he was following. I shook my head as I heard her words. "Whats a motionless home other than a fancy prison?" I started to move her out of the bar, keeping my golden eyes out for anyone who might think she was going anywhere other than home. "If I were you, i'd be leaving sooner rather than later. And the name's William Seraven."

Saryana nodded and led him down the street to her apartment building. She led him inside, pausing to unlock the door to her home. The apartment was a mess with empty dished and clothes strewn everywhere. "S-sorry about the mess. I don't get much time to clean..." She explained as the entered. She hoped William wouldn't think she was a slob or something. [member="William Seraven"]

I couldn't help but laugh as she led me in and apologized. In truth, my tail was wagging from the view of the place. "Are you kidding me? I've spent so many nights sleeping by a dumpster, or in a bar, that this looks like a high class mansion." Ok, maybe not that far, but that's because I actually had been in a mansion recently, not that she needed to know that.

Saryana blushed and shrugged off his jacket. She handed it back to him with a faint blush on her face. "I'm going to go change," she explained before running off to her room. She returned a few moments later wearing a pair of simple black pants and a dark blue shirt. She had a silver belt on as well, but her feet remained bare. She didn't like shoes and only wore them when she absolutely had too. She was still blushing a bit, but not as badly as she had blushed when she was only wearing her dancer's garb. She cleared off the small couch she owned and gestured for William to sit down as she took a seat herself. [member="William Seraven"]

I took my jacket from her and gave a nod as she went up to change. Once she returned, I happily accepted the offer of a seat and sat down. "I'm tellin' ya, things could be a lot better if you just learned to live off the streets. Maybe not easier, but you could at least wear that at your job instead of what you had on before."

"Maybe if I don't find a better way of living by the time they try to send me off to the hutt," She replied calmly, playing with the hem of her shirt. She might hate being a dancer, but she wasn't quite desperate enough to abandoned her apartment to live in a gutter. She admired the boy's resolve when it came to his life style, but she didn't think she'd be able to adapt to it as easily as he suggested. [member="William Seraven"]

I shrugged and continued to rest on the couch. "Well if you ever feel like living in some other way, I'm happy to help. Generally I can be reached just by asking some random bartender in the galaxy." I wrapped my tail around myself, enjoying the comfort of the home. I didn't have many hopes to stick around, but the plushness of the couch would be nice while it lasted.

"You can stay for a little while if you want... Just promise not to kill me in my sleep," She told him, watching him curl up on the couch. She smiled just a bit as she spoke. She wondered if maybe they could be friends, he seemed nice enough. She flushed as she thought of the possibility of a friendship. Who would want to be friends with a dancer? Most people just thought of her as an object, something pretty to look at, but not to talk to or associated with outside of the cantina. [member="William Seraven"]

As she offered the chance to stay, I couldn't help it as my tail puffed up with excitement, though I tried to keep it out of my face. "Thanks, and I promise not to hurt ya. on the contrary, you'll find that those like me, as few as we are do quite the opposite. With me around you'll probably be a bit safer." Sometimes I forgot that the zorrens had been wiped from all records in the galaxy. In fact, it took times like now to remind me. We weren't the galaxies guard dogs anymore. now we wee just a bunch of strays, hoping to get back home.

"Thank you, you can have the bed if you want. I'm alright with sleeping on the couch," She replied happily, smiling whole heartedly at him. She giggled a bit when she saw his tail puff up. She really wanted to pet it. Saryana had a weakness for soft fuzzy things, even more so when they were cute. She nervously reached out a hand to touch his tail, but pulled it back at the last minute, not wanting to be rude. She blushed a bit at her actions. He probably thought she was nothing more than an awkward fool. [member="William Seraven"]

I smiled at the thought. A bed... how long had it been since I was in one of th- NO! Bad dog. The lady gets the bed, always."I've slept in gutters and bars for the past few months. I assure you, this couch will seem like a king sized fancy mattress to me." As she reached out for my tail, I couldn't help but let out a small chuckled and extended it towards her. "Don't worry, you're far from the first to ask."

Saryana giggled like a small child as he extended his tail to her. She smiled as she pet it softly and gently. Everything about Saryana was as gentle as it gets, and this was no exception. She smiled even more when she felt how soft it was. "Wow, I didn't expect it to be this soft," she blushed a bit as she spoke. Saryana was sure she sounded like an idiot to him and she didn't enjoy the feeling. She didn't know why she was so eager for this boy to like her, maybe it was because he was the first person her age to notice her. [member="William Seraven"]
