Brain tails and fox tails (Saryana)

Never got old that bit. After all, I was an endangered species. Not every day a person got to see a zorren. Much less talk to or pet one. "Keeps me warm, but I will say its been a real pain keeping it clean so thanks for the compliments. Turns out that work's paid off. My parents would have my hide if they were to think I wasn't grooming it while I was away."

"I have an extra blanket if you want it. You can take it with you whenever you decide to leave... And you're welcome to stay with me whenever you'd like. No matter where I am, just come find me okay?" she offered with a rather bright smile. She didn't understand why she made such an offer, but she knew she would honor it no matter what. Will seemed to be a truly kind and caring person and until he showed her otherwise he would always be welcome with her. She smiled a bit as she thought about it. Was this what having a friend was like? [member="William Seraven"]

"Actually, that would be very nice, thank you." I didn't know who this girl was. She hardly even knew who I was. Hell, I doubted she even knew what I was. But, I couldn't help but find myself amazed at her kindness. A free place to sleep and even a blanket for other times when I'm not so lucky? Saying it was hard to keep my tail from wagging would be an understatement. "Been a long time since I've actually been able to stay in a place, even if its just for a little while."

"You don't need to thank me... You need a place to stay and I happen to have a place," she replied with a faint blush. She giggled a bit as his wagging tail brushed her shoulder. She was happy to see he was so excited. Saryana wondered why he was so surprised though, she never saw her kindness as something to be amazed by. The young Togruta got up and walked to her room. She grabbed the extra blanket off of her bed and brought it out to him. "It's been on my bed for awhile, but I can wash it if you like? And before you decide to leave for a bit let me know, I'll wash your clothes and the blanket before you leave. I can actually wash your clothes for you now if you'd like? I think you may be able to at least fit into a pair of pants I have. I have a pair that are way to big for me," she blushed a bit more as she made the offer. [member="William Seraven"]

A place to sleep. Some clean clothes? Hell, it was starting to seem more and more like a hotel. While I definitely didn't want to turn it down, I couldn't help but feel a little guilty. "That would be nice, but please, don't go through too much trouble on my account. Already you've done far more than most other's I've met on my little adventures. Besides, there is the fact that we have a few anatomical changes, and I'd rather not put a tail hole in some pants that weren't made for my gender or species."

"It's fine really... It's no trouble at all, and you can keep the pants, like I said they don't fit me... I grabbed a pair of guys pants by mistake one day when i went shopping," She explained,"Oh you can shower too while you're here if you want. I like helping people, it's really no trouble." Saryana smiled cheerily at him. She loved helping people. Maybe she could learn to become some kind of healer one day, if given the chance. She smiled even more at the thought. I couldn't help but laugh as I heard that. "Then I guess you don't have too much of a use for them. Thank you. If you don't mind I might just go do that now. The thought of some warm water that isn't rain suddenly sounds like paradise." It was true, a shower had long been int he waiting and while I always found some way to at least maintain an illusion of cleanliness, some time in an actual refresher would be perfect.

"Just leave the outside the door and I'll put them in the wash," she told him after going to her room to retrieve that pants. They were a pair of simple brown pants that looked like they'd be quite baggy and comfortable. She smiled at him and headed into her kitchen searching for something to cook for dinner. She found a pack of nerf steaks. She pulled them out of the fridge and set them on the counter while she searched for a pan. She found one big enough to cook both steaks at the same time and threw it on the stove. She turned the stove on and put the steaks in the pan, adding a small amount of seasonings to make them taste a bit better. [member="William Seraven"]

I nodded my thanks and headed to the refresher, setting my clothes (as neatly as I could) neatly outside as I prepared for the much anticipated shower. To say the least, it was not a disappointment. Grime and dirt form the streets washed away into the drain, as well as a sense of fatigue I didn't even know I had. As the shower went on, I of course paid attention to my tail, trying not to use too much of her products, or splash water everywhere as I had to overcome the urge to wag it every now and then.

Saryana collected his clothes and threw them in the wash before going back to cooking. She went ahead and made some pasta too. By the time William was done with his shower the food would be ready. She scooped some pasta onto two plates and put a steak on each. She grabbed two forks and went back to the living room. She set both plates down and ran back to grab two knives, putting them with the plates as well. [member="William Seraven"]

I stayed in the shower for several more moments, enjoying the shower. I wasn't sure how long I would be staying and this was certainly not something I'd want to end. However, eventually it did end and after drying off, I darted my hand out the door for the trousers which I quickly put on, as well as my jacket which I had kept with me not just for the sake of decency, but also for the love of it as it had kept me through quite a few hard nights. Wrapping the towel around my tail, I walked out of the refresher, stretching and feeling like a new man... fox... zorren. "That was wonderful, and while I know I've said it, I'll say it again. Thank you."

"You really don't need to thank me," she replied, handing him his plate of food."I uh...Made dinner." Saryana hoped he liked what she cooked. She liked to believe she knew her way around akitchen, but she'd never really had anyone else to cook for so now she was afraid he couldn't like it. She grabbed her own fork and knife and started cutting up her steak to avoid looking at him. [member="William Seraven"]

I nodded to her and sat down, using the knife and fork to cut it apart. After the first bite, I had already started to wag my tail again, the towel drifting around with it. The food was delicious, and considering anything that wasn't cooked over a burning garbage bin would be wonderful, this was perfect. "It's delicious." In truth, I was starting to grow a bit self conscious at how much my tail was moving, it had never done that before and here I was, in a simple home but receiving so many luxuries I'd been going without. I had to restraint myself from consuming it in a few seconds,a f eat easily done by any zorren.

"I have more steaks if you're still hungry when you finish that," Saryana smiled at the compliment and giggled when she saw his tail wagging. She thought he looked kind of cute when his tail wagged, almost like he was some kind of excited puppy. She hoped she'd see him like that more often. The younger dancer blushed a bit at the thought and went back to eating. [member="William Seraven"]

"That would be wonderful." I continued to eating, enjoying every bite. The cheapest of breads and fruits had kept me alive, but something like this was true food, capable of truly filling me up instead of just keeping me alive for the next meal. "Just make sure I don't eat them all. One of the things about being a zorren, we get really hungry."

"What's a Zorren?" The Togruta asked as she finished her own meal. She had never heard of the species before and had been curious ever since she saw the tail, but didn't want to ask about it for fear of being rude. She got up to go cook a bit more food for her friend, throwing to steaks into the pan with some more spice and leaving them too cook. She re-entered the room and sat down with him again.

"I'm a zorren. Though, its not surprising you haven't heard of us. We're kinda on the edge of extinction since the Gulag plague. A bunch of bandits took our home and now we just roam the galaxy. Those they didn't kill, they exiled. At first we wondered why we were spared. Turns out they made it a game of hunting us. One of the reasons I left my parents. Decided our lifestyle made a dependent a bit too hard. At least now their lived will be a bit easier until they're set up for me to come back." I tried to keep the sadness out of my voice. Still, even after living through all of this, it still hurt. After all, being the among the last of one's kind isn't an easy thing. Besides, its not lie I couldn't ever go back to my parents. I just decided not to since I preferred not to make life any harder on them.

"I'm sorry. That must have been hard... I was taken from my family when I was 8. My father had a gambling problem... I was taken as a punishment for him not paying his debts... I was forced to become a dancer to work off what he owed. I was trained for a few years. Once I could pass for being 'of age' they found me a job in a cantina... Before that I was a private dancer. The man who 'owns' me lets me live here because it's close to the cantina. He takes my rent out of what little money I get to keep," Saryana explained with a sad smile. She knew what losing your parents was like. It was hard not having anyone there to comfort of take care of you. Whether you lose them by choice or by force, it still hurts just the same. My tail lowered a bit as I heard her story. As a species and a people, I had the worst story. There was no competition. Nothing beat, 'yeah, I'm a hunted beast with most of my kin being dead.' But as a person, her story was far worse than mine. At least I could go home. "Well, I'm sure we can find someway to get you out of this. Even if its not joining me out in the galaxy. If there's one thing I've learned, life provides at the moments when help is most needed."

"If we don't find a way out of this for me by the time I'm a week away from becoming a hutt's plaything... I'll join you out in the galaxy," She replied after thinking for several moments. She reached over and pet his tail again in an attempt to be comforting as it was clear they were both sad. She got up again to check on the steaks and noticed they were done, so she returned briefly to grab his plate and take it to the kitchen. The young Togruta returned with two more steaks for the hungry fox-like boy. [member="William Seraven"]
