Ryssa Yvarro regarded Vora Kaar with a measured, discerning gaze. She was well aware of the weight behind his words; they carried an undercurrent of challenge, one that any seasoned player in the galactic power struggle would recognize. While his tone might have been casual, the subtext was laden with implications. It was as if they both understood that the Grandmaster's summoning of the Corporate Interest Guilds hinted at something deeper than just a casual meeting.

Her expression remained calm and inscrutable, betraying none of the thoughts running through her mind. This was a setting where every word, every glance, could shift the balance of power, and she was not one to reveal her hand so easily. She studied Vora's helmeted visage, noting the reactions of others around them. She paid no mind to the Mandalorian and his contingent of troops, their presence a reminder of how so many had courted both fear and disdain.

Yet, Ryssa did not flinch as he made his approach, nor did she let her gaze waver when he addressed her. His presence, intimidating to some, was of little concern to her. In truth, she had faced more than her share of would-be intimidators throughout her career. Being a Yvarro came with a burden and a legacy; her name had long been synonymous with Imperialism and its various incarnations. The whispers and rumors that preceded her arrival at any gathering were simply part of the territory.

Vora's question was deceptively light, but she understood its real intent: a probe for her thoughts on the gathering and the underlying motivations at play. Ryssa allowed a small, enigmatic smile to touch her lips as she considered his words. "You could say I find it... interesting, but my priorities lie elsewhere." She gestured subtly to the gathering around them, the collection of corporate titans, mercenaries, and opportunists. "The Alliance seeks an edge, something to shift the balance of power in their favor. Though, I suspect many here believe they have more to gain than to give."

She knew that revealing too much about her strategic goals would be unwise. "Tell me, Vora Kaar, isn't it?," she continued, her tone taking on a more inquisitive edge, "what do you make of all this? Surely, a man of your... experience sees through the surface to the real purpose of this gathering. Are you here merely to watch the spectacle unfold, or do you have intentions of your own?"

Her question, like his, carried weight. It was a subtle test, one that might reveal whether Vora's presence here was purely for observation or if he, too, sought to turn the tides to his advantage.

Chi let the conversations flow around her. She was calm now, more in her element. The Sith were over there in their little huddle, and she was here with her Guild counterparts. The galaxy in microcosm. A Mandalorian was an unexpected inclusion to their meeting. He was heavily armed, which was a bit of a social faux pas to Chi's sensibilities, but if he was there to balance out having the Sith and protect them? She would be happy to oblige him the eccentrics. "Nothing so much." She told Shuklaar Kyrdol Shuklaar Kyrdol in answer to his question, also adding a mental note to talk to John Locke John Locke about his prosthetics. It would be impolite to discuss here, but she had an entire line of bespoke designer replacement limbs sitting unused after a deal with Vale Corp fizzled.

As the Grandmaster entered the room and all eyes naturally turned to the reason they'd gathered, Chi quietly added to the conversation in a voice that wouldn't carry. "Like all leaders right now, she'll be looking for an advantage." That meant that Valery was potentially quite dangerous at the moment. They'd have to be careful not to let her tie them too closely to the Galactic Alliance. There wasn't time to say much more than that, and speculation would soon be moot regardless. More could come once they had all the facts.

There is the sound of scuttling legs, and before long, a familiar (slightly) Colicoid made his way to the room, as well as his envoy droid. The only reason he entertained this meeting is wasted the moment he spots the Jedi Grandmaster. A curl of mouth-parts and the aggressive chitter he spat back at his droid indicated as he took a squatting posture - the droid having to shake their head. A sickly-sweet smell of rotting carrion and raw meat wafted off of the Colicoid's jaws in particular, though his entire frame was pungent and slightly vile. The Colicoid merely glared at the Jedi and awaited her words. He had no lost love for the Galactic Alliance, it seemed.

Valery entered the room with a composed, professional smile and addressed the gathered representatives with a respectful nod.

"Thank you all for taking the time to meet," she began, her voice warm yet firm. "I want to start by acknowledging the significance of the embargo you've enacted against the Dark Empire. Taking a stand against oppression sends a powerful message, and I'm grateful to see such efforts from the Corporate Interest Guild."

She paused briefly, glancing at each representative to emphasize the sincerity of her words.

"My purpose here today goes beyond acknowledgment, however. We are all aware that the galaxy is facing unprecedented turmoil. The Dark Empire's brutal invasion of the core has resulted in this meeting, but Mandalorian incursions and war in the Outer Rim have destabilized trade routes, threatened supply lines, and endangered countless lives as well."

"I'm not an Alliance politician, but I do believe we have a unique opportunity to find common ground that could benefit not only the Galactic Alliance but your business interests as well. The trade routes and hyperspace lanes we use to defend our people are just as crucial for your exploits, after all."

Valery's gaze sharpened, underscoring the urgency of her message.

The Colicoid merely stared at the Jedi Grandmaster's impassioned plea. Was there a kernel of moisture forming? Perhaps a bit of sympathy, or remorse, or grandiose change of person that enabled good nature to flourish? Was there hope?

Nope.

There was only the expectation of profits, and grandiose promises had been offered. The mention of Mandalorian incursions, as well as the issues regarding the Outer Rim, and of course, the hated Dark Empire, drew an instinctual clicking sound from Ank Dec, as to draw attention and eyes to him within the room. Motioning his hand for his envoy droid to speak, the Colicoid merely spoke plainly, honestly. To his envoy droid, of course, who responded for him.

"His presence is aware of the Dark Empire's efforts to threaten us and our clients - a recent bounty has been placed upon the Dark Empire's heads, and we are collaborating to engage in further action. However, this is not done out of love for your order, or sympathetic appeals from the Galactic Alliance. They are a threat to our commercial profits, and unfortunately, the Galactic Alliance continues to spur contractual agreements with an array of corporate bodies, in favor of relying on singular providers who have not risen to meet military demands as expected. Your words have grains of truth to them, but there are no guarantees as to the fulfillments of those words. What will our assurances be once these conflicts end? Where will be our contracts, our commercial interests, our corporate freedoms? Waylaid by the side as to empower some moral good that continues to chafe like a stinging rash?"

It was not his problem, after all, if the Jedi decided to not listen ultimately, though he continued speaking to his envoy droid, who continued to translate... hesitantly.

"However, we are willing to pursue not only further action against the Dark Empire, but also the Mandalorians, provided there are certain concessions made to the Colicoid Creation Nest and those business partners within the Corporate Interest Guild. His Presence understands you are not in charge of the Galactic Alliance, but your chittering words carry weight, so use them. There will be agreements to honor and accept corporate contracts from ALL corporate bodies here, in addition to purchasing substantial amounts of product for this series of military operations, and allowing severely reduced tariffs, taxes, and other fines. The Galactic Alliance will grant subsidies and open corporate trade up to the fullest extent, because if not, you are asking us to contribute our valuable time, our valuable coffers, our valuable assets both liquid and fixed, to benefit a faction who will only abandon His Presence and His peers in the dirt. Either provide us reason to beyond factual statements of the obvious, and benefits to accompany said reasoning, or the Colicoid Creation Nest, and likely others, will focus on moving its time, coffers, and those assets able to be dedicated, to more profitable partners and ventures."

A pause, before the Colicoid chittered one last time, and the droid translated at last.

"However, you do have our word our actions against the Dark Empire and Mandalorians, especially if the latter begins to threaten operational parameters, will be dealt with severely, with prejudice, and within Colicoid definitions of legality. His Presence demands such. Now, do you have any offers you can make us that prove actually profitable and giving us the motivation and security guarantees to ensure our contributions are not wasted in folly?"

The Colicoid finished, and merely nodded to his peers as if to signal that he had finished his end of things. There was only cold, hard, logical fact in his words; he cared not for any offense stricken by those words. Such sentient emotion was anathema to business after all.

The doors slid open to the conference room, revealing a gleaming white droid with caf in hand and a hovering cart of various cakes and cookies behind it. Quite obvious to what was going on, it did what it was programed to do ; serve caf and desserts. Mugs and pastries were soon being distributed, the droid speaking in a quiet tone.

"Caf? Petit four? Cake? Blondie?"

She had been mostly quiet this meeting was about hearing the grandmaster and as she sat there listening... raised an eyebrow. The mandalorians were the newest problem and she didn't doubt that they were doing everything said... but she also knew most tried to be neutral in this... They trraded with the customers and people of the galaxy and most eventually got contracts with governments big and small. She waited until the end and then looked around for the reactions from the others. Then two things happened... a droid entered wth cake which was a better distraction as the Colicoid spoke and it sounded like they were trying to speak for all of them when she turned.

"The Grandmasters words might have weight but that amount of conditions would be more then she could do or even promise." She looked at Valery though and bowed her head. "Though the looks of things could be different. Most of us are neutral in our selling, not all but most. If it was decided we were to do the same with the mandalorians as we did with the Dark Empire it could be seen a certain way as being aligned with the Alliance." She was debating it as they were one of the few governments that looked to be in the core and spread outwards to help not a singular section of the galaxy. "I have never been one to worry about how Sasori looks to people so I would be in favor myself without laying a list of demands yet. That comes later after cake."

"It is unlikely that the Alliance would advocate for an ultimatum at this juncture, despite possessing the market influence to do so. The corporate landscape is overflowing with capable individuals, who can establish new corporations that align more closely with the principles of the New Jedi Order rather than those of the Corporate Community if these negotiations turn sour. " He had to dismiss the idea that the Corporate Community represented an indispensable asset to the Galactic Alliance, given that there existed numerous member worlds with substantial industrial capacities like Corellia and Kuat. Should the Alliance choose to overlook the Corporate Community after this conference, it would have an abundance of well-educated individuals to select from.

The Queen of Trade, Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau , always demonstrated accurate judgment in matters pertaining to the civilian sector. It was possible that his own assessment of the Alliance's playbook was flawed, although he would never concede to such a statement not in front of so many important individuals. Such apprehension although warranted was quickly dismissed when the Mastermind of Locke & Key, John Locke John Locke , made his way toward the duo and several others, as the gathering began to swell in numbers.

"While your main market does not reside within Alliance Space, Mr. Locke, it is important to recognize that other individuals present in this conference room could face significant financial repercussions should the Alliance decide to exclude them through a mandate similar to that of the Dark Empire. The effectiveness of commercial threats diminishes when the authority in question possesses alternative economic strategies, and the Alliance indeed has multiple options at its disposal." Laborr said through the hissing of the methane suit, recognizing that the embargo imposed on the Dark Empire was effective due to the lack of alternative options available to the Imperials in the event of such a scenario. In contrast, the Alliance possessed numerous strategies to prevent such an outcome.

He could not hear the other conversations happening around the room due to the excessive noise of the pressure suit. He was aware, however, that Vora Kaar Vora Kaar and Ryssa Yvarro Ryssa Yvarro were partaking in discreet conversation, presumably to enhance their networks prior to the main event.

Shortly thereafter, the only significant event was the Grandmaster Valery Noble Valery Noble delivering her speech to the conference, accompanied by the firebrand comments of the Colicoid Ank Dec Ank Dec , a figure of some importance, albeit not sufficiently notable. The impact of his statements was detrimental to the Guild's reputation, a situation deemed intolerable by the Trade Federation, which depended on that reputation for its prosperity.

"AWEROROROROROR...Engaging in verbal conflict with our host will yield no results other than increased division. This outcome more aligns with the objectives of the Dark Empire, prompting us to question the allegiance of the Creation Nest to the commercial interests of the Guild and its relevant corporations." The Skakoan explained towards Ank Dec Ank Dec of the Creation Nest, acknowledging that while the statements made were not inaccurate, they were ill-timed given the significance of the conference. It was crucial for them to preserve a cordial relationship, at least temporarily, while the guild convened in a single location.

"Grandmaster Noble - I have no doubts that your desire for collaboration is made within good-faith. Yet I must question why you did not take this matter up with the Federal Assembly and the Finance and Commerce Committee before branching out to us. We all have conflicting interests and a desire for profits that do not necessarily align with the values of the Alliance. Therefore why side-step the Alliance Government and make a plea directly to us?" The Viceroy asked with a curious expression beneath the mask and armored googles. The Guild was neutral and that meant trading with everyone and everything unless blacklisted by them like the Dark Empire, but the Alliance Government served in the best interests of said Alliance and therefore could solve the problem themselves.

Braze leaned forward, tapping his fingers against the polished table. His gaze flickered from Valery Noble Valery Noble to the Colicoid and then to Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr , who'd just posed a pointed question. The tension in the room didn't escape Braze's sharp eye—neither did the undertones of ambition and skepticism swirling through the air.

Oddly enough, he was here today without Everette, the man he'd specifically hired to handle most of the company's day-to-day matters who had a good legal mind. Everette hadn't been allowed into the meeting, leaving Braze to sit through everything himself. It was unusual for him to be present at a corporate gathering like this, especially considering his main focus was on his Jedi training, but keeping an ear on the corporate world couldn't hurt.

Braze accepted some hot roasted bean juice and a pastry, listening as the adults traded their carefully measured words. Dressed in robes made of fine silks, he likely stood out—a young teenager in a room full of experienced power players, quietly observing the scene unfold around him.

He seemed far more interested in the sweets than the adults' ongoing discussions, but he was quietly filing away mental notes for later. Braze took in who was being flirty with whom, the subtle gestures and glances exchanged, and how even Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath carried himself in the midst of it all.

Shuklaar nodded his thanks to Chi Chuchi Chi Chuchi . He contemplated the various assessments that had been put forward about the meeting and the Grandmaster carefully. At first glance, there was virtually nothing that Breshig nor Strill could gain from this meeting, and he sure as haran wasn't here to do any charity. Manda knew the Alliance didn't need his. So what was he doing here? The last time he'd managed to secure three new contacts, two security contacts and one sabotage contract against the Dark Empire. Even he and his didn't stand to directly benefit from this meeting, there was no guarantee that the there wouldn't be those willing to sign a contract after they'd agreed to deal with the Alliance.

The Grandmaster of the Jetii, the one they'd been dragged here to hear speak made her way up to the 'front' and did just that. Shuklaar listened with rapt attention, not because she was a compelling speaker or that she held that much charisma, but it was di'kutla idea to have come all this way and then not in the very least listen to what she had to say. He was...disappointed, however, to say the least. It seemed the least the Alliance could have done is put forward some manner of effort to assess a more compelling reason to inspire cooperation. Trade routes and hyperspace lanes? Really? When Locke and Key had only just come up with the very solution to that particular problem which the Alliance had chosen not to adopt?

Shuklaar was about to say something about this when the chirping of the Colicoid Creation Nest CEO and the droning of his droid caught his attention. There were few times in his life that he could recall that he wished he'd never learned basic. This, however, was one of them. Shuklaar would be lying if he said that he disagreed with what was just said, in spirit anyway, the way it had been said however. He took a deep, long breath and let it out in an equally long sigh before muttering, "Shab." It seemed that whenever he thought he was the one who'd be the first to commit a faux pas at one of these, he was proven wrong.

He saw a tray of caf being passed around and absentmindedly took one of the mugs. He held the warm mug in hand for a moment before he realized that caf wasn't going to cut it. He needed something stronger if this was how things were going to start. He reached into his webbing and pulled out his hip flask. After unscrewing and then flicking the silver cap open, he tipped a healthy glug into his caf.

Turning to John Locke John Locke he cleared his throat and said, "I was going to remind the Jetii about your hypergate venture, but things seem interesting enough as is." He then held his hip flask up to offer it, "Might help." Then again, he wasn't even sure if alcohol affected his friend anymore, what with his extensive cybernetics. He glanced around at the others, making eye contact with anyone who seemed like they needed a drink, tilting the hip flask slightly in their direction to offer them as he did. One way or another, he very much doubted that there'd be a drop of tihaar left in it before this meeting was up.

It hadn't even hardly started yet, or the Marquis had already begun to have this feeling that this meeting was going to be a tiresome and irksome affair where little to nothing would be gained if there wasn't going to be any dialogue. For now the majority of things being said left and right were either veiled threats, idle gossip or in Valery Noble Valery Noble 's case, a plea to stand by the Galactic Alliance's side in a troublesome situation they themselves have partially created.

Leaning back in his chair, letting out a soft sigh as he reached for his cup of brewed and roasted beans, taking a sip of the bitter, black liquid, the Marquis of Valkan allowed his gaze to slide across the room, keeping quiet as he could hear the Collicoid Ank Dec Ank Dec 's droid utter the Presence's desires and decision with its loud, clattering voice. This seemed to somewhat annoy the Trade Federation's envoy; with Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr clearly responding with his usual metallic tones, though Tertius did notice an unusual level of frustration in the Skakoan's voice, letting the Eriaduan believe that the Colicoid's demands were...not according to the viceroy's own plans.

Not too far from where he sat, he noticed the young fellow who had managed to make him lose composure, resulting in a few somewhat rather awkward and humiliating consequences afterwards. Still, since Braze Braze was now seated as part of the Corporate Interests Guild, tertius simply gave a calm nod before turning his attention elsewhere. He didn't need to do or say much in this meeting, after all...he rarely had any business with the Galactic Alliance, who in some way or another were quite similar to the Dark Empire, something he'd wisely not say aloud, but it could not be denied that penetrating the Alliance's market was perhaps even more difficult than actually getting into the Dark Empire's market and get things done. There was also the fact that the Grandmaster seemed keen on villifying the Empire of the Lost as well, this hard stance approach the alliance was taking could only hurt them in the long run according to Tertius' beliefs.

"What do you wish from us concretely, Grandmaster Noble?" The whole dawdling, the pleasantries and backtalk were all inefficient and wholly unnecessary. The only reason Tertius had come to this meeting was to hear what the Jedi Grandmaster had to ask and what she wanted to request, but for now all he heard was a summary of things the Alliance didn't like and things that went against their hypocritical ideologies. "Credit injections into the Galactic Alliance's economy? A cooperative audit on your assets and an advisory notice on how to improve your economy? Assistance with projects of an economic nature? I do not mean to be rude or in any way condescending, but we are not the senate, where those you'd adress are nothing but a bunch of jumped-up despots and dreamers. In this very room, you have an audience who deal with facts, with numbers and most importantly...a group who values the most necessary commodity of all: Time."

With his piece being said, the Marquis took another sip of the black liquid in his cup, nodding towards the Trade Federation's viceroy, certain that at the very least Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr would appreciate finally getting to the crux of it all.

Alex Stern

Outer Rim Resources Director
He was late, fashionably so. As he slipped into the meeting room, Alex scanned the people present and their little gatherings of cliques. He and Outer Rim Resources often carved out their own niche, and he wasn't worried about the small talk and networking. Instead, he headed to a table where a white haired kid in a fancy robe sat more or less alone eating a muffin and took a free chair.

"You've got the right idea kid." He said conspiratorially as he drew a chilled bottle of root beer and a packet of cookies from the inner pocket of his nerf-hide jacket. He spread a napkin to catch crumbs and, after offering one to the kid, started snacking.

This was a dog and pony show. Nobody seemed to know what was happening, but there was plenty of speculation going on and cries for action instead of listening to the representative they were here to hear out. ORR was in a bit of a tricky spot. They'd focused their efforts on the Outer Rim, improving quality of live, helping fringe settlements modernize and grow. It must have paid off too, because suddenly the Sith Order had set up shop and added something like 95% of his company to their tax base.

Maybe the Alliance would offer him a way out, an incentive to expand into the Core, or at least the Expansion Region and Inner Rim. The analysts had picked out a few promising locations. But would there be incentives to offset the costs or more troubles? It might be better to head into unclaimed territory again.

Things had started off so smoothly -- until the Colicoid's Nest Evoy representative decided to shatter that calm with all the subtlety of a blaster bolt.

Danger did her best to keep her expression poised and civil; after all, she'd had decades to master the art of diplomacy. Her mama had always reminded her that 'you catch more Nerfflies with honey than with spoiled vinegar.' And that was how the Queen of Trade had built her reputation: a perfect hostess, polished and gracious.

But when she heard the caustic way the Colicoid droid lashed out at the Jedi Grandmaster, even Danger's emerald eyes couldn't help but widen in sheer shock. She blinked slowly, lifting her chin and narrowing her gaze ever so slightly toward the Colicoid representative's seat, working to keep her temper in check.

Of all the nerve! she fumed, mind whirling for some way to pull this back from the brink. First impressions counted for everything in business, and the last thing they needed was for one hot headed representative to ruin a promising trade deal. The Colicoid had practically Jabba'd this whole thing with their abrasive talk.

Feth, I need a drink, she mused inwardly, sighing at the thought of something stronger than her usual Star Caf. Thank the stars that others were already stepping in to soothe the tension the Colicoid had stirred up.

With a measured breath, Danger let a smooth smile settle over her lips. "As Viceroy Laborr mentioned, Envoy Ank Dec Ank Dec , we've no need for such verbal fireworks here. We're merely in a preliminary discussion -- a friendly meet and greet of sorts, one that I reckon would be best served with the kind of decorum you, as a Colicoid of standin', are surely well acquainted with conductin' business with others," she drawled, her throaty twang softened with a subtle edge.

"Now, while we may be a collective of companies with shared interests, we're in no way aimin' to stir the Giju pot. Especially not when the Grandmaster herself has come here to explore a potential mutual path forward with us all."

Her tone held just enough of an edge to suggest the Colicoid might want to rein it in and let the conversation flow with a bit more civility.

She turned back to the Grandmaster, her smile deepening with genuine regret.

"I apologize for such a display, Grandmaster Noble. Please, rest assured that the Guild aims to foster a thoughtful and respectful conversation. We are indeed interested in the possibilities you've brought forth and believe there's room for real common ground here, particularly around the trade routes and hyperlanes. Please do share your thoughts on what that may look like."

With a warm glance, she nodded toward John Locke John Locke , welcoming him to step in and share any insights on his Hypergate expansion. But Danger intended to give Grandmaster Noble her full attention first, ready to hear her thoughts before layering in any additional questions. The ones Viceroy Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr and Marquis Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath inquired about were fine for now. Matsu Ike Matsu Ike had correctly stated that most of those in the guild are neutral, but the Guild stance as a whole didn't mean that the individual companies weren't keen on favoring one over another.

Nonetheless, this was one moment she intended to try and smooth over with every drop of her business charm and savvy she could muster.

Braze perked up at the arrival of the strange fellow just as Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau began laying down the law of decorum. He recalled how, earlier, Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el had expressed some concern about Braze's behavior in front of influential politicians during events with political stakes. But even Braze wasn't as out of line as the peculiar Ank Dec Ank Dec character seemed to be.

Catching Alex Stern Alex Stern 's eye, Braze straightened up, his interest piqued by whatever the man was eating. "Thank you," he offered in a low voice, accepting the cookie with a faint sigh. He then cast a curious glance at Valery Noble Valery Noble . He didn't know her well personally and usually tried to stay out of her proverbial line of sight—she was upper management, after all, and being noticed by upper management typically spelled trouble. Yet he was interested in her perspective on the situation, given his vested interest in both sides here.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Braze," he whispered to Alex, offering a quiet nod. "Things feel a little... tense?" He tilted his head slightly, trying to convey a calm demeanor. "I'm glad Miss Danger spoke up," he added softly, careful not to distract from the meeting's flow, his attention fully focused but his voice subdued. He accepted the cookie and took a small bite of it moving to offer the man a fe wof the things he'd picked up- particularly some creame cheese stuffed pastries.

While he despised droids, this one was actually useful. The little servant droid left him a steaming new travel cup of of caf with cream and two blondies. Given what had transpired plus his rocky relationship with the Grand Master, it was best he kept his mouth full and eyes focused on the front of the room towards the Jedi.

Danger had the situation handled, as did several others. It seemed himself and Mister Nagrath were on the same page - what was the purpose of those assembled today? Grand Master Noble had mentioned to him privately wanting their help but he had yet to see why exactly they would be assisting with the cause. Even odder, why suddenly reach of to them? Was the Galactic Alliance stretched far too thin?

"Not to add to the din, but why are you calling upon us Grand Master Noble? Several Jedi have companies, at least one of which is currently in the room. Your borders are quite expansive, varied resource rich worlds. Refugees should be flocking to your government, increasing the labor pool available. So why us?"

Hopefully they would be getting to the bottom of this soon so all could decide if it was worth investing and assisting. Until that moment, he picked up a blondie, surprised at how good it actually was. Little servant droid had a few surprises.

All that I can do is listen. There is not much that I could say that would be heard. Afterall there are far louder voices here than my own that carry a lot more weight with those here.

Politely I take a cup of caf and a cake from the droid. New Cov sits next to the Correlian Run; our customer base never reaching into any territory that is not neutral. Our shipments have continued to be safe because of that; and so our profits have not dwindled due to the continuing wars. Instead everything has taken a positive turn.

I can only hope that that good fortune continues.

"If you'll excuse me, it seems the main event has begun," Ryssa said to Vora, offering a small nod before making her way toward the larger assembly. The recent points raised by Marquis Credius Nargath and Judah Dashiell were, in her view, incisive. Ryssa found herself silently agreeing with their skepticism: why, exactly, would a Jedi of considerable wealth and influence seek corporate backing in a galaxy where the Galactic Alliance controlled vast resources and territory?

As she moved, she chose a seat not far from Merryn Sellek, discreetly positioning herself to observe the Grandmaster's anticipated response. Her eyes swept the room, noting the presence of familiar and influential figures. When her gaze landed on the Trade Queen, Danger Arceneau, she allowed herself a moment's pause. It had been some time since Primo Victorian had collaborated with Arceneau, and the idea of reigniting that relationship crossed her mind as a worthwhile pursuit.

For now, she waited, content to observe how this unique intersection of power and influence might shape the conversation to come.

"Not to add to the din, but why are you calling upon us Grand Master Noble? Several Jedi have companies, at least one of which is currently in the room. Your borders are quite expansive, varied resource rich worlds. Refugees should be flocking to your government, increasing the labor pool available. So why us?"

Judah had dressed his words up to sound polite, but Braze recognized the comment for what it was: a barely veiled insult, a subtle power play, and a bid for self-validation. The implication that Jedi with companies could handle the galaxy's problems struck Braze as both rude and out of touch, as though Judah felt the need to position himself above the rest.

With a steady sigh, Braze let decided on a measured response to make his point just as sharply.

"Whilst it's a nice thought to imagine I could manage and support an entire planet, let alone a system or most of the galaxy, with just a few companies," Braze said, pausing to let the notion settle in the room.

"But the reality is that no single group can shoulder that big a task alone. Collaboration between the Jedi and the Corporate Interests Guild could be beneficial—especially now. With the Dark Empire nationalizing assets and seizing companies, a cooperative partnership could mean added security for CIG's business interests, reducing the risk of becoming their next targets, while providing the Jedi with needed resources for peacekeeping. Securing trade routes together would boost safer transport and commerce, which means stable profits for CIG and smoother operations for the Alliance.

Expanding humanitarian aid might open new markets and opportunities, enhancing CIG's reputation and bringing the Jedi the logistical support they may need to reach more systems. Corporations and business for trade already have rather fine distribution networks after all. And a united front wouldn't just bolster public support; it would strengthen both groups influences across the galaxy. In my opinion if there's anything we could use right now, it's a practical alliance that meets the needs of both sides... Personally, I would prefer to spend my efforts on building a legacy that will outlast me."

He held back the sharper retort lingering in his mind, reminding himself to wield his wit as a shield, not a sword. There was no need to escalate the tension; restraint would serve his purpose well enough. Not everyone saw things the same way, but even he could recognize the potential for some give-and-take that would benefit both sides.

Ryssa listened carefully to Braze's proposal, her expression carefully composed, though internally, skepticism burned through her thoughts. The Jedi, with their tradition of selflessness, now seemed to propose a partnership that, at least in her mind, strayed uncomfortably close to corporate profiteering. Humanitarian aid was vital, but creating "markets" around it suggested something far removed from selfless relief. She understood the need for funding and supply networks—Primo Victorian Enterprises was built on precisely that—yet it struck her as hypocritical to call this aid while framing it as an economic opportunity. Her gaze sharpened as she crafted her response.

After a measured pause, she spoke, her tone cool but deliberate.
"I suppose gone are the days of the humble Jedi monk," she remarked, letting a faint edge of irony color her voice. "Enter the era of the Corporate Jedi, who seems more interested in profits than people."

First, she considered his statement that "no single group can shoulder that big a task alone." This struck her as a convenient disclaimer. The Corporate Interests Guild (CIG) had long operated independently and effectively without Jedi oversight, and now the Jedi, on a mission allegedly centered on aid, were looking to team up with corporate giants to "share the burden." To her, this sounded less like partnership and more like self-interest masked in cooperation.

She allowed her words to settle before leaning forward.
"Let me be clear," she continued, her posh Galidraani accent coming through quite clear, "humanitarian aid should be about providing relief—without hidden agendas or profit margins. When we start discussing 'expanding markets,' I question whether it's still aid at all. The people you aim to serve are in the midst of loss and upheaval. They're not potential customers or a new market opportunity. You can argue it's for the people, and yet, here you are among the corporate sharks of the galaxy, discussing profits and expansions. Forgive my bluntness, but this sounds less like charity and more like a business proposal." One that seemed to blur the line between aid and exploitation.

Her skepticism only deepened as she reached the next part of his statement: "Expanding humanitarian aid might open new markets and opportunities." The phrase alone was disconcerting. Since when was humanitarian aid considered a "market"? She couldn't help but question the intentions behind this approach. Was the Jedi mission about profit through supposed aid, or was it genuine? Humanitarian aid, she believed, should alleviate suffering—not create commercial ventures that exploited the vulnerable. By opening "new markets," it felt as if they were capitalizing on suffering rather than mitigating it.

Her gaze flicked to the Grandmaster, then back to Braze.
"And as for this talk of securing CIG's interests because the Dark Empire is nationalizing assets—by whose standards are we determining that this nationalization is a 'threat'? Seizing assets is a right of any governing body, just as CIG itself enforced embargos. The mere fact that the Empire is reasserting control over its economy doesn't inherently warrant a militarized alliance. I understand security concerns—everyone here is familiar with the importance of trade routes and stability. But is peace truly the aim here, or are we using Jedi authority to buffer private enterprise?" It wasn't unusual for governments to take control of their own economy. Of course what sat with Ryssa was the talk of "legacy" what need or concern did the Jedi have for legacy? Building a legacy was a noble sentiment to close with, but to Ryssa, it seemed like empty rhetoric, a way to appeal to anyone in the room willing to overlook the actual terms of the proposal.

The idea of "securing trade routes together" raised further questions. Securing transport might indeed ensure safer shipments and steady revenue, but for whom? While Braze phrased it as mutual benefit, the true advantage seemed to favor corporate stability and, by extension, CIG's profit margins. What exactly did the Jedi need from these trade routes that couldn't be arranged through existing resources? She wondered how much leverage the Alliance wanted to gain in these routes under the guise of mutual security.

She sat back, scanning the room, her eyes locking on Braze and the Grandmaster.
"I raise these questions not to offend but to clarify. Aid and partnership, yes—but only if we're clear on the motivations and limitations. The Jedi order has always claimed a mission of compassion; if that mission has changed, then let's be transparent about that too."

Satisfied, she settled back, her gaze moving around the room to gauge reactions.

Braze met her gaze, unphased by the jab. "Well, that was blatantly rude," he replied, his tone cool. "Not that you'd know much about what I do, who I am, or what I stand for."

Braze raised an eyebrow, unable to contain a touch of sarcasm. "Yeah, no bantha poodoo," he replied. "Were you even paying attention? Or did you have a strong drink before breakfast?"

Braze took a steadying breath, choosing his words carefully. "No, you're raising these questions to paint yourself on some moral high ground," he replied, "while completely misconstruing a genuine proposal for looking at commonground between thw two groups here as self-interest. You seem determined to twist every point I've made. Collaboration between two groups isn't profiteering; it's common sense. Resources don't come free, and it's the Galactic Alliance taking on that financial burden—not the people."

He met her gaze, his tone sharpening slightly. "The Alliance is one of the largest intergalactic powers, and yes, they have the means and captiol to work with companies to provide for their citizens. Their responsibility is to protect those in their borders from threats like the Dark Empire. And if you're so quick to question that, perhaps you'd be better off writing for one of those holo-tabloids with your conspiracy theories."

Braze leaned back slightly, his words settling in. "What we're talking about isn't some corporate cash grab, but a way to provide lasting stability and security to those in need. And if that makes me a 'Corporate Jedi' in your eyes, then so be it. I'll gladly carry that title if it means creating a galaxy that doesn't leave people to suffer while we debate ideals."
