Candle in the Dark [GA vs OS Invasion of Lujo Objectives: 1, 2, 4]

Storming through the narrow hallway he turned his head towards were the jedi seemed to be pouring into the facility. 'Hmm other non force users are with them as well... Interesting.' Was all he thought as he walked up into the stairway and began to ascend to the next floor. His palms itched and he felt his breathing grow slow and precise while his heart began to beat a strong beat but still calm. He knew this sensation and if he was to compare it to something it would be the feeling an athlete would have right at the starting line, not nervous but focused on the path ahead. Ready to run with all his might.
As he took the final step to the top of the stairs he noticed a GR soldier that looked a little like a technician. 'Probably belonged to the squad bellow...' He thought as he raised his hand while still walking forwards, pulling the female Twilek technician's neck into his grasp while he just continued to walk, dragging the girl along on her neck. "Who is the commanding officer of the invading strike force?" He asked calmly without even looking at her, why did he have to anyway she was so scared he could smell the trail of urine she was leaving behind her as he dragged her along. However much to Erebos's bemusement the girl only began to babble incoherently as all consuming panic set itself firmly into her mind.
"I-I don't want to die!" She begged and pleaded, tears streaming down her beautiful blue skinned face, even though Erebos repeated the question and turned his head to look at her face, his inhuman eyeless mask only cementing the panic further into the poor girls mind. "Who Is the one in charge of the attack on this facility?" He asked again as he gripped her neck a bit tighter but still allowing her room to speak and breath still. Only inane babble and pleadings to spare her life came back and he responded her uselessness in kind as he sent a steady current of force lighting through his hand into her body and cooked her from the inside before dropping the limp and steaming body to the floor. "Useless... Is this really the caliber of the soldiers that aren't those mindless clones of theirs?" He asked himself but then simply let out a scoff and continued his steady pace towards an enemies that would actually put up a fight against him.

A thousand worlds of burden came to bear down upon her form as she to the edge of the ramp, the dropship would shake as incoming flak exploded all around. She felt fear for the unknown but steeled her heart against the cold that tried to grip her core. A warming sensation embraced her from behind – perhaps it was the Pontite crystal, perhaps it was the ethereal presence of her mother who had passed at the treacherous hands of the Republic. Maybe it was just what she needed – the Light. Her eyes would close as she steadied herself with a hand against the durasteel bulkhead, the sounds of explosions drowning out as she focused within, letting the calm waves rush over her. Something called her to this battle, to aid the Alliance against the forces of darkness. She would fight behind the banner which Master Sionoma carried but inevitably, she knew she would come face to face with her demon from worlds far beyond this one.

She knew not his name, nor did she care.

His presence was felt – like a burning sensation in the back of her mind.

The sound of yelling caught her ear and step forward she would, to the very edge, hand letting go of the bulkhead. It was a simple drop and go, nothing more. Eyes would open and she stepped off, falling to the ground below in a somewhat graceful manner. She landed in a crouch, knees groaning against the pressure from the accelerated landing. She remained kneeling only for a moment, rising up off the ground, shrouded in a dark cloak and carrying nothing more than her two sabers which were clipped at her backside. She turned to follow in the hallowed footsteps of those before her, darkness lashing out at her soul. It threatened to break the chains within her – tempting her to free herself from the Light, but she rebuffed it. She found it easy to ignore, a sense of tranquility encasing her as she moved on through the cracked landscape.

No sooner had they entered when a side door opened up packed full of Sith. Thurion and the GA soldiers dispatched them quickly enough allowing for them to move forward. The shared intelligence from the Galactic Alliance, provided Coci and Thurion with a map of the place and they had decided on a plan to make their way down to the lower level and into the holding pens in this horrid place. So much despair and fear sickened the air, toxic with death and darkness. It was time to move on to cleanse the place.

The Galactic Alliance soldiers moved to enter the next room, for the stair well that would bring them down into room H. They would secure that area and move to infiltrate further into the bunker. However, Coci and Thurion moved to the end of the room, scanners indicating the weakest or more thin part of the floor. "Right here, my love. Two meters by one. That should do it and we should land in the center of the lower corridor. It is risky, but we don't have much time. But according to the plans of this place, we could be very near the holding pens".

With a quick nod of her head, Coci plunged her purple blade down into the floor and began to cut a hole for them to enter to the next floor. The metallic floor glowed red, before the slag began to fall to the lower corridor. Although the floor is thinner here it would still take some doing to complete the task.

The Festering Cairn

A lone Alliance dropship found itself off course; its navigation equipment was fried by stray turbolaser fire during the initial assault.

"We're going down! Prepping for emergency landing, everyone buckle up back there..." The vessel's pilot alerted the other passengers of their inevitable crash landing.

In the dropship's rear, along with half a dozen soldiers, Kail rushed to the emergency seats located along the side of the hull's interior. Quickly she sat down and strapped herself in. Pressure dropped rapidly, the ship struggling to keep itself steady as automated systems began failing under the stress of the increasing fall speed. Emergency thrusters activated, the fiery red flashes would alert anyone below; as would the sound of the engines.

After stabilizing, the dropship changed course and veered towards the entrance of a lone valley near the cairn that was without a doubt in dedication to the Sith.

The intercom blared on again, "brace for impact in thirty seconds!" The pilot exclaimed.

Kail counted internally. Thirty... Twenty-nine... Twenty-eight... Twenty-seven... Twenty-six... Twent--The dropship shook violently, one of the stabilizers tore off the main hull, exposing the electrical parts which soon caught fire. Before she could even comprehend what had happened, the vessel crashed almost nose first at an angle, dragging across the ground and tossing up dirt and rock sediment along a twenty meter trail before stopping.

Several of the soldiers were strapped in improperly, and the pilots died almost instantly on impact. The roaring fire went to consume the vessel, Kail quickly unstrapped herself and went to help a soldier who was stuck. Taking his tactical knife and ripping through the fabric. "Get out of here," he lifted the man out of his seat and tossed him towards the emergency side exit. Small explosives shattered the hinges, allowing the durasteel hatch to fly off the side.

Unfortunately only about four of them lived, including Kail. Walking away from the wreckage, the dropship exploded once the fire reached the munitions. Much to the padawan's surprise, the three soldiers stood around here silently awaiting for orders. "Ah..." Was all she could muster. Kail cleared her throat, "we should scout out. Split up and find help; we're far from our original rally point and there's nothing we can do on our own."

The men nodded and headed off in either direction, leaving Kail alone with one path... That which led towards the festering cairn.

A curt salute was thrown in the direction of the Heavenshields as Jacen turned off to follow several fireteams of GADF soldiers. Whilst his instinct was to stay low, he held his head high as he marched after his troops. Even the mildest latent Force Sensitive could be affected by the dark presence of this bunker. Whatever experiments the Sith had been carrying out they had left a thumbprint in the signature of the Force here. Echoes of fear, pain, hatred. The soldiers needed to see that the Jedi had no fear of this place.

Bolts lanced back and forth ahead of him. GADF soldiers tried to get a foothold near a hastily constructed defensive line. Duracrete pillars had been set down in the narrow corridor between to two areas of the bunk and the Sith troops were refusing to be pinned down. Several Alliance soldiers lay dead in no man’s land.

Jacen darted towards cover, his golden blade snapping to life and swatting three bolts out of the air as he ran. As soon as he was behind a corner his saber returned to his belt and his eyes slowly closed. A deep, calming breath and he Centred himself.

There was a forklift truck in the middle of the space between the two forces. Whilst it would perhaps afford some cover if they could reach it, Jacen repurposed it. There was a slight shudder, before it lurched into the air. The strain manifested across his brow as he grasped it tight and gathered the Force around it. One big impulse and he let it fly. It arced through the air and collided with one of the duracrete barriers heavily.

There were screams as several Sith soldiers were caught under it. Chucks of detritus and dust were spewed in all directions. With nearly a whole fire team down, and a significant chunk of cover destroyed the firefight quickly shifted. An Alliance repeater kept one flank pinned, whilst others advanced and let grenades fly. The Sith position was overwhelmed within a minute and Jacen followed his soldiers. In the tight confines he knew that standing right in front of his own riflemen was not the brightest move.

Coci's plan might've been crazy, but it sure didn't lack for creativity. It was also sure to take the Sith forces by surprise as a frontal assault was to be expected. Striking from above, however, was a whole 'nother thing. Thus, husband and wife set about to cut their way through the floor, their lightsabers carving through the materials with relative ease in a display of blue and purple sparks. As the piece of floor they stood on began to cave in and sink through the rest of it, there was a sudden drop when they'd finally cut their way through to the room below. With a heavy *thud* the two found themselves on the bottom floor of the complex, and to the surprise of everyone present they had dropped in on a bunch of Sith troopers, quite literally.

"Hello, there," Thurion spoke playfully before slamming his armoured fist into the floor, causing the Force to erupt into a powerful kinetic wave in all directions, tossing them aside like leaves in the wind. This would create an opening for Coci to go to work on the remaining soldiers.

A young man shuffled behind the towering Jedi clad in their armor and wielding blades of light. Wearing only ordinary clothes and a Jedi cloak where others strolled in with armor, he could not boast a great stature, nor claim the chiseled features of a demigod. Slightly pudgy, the baby fat still filling out his cheeks, the padawan looked on with wide blue eyes as events unfolded.

The forklift lifted into the air and came down at Master Voidstalker's command, crushing beings beneath it. Abel could hear the crunch of bones and the screams of the dead or dying. He shuddered visibly, reflexively reaching for the medical equipment stored in the pack slung over his shoulders. The urge to help, somehow, filled him. He peeked around the duracrete and caught sight of some of the bodies lying broken on the ground. Faceless helmets stared back at him.

Abel wondered who they were beneath those helmets and what they had been like, and if they had really wanted to fight here at all. Did they all have families waiting back home, or were the Sith's soldiers also monsters? A blaster bolt whinged past, causing Abel to duck back behind cover.

The braziers burned dimly in the dusty gloom, the scent of blood wafting through the darkness to grace Gabriel's nostrils with its putridity. The air within the cairn was heavy with shadow for the darkness seemed to coalesce within the carved stone walls, drawn to an epicenter of malignancy that too beckoned for Gabriel and his cohorts. Creatures, stooped and deformed, waddled about blindly in the suffocating smog that clung to the ground, yet they paid the trespassers no mind as they went about their wanderings. But there were darker creatures lurking in the shadows, and they watched Gabriel and his pack with shining crimson eyes barely distinguishable. The despicable hymn from the central chamber grew louder and louder as more voices lent their strength to it, until the chant was almost deafening in its intensity.

Banner fashioned from Human flesh had been hung from many of the supporting columns, and upon their leathery surface were inscribed vile incantations written in both the ancient High Sith and the Graug dialect, yet from a distance they were all but indistinguishable. But above the ritual chanting, above the sounds of steel cutting cleaning through soft flesh, and above the sounds of death bubbling from the torn throats of slaves there was a voice directing his pawns.

And now it turned its attention to Gabriel: "Ah, the Alliance, meddling as always. I suppose a welcome is in order, so welcome... insects, welcome to my world." At that moment the others would be loosed upon them, while the spectral voice returned its attention back to the vile ritual at hand.

Damian Starchaser still wasn’t sure about Jacen Voidstalker. Sure the man was competent, and he seemed nice enough, but he still held [member="Kana Truden"], his master, in prison. Then again he did move into action swift enough. With use of the force he broke the Sith troopers out of cover allowing the galactic alliance troopers to shoot them in good order. Then they were in the room. Troopers were fanning out around them and looking at the next door. Damian lifted his own hand up and stopped Master Voidstalker from spearheading the next breach.

With the force Damian clung to the wall and moved up above the doorway on the inside. He planted a bit of detonite with a sprinkling of plasticene thermite gel on the ceiling above the doorway. He labeled the detonator at his side II and then placed it on his belt.

Hand signals followed as troopers began to stack up on the door. A simple breaching charge was erected over the hatchway. Ducking to the side Damian detonated the shaped charge sending the door flying off its hinges and bursting into pieces. “A really big hole….” he said with a smile. Damian loved to blow things up. Two thermal detonators rolled in front of the door. Damian for his part used the force and flung them around the corner into the room.

Explosions followed. Damian stood up and rushed into the room, using the disorienting light and sound to his advantage. A peice of shrapnel bounced of his Echani shield and with blaster pistol in hand he dispatched the sith soldiers inside. “The room is clear Master Voidstalker.”

His eyes narrowed as he looked at the next room.

Damian was never great at the whole Jedi thing, but even could sense that Jacen was running toward something. A frown formed on his face as he did a quick equipment check. He only had a little bit of detonite left, enough for maybe one more big boom, and a single laser inhibiting smoke grenade. More thermite gel was available though, and in a pinch he knew he could achieve a lot with it. His mind went straight to the memory of blowing up [member="Darth Vornskr"] and a satisfied little smirk overcame his face.

Calm, find your center. That’s what Kana would tell him. Mentally he imagined his center, two inches into his body and three above the naval. He’d never get why he had to imagine that piece of skin to calm down and yet it worked. “Should we have the troopers hold back in the previous room master?” he asked. If Jacen was running towards something Damian had to believe it could only mean trouble.

Kaile... was not normally not the sort to come into fray.

However, there was some slicing to be done and she needed to see if she could help out. This was someone else's job. But she got a frantic call after Luii, the assigned techie, came down with the Neimoidian flu. With fluids coming out of both ends, it was now up to Kaile to help.

So, while the front line went in to distract and interact with the would be Sith in the first wave, Kaile would come up the rear. She had the Zerek stowaway mode activated, which concealed her from other life signs detectors, and provides limited protection against hearing.

Not to mention, she had Bobo with her in her pack, making her a fuzzy Force Null area. No one here! No siree!

All she needed to do was get to the generators...

"I can't believe I was crazy enough to come along on this," Taeli sighed as she followed the GA forces advancing into the old bunker. She could feel the dark side cloying at her, the experiments that had been done within the confines on Sithspawn creating an aura of darkness about the place. When she had learned the GA was launching the invasion of the One Sith with an assault on Lujo, she had volunteered to go along and help.

She knew plenty about what might have occurred here, being a former Sith alchemist and sorceress, so the experiments within would need to be destroyed ... along with any Sith that stood in their way. Clad in the Jedi Shade robes and with her lightsabers equipped, she followed and wondered just who or what she might face inside with her allies.

Kentarch remained unfazed as Mythos confronted him. "I'm not here for anyone." The Sith Lord stated. "So try and save your anger for the Jedi."

He turned away from Mythos, focusing on the approach of enemy. Kentarch was searching for a particular Jedi, Thurion Heavenshield. And in an act an of vengeance he would kill his wife. It was the least Kentarch could do for Ferus. "We wait here. Let them come to us." He said pointing to the floor above them. "There here." As the Silver Jedi smashed through the floor in the room in front of the Sith, Kentarch vanished into thin air using force cloak. Well that was subtle, Kentarch thought. Thanks to the lack discretion, Mythos and Kentarch now knew where their enemies were coming from. The Sith positioned himself against the wall, so the threshold to the hallway was straight ahead of him. An ambush would end this quickly.

Mythos stood in the middle of the room a few steps from the falling stairway with his hand crossed in front of his chest.

He came packed with a small sith arsenal: A strap across his back sported two crossed weapons; the Axe of Adas and the Rudis of the Darklord, sheathed in a leather pouch in his left boot was the blade of Satvas given to him by [member="Sage Bane"], under his right wrist the hidden blade of the sith assassins and across his belt his two songsteel lightsabers were strapped and neatly secured.

The response the Sith Lord gave him was as was expected for someone with as little loyalty and dedication as he measured him to be. He was going to respond in kind, yet the blast of durasteel in the next room brought Mythos' attention elsewhere. Instinctively he reached for the axe on his back and focused his eyes on the two signatures of power that he was feeling. "Jedi..." Mythos murmured under his voice, his eyes flashing with the expectation of battle. Unlike Kentarch Mythos had no idea who he was facing or what he was up against in any measure.

He did not hide in the shadows and instead stood front and center in the room gathering the force as he closed his eyes. The cleave of enemies on the way down had warmed his body and muscles to combat yet he did not want to strain himself or his stamina with this particular measure of powerful opponents lumbering about. He decided to draw them to him... In a simple invitation through the force.

Around Mythos the darkside of the force began to gather, the twisting rushing dark energy pulsated like a beating heart as he closed his eyes and meditated. He called to the next room the rough the force and prodded the minds of his enemies to come to them. Mythos was not hiding, he would face this Jedi duo, whoever they may be, head on and with honor. Some Sith would do anything for victory, Mythos would only have a victory if it was worth remembering... The Valthris crystal was beating in his body, the axe on his back, almost with a mind of it's own called for violence...

"Let them come..."

Lujo seemed rather quiet - the transports had gone down, and he was getting readings from the Alliance, but so far nothing had come their way. Was the Sith waiting for the flies to touch upon their dark web, or had their attention been distracted on the ground? He was surprised no fleet had moved yet, but this was making it both rather easy but also more dangerous as they were obviously watching and waiting.

About to speak to the others, coms were unusually quiet, and so he sighed in amusement to himself and drummed his fingers on the yolk of the T-70 to a catchy tune he'd heard in the Alliance base on Sullust.

Dax maintained his steady pace alongside the Defender, s-foils closed and eyes open, ready to escort transports to the surface or protect those fleeing.

That foul smell, the stench of death and malignant persistence. That inclement intent, ethereal fingernails clawing at the cushioned coffin panels, cracking open the wood to see the curtain of firelight cut inward. Something toxic hidden away, earth fresh above the casket, handles still wet from the blood that delivered it to ground. He could feel the growing presence within this place, catacombs for all but one. The resolve and purpose, backs broken to deliver free this ground, it cast a long gaze. The sort planned for lifetimes, a cycle on endless loop.

The smog lifted in wispy tails, licking at the empty air before being dragged down into the fold once more, grey succumbing to a greater purpose. Brown eyes watched each step as he moved, ignorant to those that might follow in the madness of his wake. Into the mouth of madness, he stepped cautiously and with care, eyes drifting from steps to slaves and servants. Howls and banter, scattering like whispering echoes, grew in decibels to confirm his path was proper. But even so, the force now held his arm, bracing against the stifling world that welcomed him without even the slightest inkling of resistance. A cut in the flesh, the hard breath that pulls the air in, he fell down the throat to see what might bleed out.

The narrow canal widened into a grand berth, stone columns of obsidian and inconceivable geometry. Loose flesh, tattered and stretched so thin that light might pass threw, marked the words of old and ancient incantations. Eyes lifted towards the flags and banners, taking in the inherent design without fulling understanding the beams that supported it. But what time he might have had to decipher it's purpose, that time was tossed away for the immediate danger presented by the refocus of servants of the dark. A sepulcher, gaudy speaker proclaiming in vile tongue, he turned his attention to Gabriel and those who had followed him.

Blood poured out from the rancor hilt as he gripped it, cone of an ancient blood diamond kissed the fog. Swirls of smoke came upward, wrapping around the beam invitingly, as he stood in defiance of whatever machinations were currently under way. Before these assailants could have their way, he made his own prophecy with an accusingly pointed beam. Lifted towards the columns, the origin of this omni-directional voice, he narrowed his eyes. "The Alliance will stomp you out. And your master...he will follow quickly behind you. Your time is up."

From the right, a cloaked figure jumped towards him. And with a flick of the lightsaber, he raked across the chest with red bladed beam, nearly cleaving the disciple in two. Another jumped from behind, he spun just in time to release a hard force push, sending him into banner and stone. Twirling the beam, he charged towards the heart of this necropolis.

He was a bit glad the filter in his mask made sure he didn't smell the sickening charred Twi'lek he had left behind in his wake as he stood before the durasteel door in front of him. He could see through it a fire team of GADF soldiers waited on the other side and as he turned his head back to the dead Twi'lek he wiped his hand and brought her comling to his hand. "Dag?... Dagmihe come in, this is Lieutenant Lenroff! We are on the other side of the door have you sliced it open yet? If you can't use the breaching charge we gave you." 'Oh so this is her commanding officer... interesting...' Erebos thought as he looked back through the door and towards the soldiers raising his hand towards them aiming for the thermal detonators on their belts. "Dagmihe can't come to the com right now." He teasingly said into the comlink as he activated the thermal detonators on their belts, he enjoyed the panic that set into a few of the ones that had their detonators activated. "But don't worry you'll join her shortly." He then said and smiled under his mask as the detonators exploded, leaving only parts and charred remains in the wake of the fiery explosion.
Hearing the clatter of boots behind him he turned around and lightning snapped from his fingers as he was ready to strike but at the panicked raising of hands by the sith trooper captain coming up the stairs gave him pause. "Please my lord don't!" He half shrieked as he then seemed to relax as Erebos took a neutral stance, at that point Erebos could hear the sigh of relief from the captain. "Who are you?" Erebos asked as the captain came fully up the stairs and headed towards him to salute, behind him came at least two squads of Sith troopers. "Captain Staves, my lord, Third Lujo Regiment. We came as soon as we saw the charred path you left in your wake my lord we thought we could tip the odds in your favor." He said after removing his helmet and saluting while stating his name, he had just let the last word out of his mouth when all color ran from his face as Erebos leaned in to have his faceless mask directly in front of the trooper. "You what?" He said in a tone that visibly sent a cold sweat down not only the captains but most of his men's backs as well.
"I-I'm sorry my lord I meant no disrespect but I know that you can't stand against jedi and soldiers at the same time..." He weakly and quite meekly responded in an obvious effort not to be struck down by Erebos right then and there, who only leaned back and stood almost a head taller than the captain. "Don't presume what I can and cannot do..." Erebos then said in a venomous tone before he looked behind him at the door or rather through it. "Though given what I might face on the other side of this door... I'll command you against it. Your mission will be two fold, first priority will be to end the Republic soldier the second is much easier. There is a pudgy little padawan running after the knight and master coming to us, Capture him." He said as his tone gave away the sneer behind the mask.
With a few more commands he walked away as he allowed the troopers to begin cutting randomly into the door to make it into pieces but still stand. While they did this he moved to the dead Twi'lek and removed her breaching charge. "Seems you had some use after all." He muttered as he held the detonator for the charge in one hand and then placed the charge on the biggest piece of the cut up door, then he took a few steps back and raised his hand up towards the door.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzbJMCSfcPY

What came next could be described as a nightmare by some of the troopers, on either side. The door flew forwards and erupted into small and white hot edged pieces all over the room and as the larges piece reached the middle of the room it erupted into an explosion. Then as the smoke hadn't even dissipated blasters sprang forth and whizzed in every direction from the door as Erebos stepped out and on either side of him troopers poured out and hurried to take up defensive positions.
In the middle of all of this Erebos walked with purpose in his pace the knight in this room would face him either as a man or die a coward. Taking out his grossguard Lightsaber he turned on the black cored crimson hued saber and used it to deflect any blaster shot headed towards him as he seemed almost mindless in his quest to meet a foe in combat. Then he stopped and let loose a torrent of red force lightning into a trooper and the damn thing began to search out other troopers after striking the first one, the chain lightning sowed a little terror in Erebos's own troops as it didn't discriminate after striking three republic soldiers it went after two sith troopers and their shrieks only added to the crescendo of blaster fire and horrified screams of pain.
Erebos was a needle point in all of this, his mind sharp and focused, not burdened by emotions while he fed on his own emotions like most other sith his mind never changed or was influenced by them and he was also feeding of the fear, anger and rage in this facility as well. It was like standing in darkside nexus for him though he had never gone to one only read about them but right here and now he had never felt more powerful. Raising his saber to point towards the knight he shouted his challenge. "IF you are man enough to face me jedi then come! or forever be marked as a coward!"

Just as the last soul was sucked into the legendary blade and blood drained into the pit, did Braxus sigh in relief. A power was coming towards the Cairn, there were several powers heading to this location. He had one advantage others couldn't hope to have, Braxus could feel the very essence of the approaching Jedi, like shining beacons in the sea of dark side energies that saturated the entire area. Most Sith may be afraid, terrified even to have such powerful forces of the light approaching, but Braxus was not one of those people. The Anzati inhaled deeply and briefly shut his eyes "Mmm..I can feel your heart beat...your connection to the force is strong.." He said as he knelt down to the ground towards the exit, the tip of Derriphan touching the ground in front of him, Braxus kept his eyes closed and tightly gripped the hilt of the Holy Blade, calmly and loudly reciting a prayer he had done so many times before, a hypnotic lull forming in his voice.

"Oh God-King, hear my cry:
Guide me through the blackest nights
Steel my heart against the temptations of the wicked
Make me to rest in your light. "
Braxus first opened his mind up to the dark side and transformed all of his emotions into hatred and anger, feeding the flames of the dark side that flowed through him so easily here. It was easy to fan the flames, especially with the very presence of the Jedi interlopers, thinking they could try and ruin the plans of a god, the gall. Today was a reckoning for not only this world but many others in the galaxy, a dark scourge left the galaxy with Darth Vornskr's passing, the Butcher-Kings death celebrated by his adversaries and victims thinking they finally got the closure they wanted. But Darth Vornskr was no man, he was no paltry Sith Lord, he was a god in mortal form, a being whose spiritual existence in defiance of the force, a refusal to enter the netherworld. The Black-Iron Tyrant was once more returning to this world, death and destruction his weapons, the dark side his chariot, and the sounds of battle to herald his coming.

"My God-King, judge me whole:
Find me well within Your grace
Touch me with fire that I be cleansed
Tell me I have sung to Your approval"

The Dark Herald recited loudly, his pride swelling as each verse of the Declaration of Faith spilled from his mouth. Braxus then opened up his body to the power of the dark side, letting the storm gathering around him reverbate through his entire body as it linked up with his mind. He reached out through the Cairn to its hidden chambers deep in the back, to the group of Seers that came with Braxus, the men who would wield the Sentinels like weapons at the whims of the Herald. Under no circumstances could the Jedi get past their wall and disrupt the ritual. Eight of the sentinels took steps back behind Braxus while two of them remained at the kneeling man's side.

"Oh God-King, see me kneel:
For I walk only where You would bid me
Stand only in places You have blessed
Sing only the words You place in my throat"

The Declaration of Faith sent surges of cloaked acolytes out of the darkness towards [member="Gabriel Sionoma"]. This was their holy mission, to live and now die in the name of their God. The God-King called for their deaths, no he commanded their deaths so that his resurrection could be complete. Braxus opened his eyes and stared the approaching man dead in his own with a predatory gaze, like a predator eyeing his next prey. The Jedi was in over his head, his arrogance winning over rationality, the gall to think he could enter during the midst of such a holy ritual and claim victory was assured so easily.

"God-King, hear my cry:
Seat me by Your side in death
Make me one within Your glory
And let the world once more see Your favor"

Braxus stood up, gripping the hand and a half Derriphan in hand as he stared down the charging Jedi. "For You are the fire at the heart of the world. And comfort is only Yours to give." He finished, throwing his hand out and sending a burst of blue cackling lightning towards the man.

Soeht continued to watch the ceremony. The smell of pungent blood filled the cavern. Just as [member="Gabriel Sionoma"] entered the cavern, Soeht unclipped a lightsaber hilt from his hip. [member="Braxus Zambrano"] gave the command. Cloaked acolytes rushed toward Gabriel and his party, including [member="Mira Rekali"] and [member="Kail Myn"].

Technically, Soeht would count as a “cloaked acolyte,” and would follow behind the rest. Despite their zealous fervor though, the acolytes in front of Soeht might not be proven as much hindrance against trained Jedi.

To Braxus and the rest of the One Sith, Soeht had neither a Darth name nor Mark.

Yet Soeht confidently stood before the party of Jedi pushing into the cavern. The air might have felt cold to those near him. He stopped advancing after he got roughly twenty meters from Gabriel and his party.

A blue light washed over Soeht’s body. If it were not for the cold sensation, Mira (if she followed Gabriel into the cavern) would have clearly been able to see and recognize Soeht’s figure in this small respite from the cavern’s dim lighting.

As Braxus attacked Gabriel, Soeht took a second lightsaber hilt out - placing it in his other hand. However, he only ignited the lightsaber in his right hand. A crackling, chaotic beam shot out - not organized and humming like a typical lightsaber. Short, few inch long cross guard blades shot out at the top of the hilt - making a three-pronged saber.

Now, a crimson shade mixed with the blue light.

For the group of Jedi to advance, they would have to pass through Soeht.

Poy kept her X-Wing next to the Galactic Alliance dropship and it was her duty to make sure that the troopers inside made it safely down to the surface of the planet, where they would engage the Sith in combat and become victorious.

Although she did not like escort duties, she preferred dogfighting against the Sith, it was the task that was seen to be equally important. R2-Q2 beeped his displeasure with not being in combat, so the Twi’lek tried to reason with him.

“Calm down buddy. We will be in combat soon. We just have to make sure the dropships get through and that the troopers land safely...” R2-Q2 beeped that he was sorry for being so impatient, but Poy told him not to worry about it.

Looking all around her, Poy could see ships as far as her eyes could see. This was definitely the largest operation she had been a part of since re-enlisting with the Galactic Alliance Navy as an X-Wing pilot with Black Squadron.

Jareb strode through the corridors of the vast Star Defender down to his docking bay. The cruiser was full of bustle as flight crews and combat-ready soldiers jogged orderly throughout the halls and the ship's comm system called out orders in a soothing automated voice.

"Pilot's please report to your stations. We will be arriving in orbit above Lujo in two minutes and thirty-seven seconds."

Jareb shuffled around in his flight suit and absently tugged at a tightening strap on his harness as he walked into the hangar. The sounds in the room bounced and reverberated against it's high ceilings as hydrospanners clattered against the metal floor, coolant exhaust steamed out of the backs of X-Wings, and astromech droids swiveled and rolled to their stations. Jareb grinned as he spotted his own spherical astromech, BD-3, whirring harshly as an Ithorian technician inspected Jareb's ship.

"You taking care of my ship Sul'both?" Jareb gave the alien a friendly slap on the arm.

"Your droid says you don't want my torpedos." The Ithorian mumbled in his language. Luckily Jareb had a knack for picking up alien dialects quickly, and he'd known Sul'both for a while. He'd learned a lot of languages at the academy on Corellia.

"No sir, I'm sticking with my concussion missiles thank you." He replied, giving Bee Dee a happy nod. Leaving his memory unwiped had been beneficial after all. "Thanks for the help though" he said clambering up the ladder into his T-85 X-Wing starfighter and securing on his crash helmet. He stared forward, out the ray shield and into the empty space beyond. There was an enemy fleet out there just waiting for a pounding, and Jareb couldn't wait to help his fellows in the Galactic Alliance capture the planet Lujo. He could feel in his gut that today was going to be a good day. Jareb always trusted his gut.

"This is pilot Jareb Kaine checking in. I'm locked, loaded and ready for take off. Over."
