Casus Belli (Tygaran Alliance/Galactic Alliance vs First Order Rebellion of Kaeshana)

Wandering Naval Officer
---------------------------------------------------
Objective: Engage Alliance Naval Forces
Location: Orbit over Kaeshana
Allies: First Order, [member="Carlyle Rausgeber"]
Enemies: GA and their Allies, [member="Vilin"]

"Sir fighters inbound on our position. Also the Subjugator is taking fire."
Aran just stood there not even flinching the defensive armament of the Resurgent would pick off many fighters against her, plus adding the defensive power of the denials and daggers it was like hell on earth for them. All Aran could do is just shake his head at the waste of man power and the lack of care the Alliance put into their pilots. A very audible sigh could be heard from the Commander as he felt bad for all those pilots lost in the attack run, though they were the enemy it still pained Aran to send so many to an early grave.
"Halsey status of the Subjugator? As well as our shields."
"Subjugator's at 61% and ours are holding at 65% and we have lost gun batteries 24B 65F and 18G."
"Good, deploy all 144 starfighters to attack the Trimiran on our starboard, have the Subjugator bring her shields down then target and destroy those escorts."
"Aye Commander, speaking of escorts, ours are taking fire as well, one denial shields at 52% and another is at 65%."
"That's fine for now, they will have to cope with it."
The Stoic being so close to the Indomitable made her fighter escorts easy pickings for the denials, daggers and the defensive weaponry of the Resurgent. This left a great opening for the fighters of the Indomitable, to make missile, and magpulse runs on the bridge. The hits kept coming and rocked the Indomitable but it would just be a fly in the ointment.
"Sir one of the denials is picking up some weird sensor readings directing to our bow...."
Aran let out a slight scoff, shook his head in disgust. It could be something, it could be nothing, Aran wasn't sure, but he did know the Alliance did have stealth ships, so he would assume it was until it was confirmed it is nothing. He could help think to himself that the Alliance couldn't win the fight in a stand up way if it was a stealth ship, but if that is how they fought that is how they fought. He could do nothing to change it.
All he could do for now is just watch the onslaught hammer the reserve fleet, and his port side gun rip into the command ship of the fleet he was sent to ambush.
1x Resurgent Class, FIV Indomitable Broadside attacking both the original fleet, and the reserve that has shown up. Targeting Vilin's Command Ship, and Thranta in the Primary fleet, Targeting Hammerheads in Reserve fleet. Deployed fighters to attack Stoic (Minor Engine damage, shields holding, loss of some gun batteries.)
1xVictory X FIV Subjugator Engaging the Stoic from a broadside (Taking fight but shields holding for now).
3x Denial Class Escorts Set to engage any fighters/bombers that make runs on the cruiser, and Resurgent. Turned on their EWAR to prevent jamming . (One sustained damage. One taking shield damage as well)
2x Dagger Class Escorts Formed up near the Resurgent to prevent bombing runs. Turned on EWAR to prevent jamming

Tanks... well he'd dealt with worse before. All the information sent to him said they were about 7km from the action which was being led by [member="Ludolf Vaas"]. He was alone, but that shouldn't be a problem. Normally Jaron hated to use explosive devices, grenades, distractive tactics, but today he could deal with it. He had a couple of combat droids that could provide him the cover he needed to deal with the tanks. A couple of thermal detonators on each tank, or a sticky bomb on the motor would do just fine. This was the part where Jaron was going to be a bit more like the sentinel his uncle had been training him to be.

It was time for a wardrobe change. As the autopilot took the ship behind enemy lines, the cloak still engaged, he changed into an old set of Jedi looking clothes he still had for missions just like this. Why take the direct approach when his face was unknown to the enemy, and he still had his blue light saber from his good boy days. Jaron smirked at the idea as he slipped a bandolier of thermal detonators across his chest. It was time to look like the sentinel he was before the dark side had wooed him away.

The droids were programmed to follow Jaron, and he made no waste of time engaging the tanks. All he had to do was walk not the fray as he was a "Jedi." His aura was tainted, but the Galactic Alliance was full of force users who were tainted. They were killers, and they killed dark side users. They were no better than those they killed and Jaron didn't mind destroying them. He might get found out, but Jaron moved toward the tanks. The first thermal detonator was placed, and so on. The droids were hiding in cover in case Jaron had to call them in. As long as he didn't get caught placing the detonators he would be fine. He was one of them after all.

Each tank had a detonator on it. Once he pressed the button his cover would be blown, but he was going to anyway. The Ren moved back to where his droids were. Pulling out the remote detonator, Jaron pressed the button. It was going to draw attention, and he was going to be in for a fight. Still the explosion would let Ludolf know the Jaron had done what was asked. Jaron's problem was getting out of enemy lines.

I must have hit the Sith, because he immediately slips into a room along the passageway and out of my line of fire. My experience with Sith is limited, but on Atrisia they made a habit of charging at me and swinging laser swords. I take knee and stare down the sights at the doorway, waiting for the hostile to emerge.

Thunk.

A cylindrical object zips out of the doorway and rebounds off the bulkhead and into the floor just in front of me. Synapses fire at superhuman speed through my synthetic neural web. My brain thinks flash bang a full second before the grenade goes off. Heat, light, and noise wash over me. If not for my helmet, I'd be blind, deaf, and at the mercy of the Sith. Instead, anti-flash polarizing lenses darken my visor. The light is irritating, but not blinding. The noise is oppressive, but not destructive. I can feel the heat from the grenade, but I'm not burned.

It seems like every minute I am in battle I rack up more debts to the SpaceOps scientists. But I don't have time to dwell on the number of times I should have died by now.

The Darth comes out from his hole shooting. I try to hunch down, but a bolt of plasma smacks me in the shoulder and twists me to the side. Even through the helmet filtration I can smell the stench of burning plastic. He's still shooting.

With one hand I reach down to my belt, while with the other I hold the carbine and return fire as best I can. Click. L.I.S. grenade comes away from the harness. I prime it, then roll it a few meters in front of me. The non-lethal explodes in a spray of sparks, then blue smoke spews out in a choking fog. The enclosed space of the passageway means it will not dissipate quickly.

The laser inhibiting smoke grenade, or L.I.S. for short, was designed to neutralize the effectiveness of blaster or laser based weaponry while simultaneously providing a screen against unenhanced vision. Plasma bolts passing through the smoke lose their effectiveness and feel like a punch, instead of punching through you.

Standard boarding tactics for Alliance SpaceOps. It's why we carry sonic carbines instead of blasters.

Hopefully it works as advertised.

Thou Shalt Kill

The pressure evaporated from around his legs, yet the pain still pulsated within. He anticipated that every step from now on would be painful, at least until he could have his doctors fix him up, but he would not let such pain cripple him. He would turn this pain into fuel for his power, just another facet to draw strength from. He steadied himself for the next round, the Force swelling around his being even as his loyal Crownguard launched themselves into action to fight against Siobhan's minions and the Graycloak, lightsabers twirling as battle was joined. This was the Sith Lord's true domain, that of the battle and the endless cacophony of war that pervaded the blood-laden air. Blades clashed against blades, and high caliber slug rounds sung through the air to pulp muscle and shatter bone, all the while the Dark Lord drank in deeply of the suffering and the struggle.

He stalked toward his opponent, who had likewise collected herself from their previous scuffle and let loose a concussive wall of energy that barreled towards the Sith Lord like a battering ram. He raised a shield to mitigate the damage, but even then he was still pushed back as the effects of the blast reverberated through his core and rattled his bones. His knees bent as he pushed against the Force, his feet rending great gorges into the dry earth as he slid back several meters before finally pushing through and overcoming the wave. The cloak that had shrouded his armor was now left in tatters, pieces of zeyd-cloth clinging to the armor plating like loose scraps of flesh. With a roll of his shoulders he sent them scattering, and rose back up to stare Siobhan down as he activated his weapons in conjunction with her own.

"You should know that in war one must stack the odds in his favor to achieve victory."

He propelled himself forward with the Force, easily closing the distance between them in a single bound as he swung both of his lightsabers together at her upper body in tandem with one another.

Chit... was all Leo could get out before the Sith turned and drove the speeder into the ashen ground. Thank god, god being [member="Kami Meran"] that this thing was essentially a mini-tank. The speeder tipped forward, the abrupt collision flipping the speeder high into the air. yeah, really should've taken then time to think. Leo managed before he was flung from the vehicle, colliding into a nearby wall. The other marines weren't so lucky, through a dazed vision, Leo could still see their limp bodies hanging from his speeder.

Thank god for Nexu armor, god once again being [member="Kami Meran"], that woman seems to have saved his life more times than he has. No major damage from the impact, probably a concussion, but that wasn't gonna stop Leo from standing up and soldering on... and proceeding to fall right back down again. Alright man, balance yourself this time.. you idiot. With a brief groan, Leo was back on his feet and moving towards the wreckage, the speeder was mostly intact, in part thanks to the materials of its make, but would still require repairs. For right now it was out of commission.

The battle still raged on around him, and Dax was now on the ground, a bit worse fir wear. Leo drew his Westar and opened fire on the FO troopers, it wasn't the best gun, but he was a good shot, aiming for the weaker sections of their armor and taking a couple down before making his way over to [member="Dax Fyre"]. "Hey buddy." Leo said in his charming demeanor, "Let's get you outta here." With that, Leo called out for a medic, what? he wasn't gonna lift the guy himself... A medical officer of some sort rushed over and saw the condition he was in, "Get him to some secure area, help him however you can. I'm going after the Sith." The latter part was addressed more towards Dax, and yes, it WAS a stupid idea, but Leo didn't really have a lot of time to plan...

Between the time of her air group coming into range of citadel airspace, and the GA scrambling assets for a response, she had a window to appraise the defences of the rear echelon as tracking sensors turned in her direction. Using Hydra, each ship of her group functioned as a node to build a clear picture of the battlespace for the cyborg and her analysts aboard the Shaadlar and LSRs. It was a great force multiplier when dealing with a numerically superior foe like the GA, well known for putting those numbers to use for swarm tactics.

Lots of armor, artillery, and infantry but no theatre shield to protect them from what she could tell. They had just signed their death warrant with that oversight. She had come in expecting to have to throw the bulk of her troops at attacking Alliance forces under some kind of shielding, but this revelation meant she could immediately direct them against the GA's front lines from the back once on station.

"Begin troop deployment. Good luck, and have fun my lovelies!"

There were cheers across comms as the Mandalorians had finally had a real challenge on their hands. No more rebel scum, just real Alliance soldiers.

The bay doors opened, then Yinchorri mercenaries would begin to jump right out into the air. As they wore armor equipped with inbuilt flight systems, Face didn't have to worry about forcing her troopships into a vulnerable static position on the ground. She would still be able to use them to wail on enemy ground positions along with everyone else. There would be long lines of mercenaries stretching several kilometres as they righted themselves in the air and began to follow the Tekkadan ships.

Enemy K-Wings appeared, and the fighter escort above the troopships, bombers, and Basilisk would react by greeting them with an opening salvo of proton torpedos, concussion missiles (set for proximity airburst), and laser fire. The Shaadlar would open up against the K-Wings with fire from their ion batteries. Meant to take down more nimble starships, the point defense turrets had an easy time tracking the cumbersome assault fighters as they fixated on the troopships. Shaadlar also launched their own compliment of concussion missiles defensively against the K-Wing missile attacks, the missiles set on airburst to destroy the incoming missiles by slamming them with shockwaves produced as they detonated within the atmosphere. Y-Bombers around the troopships also railed against the K-Wings with their rapid-fire blasters, also made for axing starfighters. Altogether, much of the formation had just delivered a wallop to the lone K-Wing squadron with a multi-vector attack consisting of directed energy weapons and missiles.

About the same, time enemy, armor opened fire, also focused on the Shaadlar and Basilisk. A-Wings engaged their phantom jammers to scramble the enemy armors' sensors with deceptive jamming while reducing their own signature to avoid detection within the large formation. Shaadlar shrugged through the relatively light laser fire meant to take down much smaller and lighter vehicles, while providing coverage to the basilisk shooting another salvo of concussion missiles to intercept opposing missiles and rockets.

While defending themselves and the Basilisk, the Shaadlar rained down on the enemy armor with their turbolaser turrets. Tanks could be destroyed by a volley of laser fire from a single X-wing, so a stream of turbolaser bolts would probably be leaving molten craters upon impact, and all six Shaadlar were now firing on them. Basilisk riders themselves took evasive manoeuvres, while almost hugging the terrain to avoid direct fire from energy weapons and slip under the sensor ceiling of (hopefully jammed) targeting sensors for missiles weapons. Some were still hit (6), but this tactic kept most of the riders out of trouble.

Y-Wings followed up on the Shaadlar's attack with sustained fire from particle cannons against enemy armor and troop concentrations. Particle cannons were nasty little weapons that fired beams that would disperse upon impact for awesome splash damage. From their flex tubes, they collectively launched about half their payload of Hornets (20 Hornets replacing 20 proton bombs), filling the air with over two hundred deadly smart munitions.

Like vultures, they would begin circling above the mass of enemy armour and artillery, then dove to deliver a high-speed top attack as they acquired targets. Made to be a fully autonomous system, Y-Wing pilots could quickly shift focus on other things after the Hornets' initial deployment. Face knew the capabilities of those dated Hydra AA-tanks covering the other armor and artillery. They made for poor anti-ballistic defense, even under the best conditions, and now they were being bombarded by jamming to further reduce their effectiveness.

Between the combined attacks of the Shaadlar, Y-Wings, and Hornets, she was looking to inflict lots of catastrophic (K) kills, but even mobility (M) kills would work for her. That would leave them vulnerable for a swift followup by incoming Basilisk riders and airborne troops.

As she had hoped, her appearance had the effect of baiting away other Alliance air assets from the battle closer to the Citadel's front lines to engage her formation. But it was too little too late. The fact that she had been allowed to get close enough to exchange fire with ground vehicles pretty much just doomed the Alliance's rear.

The Shaadlar let off another round of concussion missiles against incoming salvo coming from behind by enemy Y-Wings. The top-most squadron of Fangs made quick snap-turns into the Y-Wings to rake them with laser fire, then followed up with proton missiles and more sustained laser fire as they positioned themselves behind the bombers to either eliminate or chase off the enemy Y-Wings as the Shaadlar completed their deployments. Some, Tekkadan Y-Wings, freed up to take more offensive action against enemy airpower, taking shots at the enemy Y-Wings as they flew past.

The overpowered intruder torpedoes were all successfully intercepted, but three Shaadlars took some hits from the dumb-fire proton rockets. Two Shaadlar took some significant damage to its rear, affecting manoeuvrability, and several troops were killed from the resulting explosion of the rockets impacting the shields.

Yet another enemy formation appeared, firing through the formation of Fangs and A-Wings at the ships below them. The other two squadrons of Fangs turned up to meet this new threat. Y-Wings joined the fray, firing their turrets as a defensive measure and to limit the incoming fighters mobility while Fangs positioned to eliminate them.

Jamming was detected, but with all the ships using Hydra, this wasn't much an issue. All it did was serve to light up the jamming craft like life-day trees as some Fangs switched to detecting the raw energy emissions of the jammers to use as a becacon for targeting. The GA was making this easy.

One LSR took a microjump to send itself to the darkside of Isiantar to transmit updates to the Tekkadan fleet. Shockley, acting commander, took one look at update of the GA conjuring up more junk at the Citadel, then issued orders for a new wave of reinforcements for Face down on Kaeshana. He was playing it safe and making sure his boss was adequately covered.

Troops flying along near the surface began firing their launchers (~200 missiles) at the enemy vehicles. Plex launchers were an effective standoff platform, as special weapons teams could fire their launchers from a safe distance of up to 40km, without having to worry about retaliation. As many of the craft were repulsor vehicles, the GAM feature had an easy time locking onto their mass shadows. Using gravity based tracking, standard countermeasures like chaff or flares would be ineffective.

That was only the beginning. She had successfully tied up a ton of GA airpower while her troops had free reign to wipe out everything on the ground. At this point, her fighters and basilisk didn't have to do much but keep their new Alliance friends busy as the real work began.

The Shaadlars were currently holding against the Alliance's dogpile, but were running low on missiles Once they were out, they would have a much harder time defending themselves and become more of a liability than asset. They had done their job, coughing out enough troops (3,500) to make a difference.

"We made it, good job! Mythos (Shaadlar) prepare to pull out with Vulture (Fang Squad) covering. Phantoms (A-Wings) shift focus to air superiority. Give our GA friends in the air a taste of the jamming fun."

There was another cheer, just about everyone having the time of their lives, Face included. The was little thrill like that of mortal combat as it carried the ultimate stakes between glory (and fat bonuses) and death.

OOC Note: All soldiers and pilots aside from Face are Yinchorri Mandalorians. Face herself is protected by a Ysalamir. They remain unaffected by Nima's illusions and are currently unaware of said magicking taking place.

If I missed anyone, sorry not intentional. Wasn't expecting so much love. <3

There was a rhythm to it.

A kind of music and whisper to the tune, as Sardun moved around and caused destruction on a wide-scale. It was that same interference that tipped him off that things were about to get very bad. In the distance he could see the fire in the sky move slowly towards him... and towards Aeron. Who finally managed to bring down the Sabercat.

The Jedi Master cursed under his breath, before pivoting across the burning wreck of a ruined tank and towards Aeron whose focus was elsewhere.

Probably gloating about the Sabercat.

Gorram sabercat.

"Prex, duck please." It was gonna be difficult enough to shield himself against that raging firestorm, but if there was also Kreelan, they'd have to make the shield as small as possible to be effective. He'd raise himself to full length, bowing over her and exerting his strength within the Force.

A blue shine appeared only mere seconds later over them.

Then the bombardment hit.

Everything turned to kark.

[member="Darth Carnifex"], [member="HK-36"]

Carnifex rebounded and launched himself at her once more, after being battered by her invisible wall of concussive energy. Having faced the Sith Lord's might on the blood-soaked battlefields of Wayland and Contruum, she would not have expected anything less. The air around both combatants was thick and corrupted as both drew upon the Dark Side of the Force to fuel themselves and drive their body to lengths far beyond the human norm. Both of them were warlords, objects of cults of personality and commanders of legions who idolised them and were ready to follow them unto death.

Two ruby blades swept towards her upper body, moving in perfect sync. Amidst all the chaos, the clash of blade upon blade, blasterfire and explosions, Siobhan was the eye in the storm, undistracted and undisturbed by the slaughter that took place all around her. There was only her, Kaine and the infinite stream of the great river that was the Force.

When the Butcher-King launched himself at her like a human battering ram, her boots took one step back. One of the lightsabres hit her beskar armour, scorching it with crimson light but not penetrating it or otherwise hurting her when it made contact with the heavy plating. The other blade was swiftly intercepted by her own. Her burning orange sabre, held in a one-handed grip, did not move a milimetre more than necessary, parrying the blow with no more exertion than necessary and deflecting Kaine's weapon away from her body to the side.

Soresu was probably an unconventional style for a Dark Master, though at the same time the ancient Darth Zannah had favoured it. Originally founded upon the basic deflection skills all Jedi Padawans were taught to protect themselves against laser projectiles in a time when combat against blaster-wielders was more common than lightsabre duels, it was often accused of being so defence-focused that it was passive.

However, Siobhan did not have the fencer's mentality for an elegant style such as Makashi. Ataru required acrobatics her body could not perform and her armour would prohibit her from attempting. More to the point, she lacked the raw physical strength for Djem So. Her focus lay in using her Force prowess to become a force of nature. This made Soresu the perfect style for her, since physical strength was not an issue. It allowed her to be the fortress. Its defensive fixation was not an issue for her since her offensive strengths lay elsewhere anyway.

The Countess drew strength from her innermost being as the Force writhed inside her. Its intangible energies were unleashed in a surge of power when she launched a massive telekinetic punch directed against Kaine's masked face.

For the men and women of the Gundark Gunners, the sudden wave of delirium was something of a rude shock. Four troopers were unable to get a grip of their reality, and stumbled out of cover and into fire. Rexus however was used to this. Fear of Asharard Graush while hungover meant this feeling was very similar. Slumped down in a crater, Rexus took off his helmet, hyperventilating. He could see the troopers behind him, panicking as well. He needed to be strong, he needed to be fast. He needed to attack.

"Come on lads!" Rexus roared at the top of his lungs, standing up, but nearly tripping over. "Up and at 'em!" Rexus roared. The stormtroopers nodded, and began to peek out of cover, blasting away at the Alliance forces. "We live, or we die here!" Rexus roared, firing at another squad of GADF troops out of cover, "This will be the hill we live, or die on, and we will not die!" He bellowed.

Rexus looked behind him, and a stormtrooper gave him the go ahead to advance. The trooper began to fire at any Alliance forces advancing while Rexus ran out of cover, trying to get the flank on the enemy. He fired off three sonic blasts at the advancing forces, before diving for cover behind the dilapidated wreck of a GA tank. It was now the First Order's time to counter attack, and Rexus was gonna lead it.

The murderous savagery could not be accurately captured through dictum or of recorded documentation. These were not men fighting, not Eldorai, not a Klantooinan. It was a complete recidivism to an early age of evolution. That unappeasable sensation at the back of every living Organic's mind. That inert beast that few ever felt produce it's fangs to bite down and refuse it's own demise.

But [member="Pharazon Draken"], and his brave men of the 4th Platoon.

They could feel the grasp of that ancient animal now. They could taste the hunger to strive on and no thing else.

Pain became a preposterous notion, fragility of limb and body an absurd reflection for more evolved creatures, not for them to know. They were beasts now, they were monsters. Lamenting with unrestrained howls that drown out winter wind and distant stridency of a more Civilized War.

Snow became but slush and mud in the bloody souse beneath horrifying melee.

Inside the scrum, all words ceased to exist. Under plodding foot, and stumbling knee cries from the abjured were but muted whines, asphyxiating under weight of ally and enemy alike; Convulsing breaths heaving filthy gulps from squalid pools of blood, urine and the defecation of death and utter terror.

"KILLEE HUUO TYTUNG!!" The impressively large Slaver roared with destructive mania.

He slung his horrid blade suddenly, the first strike took a young Stormtrooper man on the side of the head, chopping great dredge in to skull and shaving a gruesome slab of flesh down the side of the mans face.

"Uuuaaarrrhhggll!" The unfortunate Soldier cried, tripping over an utterly brutalized Eldorai carcass, trying to press half of his face back in to place.

Xerrzyk struck him again, and again, then again!

Until head had been dissected from shoulders, teetering for what seemed an endless moment as the fallen hero twitched, then what few strands of flesh that had remained broke and tore there was but one more casualty left to thud the killing field.

"KILLYA E CHU TA!" The Klatooinian beckoned on, pausing to press foot to back of head on another poor individual that had stumbled over twisted limbs and jerking death rattles, smothering his face in to the muck below.

He watched as the writhing wave of extermination swept the entire square of the cross-roads. From this vantage there was absolutely no telling who held the upper-hand. He knew from a hard life, on the worst worlds in the Galaxy, that when the battle came to this. . . you merely kept swinging and killing until you were extinguished yourself, or you were battering the glint of life out of the last of your enemies eye.

Another Eldorai was sent to the afterlife.

His head was clobbered twice with stock of Blaster barrel, and when the weapon broke, two Soldier's took to pulverizing his skull with rock and chunk of duracrete until nothing remained but fleshy pulp and a corpse that ticked with rigid convulsion. Sandalphon seemed to be making progress with none in the mass of dissolution any the wiser to his presence.

Then finally, they were face to face.

Xerrzyk eyed [member="Pharazon Draken"] over with frightening contempt, both Man and Klatooinian wearing the gore of the hour on their vastly different garb. Then there was a sudden lunge, the heroic Lieutenant made the first move in this endgame. Xerrzyk retracted backwards as man move, stepping over two bodies before he kicked a cresting wave of carnage towards the Lieutenants face with the side of his foot, twisting his body to the right with skillful accuracy to avoid the darting bayonet that sought to end him.

"Tweepi!!" He taunted in his primary tongue. "Maee!" The Klatooinian commanded further, urging Pharazon to try again.

The storm around the approaching Yinchorri fleet started before Gold Squadron arrived, and it was a fire storm indeed. Lots of dogfights broiling around, infantry falling through the air. It was a mess. "All flights, this is our chance enemy fighters are heavily engaged with alliance forces. Short Range runs. One Flight, Target alpha, Two flight, beta. Three flight, gamma. Rakehell, if you got antipersonnel weapons, open up." Gold Leader's voice sound off the closed unit comlink and the double clicks of acknowledgement went through.

Laira breathed in, noticing her heart beat was elevated for the first time since she got started. She was opening up a rotary coilgun meant for anti-tank duty into infantry men. That was her assignment. She hadn't seen pieces of bodies before, but she was sure she would once she began her run on them as they fell, comparatively just fish in a barrel to a superiority fighter. Slow moving, low maneuverability. She had to tell herself they were still combatants. One of the rules of the air was you don't shoot parachutes, Rach had taught her that, but they weren't pilots leaping to safety, they were warriors diving straight to their deaths.

Gold leader broke through the clouds at maximum speed, coming up on the shaadlar's rear, the slow moving troop-transports had clear weaknesses. The rear was one of them, engines connected to reactors. The three flights of the Alliance veterans broke their cloud cover at a scream, waiting for as long as possible before dumping their payloads of Intruders missiles launched by the first two craft and Proton Rockets by the following two into the corvettes, ion cannon fire strafing through their fighter screens as the Y-Wings took the formation in the rear. It was risky, and they would take defensive fire from the Shaadlars going in, but it would be very difficult to intercept their ordnance.

Laira raced out in front of them swooping low, burning thrusters hard, remaining in stealth mode just to make it harder for the already heavily engaged enemy fighters to spot her. It was a lot harder to fly by sight than be able to pull assistance from sensor boards and so the girl hoped that would keep most of the enemy fighters off her back. Laira lined up so that she could take shots at them without endangering any GA ground troops. She squeezed the trigger for her main gun, sweeping it through infantry formations. Twenty millimeter explosive rounds swarmed out of the rotary cannon, spraying at the enemy warriors. She sucked air into her lungs, pressing the master-lock for her next proton rockets to fire and hopefully detonate into the largest masses of jump infantry as they tried to fall through AA fire. She had to convince herself she would get through everything, brushing fiery red hair from her face. Was she ready for this? Was this the life she really wanted?

As she raced through the masses of falling infantry she kicked her boosters into gear, kicking her speed up to faster than anything else that was present in the dogfight getting ready to turn and make another pass after she could assess the damage of the first one.

A second chicken walker was crippled as the wreckage of the first smashed into it, Joza ducking away in a most ungraceful manner to avoid taking a stray metallic leg to the face. Unfortunately, it appeared that [member="Dax Fyre"] had gone down while she was focused on handling some of the anti-aircraft machinery. Her aura flared, spiking in the direction of the darkly clad saber wielding opponent who’d pierced Fyre’s gut and she growled, albeit protectively. He was a good ally. Luckily, one of the recent TKO arrivals who’d come with the reinforcements rushed over and processed to secure Dax’s safety and treatment. A proud smile snaked across her face for a brief moment, a touch of grimness to it. Atta boy. Seeing her comrades care for one another sparked a fire of kinship in her.

And then, actual fire.

[member="Asharad Graush"] seemed to be unaffected by the telekinetic attacks sent his way thus far, but that did not deter her. It only piqued her curiosity, especially given how he’d apparently skewered the Rogue Knight. She hadn’t caught much of it, but she could read the waves emanating from Dax easily enough. Regardless, the attention of the soldiers in the immediate vicinity focused on Graush, the Marines concentrating their fire on him. All armors, regardless of their make or strength had to weaken at some point. While the Outback soldiers fired away, Joza was situated to the left side of the Sith towards the rear. Face steeling behind that helmet, she drew upon the Force as she had several times before today. This time, it was not to summon a defensive shield or telekinetic wall—right now, she was taking a page from Elpy’s book.

A puff of flame sprang to life in her hand, not used to being anything larger than what was needed to light a cigarette. But she fed her power into it steadily and the whips of flame multiplied, growing brighter and hungrier before a torrent of fire shot out towards Asharad in a wall. It sped towards the Knight like a freight train, utter precision foregone in place of sheer power—but there was a firm control of motion on it. From what she’d seen, he had to qualms on human(?) sacrifice. Beneath her visor, she grimaced tightly.

Come get it, big boy.

Isla sucked in a deep breath of cold air, so icy that she could feel her lungs stinging. Unfortunately for them, there was little time to recover. From the moment they hit the rooftop, there was more action. Kneeling, she could immediately sense an incoming attack from behind, coming from the direction of the comm tower. A shot from the droid soared with deadly speed, broke through her force shield and barely missed the tender valley between neck and shoulder. Their options were thin when it came to cover, given the high angle of their attacker. But Isla rolled towards the ledge, and pressed herself up against the small wall, taking the moment to reinforce her own defenses.

“Return fire!” She said to the two snipers in their company.

The Knight of Ren would do her best to keep them safe. But it seemed that their troubles were not over. Beneath her feet, she could feel the rooftop trembling. The shaking only grew stronger, and Isla could feel the pull of energy all around her. There was a power at work here, one that sought to collapse the surface beneath them. Her wide-eyed gaze found Kaalia. No, she could not let it end this way – she would not allow the alliance forces to take them with such ease. The darkness that lived within Isla’s heart bloomed within, the shadowy power coursed through her veins.

The protective aura remained around the flame-haired Knight, but weakened with the amount of concentration she poured onto the rooftop – leaving her sniper companion to fend for himself. Isla’s eyes grew narrow, and her jaw clenched as she used the force to reinforce the structure beneath them. While she was not a master when it came to telekinesis, she still had enough skill to keep them safe… as long as she could maintain focus. And the life or death situation had only heightened her abilities; she had tapped into a source of power that had been unknown to her.

Do not give in. Do not let it fall.

Isla would only need to hold out until their gunship arrived – she could do this.

It was a simple thought that she repeated over and over again.

"Raven Five is down, I repeat, Raven Five is down. Press on, soldiers!" The call of the sergeant echoed through the comms as the powerful repeating blasts from the heavy blaster repeated were silenced. Whether the man was no longer, Jude did not know, he only knew he was out of the game and that was bad.

"Sarge, get someone to pick that repeater back up, damn it!!" Jude's orders came in frantically as he remained behind cover. No way he'd move-

"This is Raven Eight, target acquired, right side of said building!!!" The reports came of one of the stormtroopers that had accidentally fired upon the nearly invisible enemy only to reveal his position as the blaster bolts struck helplessly against the energy shield. "Request back up immediately!!"

Like a bolt, Jude finally found his opportunity to jump over cover and proceed forward continuing cautious from cover to cover. Limping insanely, he almost fell three times as he felt the sweat freeze from the blizzard outside. This was a rather painful experience. This was war.

While the stormtroopers would heed the call of Raven Eight and get towards his position in an attempt to catch view of the phantom attacker and if seen proceed on attacking him. On the other hand, Raven Four was the man who had gone back to retrieve the repeater. With cold blood, he disregarded his fallen brother for the sake of the mission.

"Sarge, what's status of air support ?"

"Pending, I will ping again." The sergeant replied over the annunciator as he was a few feet away from Jude who had stopped behind another cover a dozen feet away from the stormtroopers which were gathering at the last known position of the enemy.

"Dammit, we need some eyes here." Jude spat in frustration.

"Air Command, this is Raven One Actual, how copy?" If Air Command would answer he would request the so much needed air support and transmitting their positions. "We've got contact with an enemy behind the lines, requesting immediate air support. Enemy is highly capable and invisible. Over."

The trip from Corellia wasn't exactly easy, they had just finished working out the kinks at Firebase Ardarvia, went around to Firebase Ashira to pick up Kala Matthieus's and her girls before making their way to this radiated wasteland. Symara looked over to Kala and gave her a smile, "ready to get to work?" As she secured her sniper rifle to her back, they had managed their way through the blockade using stealth ships, landing just in time to join in on the march toward the Citadel of Dawn. Granted, they'd been in the back of the line - this is what happens when you spend time arguing with the pilot and a broken navcomputer trying to get from Corellia to Kaeshana. Major Lavali Sanjeet just wanted to get this over with, crush the facists and get back home for tea. "Infantry forward, and next time I'm the one giving the directions and where are those Yazgids?" Of course, they were walking, again - she gave Symara a look. "Let me guess, they're still on Ashira."

"Hey, you could use the exercise," Symara says with a wink looking up she scans the nearby vicinity trying to spot Elpsis but lets it slide as she filters her HUD's vision. "I'll head up front with Kala reinforce infantry." She says to Lavali who can only nod and look over at Serjeant Charles Halifax, "go, I want you to keep close to the Lieutenant let me know what's going on up front." Lavali says watching Chuck and his squad follow the Corellian sniper and near two hundred ground troops from Firemane's own private paramilitary.

"Artillery I need you to get into position, face the Citadel, Firemaw's forward. Manticore and Reaver units keep in tight formation, Hydras I want you to get a line on those TIEs."

Getting here was not easy, but with haste and a lot of running. Charlyra had managed her way here, her energy blade dripped with the blood of those who had opposed her. She locked eyes on the duel and knew better than to intrude. Still she would be there if he needed assistance, the acolyte of the fire order was eager to fight. Her sister Myrrashai had splintered off, watching from the shadows observing the actions of others. Leaving the younger and relatively force weakened sister to fend for herself. She did not go unnoticed, First Order Stormtroopers set their sights for her. Deflecting the blaster bolts with her blade she rushed them ducking out of the way of their shots. Perhaps the myths were true, stormtroopers are terrible shots. Using the energy blade in one hand, and her shoto in the other, Chalyra went to work. As cumbersome as the armor she wore would typically be, she thanked her training from her master Siobhan and her own sister for assisting with her stamina. Planting one foot forward, she swung with the shoto, blocking with the energy blade, pivot, turn - she brought the blade up cutting against the plastoid of the stroomtrooper she was engaged with.

Slash again, the smell of burnt flesh wafted joining the already pleasant smells that Kaeshana had wrought to her senses. A radiated pisshole, she felt the bolt of a blaster ricochet between metal and flesh. Turning around Charlyra's first instinct was to kick, then her energy blade crossed against the stormtrooper's baton. It was clear the energy blade would cut through it and so she ended his misery by plunging her shoto through his armor.

As the Sabercat fell to artillery fire, the special forces spread through the elevation above the Citadel of Dawn redirected their designators to different targets. Specifically they started targeting various walkers and personnel carriers in General Graush's forces and the 214th Legion Odile Vaiken. It took a moment for the FOB to refine the data, as this time there were two groups of targets, rather than one massive target.

"What do we have private?" General Haish asked as the data kept refining into pictures of the two forces.

"Refining data from designators, we have two forces of heavy vehicles. Friendly forces are taking heavy fire from them both." She replied.

"When you have good resolution, target both forces, half on each." Haish ordered, then turned to Sammie. "Samuel, you've been sitting around here most of the day. Grab a rapid response team and take two medevac dropships to help haul out our wounded."

"Aye, sir." Sammie was a bit taken aback, but he let another enlisted relieve him at his console, and pulled his helmet on. He grabbed his rifle as he jogged towards the hospital area of the FOB.

Once he got to the medevac shuttles, he jogged up to a rapid response team of infantry.

"General Haish needs us dispatched to north of Dawn, pick up allied forces that have been taking heavy fire." The lieutenant in charge nodded, and began ordering his people to mount up. In a matter of minutes from General Haish issuing the order, two medevac shuttles, escorted by some of the assault dropships, were airborne and en route to Dax Frye and the TKO Marine force that had been taking casualties. Other Medevac shuttles and escorts were heading to other zones, nearly always busy trying to save the lives of wounded. If any of the medevac teams came across FO troops, they would be rescued as well, and put into a secure area of the hospital portion of the FOB, but otherwise treated as a normal patient.

As the medevac team with Samuel took off, the artillery tanks shifted position and began to stutter out munitions towards General Graush's and Ludolf Vaas's forces. 15 artillery tanks were targeting each force.

Actions:
1) Launched a medevac team with Sammie to rescue Dax Frye and other TKO forces (NPC Medevacs are constantly working to gather others)
2) Turned artillery on Asharad's and Ludolf's forces, 15 artillery tanks firing High Explosive rounds at each force.

Djacen watched through the flickering shield that had been set up as soon as his force got within striking distance of the Citadel. Djacen's group was there to provide support, attacking the First Order forces with armor and infantry. Baradium grenades were thrown from the First Order line he had come across, along with blaster fire. Several of his soldiers were injured as fire arced in through the shield as it stuttered open and closed to allow the armor to fire. Several vehicles were injured as well, as the a few of the grenades made it through as well. The rest were stopped by the shield as it closed.

As Mao moved her forces in to engage, the armor could not chance direct fire. Instead, they ceased firing at Rexus's position, and readied themselves for the incoming assault from Face.

AA tank crews registered minor sensor disruption, as archaic technology from the time of the Galactic Civil War attempted to jam the sensors of modern weaponry designed by one of the premier military contractors of the modern era. For the most part it was a minor disruption because they were able to use direct optical targeting on the ships as they descended. As the Bhesj and Manticore tanks reoriented to meet where the enemy infantry would have to land to begin their assault on the Aspis Shield that had been set up previously, the Hydra's and secondary weapons on the Bhesj's and Manticore's continued to fire on the troopships and infantry as they came. The Anti-Air fire worked just as well on infantry, as it would be one to one overkill, laser to infantry.

The combat engineers, those not operating the Aspis Shield that had been set up previously, cleared firing positions for the infantry, the infantry assisting of course. By the time the remaining enemy infantry ended up on the ground, they would likely have a decently defensible position to assault, after having to make it through the shield. Djacen also put a call out to their escort, requesting aid. As [member="pierce fortan iii"] had retreated to orbit to rearm and refuel, they were free, and began to turn to come to Djacen's assistance.

Actions:
1) Armor Main guns stopped firing on Rexus's forces, after receiving some damage from their attack.
2) Armor reorients, tracking where the infantry would come down to begin firing main guns once they made landfall
3) Hydra's main guns and Bhesj/Manticore secondary weapons continued to fire on the incoming assault
4) Infantry and Combat Engineers set up firing positions inside the shield's bubble to combat the incoming horde.
5) Escort was recalled to help with the situation overhead, they will arrive next post.

Blaster fire rained down on the two Ren and the two snipers, breaking through the weakened Force barrier. Her reflexes helped her dodge the fire as one bolt almost grazed her face. Finding cover next to Isla, Kaalia was overcome by an unsettling feeling. A disturbance, like the Force tried to tell her something horrendous happened. "D-do you feel that? What is that? It feels like screaming." She was clearly bothered by it, and it scared her. The 19-year old had never felt anything like this before. There was no time to talk about it however, as the building they were on started to shake. The Force gathered around the building, and there was no doubt in the young woman's mind that someone was trying to pull it down. Feeling Isla's attempt to keep the building standing, her ally drew on the fear she felt caused by the disturbance, channeling the Force with her passion to bolster the Force around the structure. Hopefully it was enough to keep the building standing until their pickup arrived. She wasn't going to die today.

Omega Pyre technology was facing off with the sort that was well over eight-hundred years old. However, it was a give and take system, and both sides of the field would find themselves with advantages and without. Pyre took castualties, but the continued air run to cover and support ground troops would continue.

Jamming went on, while a few of the fighters would find themselves troubled by [member="Face"]'s jamming, some had been specifically designed to continue on and be able to work through that. Those that couldn't were able to instead redirect and affect what they could. Be as it may, [member="Face"] will find that Omega Pyre's aerial support and attacking runs were not going to stop. It didn't matter that they had ysalamiri's or that they were Yinchorri; live all ends and everyone bleeds one way or another. Concussion missiles, laser fire, and missiles all were strewn into the air at their respective targets, intending to bring down as much of the flying air support brought in by the Mandalorian.

All in all, it was as cinematic as any War Space Opera holofilm.

Tragic that it was a reality.

Down on the ground, Mao's boys faced off with those by [member="Rexus Wenck"] and @FN-888.

Jaron Lesan said:
It was going to draw attention, and he was going to be in for a fight. Still the explosion would let Ludolf know the Jaron had done what was asked. Jaron's problem was getting out of enemy lines.

What Jaron Lesan would find is that he caught himself right in the middle of that battle, and his placements of mines would come with a massive risk. [member="Jaron Lesan"] would find is that he caught himself right in the middle of that battle, and his placements of mines would come with a massive risk. @Jaron Lesan would find is that he caught himself right in the middle of that battle, and his placements of mines would come with a massive risk.

Hardock was beside her, and the ignition of his lightsaber brought the Force Master fighting right alongside the Commander. Intent and suspicion was picked up by the clone master, and while the fog of war colored the battlefield, so too would the sudden blast back that would focus the incognito Dark Jedi knight in false Jedi robes.

"Now arent' you karking quick to leave the battle, mate?" Hardock growled out at Jaron Lesan, his sudden attempt at departure sickening the Single Digit clone. Nothing angered him as much as a yellow bellied cowered, Jedi or not.

"It ain't karking time to leave yet."

Mao went straight for @Raxus Wenck, finding him in the trenches. It would be a down and dirty affair, as the commander used her bolt gun and prepped it for fire. Meters were quickly cut down.

Twenty.

Fifteen.

A grunt and a sudden toss of the woman onto the ground to avoid enemy fire.

Ten meters.

Perfect.

At eight the woman gave a ferocious cry and sent a blast of boltgun right at [member="Rexus Wenck"]. The ammunition of the bolt gun was Extremely effective against personal armour and even light vehicle armour. Extremely useful in clearing buildings. Not to mention strong versus Jedi or shields.

This fight was sure to get nasty, up close and personal real quick.
