Commenor

Plot:

Varying reports have flooded the intelligence division of the Republic. Some say that the Syndicate is a benevolent organization, others denote atrocities committed on the worlds adjacent to the Corellian System at the hands of the same organization. It was because of the diversity of these reports that the Republic was hesitant in making any political ventures towards Corellia and its neighboring worlds...until now. A coded message was intercepted by a Republic intelligence agent that denoted the truth of the matter: the Syndicate was indeed a criminal organization, at least in the context of its treatment of denizens, and the worlds were in dire need of liberation.

As such, a Republic task force was put together in order to remedy the problem. Amassing in the orbit of Balmorra, the Task Force was placed under the command of Flint Pherson and the first world in line for Republic liberation is Commenor. Members of the Republic and the Jedi Order are encouraged to participate in this venture. The plan of attack is to move from Commenor, to Cato Neimoidia, to Corelia, then back to Zeltros, and finally Rendili.

Flint is spearheading this venture, as I'll be on my semi-LOA for the week. I will enter, however, as my Jedi Padawan and offer assistance in any way possible. Our directive is to take the Commenor capital so that we may restore peace and stable leadership to the planet before continuing on through Syndicate space. We will meet any resistance the Syndicate puts between us and the Capital, and if we succeed in defeating them, the planet will be liberated and will join the Republic.

_________

Members of the Republic, the Jedi Order, and the Syndicate; please feel free to offer feedback. I'll make adjustments to the general plan as suggested and then we'll proceed with the Invasion. May the Force be with us. :)

Please, tell me, what justifies this course of action? You're attacking a faction that, by all accounts, isn't even known to the galaxy. A faction that has done nothing to warrant a full scale military invasion, even if you did know that it existed on these worlds.

Meanwhile, the Sith, who attacked you. Who have now been spotted openly attacking worlds in the galaxy, whose very existence opposes everything the Republic stands for, are left alone.

Tell me how this works. Cause I'm not seeing it.

I'm speaking ICly, Also invading I don't see that following the Jedi code -- Hence why ICLY my Jedi will more than likely be against it. I'm speaking from an IC perspective. I know Tef knows about it, I also know about the merger -- AGAIN speaking icly.

Let's play nice...

Also, did I miss a discussion in the Republic forum? Either way, all I have to say is...interesting. I'd like to hear other's opinions about Dex's Invasion from the Jedi.

@Ayden; the description of the Syndicate faction itself is what gave me the justification. In your own words, there are whispers about the organization in the galaxy, some identify the Syndicate as a benevolent entity while others identify it as a criminal organization. The plotline I devised, as outlined in my above post, clearly offers a legitimate reason for the Republic to intervene. The Syndicate has five worlds under their control and they are desperate need of liberation from the control of the organization and offered the freedom and prosperity that comes with joining the Republic.

@Spencer; Part of the Jedi Code denotes that all life is precious in the galaxy and that Jedi are to utilize their powers to protect and to defend. If there is a criminal organization lording over a population of worlds, especially worlds that your fellow Jedi hail from, then it is well within the definition of a Jedi to aide the Republic in making an intervention.

@Skye & Ayden; I am well aware of the potential merge that is underway for the two factions, but first and foremost, it is not a publicly known fact to the galaxy. Second, Teferi and I have been talking in length regarding this Invasion over the course of the weekend and Ayden and I have touched upon it as well. This isn't a surprise or anything of the sort, everyone in power is fully aware of this. I simply took it upon myself to make a public announcement as a courtesy.

As far as IC goes, the Republic has every reason to liberate worlds held under criminal regimes. Yes, the Sith Empire is gallavanting across the galaxy committing atrocities and they will be deal with in the immediate future. However, the worlds under Syndicate control are directly adjacent to Republic space. A criminal organization that holds the same dominance over the same number of planets is a great, immediate threat that needs to be addressed. Furthermore, it is the "Light Side" thing to do.

As far as OOC goes, the Syndicate is sitting upon worlds that are vital to the Republic's defeat of the Sith. Prior to the idea of an invasion, and in light of the future merger of the factions, I approached Ayden asking if there was any way that Corellia might peacefully and diplomatically join the Republic. The answer was no, so with Teferi's blessing, I proceeded in organizing the Invasion.

Are there any further questions? Comments? Things you wish to yell at me?
