Veino shot up from where he had been meditating. Danger. Darkness. Fear. And far off, anger and rage and the rotting corruption of the Dark Side. It was here. On the planet. He hurried out, dropping his coat as he left the main building and turned to the students, "Get underground. Keep yourselves hidden. I'll be back as soon as I can." He sprinted to the small motor pool where his Tachyon freighter, the
Gray Pilgrim was located. He sprinted up and powered up the engines, considering. It was a light freighter, and wouldn't stand a chance against warships. He rerouted all power to the engines and the shields before shooting upwards, nearly knocking himself from the pilot's seat, and shot across the landscape towards where the conflict seemed the most intense. Aldera. He pushed the throttled forward and the ship screamed through the atmosphere, land flashing by beneath him.
He set his jaw and sank into the Force, wrapping himself in it and freezing it in steely resolve. He would not allow another planet to fall to the One Sith. Not that was a whole lot he could do on his own. How unfortunate Alexandra and Daichi were off somewhere. He would welcome them by his side. The Force nudged him and he yanked the control stick to the lift as a ship came hurtling past him, slamming into the ground and exploded in a ball of flame. The deaths of all inside hit him like a punch to the stomach, as if a portion of himself had simply ceased to exist. He paled and nearly puked, but kept it in control, as he could see the capital up ahead and the war that raged across the landscape. Emotions thundered through him, nearly causing him to lose control of the ship, but he brought his emotional walls back up in time to stop himself from crashing.
He frowned. Was that the university? Why in Tatooine's twin suns were the Sith attacking that? It was a school, for pity's sake. Everything they had was publicly available on the Holonet from the various affiliated .edu sites. He pulled the throttle back and dove in for a landing, wincing as it threw him from the seat and knocked a few potholes in the street. He really needed to practice piloting more. He studied the black-clad storm troopers and Sith cruising around on their speeder-bikes like some sort of well-organized swoop gang, and then shrugged, hurrying down the boarding ramp after sending all the ship's power to the shield. He really, really did not want that damaged. He couldn't afford a second one.
His lightsaber crackled to life, bathing him in yellow light, and he walked into the battlefield where men and gods dueled in nothing but a tunic and pants. And the Force. He would need nothing more, but he did really wish he had had his Defender armor by now. He should get around to doing that soon.
He held his lightsaber in a medium guard as he walked slowly into the chaos, stretching out with the Force, and settling into its depths. His sudden appearance and anonymity would be of assistance for a few moments, but not for long. Probably as soon as any Sith in the vicinity realized he had no touch of the Dark Side on him.
First objective then? Get to the aid of the Jedi knight defending the entrance. But not too close. He sprinted forward, using the Force to boost his speed and jumped, somersaulting over one of the speeders with a black clad stormtrooper and dropping his hand to let the hilt and helmet collide before landing in a roll and running forward again, blade arcing forth to deflect the blaster bolts that had begun to arc his way.
