Crimson Tide (Sith vs. Republic Invasion of Manaan)

I actually felt a little something inside there, I felt something for the droid who could not understand why the little woman started to attack him? They could have been kindred spirits, both shouting and prancing (maybe not prancing) their way along battlefields crushing skulls of any and all who stood in their path. Meatbag and her Metalman. They could have been the greatest!

But fate placed them on opposite sides.

In a practical sense the headbutt was not a success but in a practical sense you don't headbutt things made of metal so practicality can bugger off. There was always a sense of joy, and shooting pain that accompanied Steph when she connected that noggin to another. Yet again, her head split open, blood beginning to trickle down her features. The mask of war.

Thankfully Zenima dived to the right and out of the way of the incoming vibromace. Why? What do you mean, why?! WHY ARE YOU ASKING WHY MY CHARACTER AVOIDED THAT? Because I don't want her to be like Orphan McGiblets over there!? I don't know. DON'T QUESTION THESE THINGS.

“'AT'S MAIR LIKE IT, MIN!”

Evidently Steph was happy that the TD-19 was now trying to destroy her. Getting back up to her feet the woman raised her fists. Yes, she was going to try to fist fight the metal man. The stupid woman dashed forward, her right hand rocketing at the droid's chest plate. A pretty standard straight punch.

Blaster fire shot out the front of their bikes towards the enemy, who finally showed their faces. Also informing her as to who held this location. "Kill em all boys"! Aerrah and her men charged forward on the thunder of their engines. An off one stood out among the foes. His orange fur distinguishing him greatly. The mongrel shot thrice at her. One went wide, the other two she misdirected with her blade. Before the two could get in reach of each other. Aerrah charging on her mechanical mount. Her foe leaping towards her; that stupid yet brilliant trooper managed to wipe out all but two of her troopers, including her. A simple wire trap. A thankful thought would of been in order for the armor she wore, but it was places aside for more urgent matters.

Aerrah's Lightsaber jerked from her hand as momentum carried it on. Tumbling dangerously towards Lan. Anything it touched it destroyed, and a limb could so easily be severed. Her armored rear crashed into the ground. It was disorienting to be tossed from a vehicle so suddenly. She still carried on forward, not losing all forward movement to the wire since it buckled under their speed. Where was that orange bastard now?

Lan rolled across the floor like a small orange ball. The lightsaber had sliced into his armor, cutting away a good part of the white and orange duraplast and singing his fur beneath. He frowned slightly, but then immediately stood back up. He aimed his blaster at the woman, trying to pull the trigger. Too late however he noticed that the front of the weapon had been completely cut off by the lightsaber.

He scowled and threw the blaster onto the ground, he would have to do this the old fashioned way.

With a yell Lan rushed at her again, drawing his side-arm and firing at her three times once again. Then he jumped, but towards her, instead he bounded for one of the dead troopers. He took a thermal detonator from the troopers body and primed it, throwing it at the woman just as it was about to blow.

A tremendous hiss roar out as Darth Apparatus clashed his lightsaber with @[member="Selena Halcyon"]’s. Darth Apparatus held his finishing pose after the slash even when Selena somersaulted away. He breathed slowly and with depth beneath his crimson mask. Just a couple seconds after the attack, Darth Apparatus righted himself with jerky movements.

When Selena charged toward the droids pushing the poison, Darth Apparatus did not immediately follow. He turned his head toward the growing presence of Imperial soldiers. Yet shortly afterward, they were distracted by the heavy amount of Republic soldiers. Darth Apparatus and Selena seemed to be just a small part of the chaos - despite the vital nature of either’s mission.

Then, Darth Apparatus turned back to Selena. Quickly, the Grand Master managed to fell a few of the droids with her dual-phase lightsaber. His chin turned up to the blue sky above them - teeming with fighters destroying each other. After just a second, Darth Apparatus returned his focus to Selena.

With a substantial amount of speed, Darth Apparatus ran toward the crates. A pair of crates carrying poison blocked a direct path between Darth Apparatus and Selena the moment he began his sprint. Yet, Darth Apparatus charged straight for the poison.

Slashing his lightsaber across, Darth Apparatus sliced into the barrels with his crimson blade. The heat of the lightsaber evaporated the poison - which was stored in the crates as a liquid. The vapor exploded out and attempted to permeate in the air. Yet, only those in the immediate area would suffer from noticeable effects of exposure to the poison.

The effects of the poison, once inhaled, progressed over a long period. Stamina would have been sapped over time as breathing became increasingly difficult. Nausea would kick in and the body would attempt to purge the stomach as if the victim had swallowed the poison. Treatment was possible. Yet, those that ignore the early symptoms would eventually show boils and cysts. Bleeding, both externally and internally, would soon follow. Death was a high possibility for those without the resources and constitution to fight the poison.

The moment some of the green gas blew over Darth Apparatus’s face, the Sith released a loud wheezing noise. His head retracted away from Selena - who now stood before him. Both were within striking distance.

Location: Poison Deployment Area
Objective: Stop Selena from destroying the droids.

As the young apprentice began to engage the Grandmaster along with Darth Apparatus, it did not take Selena too long to move as she somersaulted away, quickly recognizing a situation that was not in the Grandmaster's favour.

Of course, Selena may not hold the gift of telekinetics, except Valentina did not know that, and still she approached the battle accordingly.

As Selena moved on the droids, Valentina followed Apparatus in pursuit of the Grandmaster, except Selena was fast, the Grandmaster being much faster than the young Apprentice Valentina. Matters were further complicated with even more crates in the path of the young Sith, to run after the Jedi was simply not an option.

So, rather than give chase in direct pursuit, Valentina plotted to intercept, using the force to jump and hop and bounce on and over various crates she simply moved to the upper part of the line of droids that Selena must go through to complete her mission.

Landing on top of a random crate not holding any poison but along the lines of the droids that Selena began to cut down, she was a clear thirty feet away, when she noticed the sick color of a green a cloud escape from the location of the two Masters.

Her brown eyes narrowed, it must be the poison. she thought to herself.

Valentina was keen to keep her distance away from the cloud as she waited for it to dissipate.

It would be then that the young darksider would wait and see if the affects of the poison took hold and Selena's concentration broke to allow Valentina to strike.

OOC/ As Republic opposition has not edited, moved, or posted in five days, I'm moving on.

IC/ With the most powerful Republic forces in the area pinned down by the disguised Sith Master in stormtrooper armor, and the human replica assassin, Shank backstepped furiously, his disruptor still firing at the Jedi Master's face. Halik Falkosi's rocket spam in close quarters had damaged the release mechanisms, breaking some of their membranes to drop un-aerosolized Zerek Strain into the airways, far less useful than if they'd managed to fully aerosolize it in the air ducts instead of just the bitter cloud that filled this room. He twisted the compressed-air releases for all the modules, producing many failures but also a few spurts or jets of useful mist into the air systems.

It was not a full release, and the erratic spray would only carry into some of the ducts and vents that permeated Ahto City. Without applying an immense antibiotic regimen to every Selkath and soldier around, though, and without decontaminating the entire city, the Republic couldn't be sure that the disease was fully gone, even if it did have a short lifespan outside a host -- and how were they to know that?

His disruptor clicked empty, and his usefulness was at an end. Lobbing his thermal detonator at the Jedi Master in the faint and fading hope of actually landing a minimal hit, Shank dropped through one of the rocket-torn gaps in the airways, and slid away from the fight.

Exit stage left.

Her stormtrooper ally had, so Moira noted, used the distraction productively. To be sure the erratic spray of the Zerek Strain would be less effective than a full release and its range would be limited, unfortunately, however, the Republic and their Selkath subjects would have no way of knowing that the disease was banished, short life span or not, even if they knew that part, and it should still infect a sizeable number of people. After all, aside from the Jedi there were force-sensitives among the Selkath. Force-sensitive Selkath who should not be happy about the fact that another Jedi master had unleashed a typhoon upon their city, which the Republic was supposed to protect.

Moira disengaged and pulled back swiftly, still firing while she retreated, expending an entire magazine of deadly explosive bolts from her Mark One Boltgun along with that of a durasteel pellets from her scatter gun, both weapons ideal for crowd and area control. The last round barked out of the bolter and she plucked a thermal detonator free from her belt, lobbing it at the Jedi Master in synch with Shank, then for good measure threw another one into the fray. Perhaps there would be a hit, it certainly should produce a big bang and blast what was left of the room.

Following Shank she dropped down through a rocket-wrecked gap in the airway, out of the fight in a swift motion. On the way a purely electronic transmission - wireless and nonverbal, impossible to overhear, since Moira was not even moving her lips - was sent to MSE-007. "Disengaging from the insignificant meatbags. Republic war crimes must be filmed. The better to sow chaos among the vermin."

MSE's Aleph-class turned a tight loop over Ahto City.

Affirmative. Footage obtained of the Butcher of Metalorn using metaphysical means to create a storm of significant destructive power. Nearly admirable. Filming continues.

It was always distressing about those who would not see to reason but in any war there were those that agreed and those that did not. The ones that agreed were the ones that stayed behind, and then there was the old too stubborn to leave these homes. She could sense Flint's hint of sadness. Then the force flickered with more life.

Rianna heard the steps, so not good. Rianna was a defensive fighter not an aggressor, and these troops coming down the steps did not look like they wanted to talk. She stepped back a little she needed to be able to see them all. Rianna had not put her hand to her weapon.

"Flint" She smiled, she would not be taken prison she would not allow Flint to be taken but she wanted a way out. The troops were trained to kill them on sight there was no doubt as they raised their weapons, Rianna could sense their fear, their sensation of not knowing, but then it only took one to hate, one to urge the others on. She felt the hate rising up, it was aimed at them. Aimed at what they were.

It only takes a second, Rianna felt it she called her weapon to her hand, ignited it in a single move, snap hiss followed by the familiar hum of a lightsaber, without thinking she stepped forward to protect Flint in his condition. The first blaster bolt hit Rianna's weapon, her weapon angled in such a way that the bolt went back on a n arch. This battle over a few feet of stairs was underway.

Objective: Regroup and Engage Republic troops.

Talon had been too slow. It was evident the Mandalorian was prepared and Talon had been sloppy. He stood among the debris and dust of the Crashed building and shook his head. Nearly his whole team was likely under that building. The only ones that may have survived were the few he had sent to join the main force. This was the type of screw up a Commander could not make. He had wasted lives and assets with one decision. Talon walked toward the former sewer relay and kicked some pieces of building with his boot. The desire to kill the Mandalorian was strong but by the time he got into the sewer to find him the Mandalorian would likely be gone.

"Imperial Command, this is IC-1128 reporting. Medical depot demolished most of my troops are dead." Talon paused before continuing, "I'm heading back to the main forces if you'll permit."

Talon looked around for his Blaster rifle and couldn't find it anywhere. He decided to just go with his second option and pulled one of his lightsabers off his gauntlet and began jogging toward the main invasion force. with luck he'd find a way to be useful along the way.

Location: Ahto City Sewers
Objective: Head further down, Enter City Buoyancy Tanks, Survive

Betna had been jogging for a good ten to fifteen minutes now. He knew he'd been heading South East, towards the outside of the city, but he wasn't precisely sure where he was within the sewers. Occasionally, he would hear dull thumps of explosions overhead or the thuds of heavy walkers moving to the front lines, but thankfully he'd spotted no breaches in the sewers.

His leg still howled and it was getting harder to shove the pain aside. He took another two vials of the painkiller/bacta mix and injected them into his thigh once more. The cocktail helped dull the pain, but he knew he'd probably torn something inside again. Thankfully, the bleeding had stopped which told him he'd not hit any major arteries.

The sewers twisted and turned this way and that, the meandering path hard to keep track of, but somehow Betna got the gist of the direction. He couldn't tell exactly where he was, but he knew to keep heading in the same direction more or less. It helped that he'd occasionally find signs here and there. Well, not really signs, per se, but arrows with the letters "ACBT" which he hoped meant "Ahto City Ballast Tanks".

Another ten or so minutes later and another vial of painkillers and the Mandalorian had found what he was looking for. Betna saw the hatch was locked, but after five minutes or so, he coaxed it open. Taking a last look around to make sure no one was following, he slipped down through the hatch and continued on his mission.

OOC/ As Republic opposition has not edited, moved, or posted in six days, I'm moving on.

More than a bit disappointed in the Jedi's lack of initiative in taking his bait, and surprised at how frozen he and his trooper were at the continued assault Valik decided it prudent to follow the 'other' stormtrooper out of the battle. Though he didn't know of the Zerek Strain's deployment he could feel from the mind of the storm trooper that damage had been done, and a major victory was won. So, down the rocket-torn hole in the wall in he went, following @[member="TK-5914 Shank"] out of the battlefield.

"You're one of the better men I've fought with soldier. Even considering the wizards I've made acquaintance with over the past few years." He said as he followed by the side of the man to their eventual escape from this planetary puddle. "Why don't you take this." He said, taking a hand out of his pocket and giving the man what appeared to be a simple credit chit, before lowering his voice a bit. "I've got a business I'm starting up that will sell some rather . . . unique weaponry. I'm not sure all of what I'm planning to sell will fit into your paygrade, but I'll let you get your first order on me." He said, not going into particular detail but his voice speaking with confidence. Shank didn't know Valik, and likely wouldn't learn more of him personally in future, but he would be able to tell that his voice spoke that Valik believed his products would be, well, revolutionary.

A sudden calm swept over Flint. Perhaps the Jedi Master didn't realize it or perhaps she knew that already, but being with a more experienced Jedi gave Flint more confidence and certainly gave him reassurance. As he instinctively raised his lightsaber to defend against the incoming Stormtrooper blasts, Flint knew that the pair of them were more than capable of defeating this group of Imperials.

He was rather curious to see how other Republic forces were doing at the time being, being at the Ahto City Center didn't give Flint much info on how the rest of the skirmish against the Imperials were proceeding. "This is Jedi Knight Flint Dexen, does anybody copy? Flint inquired to his fellow Republic combatants through his communication device, as he moved forward to slice down the blaster rifles of five Stormtroopers. Even in his tired state, Flint summoned a Force Push, sending the Stormtroopers flying over a rail and down below to... whatever was downstairs. There were about only six or so troops left, and hopefully Jedi Master Rianna would be able to take the rest out.

There was no reply, and Flint began to worry slightly. Was Manaan safe or were Imperials about to conquer the planet? He didn't really know. What he did know, however, was that there would definitely be Imperials this way. After all, how would they claim Ahto City without taking the city center? Flint knew that he and Rianna had to try their best to fend off the invaders from taking the city center. (@[member="Valik"] @Moira Skaldi @TK-5914 Shank)

Location: Ahto City Buoyancy Tanks
Objective: Find outer wall, set charges, survive.

Betna's commlink had been feeding into his helmet and, out of habit, he'd been subconsciously filtering out the chatter. At least, he was until someone came on the comms asking if anyone could hear him. Betna found the frequency on his HUD and keyed in.

"This is...," Betna said, hesitating on how to identify himself. Republic command had given him the codename 'Long Eyes' for the battle, but he doubted this Knight Flint knew that. "Arrbi Betna. Whacha need?"

As he waited for a reply, Betna continued jogging. From the looks of things, the ballast tanks underneath the city that kept Ahto afloat were laid out along a long corridor with hatches to each, huge, ballast tank set at even intervals along the way. He passed more and more hatches as he jogged to the outer wall. As he passed each hatch, he took a few second to open the doorways, opening the empty tanks to the corridor.

"This is Agent Garter, solid copy! And for the record! You kind of left us hanging back there!" Patricia was out of her high heels walking the streets barefoot. Again her pretty red dress was ruined and she would have to call up sin to get a new one. "I swear to crap I'm going to end that woman one day!" Patricia continued to walk along the streets shooting down a sith trooper or two that crossed her. Aerrah spun about onto her knees. Seeking to defend herself from any attacks Lan would send her way. The blaster bolts had come to sudden to dodge or otherwise stop. One grazed her side and another harmlessly impacted her on the shoulder armor. The third bit into her left thigh, inflicting a flesh wound deep enough to affect her ability to stand. Aerrah clenched her teeth. The pain was distracting, but a great generator of rage and power. And this she drew upon as Lan threw something at her, whatever it was nothing good. She outstretched her arm and blasted a wave of invisible energy to blow back the targets in front of her. Them being the grenade and Lan, and any miscellaneous debris on the ground.

Rianna had a hard time killing someone, it was difficult with one flourish she disengaged her lightsaber, raised her right hand and pushed very hard at the rest of the troops, while many of them did bounce back and away one or two remained standing as if they had anticipated the move. A bit amazed by this she raised her other hand with her saber in it, a mistake as both troopers raised their weapons.

With a small movement and some concentration, "Your tired of battle, you want a vacation starting now" She smiled as the troopers waited briefly 'yes a vacation starting now" They turned and ran the other way. Rianna took a deep breath, then looked over at Flint. "I don't mind playing dominoes, so anyone home?" she referred to his call.

Rianna looked around, she was uneasy, she pulled out her own comm and sent a message to make sure all the teams made it back to the Healer's encampment. There was still one team missing, it was feared they were dead. Rianna closed her eyes. She didn't know, she couldn't sense it, too much interference.

Flint gave a grin at Master @[member="Rianna Organa"]'s finishing move, and how she had used the Force to convince the Stormtroopers that they needed a vacation. Interesting way to go about dealing with enemies, but Flint liked how the Jedi Master like him, refused to kill the deadly opponents.

Finally, Flint receieved some chatter over his communication device. It was good that there were still Republic combatants and allies around and about that were still alive. That was good, since they needed everyone to fend off the Imperials from taking the city.

The first to speak was @[member="Arrbi Betna"], who Flint did not know personally. But obviously he had been paid to work as an ally for the Republic, judging by the fact that he had picked up the transmission in the first place. "What is your current mission objective?" he inquired simply. If the man had a goal already in mind, Flint would leave him to do whatever he was going to do. If his objective wasn't all too important, he wanted to ask Betna to come join the Republic combatants at the city center.

Next was a Republic agent, @[member="Patricia Susan Garter"]. Fint didn't know how their battle had gone, since the Sith Knight that he was dueling, Faust, had hurled Flint out of the battle. "My apologies, Agent Garter. What is the current situation in the streets?" he asked. Hopefully things weren't too chaotic, and civilians were being protected.

Location: Nearing Outer Wall of Ahto City's Ballast Tanks
Objective: Set charges to breach outer wall and sink approximately half of Ahto City

Betna heard the Jedi's voice over the commlink in his helmet and figured now would be a good time to get the Republic up to date on his intentions.

"My objective is simple," Betna said as he opened yet another hatch. He was almost to the outer wall and could easily see it down the corridor. "I'm setting some breaching charges against the outer wall of the city's Ballast tanks. It'll flood the tanks and cause half the city to sink, more or less. If I'm right in my guesstimated calculations, it'll break the city in half once the sinking side gets too heavy. I've heard that happens with seagoing ships, so it should work on a floating city."

Betna opened more hatches in the corridor which would allow the huge tanks to flood with water once the breach had been made. He was getting closer to the outer wall.

"I suggest you do whatever you need to do to get Republic command to fall back. I'm not entirely sure where the break line will happen or exactly when, but you guys need to haul shebs and get clear or you're all gonna need to learn to swim real quick, understand?"

"The other Jedi." she paused and sighed into the comm unit as she limped down the streets to take refuge in an abandoned speeder. "He didn't make it." Patricia wasn't sure if he was killed or not but one thing was for sure, the sith had taken his life or taken him prisoner. It wasn't something that she liked to break the news about but someone had to do it. Everyone was dying and the world would soon be the siths. "We need to regroup, what's your location?"
