The Hell just happened and why is every company ever now hating us?

I woke up to see us being basically screwed seven ways to sunday.

So, it seems to me like there was some kinda staged attack so that the prime minister could take direct control of the republic, and decided to do some rather dumb stuff with it.

Am i right?

Also, the thing she cited says " provided the Supreme Commander does not object,"

Can't we just have the supreme commander object? Nip this in the bud now?

From what I know, all that has happened is according to Gens OOC will.

But yes, things are a bit unclear to at the moment. Gen is not the only one who has something interesting cooking either.
We will find a way to get things to work out, I can only ask for folks to not jump to conclussions before we had a chance to go over things.

I followed most of this last night. Here's what I've got as a short breakdown:

Gen is attempting to take control of the Senate, using the clone army created by Patricia & Spaarti Creations. She has also attempted to seize a dozen or so companies' assets including those of Tenloss and ATC. In response, many companies have pulled support for the Republic entirely.

A corporate alliance has begun, from all across the galaxy with ties to ATC, and it seems they are going to directly target the Republic, Gen, and the clone army.

I'm fairly confused, but I haven't been following this too much, so I guess I'll be doing some reading tonight. However, from what I have understood so far, Gen (intentionally or not) burned 'a few' bridges. Because of that, we've got some people who kind of want to punch us (or at least some of us) now.

For me this doesn't change anything OOC, but I know that Ven's going to have a negative view of this IC. Not sure what's going to happen from here, honestly.

Mmm... Mostly correct. The PM attempted to restrain and remove an individual many knew of or knew personally for decrying the PM's actions. When the PM et al pulled him from the discussion the Senate room erupted into minor Chaos. Many companies decided to save themselves future problems and IC'ly cut ties. The PM overreacted IC'ly and attempted to nationalize many companies within the Pub borders. Said companies have many ties with one another and basically pulled something similar to what the fledgling US colonies did ~200 years ago.

Dominos fell, favors were called in, and now the Republic has made enemies with many of the most powerful corporations in the galaxy. There's an easy way to fix the whole issue, honestly, through IC means, but I'm not sure the PM wants to go down that path. That said, that's all the PM's call on that one.
