Divided We Fall [Open to all but One Sith and their Allies]

Siara Kai

Information Broker
Someone was yelling -- and in a thick accent too, prompting Siara to catch a glance over to an overhead datascreen. She was still in the middle of tracing the signal, but she could multitask.

Were they finally about to spill some blood? Perhaps get into a fisty cuff fight?

"About karkin' time," said the Corellian native, still working through the code. A hand would drag the holocreen to pop up into a larger format in front of her.

She didn't want to miss the show if things escalated quickly.

Gilamar Skirata

"Peace, is a lie."

The old man spoke up, quoting his enemies. "Not once in my sixty-odd years of life, not since before the Gulag Plague has there been peace in this Galaxy. It is still recovering, and its people are trying to recover, if not dominate. In the past the Republic spanned most of this Galaxy and territories were established not by armies and factions, but by word of mouth. Until all worlds are under one faction or another and those factions consolidate power conflict will continue. We are doing the best we can to keep what the plague has given us together in our own ways.

"The Sith threaten to bring us down to that awful place where growth is stagnated, where change strangled and hope is eradicated from future generations. The Force corrupts and decays all it touches and the Sith are heart of that corruption. Before we can manage our own grievances this sickness, this corruption must be cut out. With that said, the Mandalorians will throw their lot in with this alliance, we did it when Krayt came about, we can do it again."

Olivia propped her elbow against the arm rest of her chair and plopped her chin into her palm as she watched the politicians bicker over war and peace. They jumped at shadows, each of them worried about who would be the first to stab them in the back.

Preliat leaned over to Gilamar. He switched to a low, Mando'a tone. He didn't care if not everyone could understand, he just wanted a bit more intimacy."<Mhi copaani mar'eyir ibis pakod meh mhi geroya briikase."1He shifted in his seat, glancing to the various Non-Mandalorians at the table.

"Mhi liser slanar puut'la jat'ca'nara."2

1. More or less, he's saying to play their game nicely and it'll be easier.
2. We can go ballistic later.

"Peace, is a lie."
"Sith." Buliwyf said flatly, as he looked at Gilamar, "Do ze rest of you believe zis as vell? Zat 'Reality' is constant Var? Zat you cahn joost 'go back' to how sengs vere?"

Buliwyf shook his head and stepped near the door.

"peace iz a Lie!?" He said spat, "You are to scared to give up on the cycle of death and accept the reality that 'you are part of ze problem. you demand freedom und an end to ze Sith domintation and zen sit here and talk like Sith yourselves. 'Kill zis, murder, zat, vhat is ze best way to destroy zem' and have z nerve to say the very seng zat zey teach religiously."

Buliwyf's face was red with fury.

Olivia stared deadpan at [member="Preliat Mantis"] as he attempted to whisper, loudly, into the ear of Mand'alor Skirata. Did he really think that no one here spoke Mandoa? Was he not aware of basic translation software?

"I would rather fight until my last breath, than have someone tell me that I can no longer live the way I wish. And that was what the Sith wish when they speak of 'Peace'."
Maybe it was because he had grown in up in near constant conflict, maybe it was just his heritage, or maybe he was just old and ready to die. Regardless, he said these words, his eyes burning into the soul of this man. "Now you tell me, what you would do. Peace at the cost of losing yourself, or battle keeping true to yourself until the bitter end?"

Buliwyf shook his head.

"Would you still say that if Silvia would have to live to watch you die?" he said as he turned to go.

"Plan your attack," he said over his shoulder as he opened the door, "But remember that what comes after me will only be worse."

He walked out and locked the door then smashed the lock with a force enhanced fist. He was as angry as he had ever been. He called on the force and ran to his ship. Maybe if locked in together they would do the galaxy a favor and just start shooting.

He entered his Okyaab-class freighter and in minutes lifted off.

"Enough!"

She slammed her fist down on the table.

"This is exactly what the Sith want us to do, squabble like petty politicians and hoarders about what is ours and what isn't ours. Either we come together now, or we all face a bitter end on our own territories. This facade that we can do better alone Manda'lor or we should lose ourselves by sacrificing a piece of ourselves for a better existence won't get you anywhere." She sighed heavily. "Victory requires sacrifice, it has been said in this meeting already. We all must make sacrifices. I suggest a Council if it is so important for those of you who require power, to hold onto it." She held up a hand. "And from that Council, you elect a Chairman or a Chief of the Council to aide in decisions." She motioned to the holomap. "If we think one attack, or one campaign is going to eliminate the threat of the Sith, then we are lost. If we think staying divided by our own petty differences or even the culture we cling to will save us in the end. Then we have lost." She took a breath and brought both hands to her head, rubbing her temples. "The days of the Galactic Alliance might be something we turn to, or even the Galactic Federation Triumvirate, this is a fate we might all have to accept should we begin to topple."

She sat down finally and dropped her hands to the table, staring at each individual present, holo or not. "It's things that have already been said that obviously are falling on deaf ears. This Alliance requires leadership and the galaxy is depending on us to unite together under a single banner. We cannot depend on peace talks with the Sith. Even in the days of the Old Republic that became a false flag for Coruscant to fall."

She turned quickly to the exit of [member="Buliwyf Jarhulda"] and then the abrupt noise of the door shutting and then being punched? What the feth just happened there?

OOC EDIT - Erm, was in mid type when that above post happened. LoL.

Siobhan was thoroughly unimpressed by Buliwyf's in her opinion thoroughly melodramatic display. Well, that and she was getting bored by the seemingly endless speechifying. A force enhanced fist had locked the door and now the invisible fingers of a ridiculously brutal telekinesis master curled around the door to pull it open again.

After all, she could appreciate the fresh air. And felt like going for a cigarette break.

Rosa watched the fight, her heart sinking. This is exactly what she wanted to avoid. thinking further than the issue at hand was only set to rise tensions, and she was hardly surprised that it spouted form the mandalorians. "Gentlemen, please." she asked, but her voice went unheard as their voices rose and [member="Alyesa Praxon-Organa"] added her own

She did not try to stop him as [member="Buliwyf Jarhulda"] left, but what he said caught her attention. Her eyes widened as the statement processed. I should have seen this. Why didn't I see this? She was not concerned about them being locked in, there was plenty of ways out, though [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"], clearly believed her way was best. She closed her eyes. "Alright, Why don't we take a breather, reconvene in fifteen minutes. Thurion, Kal please remain."

Alyesa shook her head softly and folded up her datapad and quietly made her way out of the room, thanks of course to [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]. She wasn't mad, small things like disagreements never really made Alyesa angry or even upset. No, she had far bigger things to be mad about. The loss of Alderaan, of the entire monarchy and the Houses of Alderaan and the potential of people like the Thul House to muck things up. She wasn't really sure where she could go, so she just headed for the hanger and found a stack of crates to sit on.

No better place, right?

Olivia turned her head left and right as she watched one outburst after another, until their host had finally reached her limit and ordered a brief recess so that everyone could cool their heads. Unfazed by either the outbursts or that their host was on the verge of giving up, Olivia calmly pulled a thermos from within the folds of her coat and placed both it and a small box, from elsewhere within the folds of her coat, onto the table.

Calmly, and with practiced precision, Olivia assembled the contents of the box onto the surface of the table and poured the contents of the thermos into a small, ornate, ceramic cup. The box was closed, the thermos was sealed, and both were sat to the left of her. Her hands wrapped around the now-warm cup as she took a deep, calming breath and closed her eyes. A small, polite smile played across her lips before she began sipping at the contents of her ceramic cup.

Callisto had watched the display with impassive indifference, as seemed tradition among her line. A door was locked, and then torn open. She remembered Siobhan Kerrigan from her briefing. Her true Controller did not like her much. Well, that was a considerable understatement.

She noted the last words the Buliwyf Jarhulda said before storming off. There was no change in her placid expression as she analysed the statement and processed the meaning of his last words, connecting the dots. One advantage of being an inhumane human replica droid was a lack of concern for most things.

To be perfectly honest, nothing had seemed to be truly getting out of hand in the young Rendili woman's eyes until the outburst come forth from the old man and the door was subsequently locked as he made a rather immature exit. Certainly there was some silly bickering and griping, and the Mandolorians remarks were rather aggressive, but no one appeared to be butting heads in a manner to indicate there might be a break down of communication or a rise in violence. If anything the outburst and claims that everyone was being problematic from the older gentleman likely served to be the cause of either of those issues more than anything else said previously.

Camellia had been content to sit back and listen, knowing her lack of influence or status among everyone else present. She really didn't have anything profound to say or add anyway, so it wasn't even of much concern when much more practiced people were taking the lead in these negotiations. The outburst had honestly confused her, making her blink as Buliwyf stormed out and the smash of something came from behind the door afterward. After everything settled and a recess was called for the young Captain sighed as she filed out along with the others, who thankfully weren't all locked in together because of the contribution of Ms. Kerrigan of Firemane.

Nothing that Buliwyf had insinuated had seemed to hold an ounce of thought to it. A naive and stupid idealist's words. Certainly there was nothing wrong with wanting such things, with hoping for such things to come to pass, but to belittle others for their inability to accomplish such a demand on the spot, and saying that no one wished for a peaceful time once more, was rather foolish to the extreme. It wasn't even pessimism on Camellia's part as she stepped to the nearest window or exit that allowed her to glance up at the sky while she waited for the conference to reconvene. After all, even if the leaders were selfish and deluded, the old man had clearly forgotten that they represented dozens of systems, millions, billions upon billions, of people and their lives. There were problems with a beautiful alliance for so many reasons. Cultures wouldn't just mesh because people were told to, there were undoubtedly some civilians in the Sith populace who were ecstatic with the new people in charge, just as there were definitely those against it. Such could be found everywhere, in every galactic government's holdings. Even if the leaders got along no one could account for everyone they spoke for. The Sith were a threat, but so could any corrupt government, a majority who oppressed others could do as much damage if not more than a minority who was evil.

One could say the Mandolorians were a threat as well. Their tendency for conflict, battle, and aggression was a cultural matter. They thrived as a warrior people so many times in history one could say they might become aggressors once the Sith fell if they still came out strong. Or perhaps the Republic might fall into corruption and once more become a morally cruel and threatening empire. Who could say. Then there were matters of infrastructure. People ran their governments differently, they laid out laws on different principles and on different expectations from the people who they governed. Even the way they handled civil matters of construction, economic trends and currency, trade both inside and outside their borders, and individual world boundaries. Each planet required their own needs that really only the immediate galactic government would be aware of as compared to visitors from afar, such as language and specific needs of the inhabiting species.

Lastly the Alliance might serve to work things over initially, but a point would come when more firm immersion of the separate power would be required, and that would be when the people's will and the problems of culture and how each handled matters would rear up, and then would one truly also be able to say if any of the leaders were in it for greed or power. Even as a CEO of a company trying to rise once more, Camellia knew it was overly ambitious and hopeful to push for supporting a lasting alliance in the hopes of establishing a hand in it with Rendili Stardrive even if things fell apart later. It surprised her that Alyeson Organa had pushed for it, and even offered up the Stealth X design that had just been completed. However, knowing how the woman just lost her homeworld, Camellia could see why Incom's head had agreed to the concept. Anything that could free and restore Alderaan was the best option in Alyeson's eyes possibly. It would have been for Camellia had Rendili been a world to fall. Understanding this, Camellia felt that even if she did not support the Alliance, she would most certainly offer the aid of Rendili's Defense Forces in taking back the planet as one of its active officers. She could maybe convince Senator Chi Chuchi to convince the Arch Provost to supply humanitarian aid as well.

This was a lot wasn't it? Camellia found herself laughing a little after a long sigh as she stared at the flowing sky. Last she saw Alyeson Organa had been heading in the other direction. Maybe if she headed back she could run into the other woman and make that offer of help. Turning and walking down the halls again wondering when things would start again, she had been thinking to herself for a while, Camellia dug out the small holoprojector from her belt as she took her time walking to admire some of the designs she had mentioned in the room earlier. Rendili Stardrive's truly made masterpieces, regardless of how things went she would make sure the ships from her world found their way into being of use.

Olidiv Kenu

Behold, a Swordsman of Legend
Olidiv was interrupted by a series of events that, well, ruined any attempt for wrestling control of this back. Fifteen minutes. Lovely. He got up, grabbing the stylus from his data pad and his sword-cane. He smiled under his mask and bowed to the guards. "No brutality, but I do need to get in some exercise. Don't mind me!" He said cheerily.

Holding each in one arm, he began to move a through a series of basic forms. One, two, parry, thrust, glide stand, sidestep, thrust, thrust, twirl, flourish, thrust. If the Jedi meditated upon the force, and Mandos meditated upon tradition then he could be said to meditate upon a blade. Swordwork was not simply his hobby, it was his blood, his strength, his path.

He sighed after about eight minutes and sat back down, next to [member="Olivia Dem'adas"] . "I'm new at this government thing, are international affairs always this tedious? I feel as though I'd have been better off with pirates..." he mused out loud. "At least a pirate lets you yell a rebuttal before he storms off and ruins the furniture..."

As his pipe began to smoke most pleasantly he sucked on the stem, running over the latest events.
Finally, he pulled out his commlink and contacted through a secure link his Avenger Star Destroyer, Liberation. It was the ship which had transported the Republic delegation, and was sitting a tactful distance away from the station.
“Captain, go to orange alert. Nothing dramatic, but keep the scanners and sensors tuned, get the gun teams prepared. I’m not expecting trouble, but it’s wise to be prepared.”

He got acknowledgement and clicked it off. Finding himself near to [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] he headed over to her.
“I see you are still the Lady to go to for home redecoration,” he commented, gesturing to the crumpled door. “I wanted to express my relief at your recovery. You were of considerable assistance at Roche, and though much has changed I find us together once more facing the Sith.”
