Just cause I'm curious to see who is upfront with their Star Wars collaborating roleplaying writing adventures.

Does your family know?

Do your co-workers know?

Do your friends know?

Does your significant other know your deep dark secret?

Or are you that Jock at work that no one would ever believe even knows the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars? ( ahem @[member="Jonathon Patches"])




If not, why haven't you told them?

My family all knows about my weiting habits and that I divide my time between poetry and Star wars.
My co workers would be surpirsed to know I can read anything but blueprints.
And if my friends from my younger days saw I was still writing they would likely noy be surprised.

I tell anybody who asks what I do in my spare time, although I definitely avoid the word roleplay, as I believe it would conjure images that I dress up in my spare time and pretend to be a wookiee, most likely sexual images.

When I was younger I didn't tell people because it was a bit embarrassing but now, psh, who cares, I do what I like. It's an inexpensive social hobby that improves a skill. It's ballin', I'M BALLIN'.

My friends know I'm one of the biggest Geeks they know, and I'm proud of that title.

A few of them know I "write" on this forum....but don't know the depths in which we all go, safe to say if they did I think my title would be escalated to something else.

I'm not ashamed to tell anyone what I get up to; I pity them for not being able to experience it!

My Family knows, They see me on it and even ask questions about it and my characters whenever I see them. (dad works third shift and mom works second)
Some of my close friends know, but they don't really ask much about it.
My friends tell me that they are surprised that I do RP because I am rather goth (I wear all black and maybe red or purple) so most people are genuinely surprised about the RP but almost everybody knows that I like star wars. (I have black star wars t-shirts.)

The family sort of knows. My brother figured it out to be as writing online and having no copyright over my work which is what he told my mother. Even though he understand Tabletop and can to a degree see some similarity between the two, mother can't so she just follows his lead and talks bad about it.

I tell my friends no problem. For some, I have to use the long explanation and stir clear of Star Wars 'cos they don't like it (eh, nobody's perfect) and for some, they just go with it. Don't ask too much, accept it etc. Mostly, people don't ask too often about it, it just comes up once.

Don't have co-workers, have colleagues at school and I barely speak to them as it is so it's none of their business what I do or don't do outside of schoolwork.

My friends and wife are well aware of what I get up to on this site, which shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me as @[member="Theophenes"] is at my house at least once a week for tabletop related gaming.

My wife mostly just makes 'so, is such-and-such boning anyone yet?' jokes.

I've not made a habit of shouting it from the rooftops, but nor do I purposely hide it. To me it's a way to vent my creative side, and as an English Student and avid Creative-Writing-Student, it's just another medium of Creative Writing for me
