The doorway he entered led to a wide-open hall with multiple balconies and shadowy alcoves. More than one person had fallen here, prey to the snipers that inhabited those shadows. The Master allowed the Force to guide him into a series of gymnastics, tumbling through the air with a randomness that gave the snipers fits. Their positioning was well-suited for soldiers or less experienced Jedi, but against a Master they would have been better off massing their fire. He didn't even try to block the slugs with his lightsaber, he instead locked it on and hurled the glowing blade across the hall towards one of the alcoves and shut down the shield. The flying weapon attracted some of the attention, freeing him to retaliate somewhat. Each time his feet touched the floor, a pulse of Force energy left him. Telekinesis all, some of the bursts were aimed at people, knocking them back. Others were at the surroundings: collapsing an alcove's ceiling, shattering a balcony like a bomb had gone off underneath it. Seven snipers were out of the game once he hit the other end of the hall, one killed by a lightsaber the rest by his Force use.
Here the hallways narrowed and branched out. Audren allowed the Force to guide his feet, placing more attention on detecting traps. Some of these were blatant: the Sith apprentice rushing at him with blood-red blade, the laser walls. Others were subtle, like the increasing sense of psychic pressure trying to crush his spirit. The best ones were automated, the anti-personnel mines triggered by motion detectors...halfway through their field. The range flowed from standard to creative and beyond. With considerable effort and some minor injuries, he made his way through them all. His favorite, by far, were the mines and the flamethrowers set to saturate a choke point with white-hot flames, the latter he'd ended up needing to find a way around.
One attempt that stuck out in his mind was the bait. A lone Sith had hidden in the corner of a T-style hallway, working to conceal his presence in the Force. It hadn't been good enough, Audren had walked by and shot the boy without even looking as he tried to ambush from behind. Unsuccessful, but it had distracted his attention just long enough for the five Sith ahead to start their attack. From where they'd been cloaked in unnatural shadow, the first two attacked, lightsaber pikes thrusting for him. He shifted to his right, bringing his lightsaber up to intercept the metal of the pike and finding that it was, as expected, made of some lightsaber-resistant material. The force of his parry though - sideways and up - forced the one pike to hit the other, spoiling the strike of both. He'd never stopped moving forward, and his own parry was swiftly reversed and cleaved his target from shoulder to opposite hip. The other was thrown against the wall hard enough to crumble stone...and snap many of the bones in the body. Up ahead, four more crimson lightsabers sprang to life.
