"I suppose I should be flattered that you used all your tricks to get to me? It will certainly make it simpler to kill you."
Audren didn't respond right away. He took the time instead to examine his opponent. As before noted, the Sith carried two lightsabers. They were held in such a way to deepen the shadows of her cowl, as the darkness that had cloaked the group of Sith diminished to that of normal shadow. But they were also held in the manner of one accustomed to fighting, and the posture was of confidence. A Master then, or an instructor here; maybe both. Someone with experience.
"No need for tricks. Just testing on available subjects."
The Sephi's tone was offhanded, casual. In response, the Sith's anger surged...until she forced it back and a thin smile crossed her face.
"You should join me, with that attitude. Do well enough and there might even be benefits beyond your testing."
"Nah, Dark Side corruption really isn't that nice to look at. You could surrender though, we have some nice rehabilitation facilities."
That made the anger boil over, and the woman began moving. The lightsabers left sheets of glare in their wake, and while not all of the cuts were meant to connect, any of them could be deadly. As a result the Jedi stayed defensive temporarily, blocking only the strikes that might connect and trusting in the Force to see through the feints. In the end, he simply shut his eyes and relied solely on the Force; the glare was a good distraction. The Sith's motions were largely circular, relying on momentum and speed to drop strike after strike. She showed no signs of tiring any time soon, so simply remaining defensive was out of the question.
Once he had a measure of how she fought, the Sephi started returning strikes. This caught his opponent off balance at first, accustomed as she was to his constant defense, but she adjusted quickly. One of his strikes slipped past her guard, only to be caught on gauntlets and shrugged off with some sparks and a cackle. They always had to cackle. That was fine though, three clashes later his orange blade swept through fingers and a lightsaber hilt, taking off half her hand and disabling the blade.
The pain only made the woman fight harder, drawing on more speed and strength to try and batter down Audren's defenses. At this point he stopped holding back. He'd offered her a chance to surrender, taken away one of her weapons and part of the hand wielding it, and yet she fought all the more. Her next strike was vertical, with raw power behind it. He met it with a horizontal block, meeting her strength with his, then took a step forward. This shifted his orientation, it rotated him a hundred and eighty degrees and brought his blade around while still holding hers motionless. He carried through, turning the lock into an unconventional strike: the blade sheared through her unprotected elbow and continued on to separate the top half of her head from the bottom. Sparks of lightning fizzled from her stump; she'd been planning to hold the lock and blast him with the electricity.
In the next instant, the elfin Jedi was hurled back down the corridor by a blue blast of Force energy. Apparently the Sith had drawn on the Force too deeply; her body - released of her will - could no longer contain it and so exploded. It was only due to the minor precognition he was granted by the Force that he'd been able to form a Force Shield in time, and yet was still thrown back. The blast was enough to shake dust from various corridors around the place and cause a minor over-pressure wave to course through the halls nearest the fight. Yet the fight was over, the Jedi victorious, and his injuries amounted to little more than scrapes and minor bruises.
