NOTE: THIS WILL CONTAIN INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE UPCOMING THREAD, SO PLEASE READ.
Hey there, beautiful people; we haven't had one of these in awhile, so we'll have quite a bit to cover today! As for my quietness, I finished my end of the planet sub; once me and Joran can mix and match it all together into a single rough draft and review, the sub will be submitted! Huzzah!

Foremost, everyone currently working on the submissions are doing fantastic; I've remained in touch with all of you and, continuously, you have striven to, and successfully, impressed. Though we had a small incident where we got off track, we managed to stay the course and see things through, so thank you for that. We've made quite a few interesting decisions over the past few days as well as a few reworks, all of which will thoroughly add to the quality of the thread overall, so great work, all of you. Even those who cannot afford to be here as much as some others, the little bits you have incorporated into the story will help tremendously.

With all that's being done, I want to get the thread started up tomorrow.

RECAP:

I may have been lurking the entire time, but I still maintained up to speed on the going-ons of the thread. Worry not, I am aware and, essentianlly, omnipotent in regards to planning.

We all know the plot of the story by now:

So as previously discussed, we'll be aboard a prison vessel; rather than it being hijacked, however, as Silas suggested, I personally believe we'd be better off making it the antagonist's to begin with - to so much out of laziness, but to lessen the research workload that'll be put into the workshops. It would counteract and erase the previous understanding that we would all be there for one reason or another and, if it was legitimate prison ship, then everyone might end up strong-armed into either having their character commit a crime or serve aboard it; both of which might contradict previously established character traits. Forced to compete by their rules, while being broadcasted to an audience of high-ranking criminals, generals, and other powerful entities, we'll have to survive in the wilderness - hunted by bands of NPC attackers, walking through harsh terrain (fire swamp, woooooh), fighting against the wildlife. In addition, each of you will be given the option to create a NPC sponser who will provide equipment to you to help better your chances of survival. Together, banded against the wilderness, we will ultimately spark a resistance against these games; but that will be in the future, as for now we best focus on getting the first thread out of the gate. Doing so means completing the world-building, finishing the prison ship, let the graphical art team wrap up a few pretty pictures for us, and so forth. This means the primarily responsibility falls upon the Antagonist Workshop and World-building crew, which happen to be the smallest of the three - any spare help we can get would be greater appreciated.
So, again, thanks to all who helped develop that.

Furthermore, we've also come to a decision to make this a minor faction; after a great deal of discussing the name, we will be referred to as the Bloody Bastards - however, since the name is shared by other groups, not necessarily pertaining to this board, we also decided to make this group, for the RP and faction, a subsidiary of a larger group, with a more official, public name to represent ourselves. The names come down to the following:

  • Freedom's Savior
  • Freedom's Wings
  • (The) Rebels of Purgatory
  • The (Bloody) Crows of Purgatory
  • (The) Revenants of Purgatory
  • Purgatory's Retribution
  • The Resistance
If you have any to add, please PM me; if I forgot any, scream at me in the thread. :^)

In addition, we've also made the unanimous decision to avoid crashing the ship; still, I would like to begin on the ship, to start off - it leaves less for us to develop and, from there, things can go any which-way. We could remain captured and deposited off the planet; we could steal a shuttle with a damage hypderive/without one, thus we'd land on the planet; and so forth. At this point, plot progression should be left up to the thread, in order to maintain an organic pacing and reaction; right now, all we need is a beginning, which we have - we're on a prison ship and it cannot be destroyed. From there, it's safe to say we can afford to take this one step at a time; the threads will be long, so don't feel the need to rush nor to fluff it up. What we have is enough to carry us wherever we want to go, so take it and run with it; whatever you intend to do, you'll have ample opportunity to pursue and achieve here.

So, since basically all that we've needed to do for the first thread is done (planning, etc.) and what remains is down to a matter of time (ship finalization, planet submission, etc.), let's get ready; from now on, let's discuss rules and so forth in order to prepare. First thing tomorrow morning, 8:00 AM EST, the thread will go up; let's make sure we're all on the same page beforehand.

First of all, posting order is as follows:
  1. [member="The Herald"] (My Dungeon-Master Alt)
  2. [member="Dax Fyre"]
  3. [member="Nicair Claden"]
  4. [member="Jaster Starfallen"]
  5. [member="Joran Del-Finn"]
  6. [member="Silas Miu"]
  7. [member="Aerin The Lost"]
  8. [member="Jakkor Kess"]
  9. [member="Sedge"]
  10. [member="Cathul Thuku"]
  11. [member="Thresh Sken"]
  12. [member="Kevros Kovani"]
  13. [member="Singularity"]
  14. [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"]
  15. @Myself
Please wait in this given order to post, so we can keep things organized; I'll maintain order and discipline as the first line of defense through my Herald alt. If there are any confusions or discrepancies, Hell, if someone's post pissed you off, take it to this thread so it can be handled without any excess drama building up elsewhere. If someone skipped your post, let them know here. Let it be an open discussion to take off the edge and, if there's any argument, I'll step in to help reach a consensus; we've come to far to let petty things break down what we've got here.

In addition, let's make it a one-post per day minimum; thus, we can keep the rotation maintained, so everyone can contribute daily. If your schedule is tight, and you need to be higher/lower on the list, please notify me at once; in addition, if on certain days you'll be unavailable, let me know so we can adjust it. You will, however, be responsible for your activity in the thread, so if you take up too much responsibility for the story ICly, and can't maintain the complexity or the time requirements (regardless of your previous schedule or muse - if you want to fight someone, but can't keep up with it, that's on you), it will be retconned and given to someone else; we can't afford hang-ups, if you can't keep up with yourself, no one else deserves to have a reduced experience for it.

Furthermore, if someone forgets their post, or you feel like they're taking too long to get a post in (particularly, if it pushes it beyond your schedule and you wouldn't be able to get yours in), then contact me immediately and we'll adjust your placement, temporarily if need be. If you, in turn, forget to post, or simply don't bother, you simply will be ignored for the duration of the RP until you contact me personally, explaining your reasons for being gone and assure me it won't happen again or, if it will, explain to me better your detail so we can adjust for your continued absence. The thread will not be allowed to grind to a halt because of individual inconvenience, communication will be key and it will be your responsibility to maintain those lines of communication, either through PM or through this thread.

Also, in regards to NPCs written by opposing characters, including the DM (namely [member="The Herald"], who will be played by myself), should be treated as PCs; thus, any attacks on them should be attempts. If I sick a pack of gundarks on you for reasons X and Y, do not post about how you slew them with your bare hands because the stims you took turned you into a bootleg Incredible Hulk; that is god-modding. That, meta-gaming, all of their distant family is not going to be tolerated; neither will breaking site rules, breaking canon, and so forth. We've all done extremely well up until now, but, once this transitions into reality, we need to take this seriously and maintain it; if your character has ebola, that will, understandably, effect things for other people.

Starting immediately, I'll begin working on the introductory post to our thread, which, again, will go up at 8:00 AM EST; until then, let's wrap up any lingering inconsistencies, misunderstandings, and so forth so the transition from theory into reality will be as smooth as humanely possible.

RECAP OVER

Again, great job everyone; I'm sorry that it took so long to get here but, now that we've made it, let's take time to celebrate and prepare. We've all contributed heavily to what we have and it'll show in the final product, you should all be both excited for what's to come and proud that you, personally, made it happen.

I'm so excited to get the RP started!

That being said; 8:00 am EST is 5:00 am PST for me. With my work and sleep schedule my posting times would probably be between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am EST. So depending on peoples posting availability I can move either up or down the list.

I still think it would make sense IC'ly if we as a whole had one "sponsor" instead of everyone in the group having one. It would also make things a lot more manageable/simpler for everyone plot/story-wise. If everyone agrees to my idea from before and [member="Jaster Starfallen"] (if you're willing) since you already created a "npc sponsor", maybe we could use his as the groups sponsor?

That could work pretty well. My character has assisted [member="Jaster Starfallen"] in the past with a mission or two, and would maybe have attracted some good attention from the Republic.

I think that it'd be simpler for a single sponsor for the group as well. Maybe the NPC he created could be using his connections through the game and whatnot to promote his own products, or some experimental republic tech that hasn't been approved for live testing yet.

[member="Silas Miu"]

Yeah, that was my thinking. The sponsors each compete/show off against each other by providing their untested/experimental tech to their chosen group that they're trying to get to win the event.

-edit- The sponsor who's team wins essentially gets bragging rights and maybe a one year contract with the antagonists organization until the next years event starts.

@Everyone

Sorry for the lack of input, you all had it under control but I still love the idea, and the team work put into this and I have read all 19 pages of this, am caught back up, and will be ready for tommorow
As the posting order does not include me, I will just post after Jansal, if that's not too controversial
