Escape from Purgatory •[Thread Planning/OOC Discussion]•

And any reason why the antagonists were looking for such staffers on Mandalore of all places? Mandalore is a therapist graveyard...

What makes me so different from the other therapists they could have had access to?

Hello everyone! :) I look forward to rping with everyone in what looks to be ramping up to be a long, yet turbulent adventure haha

It could be interesting to sort of combine your ideas. Something along the lines of "Purgatory" being an event that takes place once a year. The antagonist/organization kidnaps people from all walks of life/ backgrounds (mercenaries, criminals, rich people, regular folk, etc.). The point of the whole thing is to see just how far down the rabbit hole they can push people through things like gladiators arena, torture, threatening family, neck bombs, etc. The whole thing is run, funded, and policed by the antagonist/organization for the entertainment of corporations, criminal organizations, etc. who have more money than they can spend and are just plain bored by everyday things.

I was unaware that your character operated solely on Mandalore - then again, with that said, how would it be plausible at all for your character to get involved in this conflict? If what ideas have been shared don't work, that's fine, we'll think of something else to ensure everyone can be involved, but I'll need a definite understanding of where your character's coming from beyond what's shared in your character bio. I can't make suggestions if there's multiple obstacles, of which I'm unaware, getting in the way.

That's also a very, very interesting idea. I like that, a bit like a purge without the actual people getting involved; rather, they use unwilling prisoners to take out their frustrations.

@Everyone

Maybe we do something like that, we could be on just one of many prisoner ships being taken to this "event" and from there, we escape. That'd provide ample reason for vengeance, I'd imagine.

Just as a note, however, that this is only a suggestion. Nothing is set in stone as of yet.

My droid character, while combat oriented, is also very technical-minded. :) My character would definitely be interested in the development of technology and weaponry.

OOC- I'm the same way in real life haha. I'm always looking at new/interesting technology. I also enjoy thinking about new ideas for technology, weapons, and how to make them both feasible and realistic. I would love to get together with you ooc/ic to brainstorm things :p

@Everyone

Before I head off for the night or get distracted, I just want to make a post regarding the antagonist position(s):

If you're willing to play the part of the antagonist, and you feel that you meet the required criteria involving leadership skills, a flexible schedule, and a dedication to the storyline, please feel free to submit your nomination in the thread by tagging me.

After a period of time has passed, we, as a group, will look at the nominated individuals and elect those applicable for the position(s) available. <3

By tomorrow we can probably get a majority opinion on that. Singularity hit the nail on the head with me, I think; special thanks to [member="Nicair Claden"] for the suggestion on an arena, also. I like where this is heading.

I'm certain you and [member="Silas Miu"] would work together splendidly creating tech submissions, you both strike me as incredibly passionate regarding the intricacies of it. You'd make a great team.

Truer words have likely never been spoken. I'm trying to make it sound all icky and hard by tacking on all the big words, which is entirely honest - it requires a special passion to maintain a bad guy character, especially for a pre-planned RP; but yeah, we'll get plenty of bites methinks.

Welcome to the RP Planning! Feel free to take a look around at what we've been brainstorming on - I'll also be posting a daily recap, so don't worry if you feel a bit lost; in fact, if you didn't feel lost, I'd honestly be impressed. If you need anything, let me know. :)

So that would start the prison break? Perhaps, though it'll depend on a wide degree of variables; for the meatbags, it would depend if we decide on having them deliver us to the gladiator event, which would have some cultural significance, for instance - then, if they're mercenaries and so forth. I think when it comes down to enemy NPCs, we should wait until someone is selected to play the antagonist, then we get his input on the subject. However, until then, I'll certainly make a note of your suggestions and be certain to bring it up when the time comes.

In the case of an AI as well, we'd need the antagonist to finalize the creation of his/her company, which will take time, in order to submit it; they'd probably want input on its creation, too.

That's one thing we were discussing, wherein whether the antagonist would actually own the ship, and we would break out, or that he would, in fact, be like us and start a massive prison break that we would get caught up in. Like I said, we're all just brainstorming - though not many people are on this late, still feel free to shoot off your thoughts; I'll be getting off soon, but, when I get on tomorrow, I'll cover them in the recap so everyone can get a good look at them. :D

I'd like the Idea of it being a shadow organization... maybe one run by some sick twisted bastard with a napoleon complex that likes to watch people lose control, even force users.
though... having another prisoner be the antagonist... gives me an idea, have you watched SAW?
